Here you will see all the information of real people who are buying the products of Bochner Eye Institute (Ophthalmologist) around Ontario area (Canada).
At present this business gets a rating of 4.4 over 5 and that rating was based on 92 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is very high, and it is founded on a very large number of reviews, so we may think that the assessment is very reliable. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they've done well, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to place opinions when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Ophthalmologist belongs to the category of Eye care center.
I had LASIK here last week. After shopping around all of the other laser eye centres in Toronto, I decided on Bochner because of their reputation and how friendly the staff was during my consultation. On the day of the surgery everything went great and the staff were polite, and so was Dr. Stein. I'm only giving 4 stars because I do think the whole process could slow down a bit during the day of surgery. Everyone was polite but things did feel a bit rushed, as if I was one of 50 patients they were seeing that day.
Forever grateful for their professionalism, communication skills and depth in tooling for helping me achieve a 20/20 vision again.
One can say how much the process costs for one eye
Cozy office space, convenient location, and great service.
I don't know how anyone can rate this assembly line higher than a one star! First you never actually get to meet or discuss any issues or concerns with an actual optometrist or Opthalmologist. Secondly they never ever follow-up and book your appointment because let's face it, they don't care! I've waited months to hear back with an appointment and have emailed a few times and after almost 6 months I have never heard back.
Comments on the administrative staff: Quite disappointed how the administrative staff screen calls. Trying to book to see my Doctor who did my cataract surgery a few years back as the eye that had complications is now very sore. After two attempts and much discussion I didn't walk away with an appointment. Contact your own optometrist I'm told and then phone us. They've been on strike.... do you know how long the wait list is? No calendar for my particular doctor for the rest of December or January....It's Dec. 9? Hard to understand. Then told, if you book with another doctor, you'll just have to come back and see you own doctor when I requested to see someone else in 2 months. They actually refused to give me an appointment. I have never had this experience before - quite unbelievable. Going around in circles. I have always held the Bochner Eye Institute in high esteem, but this talking around in circles with administrative staff is not only frustrating but unprofessional. Where is the customer service? The assistant even chuckled when I was frustrated. What is happening to the administrative quality of the Bochner Eye Institute.... very disappointing indeed! Certainly doesn't match the quality of the eye care that is provided even though I had complications. It should be of a higher quality than this and certainly more professional and compassionate. Is this the level that Bochner Institute wants to portray? I would hope not.
A consent form and information package were sent via email to go over important details, what you should expect before and after the procedure and activity restrictions. During these covid-19 times extra precautions are in place. I was called twice to confirm my appointment date and time and asked pre-screening questions. Morning of my procedure, once again, I was asked pre-screening questions via the intercom, had my temperature taken and then had a seat in the waiting room. The chairs have signs on them so that waiting patients are appropriately spaced out. Just a note that a companion is not allowed to wait for you in the waiting room. Only patients are allowed. You will have to be dropped off and picked up. A staff came to provide me a cap, gown, mask and shoe coverings before taking me for eye tests (like ones when you go to the optometrist), explained post operative instructions and gave me a pouch containing the eye drops that I would need following the procedure. Doctor Stein saw me for a few more tests and then I was taken downstairs for the procedure. I was in 2 rooms for the whole procedure and it went by pretty quick. As a short summary: my eyelids were held open with a device to ensure that there wouldn't be any blinking, I was told to look at the green light and given a countdown of the amount of time left during the procedure. In the info package there was a note that there may be an odour that's like burning hair and I did smell that but not to worry since the laser is a cold laser and there was no burning hair. I was feeling a bit woozy when getting up and going to the recovery room to rest but the assistants are there to guide you. Just prior to going to the recovery room there was an option of receiving a box of chocolates or a Toronto Maple Leafs cap as a gift. When your ride has arrived you leave through the back door and put your cap, gown, shoe coverings in the trash bin before leaving. Followup and checkups can either be done at Bochner or with your own optometrist. The next day my eyes were checked and I was informed that my eyes were healing well and that my vision would improve over the next couple of weeks. At my one week checkup I was advised that my vision was 20/20! and to continue with the eye drops. P.S. In the back reception there's a clear box to leave pairs of glasses to be donated P.S.S. This is not a cheap procedure but there is financing available

Had laser eye correction in 2014 and it was the best decision I have ever made. Dr Stein did my procedure and everything went smoothly. Glad I chose this clinic and would recommend it to anyone looking to have their vision corrected.
