Amazing customer service

From the moment I walked through the doors of the Peterborough Optometric Centre until I walked out again, almost two hours later, I was treated with such respect and provided with so much attention to my every need that I feel totally confident that my vision will also be the guarded treasure that it truly is! The vision testing was comprehensive. The results were explained fully verbally and with computer images so that I could explicitly get the "full picture" of my status. Everything I needed for my treatment was provided to me on the spot again being fully demonstrated so that my self-efficacy in providing my own self-care is very high. I highly recommend this optometric office.

I've been coming here for 4 years now and no-where else has people this friendly and helpful! The staff are very kind and knowledgeable and they really do know how to treat their patients! The choices of glasses are extensive, bigger than any Wal-mart I've been to. I got a very nice pair of Tommy Hilfiger glasses and got replacement lenses for my old glasses as well. I don't think I'll ever go somewhere else and I'd recommend this place to anybody!

Such great experience! The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and made sure to explain every step, expectations and findings to me. This felt much more like visiting friends than anything else. It was comfortable and made the session go quickly. While their frame selection was limited, I was able to find something I liked quickly enough. I highly recommend this place, especially if you want that white glove approach with a down-home approach. Fantastic!

This is a quality place. The exams are detailed using state of the art equipment. The glasses are expensive, but are also high quality - you won't get products like this at a 2 for 1 place.

They were so accommodating right from the get go! They offered coffee and tea and were so friendly and extremely organized throughout my visit. I was a little skeptical going here because I just needed a check up for work but I do not regret my decision at all. They booked me additional appointments as necessary for my checkup and everyone was so friendly! I will 100% be going back.

I think the only part of my visit I enjoy is when I go through the initial tests and initial assessment of vision changes with the first woman. Years back when Dr. Hoja came in to go over things in finer detail I felt like he cared and he wanted me to understand my vision and what all the changes meant. I think when he took on new doctors and staff things changed. The woman I had previously, while new to me, seemed knowledgeable and thorough. The woman I had this time seemed rushed. She talked a mile a minute and either she was behind or she was trying to shoot me out the door. Also love when she ran across my nose when she was taking a more thorough look at my eyes. That's never happened before since Dr. Hoja and the previous doctor were more careful when moving around. Also felt like she was going to trim my eyelashes when she'd suddenly dropped the cover to block off one eye and then the other. When I went to look at frames I found they basically had the same style and shape from various brands so there was no real selection. Nothing worse than being forced to buy something you don't feel comfortable in. I know I was politely asked to buy frames from them and I tried a few years back but when I was curious about the colour of some frames and they said they'd call me when they came in... They never called... This is why I've been buying my frames elsewhere. I've also found the attention to this somewhat stressful aspect of the visit has spiralled downhill. No one really helps you find frames that suit you. This time I felt completely abandoned when I grouchy customer came in who had been shopping around for better deals. Both attendants jumped up to appease this customer and left me by myself to awkwardly stare at identical frame after identical frame. I just wanted to leave very badly but I still had to wait to pay. I think from a health perspective and for consistency I'll keep going (I really like getting the images of the inside of my eye) but other than that... Just really disappointed to a point that I dislike these folks. Except for the first woman. She makes me think she does remember me and she's so personable and friendly. She helps me understand what is going one and explained a bit more of the process. Maybe she should take over...

Worse place ever. Dr. Hoja is to aggressive in the way he practices and would not advise to attend if your a diabetic or close to being one. His doctor practices should be reviewed as he pushes to hard on one. I would not recommend him to anyone as after my last visit there. Yes they have state of the ark equipment but the harassment of over pricing tests and taking advantage of people is uncalled for.

On my very first visit here, I was welcomed with warm smiles and a comfortable waiting room. I've never had to wait very long, and to be honest, I love the professionalism and friendliness here. After living in several towns in southern Ontario, I can say that I feel as though my eyes are being taken care of to the utmost level with this team. I give them FIVE GOLD STARS and wouldn't change a thing about them. (I have a complicated disease with complicated eyes). Very friendly staff in a bright, clean office. Explanations were provided at each step and my questions were answered along the way. Unfortunately, staff did not correctly advise as to the type of glasses/lens I required and I ended up returning multiple times for new lenses and then lens adjustments. My lenses are still not correct so I am not able to use them for driving (which is their primary purpose). Although the staff has been pleasant and kind, they have not been able to resolve the issues with my lenses. Overall, the experience has been incredibly frustrating. I will not purchase future eye wear from Peterborough Optometric Centre.

