I was supposed to pick up contact lenses and called them to see if they would wait for us to pick them up. They were more interested in going home in a rush. They agreed to wait. Arrived there 2 minutes after closing only to find out they had left, even though they knew we were on our way. Availability for appointments for eye doctors are not very good either. Not recommended.

Excellent, compassionate, patient service for my 90-year old great Aunt. I asked if they could expedite her new glasses since she lost her old pair and they had the new pair within three days. Incredible! Another bonus was the budget-friendly glasses packages which were a godsend considering she is low income. Couldn't recommend FYI enough! Thank you!

Show room is clean and well appointed and they'll order in if they don't have what you need in stock. The staff always seems happy. It's a great place to go for your eye care.

I went there this week, bc I needed to replace the lenses on my sunglasses.The clinic I had been going for years refused to do it for me bc I didn’t got the glasses there. Lisa did it for me in 5 minutes, for free. Place is very modern and clean. Love it!! They treated me like a long time customer :)

Don’t even want to give them a star they’re so awful. I was a regular customer there for years. I called to make an appointment because I had a light flash in one eye. I told the receptionist why I was calling and mentioned I have a mask exemption. She said she would check if the Drs would see me called me back and said all three refused because of the dangers of covid. Wow. Advice was to go to hospital where they force masking. I said that and was told oh well basically. Went onto white list black listed on FB and found a caring compassionate Dr in Edmonton saw me no issues looked everything over and said I didn’t need a hospital. Eye floater was the issue. I was so grateful for the help I cried. I wrote a complaint to the College of Optometrists because I was discriminated against , they reviewed my complaint and said this clinic and all three doctors have a choice to deny service to anyone even a mask exemption which is a disability so don’t expect any compassion from these people. Everyone at that clinic who abused me that day is guilty of discrimination. Go to the back of the bus. Those people are evil.

My appointment went well and I was grateful the doctor made a space for me to replace my old and broken glasses! The real star was Elyssa, who helped me choose frames and found the right lenses for me. She was friendly, helpful, and intuitive - she knew when to give me space and when to come help. Her comments on the frames were kind without being obsequious, and she helped me find a pair I love. And she gave me all the options for prices in a way that helped me find the best price for me. Over 3 visits, she was consistently awesome! I'll stick with her! Update: I had an issue with the lenses, and had to return the next day. It's now been almost 1 month and I am still waiting for the new glasses. Standby.... Okay, got my new glasses yesterday. They are an improvement on the first pair, and I like the style. I didn't get an explanation as to why it took a month to get them, but the girl who helped me was courteous and I have my new glasses.

I went here for my eye exam every year, Dr. Ikram is great and all of the staff here at Fyidoctors are very knowledgeable especially Erica who help us picked our glasses also, to Elizabeth who did our pretest she is also very nice. Thank you Fyidoctors!

Great customer service. I have a large family and over half of us wear glasses. I came upon FYI after a really bad experience somewhere else. Lisa and her staff have been taking care of us for many years now. They have gone above and beyond for my teenage son who is rough on his glasses. They are not pushy and have great options that are budget friendly. I recommend them often and always feel confident sending family and friends there.

I have been to this location 2 times and both have been bad. We once stood at the counter for 20 minutes before any one even said "hi ill be right with you". All I got was people trying to avoid eye contact. The second time I called and was quoted an outrageous price for new lenses for my sunglasses. So I have learned that costco has the same amenities and cost less for an exam and that i should use a mail order service to get replacement lenses.

My employer purchased prescription Safety Glasses for me. They arrived with a headband that is much better than the arms for a Professional Pot Picker. My own optometrist did not know how to remove the arms and snap in the headband. When l walked in to FYI today, the friendly receptionist said, "l can do that." One minute later, l walked out with glasses that won't keep falling into the marijuana tote for 10 hours a day. I can't wait to go to work tomorrow! The charge? FREE. Next time l'll get my prescription there, too.

My wife and I have been going to Dr.Ikram for our eye exams for the last few years. Excellent service from all the staff. My last visit was over a month ago for my annual eye exam and for a new pair of eyeglasses. Erica, the Optician, was very helpful and knowledgeable when I was selecting what frame and lenses I needed. She made sure that measurements were precise and the frame fitted me well from the beginning until I picked up my eyeglasses. Well recommended!!