I had my surgery a few days ago, and as it is still too early to review the outcome, I am going to review the service I received. The best way I can describe the whole process is that it is akin to a well oiled, mechanised factory. The emphasis is on churning out as many numbers as possible over servicing it's customers. I was brought from one station to the next, with minimal information of what was going to happen at each point. Most of the time I had no idea what was going on and felt like I was being irritating by asking for updates. For instance, before they cut the flap they have to suction your eye to a disk. I was only warned that everything would go black (as it was happening). Nonetheless it was very disconcerting and I would have appreciated more of a description of what was about to happen before or did.. Throughout the whole process I felt there was more emphasis on speed and getting me in and out as fast as possible then anything else. It was a huge amount of money to spend and I was just expecting more personalization or human contact during the whole process. The actual surgery was maybe 15 seconds per eye, the suction/flap cutting maybe a minute or two the test before took 5-10 minutes, the one right after another minute. The whole process took less than 20 mins. Same for the one day follow up.
I had a Refractive Lens Exchange (the most expensive Advanced Vision Package, Laser option) at the end of September. Dr. Raymond Stein and his team acted professionally, the atmosphere at the institute was great and I was ensured that the surgery went well. If everything worked indeed, I would be the happiest patient ever. But it did not. My vision was still blurry after 2 weeks, so I went to the Bochner Institute for a checkup where, again, I was ensured that there is nothing to be concerned about. My eye drops were replaced with another eye drops on the basis that the first ones were irritating my eyes. I was consulted by Dr. Stein, but he was with me for just a few minutes (probably had surgeries scheduled on that day) and did not say too much. Other staff member told me that probably the healing process in my case takes longer than normally and I just must be patient. It's now almost 8 weeks after the surgery. My vision is the same or worse than 3 days after the surgery. Everything is blurry / cloudy. I cannot see at night or when the light is dim, my eyes get tired easily, I feel constant pain around my eyes, and have a constant urge to clean up my eyes to clear the vision. I cannot function normally. 6 weeks after the surgery, I visited my optometrist for a consultation. He said that most likely I have a buildup of protein developed on the back of the artificial lenses (Posterior Capsular Opacification - PCO). He ensured me that a quick follow up procedure (YAG) would address it, so he will arrange it for me at Bochner. Nothing happened for over a week, so I contacted my surgical consultant at Bochner, asking him to arrange a checkup and the procedure for me. Soon, someone from Bochner called me and said that I could come over the next day. I was delighted, but then I received a consent form via email and found that it is for a Lasik surgery. I replied to the message saying that this is not the procedure that I am supposed to have. Someone called me soon after and I was told that in this case the earliest spot that they have for me is in the second part of December. This means another 5 weeks of suffering and trying to work on a computer for 8 or more hours a day without being able to clearly see the screen or the keyboard. And this is assuming that the clinic will not be closed again due to Covid. I am certainly not happy about this arrangement and the whole situation. I declared that I am willing to come at any time when there is a cancellation but was told there is no waiting list for the YAG procedure. I am stuck and can only pray that the clinic will stay open in December. Update (February 2021): I got my YAG procedure done faster than I expected. Unfortunately, it did not help me. The centre area of my field of vision in both eyes remains blurry / yellowish / cloudy. I see many new floaters, my eyes are much dryer than before and get irritated easily. I visited my optometrist and he suggested warm compresses for a few minutes a day. I tried that for 3 weeks. Still no improvement. Basically, I replaced my correction glasses with sunglasses, computer glasses, and eye drops, which allow me to function, but it is no fun. Theoretically, I do not have a reason to complain about the surgery (I can read without glasses) or about the customer service at the clinic (they are nice and friendly), but I think people should be more aware what is ahead of them and account for all these “side effects” that they may experience. So... be prepared to stick to some sort of glasses to protect your eyes from: wind, sun, computer, etc. And be ready to use eye drops everyday. Or even feel uncomfortable for unpredictable number of months, like me. I hope that warmer weather will help (no cold wind when you go outside, more humidity). But I am not looking forward to brighter sun.
