I can't say enough about this store and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a credible location to have their eyes looked after! The staff are so friendly and patient, they really went the extra mile to make sure the entire process of choosing a pair of frames was easy and actually fun! Choosing the perfect pair of frames was very important to me and I was so impressed with the excellent customer service I received from the managers Cerinia and Hana. They were so kind and fantastic to deal and I am really looking forward to going back to buy a second pair of frames in the future! Dr Zahiri was extremely kind, professional and knowledgeable and willing to answer the millions of questions I had about my eyes in detail. I feel that I had a much needed thorough eye exam. Honestly THE BEST eye clinic that I’ve ever been to. Not only are they employees amazing and sweet, they are honest and extremely helpful. There not there just to make a pay check but they are there to genuinely help you get what you need and I’m the low cost to you possible. Best eye exam as well! I went over the reviews before booking my appointment. Glad to say that they are awesome, very friendly, extremely professional and super knowledgeable. Not sure why they would ever receive a one star rating. Revisited those one star rates. Uzma and Hazel, in particular, have never given anyone a positive review. Maybe is a them issue, not a retailer issue as one of them even seemed to be over the top spiteful and personal. Judge not lest ye be judged. Remember, how you approach people is how you will then be treated. The others seem to be one-offs. I will definitely keep going back!!! 5 STARS

My sister is very upset with the service at this store. She paid $189 for a frame. 3 months later the weld on the frame broke. Expecting there to be a one year warranty, she was very annoyed that she was made to pay an extra $42.71 to have the frame replaced. This was definitely a manufacturing defect. Very poor after care service at this store.

Is there anyone pay for pupil distance? I got my eye exam here and the doctor gave a prescription without PD. Having hard time to find glasses that fit on my face on there clinic decided to look online. I called today and asked for my PD but ended up for an appointment just to get PD with fee $50 ???? Is this legal? ???? hope someone help me out. Thanks

II have been going to 4750 Bank Street, Findlay Creek Eye Clinic for my glasses. I highly recommend this company. Cerinia helped me pick the perfect pair of coach frames. She is truly knowledgeable, professional, caring, and friendly. Cerinia has gone out of her way to make sure that I am satisfied with my glasses & prescription. Bought a pair of Armani prescription glasses. After lenses were done they didn’t fit my face correctly. Went to have them fixed and was sent to another Laurier optical that wasn’t able to fix the issue. The nose pads broke off after only a couple months. Went to get them fixed under warranty but they said they don’t fix that. 500$ pair of glasses in the trash.

The people are friendly here and the services are conducted professionally. My main concern with this location is the conscious practice on behalf of the optometrist to recommend services or prescription renewals that aren't necessary. For example, a few weeks ago my wife came home with receipts for retinal imaging for both of my children. This is not covered by OHIP and so we had to pay $20 each. My research has shown that this procedure should only be recommended in certain cases and certainly isn't necessary for every child to have done. Neither of my children have diabetes or have been diagnosed with retinal or optical nerve issues or another reason to require such a procedure. To me, this is unprofessional up-selling; my wife relied on the recommendation of the optometrist and I feel that the optometrist abused her position. The optometrist also diagnosed my daughter with 20/25 vision and said that if we don't get glasses for her then her eyesight will likely get worse. I was confused by this because I didn't believe that glasses could control vision changes like that -- they only correct for changes that the eye naturally has. Sure enough, that is what my research confirmed. They can correct for a lazy eye in certain cases but wearing glasses or not wearing glasses will not cause your vision to change. They can prevent eyestrain, which could result in tired eyes and headaches. A year or two ago I went in as well for a checkup and was told that my prescription had changed and I should get my glasses updated. I hadn't noticed any issues and so I asked the girl at the front desk to bring up my previous prescription. The difference was so slight that she said that I would hardly notice the improvement. This prescription would have cost me $400+ to enact. To me an optometrist has a professional responsibility to be candid and honest with patients. Don't recommend procedures when they aren't warranted. When recommending glasses, be completely honest about the benefits of going with them over not going with them.

