CAUTION: 3 Hour wait is the norm here. This place is RIDICULOUS!! They book way too many patients for the ONE DOCTOR that doesn’t care about making old people wait for three hours in order to get seen by him. I’ve been STANDING in the THIRD waiting room now for over an hour and a half!! There are 42 people in this waiting room right now - and another 12 in the front waiting room!! This doctor only cares about filling the rooms up so he can bill OHIP! He doesn’t care about his patients. DONT ACCEPT THIS PLACE FROM YOUR PRACTIONER - HAVE THEM SUGGEST ANOTHER CLINIC!!

Ginette Lamoureux

Currently have been waiting 3.5 hours, having been told it should be about 2 hours on arrival (already longer than the hour I would expect). Bring food, water, and a diversion. You get shuffled from waiting room to waiting room along with dozens of others. Huge waste of people's time. Also difficult to focus on tests when weak with hunger. No idea whether the care is good or not but if the customer service is any indication it's not looking great.

Waiting time at least 4 hours

Waiting time is a killer talk about 2 to 3 hours.... yeahh sooo much fun

Lynn Sutton

inexcusable waiting time. After an annual check up was rebooked to a saturday I sat waiting for 3 1/2 hours in a stuffy hot noisy waiting room. When I went to ask the receptionist how much longer I found that she had left for the day. I saw at least a dozen elderly patients still waiting ahead of me so I left without seeing the doctor. Most patients here are elderly, it is inexcusable to make them or anyone wait so long for scheduled appointments. There are plenty of other ophthamologists to see that have respect for their patients. If I could give this clinic negative stars i would

Wait times are awful. My dad waited from 9:30 am to 3:04 to have his cataract surgery. The wait after till 5 to go home I understand. However a diabetic having to wait till after 4 to eat is not right. Ridicules wait times!

Bonnie Visagie

This place is stupid. Just stupid. I’ve been here with my mom several times. I always have to take a whole day off work. (And that costs me a day of pay!) We are always on time for our appointments and we wait 2.5 - 4 hours!!!! for the appointment. The whole procedure takes about 2 minutes. I don’t understand why they can’t gets their heads together and book properly. There’s no excuse for this. The only reason I can think of is so that they can justify billing OHIP the 1500.00 dollars for one injection... I guess it’s easier to bill 1500.00 dollars for an appointment that takes 3-4 hours than an appointment that actually takes 3-4 minutes!!!!!!

Ron Willmot

I have been getting treatment from Dr Salyani for the past few years. I have diabetic retinopathy and if wasn’t for his treatment I would be blind today. Yes, sometimes it is a long wait but well worth it considering I still have my sight. I find the all the staff to be polite and professional. I have witnessed on several occasions, extremely rude behaviour by patients or their relatives. I really commend the staff for putting up with such offensive behaviour

aDi

Customer not important, you need to sit there for hours until they let you in. if you called them to book appointment the worse I just called agent told me hold, I'm on hold for 8 minutes now, for sure the agent talking to her colleague forget about handling my call. It is 15 minutes now and nobody ... I give up

Steve Rowe

Friendly staff. State-of-the-art facility. Thorough testing. Overall good experience.

Joe Spineto

On the phone 45 min, because 4 ahead of me. Left message, they say leave only 1 Left several and will continue to do so all day. Cancelled all my appointments. Have found others to be a lot better. This is a crying shame MInUS 5 is the best I get this outfit

susan faria

Dr. Salyani did my mom's cataract removal and I have to say he is the best in the business. He is supper polite and so easy to interact with, I would recommend him to anyone who needs an eye surgery, he is amazing. Thanks

Mark Kerwin

I am so thankful for my eye care with Dr Asif Salyani and staff and it’s so great to have my eyes with vision even with my type 1 diabetes - top notch doctor and caring team

Fariah faisal

bad waiting times . no consideration for the ill .

Omar Mohamed

Great staff. Amazing doctor!