happily writing this review with my new set of eyes after doing LASIK here yesterday! the people who work here are professional, humble, and super diligent in what they do. i would easily recommend Bochner to anyone as the price is more than fair too. :)
Awesome centre. Very well organized. Have everything you need for your eyes. My son has keriticonus and was told that his vision would not improve. He had laser eye and cross linking done elsewhere. Dr Stein was amazing. My son now has twenty thirty vision. Thank you
It's been 2 weeks since the LASIK surgery. Everything went great and I am so happy to no longer need contacts or glasses. Dr. Stein and all his staff were really great, friendly and professional. I'm glad I did it!
You're a guest and not a client. You're given a short checkup and none further. They seem to just want your money and that's about it.
I’m a 38 year old nearly 2 weeks post-op for LASIK at Bochner. After wearing glasses or contacts every day for nearly 22 years, I can’t adequately express how ecstatic I am now that I can see clearly when I wake up in the morning. Based on recommendations/referrals from my optometrist, I was fortunate enough to have consultations with Bochner as well as two other LASIK centres all within the span of a week. Bochner won me over easily. Everywhere I went, the staff were very attentive and patient and all my questions were answered but at Bochner, I never felt like I was being “sold” a service. I was informed of the process and given the utmost support even before I had to ask THEM what the price was! The staff almost seemed like the kind of people that would be the subject of a movie about eye surgery. Very calm, confident and in control. When you’re dealing with your eyes, I would want nothing less. It’s no wonder that Bochner is the place trusted with the eyes of the top athletes and performers in the city. Dr. Stein and his team are exceptional and I can’t recommend them enough.
I got LASIK surgery here 2 weeks ago. During my consultation, they explained the procedure extensively so that there would be no surprises. Then, on the day of the surgery, the staff was so kind to me and gave excellent guidance. They allowed my mom to stay with me throughout the process (except in the surgery room), which was amazing for her because she did not have to wait in a waiting room for the entire time. Overall, once you have done the consultation, the day of the surgery is just the surgery process. That night I was able to see!
I got ICL done with Dr. Stein and it was an amazing experience It was pain free and the recovery was quick and painless. I had no dry eys and the halos were gone after a night. I could see immediately after the surgery and my vision cleared up after a few hours. I wished I got it done years ago. I would rather go in for a procedure at Bochner than go into my dental office. The procedure was much more pleasant than a dental cleaning.
Im only giving 3 stars because the sedation pills they give you are a joke, I was not relaxed at all, I recommend Ativan and after your surgery they are overbooked and don't seem to want to help you very much after you pay all that money.
After a horrible experience at Lasik MD I scheduled a surgery here with Dr. Gilani in July. From day one at my appointment in Oakville, right up until my surgery in Toronto, the staff and service were amazing! I'm so happy with my lasik correction. I could never have expected to have such clear vision in my eye after this surgery. On the surgery day, my prep staff were amazing, and very positive. Sadly I forgot his name but he 100% loves his job! Follow up with Dr. Black was easy, also a very positive person. As a golf professional my eyes are valuable to me, nice to have them back! Thank you Bochner eye!
Got my Lasik there a week ago and Dr. Stein, Maria and Ghani were amazing. All the staff were great. The procedure was quick and recovery time was less than a week. I was assured and walked through the whole process and felt very comfortable. My father got his eyesight and cataracts fixed here 10 years ago too so definitely recommended! Amazing to see without glasses! Thanks Bochner :)
Amazing experience, it's now about 5 years since I've had my surgery and love the results. Still better than 20/20. Couldn't recommend more highly.
I had LASIK done about 1.5 years ago at Bochner with Dr. Gilani and I can't stress how pleased I am! It was the best money I've spent, not having to wear glasses after over 30 years of wearing them is life changing.
Bochner Eye Institute has won the 2018 Top Choice Award for their excellence in the pursuit of Top customer satisfaction and that speaks volumes about their business ethics.
Had my lasik done on April 16, 2021with doctor Raymond Stein. The entire process was super easy, comfortable and professional. They were on time with my procedure and all the staff were super friendly and informative from the start of the testing process to the end of the process of the surgery. They followed up later that night as well making sure I was ok. I can see 20/20 the day after the surgery and couldn’t be more happier and glad I chose bochner to do my lasik. Glad I don’t need to wear glasses or contacts for another 20-25 years from now. Thank you Dr. Raymond Stein. You are amazing and made my life a Lot easier.