The doctor who did my eye exam seemed polite and nice. But they didn't provide me with the PD. When I called in to ask if they could give me the PD, they said it'll cost me $20 because I didn't purchase any glasses at their store. I got my eye exam done at their place but apparently that doesn't count. A doctor who is measuring and testing everything about your eyes also doesn't measure the PD? Makes me wonder if the doctor performed other required tests or just gave me the prescription. Called in again to speak to the manager and see if they would give me the PD measurement, they said it'll cost me $50. So clearly they're just making up their prices as they feel like. Would not recommend going to them.

They came to my rescue, by updating my prescription and getting me some new (restoring my vision!), all in a couple of days. The pricing was fair and reasonable. The service was exceptional. I recently visited Laurier Optical - Findlay Creek Ottawa location and let’s just say I am disgusted. I am a 28 year old Black Muslim Woman so I am pretty used to different systems of oppression. However, one of the staff (women in a black sweater) at this location has taken it to a whole different level using Covid measures to limit my access to essential resources. We walked in this morning in hopes of finding a frame and purchasing lenses. I was told by staff that they could only allow four people in the store which I understood and she mentioned it was okay for now (because there were only 4 people in the store including us) however I was told we would have to leave to make room for other customers. At first, I was completely shocked and confused but nevertheless turned a blind eye and continued browsing anyways. As more people entered the store I thought the staff would be sharing that same message to everyone but it was clear that it was only targeted towards me and my sister. Lucky the location had two other staff who were also minorities they tried to assist us the best way that they could. One staff (a woman wearing a hijab) offered us a bin to use and asked us to place glasses we tried on in the bin and told us to look around even though she was busy with other clients. The other staff who was also a Person of Colour was a trainee at the location who did everything she could to make the experience better for us. She helped assist us throughout. She was in training therefore she had to ask the other staff (woman in black sweater) for guidance. In return, the staff (black sweater) completely ignored her and treated her with disrespect instead of supporting her and answering her questions. The staff (black sweater) spoke down to her and tbh that is why I am writing this review. First of all, if the trainee is reading this I want her to know as a POC I am so proud of her and she needs to know that we need people like her in the field hopefully I can tell her in person when we pick up the glasses. Secondly, I am writing this because this company has clearly failed to train their employees. It’s legit 2022 and here we are. You and your staff need to do better. I can’t imagine what others might have experienced trying to get basic essential services and resources. You should be ashamed. Update: I was contacted by the store (the doctor) to clarify what happen today. The doctor explained their Covid policy and took the time to reach out but in the end this entire experience was disgusting and I would not recommend this location to anyone. Also instead of getting an apology and being ensured this wouldn't happen again. I was told that the staff that ruined our experience today was also a minority (which doesn't even matter tbh) and I was also asked to delete my post. I think this explains everything and If you are reading this I advise you to find a different clinic.

Top notch service and products. I shopped around quite a bit before deciding on this location. They not only gave me the cheapest price for my glasses but they also had the best service. The girls who helped me took their time and were very knowledgeable. They also found me the perfect pair of glasses without breaking the bank! I got so many compliments on them that I sent a lot of referrals their way. Their eye exam was $70 and their optometrist was very professional and answered all my questions. She had all update equipment and was very thorough. She came highly recommended by another patient who was in the office, so I had my eye exam done there as well. Couldnt be happier. We want to share our terrible experience with Mona who is one of the owners, at Findlay Creek Eye Clinic Laurier, and sister of Dr Zahiri. She blamed us for their automated booking system reminder which either was messed up or was not set up accurately. I was advised my appointment was at 2 pm (as per phone call and text) however she said it was 1:40 pm. Then when I showed her my phone, she said the reminder for my daughter was sent to my husband’s phone which he never got. Texts were sent in my cell for each and every individual in my family except my daughter’s was associated with my husbands number she said which did not make any sense! Mona was super super rude yelling at customers & children in front of her staff and sister Dr Zahiri! Her sister tried to calm her down but Mona did not listen to anyone! Previously also we have witnessed her behaving ill with other clients! Instead of apologizing to her customers she was swearing and asked to get out of the store. Very very rude and unprofessional! She always fakes receipts and charges customers more than what other stores quotes! No after sale service for frames and prescriptions over $500! I have never ever seen such bad client service in this industry ever!