Then only place my family and I will go. Dr. Ikram has been a very good optometrist for myself and all three of my children. Their office is always friendly, inviting and promptly serves us every time. Lisa has fantastic taste in glasses, if you are looking for a new pair be sure to see her she will spend whatever time you need until you find the pair you love. They have a fantastic selection.

CONTACT LENS tip! I tried to order a contact lens re-fill at the FYidoctors in St.Albert after my exam there. The old gentleman tried to tell me that I had to pay for a contact lens fitment fee and I told him no thanks. I ordered the contact lenses through COSTCO for a cheaper price and they didn't charge me a fitment fee either.

FYI…. Must be short for For Your Incompetence! After a large sum of money spent, and 3 store visits there are still no glasses to collect. First time around the “right” lenses been fitted to the wrong frame, then a week later the wrong lenses been fitted to the right frame! Well done! Way to run a business in a highly competitive market! (Opted for a full refund)

This place is a joke! You have to make an appointment when the store is dead and you are standing outside. I realize “covid” but the store was empty and clearly under 50% capacity. I'm gald they are doing better than most businesses, but they will be losing a ton to business with an attitude like this.

Got a pair of useless eyeglasses. Took it back, they just adjusted the temples and said give it time you will get used to it. I just ended up using my old ones. Dr. Hayward is good but the front line customer service staff is horrid. Get your glasses done elsewhere.

One of the most important things is the time they take with each individual. I am in awe that they are able to maintain this service during this difficult time. If you choose an optometrist on price alone, you might want to go elsewhere. For all-around service and quality, however, this place is the "bees knees".

I was very nervous about frame shopping during covid, since I had to come alone. I struggle making decisions when there are so many choices. One of the staff helped me find a pair of frames that I LOVE and gave me very honest feedback on the ones I was trying on. I couldn’t ask for better customer service. She was very patient with me while I took an embarrassingly long time to decide. I couldn’t help but notice how her hands have been affected by all the extra cleaning and disinfecting for covid. Absolutely unreal service. My husband destroyed his glasses accidentally and due to location and covid, it was a challenge to orchestrate getting a new pair. I called and was offered a solution immediately, had pictures of frames sent to me to choose from and the glasses were ordered in 20 minutes. I’m so grateful for the help, especially being in difficult situation. They had our insurance on file still so I didn’t even have to worry about that part. I have a light sensitivity and I went to FYI doctors because my "cheap" glasses weren't dark enough for me to use. I went in with my toddler and newborn and Elyssa helped me. She was amazing with me and my kids. Very personable and very knowledgable. She helped me choose the right frames and made sure they were as dark as possible. We had a lovely conversation and honestly, I was scared taking my kids in and she eased my mind and made it a lovely experience. I also got some great glasses that work perfectly for me. I couldn't rate this experience higher. The glasses are great and Elyssa was outstanding.

Useless for three years! Every time I book my annual diabetic eye check up there is confusion at reception over what tests are needed and who pays what. This year they just changed my appt time without even telling me. I was accused of 'yelling' on the phone, which wasn't true but I'm sure sounded good to people on the other end. The staff were really unknowledgable about sunglasses last year when I purchased my new glasses and it's difficult to take an opinion seriously when the staff say EVERY pair looks great. Barf. My elderly neighbour was also refused the bathroom recently, even though she was required by FYI to drive her sister to her appt. I'm done and going elsewhere. Sort yourselves out!

I made initial inquiries, about potential Covid restrictions before making an appointment to get an eye exam with of course new glasses to follow. It was nice to see that FYi was doing their best to put measures in place to protect everyone, including themselves. Simple protocols that don't hinder your time inside. You still feel relaxed and are free to look around. For the individuals out there that don't care for tight restrictions, trust me you will hardly notice as they do such a seamless job it just simply happens around you when your not even looking. Should the time come to try on glasses you can take your mask off as you'll be behind a protective shield. Everyone looks at themselves oddly when trying on new glasses and you have a mask on, so this was cool. A few eye tests which didn't take too long, after which I was brought back to the store front in which I was introduced to Eilish, a wonder person who genuinely wanted to help out. She took a couple pondering moments to size up my facial structure , asked a couple of questions and grabbed a few pairs of frames and wouldn't you know it...... the very first pair she grabbed was the frame selection I chose in the end. She took the time to explain everything from warranty to lens types and selections and everything in between with a few laughs tossed in for good measure . Thanks to everyone I met at FYi, especially Eilish, Lisa and all the rest, I'm sorry I didn't catch all your names but it was a pleasure.