Excellent experience. Dr. Gilani made me feel comfortable every step of the way during my PRK surgery. Very friendly and my eyes have never been better!
didn't actually have any work done on my eyes (im not a patient in any capacity) but i picked up a friend and the staff was very polite and helpful
They have a good vision! They made it to the Top.. They won the 2015 Top Choice Award for the Top laser vision correction service in Toronto:) Congrats guys.
I had my surgery May 1, 2017. I must say, the entire experience was amazing. Although I may not have shown it, I was super nervous about the idea of the surgery. The entire staff did a great job from my arrival until my departure. Dr. Raymond Stein preformed my LASIK surgery. He could not have done a better job. I had my follow-up appointment with my own eye doctor, and she advised me that my vision is now 20/10. There was absolutely zero pain during and after the surgery. I did have a mild discomfort, kind of like a slight burning sensation during my ride home, but they told me about this prior to the surgery. If anyone is on the edge considering whether or not to get the surgery, I would definitely recommend this place.
Money grabbers and crooks in a doctor's suites
The doctors, nurses and staff at Bochner are friendly and extremely knowledgable. They provide amazing care and ensure you are comfortable with every visit. I went to Bochner for corrective laser eye surgery and I am so happy with my decision. Before the surgery they provided me with lots of information and answered all of my questions. They also provided 24/7 support in case of any issues (but there were none). The procedure was very quick and I had a number of follow up appointments to monitor the healing. When i had some irritation in my eye that was completely unrelated to the surgery 6 months later, they saw me right away and helped. For the best care I highly recommend Bochner.
Amazing experience with Bochner eye institute!! Dr. Stein was amazing and the staff were very helpful and kind.
This is the place to go for corrective eye surgery (Lasik or implantable contact lens).
Amazing, the staff answered all my questions, gave great advise and created a perfect experience. Thank you so much
Dr. Raymond Stein performed my surgery in 2009. Throughout the entire process, Dr. Stein and his staff were extremely thorough in guiding me through the process and letting me feel comfortable the entire way. The surgery itself was painless and quick. And the results were immediate as well. I followed the post care instructions given and 9 years later, my eyesight is still great. I confidently play all kinds of sports without the need for glass and/or contact lenses. I would recommend Dr. Stein and Bochner to anyone who's looking for top notch results. I have referred a couple coworkers since my surgery and they have had great results as well. Thanks Dr. Stein and the Bochner staff!
Couldn’t be happier with my experience doing LASIK at Bochner. Even with small eyes, Dr. Stein’s skill allowed me to avoid PRK and enjoy a very successful process with LASIK. Barely any side effects even just one day after surgery!
Excellent care and high level of professionalism and courtesy.
Please read this before making a very important decision about this Clinic. My Son had a Consult first at which point the whole entire emphasis of the Treatment Coordinator was on how great things will be post surgery, she proposed the treatment suited for his sight condition, When it was our turn to ask questions , the first and a very important question my Son asked was how painful this procedure is going to be during and after surgery. Treatment Coordinator in a rush of case acceptance kept re-assuring that there will be NO pain involved at all if anything he might experience some mild irritation. Now we are 4 Days Post Surgery: My Son had a lot of pain the firs day and by 2 which also was post op day with the doctor at the clinic he mentioned he felt like the contact lens that was placed to stay on for about a week and protect the surgery site was poking his right eye and was painful, the doctor simply brushed it off saying she did not think it was moving, Day 3 he had so much pain that by now he had not slept at all and kept on taking more pain killers, Day 4 he ended up in Emergency Department with Severe Pain and his eye infected. btw they never mentioned any of these things will happen at the Consult nor by the Doctor on the day of Surgery. He was seen at the clinic again today, there will be more pain killers and more visits back and forth than originally indicated, of course lets not forget the Hospital visit. I am waiting to see what happens in the next couple of days, The College that regulates this will Hear from me for sure to protect other people from going trough hell and yet not back for the past 4 days.