I'm so happy my vision is in the care of these wonderful women! Last year, in a panic, I came in with crazy vision problems, lack of color etc. They fit me in last minute for a medical exam and thankfully the doctor wanted more answers -- referred me to the general hospital staff. To my dismay, I was found to have optic neuritis. which led to an MRI, which led to my MS diagnosis. Fast forward to 1 year later...Almost to the day! The upmost compassion and consideration, this team was saddened to hear what transpired (its hard to follow up after the referral is done) but was glad to see me doing MUCH better. gave extra time for my screening and explanation to what they look for etc. Stayed an extra hour picking out new frames with the girls and gifted extra goodies ;) SO happy to have this team behind me! Went to this place and found 5 frames that I loved. They're so up to date with the styles and the staff is amazing. Not very honest about their eye exam pricing. I did my eye exam last month. After I went home, I noticed the the PD number isn't there as I want to order eye glasses online. I called back and was notified that I need to pay $50 more for the PD number. Are you kidding? If you really want to use that clinic, make sure you ask for all the costs up front.

The doctor was very friendly and took the time to answer my questions and was very knowledgeable. When it came time to choose frames - Serena is the BEST! I rarely write online reviews, but felt it was important to do so. Dr. Zahiri is one of the most calm, knowledgeable and compassionate people I have ever met. I truely felt that she really cared about me and my entire wellbeing (which is so different than my previous experiences with other doctors). I am so disappointed. My husband lost his glasses and we were fortunate enough to get an appointment for today at 330 pm. We live 40 minutes from them and have a newborn. We had to arrange the day around the appointment and my husband drove all the way there to see a sign on the door saying there was a power outage. I have never known a business to not phone and let clients know they are cancelling appointments for the day. To make someone drive out after sending a reminder text for the appointment and then to be closed is such poor business. When you miss an appointment as a client you are still charged, so why can they not offer the same curtesy for clients. It was a 40 min drive there and back of gas money during Covid when things financially are tight for people, I am surprised by this truly.

DO NOT GO HERE!! Zahiri got my prescription wrong twice so I went to a different doctor. Wouldn't reimburse me for the glasses because the (RIGHT) prescription was from a different clinic. Zahiri wouldn't even come out front so I could discuss it. She hid in of her "office." She got her staff, who is her sister, to deal. I don't know where they are getting all the 5 stars... I'm guessing from their friends.

My appointment was January 19, 2021, when I arrived, I was greeted with a warm and friendly welcome. I was given a form to fill out then introduced to the Optometrist, she too was amazing, everything was explained and NEVER rushed me. I felt then I was having a great eye exam. I got a call 4 days later to pickup my glasses, there was two sets, one was for reading the other for distance, the product and satisfaction was 100%. Wanted to share my terrible experience with this business. We had purchased the expensive nano glasses for my son and took the warranty which included repair if the lenses were to get scratched. At the time of sale the warranty feature was really recommended. When we went back to use the warranty we were told that it was too late and we need to pay $450 dollars to repair them. Now my son is stuck with scratched glasses with a useless warranty. Please let your customers know in advance about warranty details especially your repeat ones.

I live in Orleans and drive to Findlay Creek every 2 years to see Dr Zahiri because she is the best doctor I've ever seen. She has been seeing me and my whole family for 6 years now and somehow diagnosed my dad with a condition that even his family doctor did not detect. The store had a great selection of frames and even their sale frames are current styles unlike other stores.