The store manager Lisa P. and her staff are interested in closing the sales in front of you as they wanted, if they cannot close the sales at once they will mistreat you as a customer. I bought a $325 eyeglasses from the store and was mistreated by Lisa and some of her staff. I was questioned of my rights to visit the store three times in an attempt finding the best deals I can get, the 2nd and 3rd were ready to purchase yet was told to come back another day for better deals. Today I went the last time to purchase my eyeglasses, Lisa, the manager promised to put my glasses on hold put all of my glasses back to the shields, kept me waiting in the store for about 30 minutes, ended up paying full price item on the day a "up to 70% off sales" goes on. This is because it is a conditional promotion with string attached. Unless you pay for $200 or more for lens you do not receive a penny discount. I find this is a rip off promotion, it lures customers in, when you have found something you like, you find that the "sales" is actually not there. I was totally ignored by Lisa and some of her staff, kept me waiting for nothing, just because they couldn't close the sales as they wanted in the first place! Lisa spoke with me as if I were her employee, lack of courtesy and respect towards a customer. The attitude is totally unprofessional and unacceptable. This is the first and last time, no more returning to this store, nor any of the FYi doctors stores. Good-bye.

How is this place still in business? After getting eye rolls and belittled by Kirsten I asked to speak to the manager. Lisa would not let me speak, she was defensive and would not hear my concerns for how I was treated - this is the third time I’ve been to this location with unacceptably terrible service. All Lisa would say in defence was “Kirsten is in the back room crying, she’s been yelled at by six customers today. We’re doing our best. We’re short staffed” etc etc.... well you know what? Yes I realize we are in a pandemic. I work in healthcare so I realize we’re all doing our best. But that does not give you the right to treat a paying customer the way she does. I guarantee the other mentioned six customers did not yell at her, it was her being abusive and condescending toward them. I am really shocked they keep her around treating customers the way she does. And Lisa, in the future I would not mention that your staff member is in the back room crying. I was appalled you would release that information to me? A note to head management: if you don’t want this business to flop, clean house with current useless staff and management and you may have a chance to survive the business.

The actual doctors were very good and comprehensive - the eye examination done very well and those immediate assistant were very good as well. What wasn’t appreciated was the 15 - 20 mins that I sat there post eye examination waiting for one of the technicians to get around to me. Later - They texted me that the glasses were ready for pick up. When I arrived- I phoned the provided number to be put on hold for 10 - 15 minutes- then I was hung up on. I texted the posted number as I watched several people get assisted. The girl technician, when she came out to help the others, told me that I had to make an appointment. To pick up glasses- I asked- then she carried on with a plethora of excuses as to why they are so busy. I wasn’t happy about their technicians efforts. They reflect the face of the business.

I purchased my sons prescription eye glasses at this location. Unfortunately when needed them to make a slight adjustment to the frames they were unable to find the time to do so. The sign on the door reads that their here to serve the community. This to me is not an example of serving our community. Disappointed in the lack of service that they are willing to provide their customers in what should have been a quick adjustment. I had to drive to another provider where I never purchased from to have his glasses adjusted. This family of five will no longer be future customers or recommend this location to family and friends. When supporting local do your research on highly recommended local businesses.

Purchased 3 pairs of glasses here recently but went back in to ask for an eye test as I was worried about my eye that I had surgery on twice and I wanted their opinion not the place I had the surgery done as I was having issues. I was dismissed not for the first time either, as the doctor there obviously didn't think I was going to be spending money so couldn't find the time to listen to what I needed or come out from the back to humour me. I needed an up to date eye test to see if I could get specially fitted contact lenses and also I need new safety glasses for work. Pretty disappointed in the follow up service. I spent alot of money there only a few months ago I didn't think it was too much to ask for 2 minutes of your time. Don't worry I will spend my hard earned money elsewhere.