I just had my surgery yesterday. Although I shouldn't be on my phone lol. I had a wonderful experience from the staff to the doctor, everyone was amazing.
Dr Raymond Stein did my husbands LASIK February 6th, 2019. This place is nothing but amazing people who truly care. The consultation went very well, and was very straight forward, his consultant Bonny was truly amazing, and highly educated. The procedure was very quick. My husband had horrible vision, and Dr Stein gave him 20/20 with both eyes open. My husband stated that Dr Stein was very comforting, very quick, and extremely gentle when caring with his eyes. He is very happy that he chose him to fix his vision. The day after the surgery we went to our family eye doctor and she stated that Dr Stein did such an amazing and wonderful job and that she is very pleased with the amazing work he does. It’s been 2 days since the surgery and my husband still has no irritation whatsoever! The only irritating part of the day is when I apply the drops for him, but that only lasts 3 minutes!!! ???? The night of the surgery my husband stated that it was as if he never even got the surgery to begin with, and that his eyes didn’t hurt at all. Dr Stein if you are reading this, please know that the both of us thank you so much for all the amazing work that you do, and thank you for giving my husbands vision back. We couldn’t be any more happier! You are truly blessed with the wonderful knowledge, skills and procedures you offer to our society. We thank you so very much! - Micaela & Raul
My mom got her cataracts done at Bochner by Dr. Gilani. From the staff to Dr. Gilani, everyone was super patient and friendly. I would definitely recommend all my friends and family to go to Bochner. I can’t thank Dr. Gilani enough for helping my mom!!! And thank you to everyone at Bochner!!
Just finished my last check up. My optometrist was skeptical about sending me due to a moderate - severe astigmatism in my right eye. When I did my initial they figured the right eye was going to take 2 procedures and have no cornea left to work with for touch ups. Prior to surgery my surgeon and surgical plan switched to Dr Stein and he managed to not only meet my vision targets with 1 surgery, but he managed to save some cornea if touch ups are needed in the future. Healing process was effortless, they were great about signing forms to take time off work. I only have 2 complaints 1. They only give you 1 Valium pill during surgery for everyone, it should be given based on size and weight. Im a bigger gentleman and the Valium wore off before they finished cutting the first flap, and they had to give me stress balls to cope during the surgery. 2. The process is a little dehumanizing. They deal with it day in day out but for me it was my first time having surgery done. Other then the initial consultation you do feel like a number being pushed through their system. All in all though, you have to trust them, they know what they're doing and they are the best at what they do, the clear vision is life changing. Thank you bochner !
Excellent end to end experience with Dr. Stein and team. The staff are knowledgeable and the surgery team does very well to make you feel comfortable.
I just had my cataract done on my right eye and Dr Fatimah Gilani did it. I must say how very pleased, happy, appreciative that I came here and did it. She is the best, my vison came back right after laser cataract surgery was done. I can see again no problems and no pain at all. Everyday my vision gets better and better. Now I cant wait to go get the other eye done !!! I go back for my check up and she thanks me for picking them....I am like no thank you because if it wasn't for her who knows what would of happened if I went to another place. Her and the whole staff are super nice, everybody makes sure that you feel like you are at home. Thank you Dr Gilani for everything...If you are thinking about coming here just do it !!!! trust me, you will not regret it.
I have been looking to do LASIK for a long time and Bochner was recommended by my eye doctor. This place was the worst. It took forever to get an appointment. When I finally came in for the consultation I only met with a technician and a lady who just explained the procedure to me. Where is the doctor? The office is so outdated as well. I asked them about SMILE and they gave me some outdated article trying to have them use their old laser instead. I ended up having SMILE at another clinic and extremely happy about my results so far. I don't understand all the hype about this place.
It rocks!!
I had my Lasik procedure on Friday and by Saturday I could see clear and had my perfect vision back. Thank you Dr. Stein for am amazing, successful job. You were kind, caring, professional and knowledgeable! I would recommend it to everyone. THANK YOU.
I had done a lot of research on Laser Eye Surgery and I am very happy that I choose the Bochner Institute. This facility has an excellent support staff and Dr. Fatimah Gilani whom performed the procedure was very thorough in explaining the process and testing the my eyes before going under the "laser".
