Before I left my last eye doc who could never seem to get my contact lens prescriptions right, I asked my friends who was a great eye doc in Victoria? Most of them said Doctor Poon and Purely Optometry! I am so very happy that I found him! For the first time ever, after trying about 20 different contact lens prescriptions for my bifocal needs, he brought me to 20/20 vision with contacts. He has a super camera that can see signs of impending issues like thinning retina areas, gave me tests I have never had anywhere else and takes the time to explain what they mean and what to watch for. The staff here are extremely professional and I am impressed with the fact that he runs this office as a teaching academy as well for intern optometrists. Excellent optometry experience. Best I have had.

Purely Optometry offers a great service to whomever requires an eye exam. The staff is very friendly and fun, the technology is beyond satisfactory without being too overwhelming, and the atmosphere is both sophisticated and relaxing. The experience is fully satisfying all around, great for children, and do not be surprised if you make a few friends along the way.

Dr. Poon is honestly the most amazing optometrist in Victoria! I've been a patient of his for over 10 years. I first went to Dr. Poon in elementary school, when he helped me get my first pair of glasses. When he moved offices, I had a different optometrist for a few years, but recently went back to Dr. Poon because I was tired of being "patient #___". When I went in for my eye exam, his face lit up like a Christmas tree! He still remembered my name after not seeing me for over 5 years. He and I spent over 20 minutes chatting and catching up. He wanted to know how college has been for me, what was new in my life, and what I had planned in the future. THIS is why I went back to Dr. Poon. Not only is he an amazing optometrist, but also an amazing friend. He has helped me with so many things- from getting my first pair of glasses to giving me wedding advice. My parents were his patients, I am his patient, and (if I'm still in Victoria by then) my kids will be his patients. With Dr. Poon you're not just a patient, you're family.

Dr. Poon is an excellent optometrist. He uses the most up to date equipment which most other labs do not. Dr. Poon diagnosed a condition quite early in my eyes and I was able to visit the eye specialist and have the condition taken care of. The specialist commented that most optometrists would not have noticed the condition. I highly recommend Dr. Poon.

Dr. Dillon was extremely accommodating and friendly. I booked an exam for glasses but needed a contact lense prescription and she fit me in rather than make me reschedule. The new brand of lenses she suggested is far more comfortable than my previous brand and I can see much better now.

It's been awhile since iv went to get my eyes looked at , iv been going to him since I was a little girl ... but this time was not the best at all .... I did not get told to bring sun glasses nor told on the phone that I would be getting drops in my eye .. after the first part of the exam she asked me to do the drops and told me the blurryness would be gone in two - three hours , and a little senstive to the light .. so I said ok to proceed with the eye exam .... what I did not get told is that my eyes would stay huge up two 24 hours nor that walking would be a problem, I fell really hard and had to fell my way to the bus stop .... when I finally got home I called the office and explain what has happened to me ... the lady was so rude to me saying what do u want me to do about it .... the lady on the phone also said that the Dr. Told me to bring sun glasses ... then says she will pass the message on then hangs up .... Im so upset about this .. this is not proper care about this .

Dr. Poon is incredibly professional and has the only office in Victoria that offers the newest cameras for optometry. I've never been to an optometrist with such advanced equipment, and as a result I'm very happy with my new prescription that has been inaccurate from many other optometrists since 2014. He was able to show me detailed pictures of my iris and retina as well as analyze the inaccuracy in the previous lenses for my glasses in front of me. He is fluent both in english and cantonese and has a very clear accent in either language. By the way, he offers candy and something to drink if you wish.

Our whole family has Dr. Poon as their optometrist and we have been patients for 13 years, and wouldn’t dream of going to anyone else. He gives us personalised service and we never feel rushed. He takes the time to clearly explain everything too so we can fully understand what is happening with our vision. He saved my eyesight and I will be forever grateful for that, as he discovered I had angle closure glaucoma. He sent me to a specialist and I had laser surgery to fix that, without which I would have lost my vision. Thank you Dr. Poon! His staff are friendly and professional.

Genuinely impressed by my latest visit to Dr. Poon's office. He truly went above and beyond - not only was my eye test top notch but he also took the time to get to know me, offered me a Rice Krispie treat, and worked with my budget as a student. Not once did I feel like he was trying to upsell me. Also the most reasonable rates in town according to my own research! They have the latest Optomaps retinal imaging system. Dr. Poon is awesome! My family and I have been seeing him for years. He goes above and beyond each visit. He truly cares about his patients. He takes the extra time to make sure I completely understand what he is saying. At one visit, he discovered I needed further treatment from an ophthalmologist because I was showing the beginning stages of glaucoma. The ophthalmologist actually said I should thank Dr. Poon (which I did) because he saved me from vision loss. The wait time to see him can be a little extra, but it is totally worth it.