They have changed my Appointment without any notification then I was waiting for 45 minutes to get in. Non professional staff. Rude staff. They don’t know what they are doing. This place should be closed. Our taxes are being used for non professional service.

Sarah Stewart

AVOID AT ALL COSTS Would give zero stars if possible. Everyone who works here should be ashamed of themselves. They clearly take advantage of people by MAJORLY overbooking themselves everyday. I have never been here for less than 4 hours, in the 15+ appointments my MIL has had. I understand doctors running behind occasionally, things happen, but the amount of time you'll be waiting is absolutely ridiculous, the people who work here must have no conscience.

E. Holmes

I’d give 0 stars if I could. The wait time for this office is CRAZY. Seems like they book 10 people for the same time slot. Be prepared to wait 3 hours. 17 people in the waiting room to see 1 doctor. I was on time for my appt ... waited an hour and only 2 people in all that time were called. 3 other waiting rooms once you get that far. I had to leave and not even see the doctor. I also had the eye drops for nothing. Will never return to this place.

Harrison Fisher

Tash and SamT were so friendly and hospitable. They know their stuff and ensured all my questions and concerns were taken care of. My glaucoma is cured!

Suzb

The wait time when you have a scheduled appointment is excessive we have been sitting here for an hour and a half! And this is a morning appointment i would hate to see the wait in the afternoon. They have no concept of respecting peoples time.

Natalie Boulay

Nothing short of a nightmare of an experience. No wonder they never respond to reviews online totally indefensible practice stream lined for their convenience. The whole practice is designed to wait multiple stages multiple wait rooms and a complete over booking of patients to use every seat and then some. Anyone with any alternative suggestions please advise because this is a last resort option!

Darryl Burke

Be prepared to wait a LONG time. This place is brutal. Wait 3 Months for an appt and then 3+ hours when you get here. Ask you Dr for another place to go.

Manoj Subhadevan

Avoid this place! Was referred here in July for a suspected retinal tear- got the appointment in December- thought the delay was to see the Doctor- turns out it was to do a series of tests- (CAD$150 if cash else $160). Was told will get a call back after Doctor sees the test results. Got a call after 4 days - suggested to book appointment in April 2022. I asked for the test results- answer was - book the appointment and you can discuss the result, we will not share the results. there are other reviews where the clinic refuses to share the test results. Avoid this place. It seems like a scam run by the clinic owner (possibly not the Doctor)

Daniela Sosa

The wait time is crazy. It makes having an appointment fruitless since the whole point of an appt. is to decrease the waiting time for patients. I would recommend asking your doctor for another place to go.

Megan Price

Been waiting for over 3 hours and it is clear to me that this doctor is only in it for the money. I work in a doctors office and we only schedule patients as we can see them (e.g ONE patient every 15 mins) NOT 3-4 patients every 5-10 minutes. There are probably over 30 people waiting to be seen right now, 99% of them elders, UNACCEPTABLE. I will never come back to this doctors office. Extremely unprofessional and not the definition of a good doctor.

ray niccolini

I returned from a trip recently and the Doctors where not comfortable attending to my eye issue, the Professional offices of Medical Eye Consultants seen me at 1 P.M. and repaired my eye at 3:30 that same day. No messing around here, extremely professional. As for the waiting time, this isn’t a fast food drive through, there is a reason you wait hours, instead of having you come back and to recheck , you wait the required minimum time, this saves you another trip next day, fantastic for the seniors or the people driving them around…next time Ask the staff and they will explain it…love the Doctors that enjoy what matters client care!

Stephanie Kotsopoulos

They just don't care about their patients time. 3+ hours is a norm here. The only doctor spends not more than 5 minutes per patient at the same time... Can't explain this phenomenon.. .. When I have to visit this office I mentally prepare myself to waste the whole day...