Getting laser eye surgery has changed my life and was nothing short of a miracle. Dr. Raymond Stein and his team of medical professionals made me feel comfortable and my PRK procedure was quick and painless. I was very nervous beforehand, but after the surgery was done I was surprised at how easy it was. I would definitely recommend the Bochner Institute.
As someone who was constantly looking up reviews prior to my procedure, I thought it's only fair that I left one after my PRK done with Dr. R. Stein. I am a medical student who had been contemplating laser eye surgery for a while now, with my pre-op prescription at -7.75 and -7.50. Although many of my colleagues are hesitant, I felt that the benefit of not having to wear corrective lenses outweighed the potential risk with the surgery. This is a personal decision and many find that corrective lenses are not worth the potential risks. I was originally deemed a LASIK candidate, but pre-op scans showed that my cornea was on the thinner side so we went with PRK, which is known to have a longer recovery period. I was actually happy about that as I was told by ophthalmologists that some of the complications are directly related to the flap that is created with LASIK and with PRK, which has no flap, decreases these risks (I am no expert but this is what I had been told). On the day of surgery, I saw Dr. Stein for a brief 5 minutes or so. He was nice and calming but I did find that he was very rushed. He answered my questions (knowing that I have a medical background) but with little explaining. His ophthalmology assistant, was much more empathetic and was willing to answer more questions. This would probably be my only complaint and you can't shake the momentary idea of being in a chop shop. During the actual surgery, again, Dr. Stein did minimal talking and it was the technicians who explained what was happening. He did say a few words to me near the end and it was comforting but I think he could've done a bit more during the procedure. Procedure itself was essentially pain-free. Post-op day 2-3 were the worst, with a lot of swelling and it felt like I was constantly cutting onions with marked tearing and irritation. By day 4 the swelling had reduced and tearing subsided. Currently at post-op day 5, I have some light sensitivity and my eyes tire easily. Visual acuity is decent, with some blurry vision but otherwise good! Waiting to get my contact lens removed today so looking forward to see how that changes my acuity. Overall, I am happy with the results so far but I think Dr. Stein could make some effort to speak with his patients. Additionally, it is still unclear what the 20+ year complications will be so fingers crossed it will all be okay.
Excellant treatment completely satisfied.
I began to notice that my vision was becoming increasingly blurry as the object I was viewing increased in distance. As a golf enthusiast, the object in question was usually a golf ball in the air or a pin on the green. My blurry vision made me dependent on my playing partners to help me out on the course. I shared with a friend during our round that I was considering laser eye surgery. He told me that he had it done years earlier at Bochner. I decided to go for a consultation. At the conclusion of the consultation they had recommended PRK. I decided to go ahead with the procedure. I am very happy to share that the procedure was a complete success with literally zero issues. I prepared myself for a lengthy and painful recovery, but post surgery my recovery was a breeze. It was nothing like I expected in a very good way! I owe a HUGE thank you to Dr.Gilani. Dr.Gilani was professional, patient, and treated me with care. I am truly grateful to Dr.Gilani, she was phenomenal throughout the entire process. She was also thoughtful enough to ask me about my golf game now that my vision is perfect! I couldn't believe that she remembered. I would 100% recommend Dr.Gilani to friends and family...or a golfer who is having trouble seeing the ball ;)
Dr. Gilani performed my LASIK and I couldn't be happier with the results! The experience with Bochner was smooth every step of the way. Thank you to the staff at Bochner and Dr. Gilani for the life-changing results!
My experience at the Bochner institute was absolutely wonderful. Dr. Stein and the medical staff were so encouraging, friendly and caring as professionals. My laser surgeries for cataracts and very high astigmatism has resulted in wonderful vision with no need for glasses. (I bought dollar store glasses to assist with very small print (like that which is on medicine bottles) but I don't need them for regular reading. The surgeries were short and painless with no after pain. I am very humbly thankful for being able to have this kind of corrective surgery and would recommend this place highly!! Thank you Dr. Stein and staff.
Here's a tip: "Free Consultation" is not a selling point when seeing an actual doctor for a consultation would be covered by OHIP anyway and would actually allow for the Northern Health Travel Grant to cover $300 in bus tickets. But thanks for wasting our time and money.
Overall decent experience.