My 11 year old son took a soccer ball to the face during the first few weeks of the Covid shut down. His glasses snapped and we were without glasses. I called FYI and spoke with Lisa (we have been going here for years). I was panicked because we needed glasses for him to do home school. She told me to drop them off to her and she’d order a new frame. My husband dropped them off. Lisa greeted him and Was so friendly. She ordered the new frame immediately. And to make sure he had glasses while we waited she found a frame in store that fit his lenses. We were not expecting him to get a pair of glasses while we waited. He was so happy as he was wearing his sports googles to do his school work. The new frame arrived quickly. I went to pick them up myself. I showed up without an appointment. The staff who answered the door was very helpful and took the lenses while we waited outside ( we had no appointment). She still helped us. Lisa came out to greet me. It was a great experience in a stressful time. Thank you FYI staff for making this easy and stress free. We highly suggest FYI in St Albert. The optometrists and all staff are always a pleasure.

She was patient and professional and helpful and I’d highly recommend her and FYI During these covid times you need to make an appointment and traffic is minimal during our time in store so safety was obviously a priority as well. Dr Hayward is great and very knowledgeable and would give her a 5/5 rating. The front staff however, I am giving a 3/5. I received an email confirmation of my appointment only to show up and have the front staff tell me my appointment wasn't for another hour. I showed the girl the email confirmation on my phone clearly indicating the time and she fluffed it off as if it was my fault and didn't apologize. Very inconvenient and I expect a higher quality of customer service during a situation like that.

Went in to speak to someone about contact lenses. I have never been somewhere before when the front desk person was incredibly cold, rude and grumpy. I ended up just walking out as I couldn't believe her attitude. She was an older lady, She looked at me as if I had 10 heads. I took my business elsewhere needless to say.

During a critical time in need of a written doctors prescription for eye drops I require..I was told that not till next week sometime the doctors will be able to review it. In the meantime my appointment checkup scheduled for 5 weeks ago was cancelled after coming to them with issues about very sore eyes. At what will I get the help I require? Not today apparently. Patient care lacks at this "vision" centre.

This is a lovely clinic. Dr Hayward is warm, knowledgeable and patient. The staff have been welcoming and helpful. I recently brought my elderly Mother to her annual apppintment. Torrential rain struck as I was helping her from the car. We were surprised and delighted when Dylan (one of the staff who was going on a break) stopped to bring an umbrella and shelter my Mother and escort and guide her into the office. Exceptional service - was greatly appreciated.

Whether I need an eye exam, purchase new glasses or just a simple frame adjustment, I find all staff courteous and professional. The doctors are always upbeat, friendly and down to earth. The staff in store front offer any support I need when making the difficult decision of which pair of frames to buy. I find shopping for glasses very challenging, but the staff make it easier and suggest options that work best for me. The compliments that I have received on my glasses tells me they know their stuff! Totally recommend this location.

Love doctor Hayward, but front staff are not friendly, cold, and need to smile. I go for Dr Hayward and get my glasses elsewhere.

I am not a patient at this clinic but when I bring my grandma in for anything the store is always so busy with customers but all the front desk girls make an effort to welcome us even if they cant help us right away. I wanted to express my thoughts on this as I know how hard customer service can be and having to sit in the middle of the room filled with people everywhere and the volume of people so high with phones constantly ringing. every one in this office keeps their cool and I appreciate every staff member always making sure every one is being helped! thanks fyi!

Aimee was a great help in finding cools frames that will work with my prescription. Dana was tremendous when fitting them, listening intently and adjusting the glasses perfectly on the first try. Dr. Ashley Larsen is the best optometrist I have ever been to. She explains everything in depth and answers any questions you might have. Her demenor and personality is so welcoming and happy. She is even better with my 3 year old daughter. Every year we go in she remembers us from the previous year. Such a sweet wonderful lady. I have always had good luck there, and the front staff is just as amazing to us. Super good with helping us choose glasses and very patient in letting us try on dozens of frames. I would recommend booking your next eye appointment or even just to stop in and buy glasses/sunglasses from the fine staff here.

Very professional service. Karen was an excellent doctor to deal with and explained any of my questions in great detail, when I went to pick out the frames the first time I felt very overwhelmed by the lady I was dealing with (I don't believe she is there anymore) so I shrugged it off and gave it a few months. I went back today after several people referred me onto a gentleman named Devan, if you are looking for frames this is the guy to see! He is quick, to the point, is honest if something doesn't look right, and is not pushy at all and did not get the sales vibe at all from him. I will definitely be referring this establishment on to my friends and family and telling them to go see Devan. Thanks for everything FYI