Bob Lepp & Associates

Simply perfect! I now see perfectly in both eyes after 59 years wearing glasses. I cannot describe the pure joy of seeing life without a frame and smudged glasses. No steaming up. This is transformative. It is beyond my comprehension how complaints such as those below could be made by adults. The offices of every good doctor are always swamped, we EXPECT that. And COVID-19 threw every doctor a curve, especially surgeons who had no idea how it was spreading. So they canceled everyone and closed. If they were less than professional, their waiting room would be empty. It’s often pretty much full. Keep in mind the happy patients given new eyeballs don’t then waste time posting Google reviews...they are out seeing things again, as they did as teenagers. I now see stars, tiny stars clear as, well, clear as a star. I get shivers thinking of it. What surgeons do you know who can completely transform your life? When you search out restaurants, do you choose the empty one with three waiters looking bored? When you go looking for new eyes, would you pick a surgeon with an empty waiting room and three receptionists to choose from? Think about that. Thank you doctors and staff! I’ll think of you every time I use my eyes!

Cathy Fraser

Had an appointment at 7:30 am. Had the tests done and saw the Doctor and was home again by 8:45. The staff are amazing and everything was done very professionally. Masks were worn and the equipment was wiped down and sanitised between patients. Very positive experience!

DR SAYANI

Excellent professional service. Very courteous staff and friendly.

Miss Melissa48

My appointment time was for 12:40 and I waited to see the Dr around 4pm! The worst wait time ever! Why wait so long when all tests were done no more then 20 minutes at best?? I am diabetic and almost had to leave I would never recommend this place.

Barb Steele

In all my experiences with private clinics as well as those that are public, I have never seen such horrible customer service. I was referred to them by Costco, twice and had to wait months and months for an appointment. I cannot call them to get an answer to confirm my appointment and I have found them to be extremely rude and abrupt on the phone. How they remain in business after all theses bad reviews is amazing to me. If they don't call me back, I will find somewhere else to go.

I was referred by my son-in-law and my daughter for my eye check up with Dr. Asif Salyani of Medical Eye Consultants. Dr. Asif Salyani explained to me in details all that I need to know about my cataract and after a series of tests, regarding my eye condition, I feel very comfortable to the point that I felt like I am a member of his family. Dr. Asif is very professional and an excellent Doctor. Thank you Dr. Asif. The clinic sfaff are amazing, health, safety protocols and guidelines were followed and the facilities are neat and clean. Definitely I’m going to recommend your clinic to my family and friends. To Dr. Asif and to the staff of Medical Eye Consultant. Thank you very much for your fantastic service and world class assistance.

Luke Seo

I would give lower score if I could. Worst experiences everytime I come back for my eye injection. I even got retina bleeding from one of their assistant. Usually one to two hour waiting or more. No help for senior citizens. They didn't give me my change back. By the way they charge you 5 dollars more if you use Interac. How is it even still legal to do that? Not enough seats because there are dozens of people waiting in each corner. This is living hell. Avoid this place like a plague. Go to Toronto, go to US, poke your eyes out if you could. Just avoid this place. Do not be one of us victims.

Costume time is not considered. I was on time for the appointment, as always, and had to wait 2 hours to see a doctor. Waiting room packed with lots of old people standing... it was doctor lunch time. I count 34 people waiting. Also, there's always a follow up... that we pay. Never a clear diagnostics... just the regular medical services scam.

Adam Chan

I've been here several times in the past few years. The wait times are hideous. Why bother even having appointments...?

Michael E

Long wait times, appointments are pointless. Doctor to cheap to use freezing when giving needles in the eye. He did it the 1st few times, then decided freezing drops would be enough, it's not. Been here once a month for 12 months, every time was a 3+ hour wait. Also the debit cost extra, this is not a mom and pop convenience store, you don't think you make enough money? Do not go here if avoidable!

Lorne Burns

No stars place only wants money, DO NOT GO!!!

