This place is amazing. I was having a quick onset of symptoms with my eyes and they brought me in the day I called and even stayed late to make sure I didn't need acute treatment. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, Dr. Laycock was extremely professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommended this place, they definitely will always have my business.

My mother deals with this practice. She’s having problems with her vision. It seems to me she takes whatever appointment she can get whether it is convenient for her or not because she is worried she won’t be able to get another appointment in a timely fashion.

I had a eye exam and bought new glasses for the first time at this store. Their customer service was excellent from the moment I walked in the store and during every step of the way right to the end when I picked up my new glasses. They were very thorough and didn't rush through any steps including the eye exam. They were so helpful and wanted to make sure I was making the right decisions and happy with my new glasses. The store is quite large and the selection of frames and lenses was huge. It was overwhelming to me so I was thankful for the staff that were very patient with me to help choose the right frames and lenses. I spent over $800 including the eye exam. They suggested I go with progressive lenses so I agreed but I was quite shocked how expensive they were. To be fair I don't know what other stores charge so I can't say that they were more expensive than anywhere else. I just spent about double than I have in the past. I recommend shopping around for prices but I highly recommend FYidoctors for their amazing customer service.

Extremely disappointed in this company. Bought new glasses at high price,. When I picked them up, was asked to read a card, told them all of it was blurred to some extent. Was told to try them for two weeks to get used to them, after two weeks went back, still blurry I told them. They booked me in for appt two-three weeks later, for a re-exam. They wanted to charge again for another exam and I said no as this was a re-exam for wrong prescription. When they would not re-exam me without paying for it I told them I wanted my money back. Which they refunded. These people are wrong for trying to charge me a second time. Very disappointed.

I bought my glasses in Calgary a month ago and one of the nose pieces broke off. They took me in right away, fixed my glasses, AND gave me two extra pieces as they knew I was going to be on the road for months. Super nice staff and I would highly recommend this location!

Saw Dr Amanda Erickson after aworrisome weekend of calls and a trip to emerg on tbe recommendation of BC Healthlink. "Stop what you are dojng and go immediately to the hospital". It was Sunday. An exam and the doc speaking with the on call Ophthalmologist in Kelowna it was advised I go home and go back to emerg or my reg opthamologist FIRST thing in the Morning but if there were and changes to eush right back as it could be retinal detachment!!!! Well...that freaked me out!! I was at my eye docs when they opened at 8 and was told to.come back at 9 when the doc eas in but they were unsure if I could be seen (which I knew and was prepared to go back ro out patients) WELL!!!! They got me in and she was FANTASTIC!!!!! She had the techs do tests and tgen would pop in look and do another. At rge last test assessment she was so apologetic about me being there so long. It was maybe just over an hour at this point. NO BIG DEAL!! I was impressed with how effecient they were. When she sat to talk to me she was very clear and educated me on my eyes and thankfulky gave me a PVD diagnosis that didn't require treatment. But...she said if there were changes to get back there asap. I worked in. Dental Clinic fir 30 yrs so I know absoulte an professional who genuinely cares when I see one. She is the eye doc you want to see. Amazing! And the staff is terrific too! Annnd whew!

I came in for an exam and needing contacts right away as I was on my last pair, since my vision is poor I had to get trials which took over a month to come in. I started wearing my glasses due to my contacts being to old and irritating to wear which is unhealthy for me as my prescription is sooo poor. Once my trials were in and I told the receptionist which I’d prefer to order I was refused until the doctor could see them in my eyes. I was told I’d get a call from the doctor to make this appointment. a month had passed and I called to make the appointment since I received nothing. When I arrived to my appointment I told them I was in a rush and then after confirming which contact I was able to order I was talked to sign papers afterword to get files transferred. I refused since I was in a rush and my experience was way to complicated. I took my prescription else where and received my contacts within a couple days! Wish I never wasted my time here

Had a serious eye condition and called at 0845 hr for an appointment, they took info but didn't return the call to schedule an appointment until 2pm that day. By then i had already scheduled an appointment with another optometrist, driven there (45 km away), was seen and returned home before 2pm. Sad customer service

Be careful when you are scheduling appointments. They say an eye exam will take approximately 1 hour. My elderly mother was there for almost 2. She spent half of the time waiting in the hall. Paying for someone else to be in with the doctor. Didn't even seem to care that they had double booked.. saying only that sometimes clients appointments over lap. We ran out of time to look at glasses. So we will be going somewhere else to purchase glasses.

Unfortunately writing about a negative experience for both myself and my partner. We both came to this clinic for an eye exam as new patients. The service was good and the doctors were very kind. However, when we both proceeded to purchase new glasses using the prescriptions we were given, we came to realize there was something terribly wrong with the prescriptions. Both my partner and I could not tolerate the new prescription lenses we were given. When my partner had his glasses inspected by a local eyeglass shop to ensure they had been made correctly, the optician advised that he should have never been given that prescription as it was over double in strength from his previous - and he had no issues seeing with his previous prescription! Unfortunately, we are now both out $100+ for lenses that are no good. When I called the FYI to see if they could reassess the prescriptions we were given, I was advised that we would both need another brand new eye exam, with the next available appointments many months down the road. These eye exams would come at full cost, another $100+ each. Hence the costs paid for our initial exams were a complete waste. Unfortunately, we have lost our trust in this clinic and will be going elsewhere for ongoing optical care.

I’m very impressed with all aspects of this office after having an eye exam with Dr. Erickson. The exam itself was very efficient and her explanations were thorough yet concise. I was even more impressed with the professionalism of Meagan, the staff member who performed a number of tests on my eyes. Again, very efficient, but also extremely thorough with in-depth explanations of what we were doing and why. When I had to come back a month later for more tests, Meagan again performed them and I was just as impressed the second time around. The office staff who helped me look at frames were also very informative and thorough with their explanations, especially about the lens options. I wish I had gotten their names so that I could compliment them specifically, but since I didn’t, I’ll just say bravo to all of the staff there for the exemplary treatment I received.

In early August, I went for an eye exam with Dr. Sean Laycock in order to get new prescription glasses. All went well. They have many safety protocols in place during this time of COVID. After the eye exam, Tanya helped me pick out two pair of glasses, one pair of regular glasses, the other sunglasses. Tanya spent a lot of time with me and she was very thorough. I was told the glasses would take two weeks to process and get to me. Just after the required time, I went back to get my regular glasses fit. Unfortunately, the sunglasses had taken a mistaken side trip across the country. After more than a month of waiting, I asked for my money back for the sunglasses (never did get them) which they refunded. There was also a payment mix up, but that was straightened out. Personally, I will not be going back to FYI at Skaha Lake. Sept 24, 2020 I would like to edit my previous review. In mid-September, Dr. Laycock made contact with me and expressed his concern for how the process of getting my prescription glasses to me had failed. Dr. Laycock wanted to rectify the situation and try to make the process better for everyone. After much discussion, I am satisfied that FYI Penticton has the best intentions for their patients, showing concern and professionalism for the best eye care that they can give. I will return for my continued eye care and health of my eyes. Thanks Sean, for your kindness.

Fantastic service and facilities. The Doctor actually came in on her day off to see my wife. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great selection of eyewear too. 10/10 would reccomend.