Very good experience right from the start with Bonnie up till the surgery done by Dr Fatima Gilani. I tried this twice before with Lasik and had very disappointing experiences .I was convinced to try Bochner and they did not disappoint. Thanks again Bochner !!!!
Part 2 What the heck was I supposed to do now? He said corrective eye glasses would be the direction to take with my own Eye Doctor. Possibly in the future I could pay to have the left eye operated on. He would be willing to 'fit me in' without a long wait. At that point, I was wearing my original glasses with the right lens removed. The right eye could do nothing properly on its own. No distance or reading. My poor left eye was doing all the work with the old progressive existing eye glass lens remaining. Drug store reading glasses were bought and placed over my own glasses so I could read with the right eye a bit This was done to rest the left eye during my work day. However, the mid-day eye strain exhaustion remained and the whole situation continued almost unbearable. My brain was working hard to interpret the signals coming from my eyes. 'Left to Right and Right to Left' constantly changing depending on what I was trying to do. I could physically almost feel the strain throughout the day. To spend money on a set of new glasses and then have to discard them after getting something done with the left eye and buying more new glasses to only yet again discard those after the right eye was corrected. At this point, I am completely dishearten and lost with what to do. The Bochner Institute does not have me scheduled for any further consultations or appointments. A lot of money has been spent, a lot of time and effort put forth for a long period. My work and leisure time has been severely impacted. I have no desire to participate in any activities anymore. Trips or vacation are not planned. My Wife feels my depression. I can't wait to get home to sleep or fall asleep while watching TV. I didn't get the results that I was led to believe I would have after the cataract surgery. Because they have so many other patients, those with unsuccessful outcomes are just forgotten. I was recently told that the failure rate is about 1 in 500. So this is the 'Lottery' I won. Do I pay more for Bochner Institute to operate on my left eye for and place the correct 'distant' lens in it? ( Obvious mistake in pre-op measurements for the right eye) More time away from work. Afterwards, it would just be the expense I'll have for a new set of complete progressive lenses for my eye glasses. This hopefully would allow me to return to my 'previous' life with glasses, except now I would be able to see properly again. Until that day comes if ever, may I suggest to others to be very careful when deciding to get eye operations done. Be sure you know completely what your getting into and if there are any 'guarantees' or warranty etc. to protect against failures of any kind. For now I remain, Depressingly Disappointed with Bochner Institute.
This is the worst eyes institution. Reception had very bad altitude and worst service, and didn’t helpful. I had a bad experience with them. They rejected to give me my prescription, even I did the exam at there.
Terrible customer service, took three months to book a CONSULTATION. not to mention the actual operation. Rude emails back and fourth. They forgot about my emails and I had to keep inquiring terrible service.
I had Intraocular lens surgery at the Bochner Eye Institute and I am very happy with the results. I was informed that I was not a good candidate for laser eye surgery due to having a more severe case of myopia. Instead, the Bochner Eye Institute recommended that I undergo Intraocular Len Surgery (ICL). The clinic was very informative with regards to the procedure and potential side effects. The staff at the clinic were always friendly, and they ensured I was comfortable during the procedure. Dr. Stein was great, and I was surprised with how quickly and efficiently he was able to complete the surgery. I am so happy with the results from my surgery. My eyes were initially -8.5 prior to my surgery, but I am now seeing 20/20! Moreover, the vision I have is, for lack of a better term, like seeing in HD. Colours tend to pop more and my vision is more detailed. I definitely think the surgery was worth the money, and I am very appreciative to Dr. Stein and the staff at Bochner for their work!
The World's Best. I had glasses since 13 years old. My eyes were getting worse every year. Fixed me perfectly. The Doctors and staff are incredible. I had my eyes done at 45 years old 4 years ago. Worth every penny. God Bless You All ????????????????????????❤????
Bad service with arrogant attitude. Very bad experience.
June 2019 Two years ago I presented with debilitating cataracts in both eyes. I was at this time just experiencing shadowy vision. I opted for the supreme laser surgery and it has been well worth the cost. After the procedure I could see as I did as a teenager with perfect vision. I don't have to wear eye glasses and as an artist this has been the best thing I have ever invested in. Two years later my vision is still perfect. The whole experience was amazing with staff and my surgeon, Dr. Raymond Stein. I recommend Bochners Eye Institute.