Michelle Angove

Have been trying to get the Doctor or staff to email prognosis for my Dad. Been coming here for over a year and still no one has emailed as they say they will. Checked Junk and Spam and never an email. Everything has been blamed on "COVID-19" and with an elderly parent who doesn't know to ask which questions let alone remember what is said and not being allowed into the appointment to speak with the Doctor directly is more than frustrating.

Ehsan Foroughi

I have tried calling this place 50 times. 8 messages over 2 months time. Nobody ever picks up any phone or returns any messages. Our referral was faxed long time ago and we never received any appointment.

Cathy Gifford

I will be telling my regular eye doctor not to recommend anyone else to this place. First appt, was very impressed til it came time for the procedure. My daughter took my 86 year old mother for her procedure. After the procedure they sent her out by herself to the waiting room. She had to sit for a half hour to make sure everything was ok. No paperwork of what to expect. Gave her a prescription for eye drops. Told her to make a follow up appt, trouble is the reception staff are gone at 4:00. My daughter said it was like cattle going one after another. One poor man was there with his elderly wife and she half carried him out of the place. Surely to goodness there are better places than this in York Region.

If I could give 0, I would. I waited 3 hours and 5 minutes in the waiting room. I sat from when my appointment was scheduled at 12:30 and I sat there until 3:35 before seeing someone I was in their office for 6 minutes before being rushed out the door. Now nobody answers the phone

Camille Brown

I have patiently been waiting for over three months to find out if my referral has been made to St. Micheals after being told I have eye disease and need cross-link surgery. When calling the office to follow up I at first was told there were no notes and the receptionist had to speak with the doctor, who conveniently only works specific days. Also was informed at the same time my results for a specific test were not on the notes... I have yet to receive a phone call back, have left several messages, I received a diagnosis and have been left in the dark since.... patient care is terrible. I suggest finding another specialist as it appears this office is ignorant or unorganized... maybe both? Still waiting for that call back... still cant see appropriately... I would love to get a better review, however, professionalism has to happen first.

20/20 in 2020 !! Thank you Dr. Salyani for curing my blindness. Your laying on of hands is second to none. Your skill most certainly surpasses any prophet of old. Words can only fall short of expressing my deepest appreciation for the new lease on life that you have given me. Cataracts struck me severely in my forties. No family history, no physical trauma, no predisposition, and no hope. At time of diagnosis in early 2020, my right eye was at “1,000%” and my left eye was at “100%”, well on its way to being “1,000%” too by next year. I was blind before 50. As time passed, the cataracts got worse faster and faster. The impact on my ability to function was very serious indeed. My livelihood consists of reading and writing, dozens of hours every week. The referral to Dr. Salyani literally saved my life, no exaggeration at all. I was wearing glasses for over 40 years. Not only did Dr. Salyani cure my cataracts, but he also cured me of my glasses altogether. It is a miracle that I do not need to wear glasses anymore! Furthermore, the entire team at Medical Eye Consultants is professional, conscientious, and effective. The literature and counselling provided was clear and comprehensive, making me comfortable with the doctor's strongly recommended procedure for my case. Dr. Salyani, you assume such a profound responsibility with the work that you do. Your patients are truly blessed thanks to you. Happy New Year !!

Stanislav Dinkelis

They totally don’t care about getting new clients, and not only that. It takes quite a time to get hold of them over the phone, which they claim is normal, you have to leave a message and they will get back to you. I don’t know about that, I didn’t hear any prompt at all, just beeps and then it switched to a fax machine. I physically went to their office trying to explain I had previously emailed the referral from the family doctor and guess what! Unsuccessfully! The lady at the reception just didn’t seem to even try to understand such a basic thing. This all just gave me a strong impression they totally don’t give a s#^% and I simply walked away. I’d have rated it zero stars if there was such an option. You seriously should consider going elsewhere for your vision matters.

