Terrible experience. Awful, argumentative staff. Arrived at the store at 10am and waited 20 minutes for the man working to arrive and open the store. Another (more polite) associate told us he’s late every day. He did not have our records on file and said we have never been there before even though we had been there Several times in the past 4 years. We chose instead to go to a different place down the street and had the polar opposite experience. Don’t waste your time here; customers deserve to be treated better!

Came in looking for sunglasses with Manulife insurance information and prescription in hand. Having checked into our plan, I knew I had some coverage for sunglasses and would see reimbursement of an amount. Sales person "Adam" proceeded to argue with me that I would not, unless I would allow the store to A. replace the lenses in the sunglasses, or B. purchase a separate set of readers, which I wasn't in the market for. The whole experience came to feel so unnecessarily awkward. He did offer me what seemed an attractive package deal, being from out of town, he quickly took that off the table when I explained that I was not certain when I'd be able to pick up a set of readers, and apparently shipping them a whole hour away is too big a hurdle for the store to manage. As the store began to fill, and line ups longer, he did offer to sell me the sunglasses I desired at a reasonable price, but again warned that I wouldn't see any reimbursement. He claimed that if I were to read the "fine print" I would discover that I am not eligible. Well, guess what, I was reimbursed and without issue. I am in the customer service industry myself and let me tell you - where I come from, if I treated my customers like you did me, I wouldn't have any left. Word gets around. You sir need a lesson on being straight up with your customer. Was your failed high pressure sales tactic for a chance at a few extra bucks worth a 1 star review?

I recently needed a pair of lenses switched out in my Ray Ban sunglasses which proved to be a slightly tough pair to insert but Roger at Ritson Optical managed to get them to work. The staff was welcoming and ready to assist anyone that walked in the door. Great experience.

My family and I have been coming here for YEARS. Unfortunately, the customer service has changed drastically which is why I’ve decided to leave as a customer. I had my eyes tested and was then told my prescription changed slightly. From there I’ve had nothing but problems, struggling with my vision. My new RayBan glasses (which cost me well over $300) have caused my vision to feel blurry, specifically in the right eye. When I let Adam and the eye doctor know, they told me to wear my glasses for a week straight and then see how I feel. This was well over a month ago and I am STILL struggling at night while driving and while watching tv. The doctor assured me the prescription is correct. If it’s correct and so slight, why am I still experience blurry vision? Why did I just pay $300+ for lenses and frames that don’t benefit my vision? I’m beyond upset that after years of service I’m just dusted off like nothing. Side note: I asked Adam not once, not twice, but THREE times for a trial pair of new contact lenses after he suggested the new brand to me. Adam assured me that he’d order the pair so I could try them before buying them. He did not deliver. Again, not once, not twice, but three phone calls from myself asking Adam for the contact lenses. A long term, loyal customer that pays thousands of dollars over the years should NEVER, EVER chase the service or product. Ever. To say I am disappointed is to say the least. Myself and my family will never deal with Ritson Optical ever again.

I'm writing this review on behalf on my Mother in Law whos family has been going to once known as Nema Optical now Ritson Optical for many years. They make you feel so comfortable and are such pleasant people, we tell everyone we know about them. We also find they have such a great selection of glasses and are so willing to take as much time as it takes to choose the right glasses for you. If you need new glasses definitely go check them out.