I had my corrective eye surgery 10 months ago. It was the best decision I've ever made. The staff at Bochner were very friendly and knowledgeable. They answered all my nervous questions. On the day of the procedure, they ensured I was calm and taken care of. I had absolutely no complications, pain, or concerns post-op. My surgery was at 3pm, and the following morning I was blown away with my sight. It is life changing.100% recommend Dr. Stein and Bochner!
I had my eyes done in 1994...best thing I ever did????
Dr Cheskes preformed my laser eye surgery, nearly 11 years ago. I have had 20/15 vision. The service I received was amazing, the follow up was great. The consultation was nothing short of amazing, it was detailed, no pressure, informative. This place doesn't just want to take your money, they want to make sure you are a good candidate to receive the surgery. Also, the get well basket that was delivered the next day, was DELICIOUS! Thank you for helping me improve my vision, and every day life.
Amazing experience. Starting from the consultation at the Scarborough location they were so knowledgeable and made me at ease. Yesterday I had my eye surgery went so smoothly, the staff was extremely accomodating, answered all questions and even give you an emergency phone line. I am also so happy with the results within a few hours i can see so clearly. I wouls definately recommend this place. The all inclusive warranty to back there services is amazing too. I just wanted to make an edit.. 2 years later my vision is still amazing. I had a follow up appointment with the optometrist, she was so accomodating, being flexible to my schedule. I had my sister go and get her eyes done too. She also rates it 5 star!!
We would highly recommend Bochner. Our daughter’s prescription was over -7 and she can now see perfectly! They took extra care with her as a result of her strong prescription and were wonderful to deal with. I was not looking for the least expensive I was looking for the best and we are very happy with the outcome.
I had my laser eye surgery done by Dr. Stein 16 years ago. I know everyone says they're terrified of eye surgery, and I was no exception. My eyes were bad. Really bad, like a minus 8 or 9. I knew what lousy vision was like, and how it could impact every facet of your life. I wanted to feel confident that the surgeon I chose would understand how important my eyes were to me, and who could allay my fear of ending up with worse vision than before. Dr. Stein and his staff took the time to make me comfortable with my decision. I never felt rushed or overwhelmed. Everyone at the clinic was knowledgeable, patient and efficient. The procedure itself was almost a letdown ! I was expecting so much more to happen. Instead, it was quick, painless and almost anticlimactic. The numbing drops really work ! I spent the rest of the day at home napping or listening to music. My eyes were a little scratchy the next day, but I was so busy showing off my new vision that I hardly noticed ! I had the surgery on a Thursday and I was back to work on Monday, no problem. Since then my new eyes have opened up the world for me. I scuba (because I can see the fish now) and I walk confidently into heated buildings in the wintertime, knowing my glasses won't fog up ! I'm also a sailor, and I'm the designated lookout for race markers during competitions. I've got the best eyes on the boat ! Thanks to Dr. Stein and his amazing staff. You have changed my life in ways I can't begin to describe.
I recently had two consecutive eye procedures performed under the care of Dr. Stein and his staff at the Bochner Eye Institute in Toronto. This facility was nearly two hours from our home, yet our family physician believed their knowledge regarding eyes couple with my complex health history justified the trip. The outcome, in our opinion, was extremely successful. I was told to be there at 7:15 AM each morning. I was finished and released by 9:00 AM. The staff was consistently cordial, caring, knowledgeable and genuinely attentive. Dr. Stein is the consummate medical professional. He walked me through the entire process and answered all of my questions in a thorough and patient manner. The decision to travel to the Bochner Eye Institute as opposed to using a clinic or hospital that would be more geographically convenient for me was right for us. Thank you. Dr. LRP
I had my laser eye procedure done by Dr. Stein and his team 3 weeks ago at Bochner Eye Institute and it was a fantastic experience. I read lots of reviews on bochner and Dr. Stein and the reviews were accurate. He is an amazing Doctor. His only goal is to have a flawless procedure and make his patients happy! Mission accomplished Dr. Stein. Thank you for giving me the gift of sight.
Had laser eye surgery mid December 2021. My surgery was a success and Dr. Stein and his team were outstanding. I would highly recommend Bochner Eye Institute for this procedure.