Karen Dallimore

I took my dad for some diagnostic tests and we were taken in right on time, treated professionally and kindly by two technicians, and had the visit completed in about 50 minutes. We were supposed to make a follow up appointment on our way out but one patient was being extremely rude to the technician and she asked if she could follow up with us by phone.

Catherine Shin

Gah, I should have read the previous reviews before agreeing to make an appointment here. We were booked in for 11:20 am slot and we're still waiting now at 1:20 PM. It would be nice for the receptionist to keep the patients informed of the wait time so people can make arrangements about food...etc. I asked the receptionist multiple times for wait time as my mom has diabetes and can't wait indefinitely without grabbing a quick bite before she can be seen. She has ignored my requests so far and this is just terrible customer service.

This place is a joke. My apt was scheduled for 8:10. It’s 9:38 am and the doctor still hasn’t arrived yet. There are 8 of us in the waiting room, and yes that’s right, THE DOCTOR ISNT HERE YET! I asked the girl at reception, when the doctor will be here. She said he doesn’t start till 9:30 am and they can re schedule me if I like. Why on earth would you schedule me for 8:10, and he arrives in the office an hour and 20 minutes after my scheduled apt ?!!!?? She then said my apt was actually for 8:50. Which isn’t true because whoever called to confirm my apt two days ago, said it was for 8:10!!!!!!!!! They over book people for fun. The pre testing before you see the doctor takes all of 5 minutes. Choose somewhere else people ! This place is a joke. Customer service is not a thing here !!!!!! Expect to be here for 3 hours because they over bookkkkkkkkkk !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sue husssain

Very busy with long wait time. Staff are unprofessional and don't like answering any questions and their so called doctors are just as bad. I guess the doctors get paid handsomely by the OHIP regardless of the amount of time they spend with patients , so they try to spend the least amount of time without explaining any thing. I am very disappointed and frustrated with this place. It's not an office, it's more like a factory.

Tanveer Sandhu

Owner is to cheap to hire more doctors

Emily Groves

This place is absolutely terrible. My mothers appointment was scheduled for 930am. They called some Yahoo who took her to her last appointment and notified them that the time for the appointment has changed not my mother who is the patient! We arrived at 710 to find all the doors locked. She wasnt seen or operated on until well after 1030am. Nurses and staff had no clue what was going on when asked questions about wait times etc. They were rude and snippy. We didnt get the okay to leave until after 1pm. I was in utter disbelief over how disorganized this surgical facility is and was. Will not be taking my mother there ever again.. and I will be passing along my opinion on to anyone who considers this place for their loved ones. Hugely disgusted.

Bruce Lee

clearly dysfunctional. avoid if you value your time. i would give them no stars if it was an option.

james lavers

Went in for a OHIP covered procedure. The doctor did "additional work" which was not covered by OHIP...but never mentioned it to me until after all the work was done. Gave me a surprise $300 parting gift without even getting consent.

cgorgan

I see that a lot of people are upset with wait times, but you have to understand that with any Doctor the previous patient might take more time than anticipated. I just had laser cataract surgery at the beginning of July and had my follow-up yesterday with Dr. Hassanlou. I was in and out within an hour. My surgery was a total success and I now have 20/20 vision. Prior to surgery I was wearing two pairs of glasses and could not see a thing if I didn't have them on for both reading and distance. This is an amazing pace for any of your eye problems with more than qualified doctors.

Chris Roots

I have been going to Dr Saliani for the past 7 years and he has saved my sight. I find him to be professional. He is an expert in his field and worth waiting for.

Eunice S. Lee

Extremely poor to no response to emails and no follow up calls for appointments booked months ago.