No stars! Incredibly unorganized, they cancelled my appointment and tried to tell me I’d cancelled it, they refused to inform the doctor as to what happened. Worst experience with a doctor’s office ever!

Dr. Wendy Ng is first class. A no nonsense lovely person. She's all about the final results. Thanks to her, this "blind as a bat" can now see 20/20, there's no stopping her... ????

So I had an appointment at Peterborough optometric today. Can't say I was too pleased. I got there the receptionist was really nice. Wasn't until I got into see the doctor. I did all the exams and all that. Then the doctor I had informed me that my vision was soo bad that I shouldn't be driving. But I felt like he was just saying and forcing me to buy glasses there. I then did thinking that I so badly needed them. But then later I asked for my prescription thinking to seelike -350 or something. But there for wasn't at all. I felt like he was to blunt. And just trying to make a buck especially because it was my 1st time there. So now I see why I went too invision eyecare. I just don't think he was very professional!!!!!!!!!!

I had my first visit here recently. What an amazing experience! When I booked my appt I was hesitant about the timing as I would have my 3 month old with me but I was assured that staff would be more then happy to hold him. What a pleasant surprise to hear as a parent! They certainly made good on there word. I was treated so kindly and professionally throughout my entire visit, beginning to end. My baby was held and entertained (and given lots of snuggles and love!) by staff (special thanks to Tricia from my little one Bruce) my entire time there which allowed me to give my undivided attention to the appt. And wow, such a thorough appt. I can't believe the difference in quality in service here versus historic eye appts. Staff were quick to answer questions and I came out with a better understanding of my eye health. Can't wait to bring my 9&10 year olds today for their first ever appts!

My wife booked an eye exam and was satisfied by the service but it cost $164, I got mine at another place for $80. 2 star for being very overpriced. Check your insurance coverage before booking eye test. It may not be covered fully.

Very poor uncooperative customer service. Did not fully complete exam as requested and unwilling to take responsibility for the error. The 150% markup is not worth the lack in available and willing service. Would not recommend their services.

I have been a patient of the Peterborough Optometric clinic for a couple of years now. It has always been my experience that they provide top notch customer service. Staff are friendly and courteous and the eye exam is thorough. They even take the time to show you the scans and explain them. Rachel and Jane are very helpful picking out frames. I like that some are higher end designer brand names and that they also now carry some are more moderately priced quality brands.

I was so impressed with how in dept the eye exam was (1h30) and how friendly Dr. NG & the staff were throughout the entire appointment. I really felt as though she was thorough, made sure I was comfortable, asked frequently if I needed to take a break etc. I've being going to optometrists since I was a young child and some of the tests they did, I had never seen/been done before. I was able to see the photos of my eyes and the Doctor explained everything to me and what they were looking for. Honestly, I would NOT go anywhere else for an eye exam.

Nice people, modern office and equipment, but watch for unneeded and expensive tests, and take your glasses prescription to Costco for big savings. Subsequently I was advised that this office does not routinely promote extra testing, rather only for those with eye problems. I friend who I refered to this office thinks he benefited from the extra testing. The office also told me that they will price-match other quotes for glasses.

They seem to do a thorough exam of your eyes which is a nice touch but let’s not forget, YOU pay for it! You are then given a prescription for your glasses. At this time you are recommended a type of lense, Bi focal, Progressive, etc. Here is where they fail the consumer. If all works out then great everyone is happy. If you have trouble adjusting to THEIR RECOMMENDATION, they want to charge you an additional $80 to go back and review your eyes or any other options available that may work better for you. This is after you already paid $160 for the first visit! You would be better off going to any optometrist which charges $80-$95 for your initial visit and if you have to go back for an adjustment or consult, you would have to money to do so.... and this is if they would even charge you at all.

What fantastic experience! I had never had an exam before and when I called they booked me in right away. First impressions are a very well maintained, modern, comfortable decor. Very pleasant staff greeted me and quickly processed my information before showing me to a the reception area complete with refreshments. The chairs were not particularly comfortable but I waited for such a short time it did not matter. The testing was quick and the staff did a good job explaining each step. Dr Hoja reviewed my eye health with me and discussed my options. I was quickly and pleasantly assisted selecting eyewear and arranged follow up eye exams with reminder cards. I truly wish more businesses could operate as smoothly, efficiently and with as much care for their customers. Keep up the great work!