Caleb Mortley

This place is awful. My wife and I were sent here the see an ophthalmologist after her optometrist had found swelling on her optic nerves. The first time we went it seemed pretty standard, my wife did some tests, and we went into the ophthalmologist’s office. The technician came in, grabbed my wife’s head without saying anything, and pried her eyes open to put in eye drops in. Then ran back out of the room and was complaining loudly to other technicians. We finally saw the doctor and he said there was some swelling, sent her for a CT, and we’d come back in a few months to see progress. We went back in a few months, the ophthalmologist said the CT showed nothing, and everything was fine. Yay! But wait, we went to a neurologist after, just in case, and it turns out that my wife has a rare chronic illness called idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), where her body produces too much spinal fluid and it was pushing in her optic nerves and causing them to swell. Thankfully the neurologist sent us to an ophthalmologist who knows what they’re doing and she has since been able to work with this illness thanks proper medication and a change in diet. TLDR: Ophthalmologist told my wife she was fine, but she actually has a rare brain disease.

Not professional at all. The average waiting time is ridiculous 3hrs!!!!!

This was my second experience with Medical Eye Consultants. The first time I was sent to their Pickering location (40 mins away from where I live), I waited for 2 hours only to be told that they did not have the machines I needed at that location and I would have to schedule another appointment at their Newmarket location (an hour and 10 mins from me). I was furious but needed the scans done and after speaking with my optometrist she suggested I go because they gave me a close appointment date. My second experience was equally as awful as when I arrived I was asked about a different picture that wasn't covered by OHIP and would cost me $85. It was optional but after some debate I decided to have the picture done. I had the picture taken fairly quickly to my arrival but the scan I went for wasn't being done. I waited for an hour and 50 mins before seeing the doctor who then informed me the machine I needed wasn't working properly. He said it was a good thing I had paid for the picture because he could give me a diagnosis with that. So had I not paid out of pocket I would have driven and waited yet again for nothing. I feel like someone could have seen that the machine wasn't working and tried to reschedule with me, or even told me when I checked in that it wasn't working; as I mentioned my first experience to the receptionist. I will never go back and I'm sorry I didn't listen to the other poor reviews when I was booked in. If you are recommended to go here by your optometrist ask to be referred somewhere else.

Maybe a mis-understanding on my part, but a "CALL-CENTER", seems to mean "GENERAL MAILBOX". Not sure if any person(s), work in the "CALL-CENTER." Have been trying every 10 minutes for the past hour, just to get an live attendant to answer.

David Bedford

I can't say enough great things about this Team. Led by the incredibly skilled Dr Salyani, he and his medical team went above and beyond to ensure I was informed about my condition, what steps were needed to save my sight, and helped to dramatically decrease my stress regarding the whole situation. Having a ton of emotional, mental and physical trauma laid out before a person can be extremely overwhelming, especially when it's beyond that persons capability to fix it. The MEC team helped ease me into the transition with the utmost care and consideration, stressing their empathy along the way. I know for certain that I am able to resume my life as I knew it (driving, working, reading, etc), due to the efforts of the MEC team. and them alone. Professionalism and empathy are at the core of this group and I am more than happy to sing their praises because of it. Thanks so much for your kindness and care, DTB ps- For those complaining about wait times, you might want to consider a little patience here. The fact that a specialist could spend 10 mins on each patient (6 people per hour), and you wouldn't want them rushing and cutting corners on YOUR eyes... your 3 hr+ wait time is most likely warranted. So please, take a seat and be grateful you're only losing a day of mild inconvenience, rather than a lifetime of precious sight.

Ed Richards

I have been a patient of Dr. Salyani since October 2019 and receive regular eye injections at the Newmarket location. I find him to be a caring, considerate and professional specialist in the handling of my eye treatments. I have complete confidence and trust that under his care my eyes, and my ability to continue having the necessary vision to carry on all of the many activities I am involved in, is being well looked after. I find the support team staff at this Newmarket location to be excellent and well chosen people who are very friendly and professional. My regular visits witness them treating clients with care, compassion and a friendly smile and they always seem ready to offer help to anyone who needs it. It gives the impression of being a good working environment. I am pleased that through my optometrist back in 2019 I was referred to the retina specialist I needed to take care of my eyes.

Brett Salvisburg

Generally 3-4 hour wait time. No regard for proper health plan during pandemic. Wall to wall people. No sanitizing or cleaning what so ever between patients or social distancing.

Lisa Barbon

I had visited the Richmond Hill office in November 2019. The office was overcrowded and wait times absolutely unacceptable. They were very quick when processing my payment, which involved a discount of $10 per procedure if I paid cash. This was not mentioned when I called to make the appointment and makes me wonder why. Fast forward one year to November 11, 2020 for my annual visit. I selected this day as I had it off and knew that I would be spending hours waiting around. I called the office the week before to confirm the appointment as I had not received a follow up call. There is no option to speak to anyone. I left a message on Nov 8th with the hope that someone would call to confirm my appointment. No one did. I showed up at 8:30am on the 11th and the office was closed. I waited until 9:10 but no one showed up. Terrible experience and would not recommend.

galina gassan

Horrible customer service! They have no respect for peoples' time. Had surgery booked for 9am, and 2 hrs later they did not even take us for pre-op.... Said that where was an emergency surgery that put other surgeries behind...really...there are at least three operating doctors in here.....now i am reading other reviews and seeing that waiting for 2-3 hrs for your pre-booked surgery is a "norm" here.... Wish i knew it earlier....

Larry Jardine

Dr. Asif Salyani - Very, very competent and professional, including his staff! However, you will wait!

Sharon Toulouse

Went 3 times each time Dr. told me lens had slipped , but she could not do the required surgery, told me she would arrange a Dr. That did do his surgery, that was in July, have not heard anything from her despite leaving voice mails, can never speak to a human. So now I cannot read, and eye has like a film all the time.

Yang Nan

Saw Dr.Hassanlou in April who is a very professional. The only star is for her. Since my family doctor needed the report for further referral, I had to drove to the office 3 time in a month. Every time, I got different reasons for not transfer the report and was told issues had been fixed, FD would receive soon. But upon the 4th visit, the front desk lady told I had to pay $30 transmission. I asked her to talk the manager and was told the one would call me back. That happened by the end of May, I haven't got any call now.

Todd Sandbacka

No one at reception desk , crazy wait times they over book. We will Never use this clinic again.

Martha B

They overbook their appointments and have people waiting for hours to see doctor. Came twice for a follow up to have same tests done to see doctor. Unfortunately staff her the brunt of patients who have been waiting and not understanding why they're having tests done twice. Phone line is impossible to get through to change appointment

I wanted to write a review as these terrible reviews caused me to cancel my first appointment. I saw these reviews and called the eye doctor that referred me to ask why he was referring me to a place with terrible reviews. He assured me the doctor was very good and I should give it a try. So here was my review. Number 1 you are likely showing up to see a specialist because your eye doctor does not know what’s wrong. You should know specialist are not McDonald’s where you can find them at every corner. My appointment was set for 11:40am. I arrived at 11:40 and was greeted by friendly staff. Within 10 minutes I had an initial eye test with one of the many staff. After I went to a waiting area to have different eye scans. This was probably a 15-20 minute wait. After the eye scans you wait to see your specialist. This took maby 15-20 minutes. The eye specialist was very nice and helpful. She answered all my questions. Overall this is a very nice facility with friendly staff. It has a lot of moving parts and staff to match. Bring a book or your phone and have some patients. You are here because you may be having issues with your vision and you should exspect a bit of a wait to see a professional.

We have been seeing the Doctor for 7 years and have been very impressed with his compassion and expertise. Unfortunately since there are so many patients needing help and limited time to fit everyone in there is going to be wait times. Our population is aging and more people are having eye problems. Everywhere you go emergency - hospitals- doctors appointments - etc. there are long lines of people for all medical concerns. IF THE DOCTOR HAD NOT RESPONDED AND SAW MY HUSBAND IMMEDIATELY WHEN CONTACTED,. MY HUSBAND WOULD HAVE LOST HIS SIGHT!!!!! ALSO HIS OTHER EYE DEVELOPED THE SAME PROBLEM AND AGAIN THE DOCTOR RESPONDED IMMEDIATELY. It is a shame that waiting so long to see a doctor is a sign of the times, but we should be grateful that we have the doctor to help us.

Once you in the staff is GREAT!- BUT - Waiting 2 ½ - 3 hours is unacceptable for or a simple check that should take max 5 minutes. Why bother even having appointments...?

Donna Staffiere

Still waiting for simple pressure check that should take max 5 minutes. Waiting now 2 1/2 hours and haven't been called. Why make appointments if you can't see patients in a timely matter. Very disappointing!

Keep away from this place!!!! they are clearly in business to take advance of the elderly. Long story short they put false information in patient files so they could strong arm them into having unnecessary surgery , and when they were confronted they simply brushed it off and hurry you out of the office. I guess this clinics loss of revenue during Covid has to be made back by scheduling surgeries that are not required. There must be a Medical Board that looks into places like this.!!!!!! Too bad you have to enter a star to put in a review -100 was what I would enter

This place is horrible. Do not go to this place and the next office they have Mackenzie unit 410. They gave me an appointment and they were closed. I called them two times and they never get back to me. Customer service is the worthiest I ever had. My appointment was with Dr. Noordeh and it seems nobody cares about anything. Do not go with these people. They called me on April 10, 2019 and booked an appointment!!! I called them back that I missed you last time On Jan 11,2019. They said Dr. was not in Mackenzie and that's why the office were closed!! I asked why you did not call back. She said so much nonsense. I do not want to go with these rude people at all.

Customer service is non-existent here. 1. Wait time is ridiculously long. I had to wait 1.5 hours for a simple appointment. 2. Staff is not friendly at all 3. No one is explaining what is happening, what they are doing, what will happen next and how long it is expected to take 4. The doctor looked completely clueless when entering exam room not knowing where she was going and who was waiting for her 5. The doctor was rushing through the appointment not taking the time to explain anything Pick another clinic if you have a choice.

Reviews are perfect re this medical eye, waiting time outrageous, I had great surgery there and last appointment was told by surgeon if I had any change to make appointment. That was crazy, kept calling and was told there was cancellation. I called to confirm, went by cab this morning and was told the cancellation was for Pickering location. I am trying to see optometrists and I have documented all my calls and concerns this is so in acceptable, I will look into a new place and hope I do not have anything serious or will address it. Some staff are nice but some need training on how go great patients most who are seniors. They overbook or don't seem to give a damn, no problem with surgeon, but some needs to read these reviews and make changes

Wait times are brutal. You had better account for three hours for an eye exam.

Incompetent staff. Nurse added iodine to my husband eye after my husband told her the freezing wore off an hour earlier because the wait was so long. She added it anyway without freezing it causing a searing pain and demanded the doctor. Yes we took pictures. .2 months later were back for another 2 hour wait in the 3 section waiting room and still waiting currently. Expect to take the entire day off work for these appointments...bring a lunch, a pillow and a blanket...bring enough food to share with the other 75 people in line with you.. one doctor, a handful of technicians and secretaries who cannot seem to count how many patients should be booked in a day as to not cause an already unpleasant experience into and experience that makes having a root canal with no freezing a trip to happy land.

Excessive wait times are clearly a reflection of overbooking and reflects a lack of respect for the clients. There were obviously many elderly patients waiting. This clinic is putting these patients at a unneccessary risk to COVID.

Boom Boom

Automated phone system is ridiculously complex! Good luck trying to cancel a appointment. .

This doctor is arrogant and only cares about money. My husband had cataract surgery and ended up with a terrible infection. We ended up at st mikes hospital in Toronto and he has lost vision in that eye. The doctor was Dr Salyani. Other doctors seem ok.
