Today I visited Eyes on Sheppard for the first time. I discovered it from some community work that Eyes on Sheppard does. They supported Avondale Public School at their Spring Fair fundraiser. I was greeted promptly and waited about 60 seconds before Catherine greeted me. Although the office was busy, she was very patient and professional. I'm very indecisive with my glasses. I must have tried on 15 pairs. At the end I walked out with a nice pair of sunglasses and a great experience. Thanks for your community support and patience.

At first I was lead to believe that they wouldn't be able to accommodate quicker turnaround appointments, but they worked to fit me into other cancellations. I appreciate the call back and the quick response. ORIGINAL: Kerry Salsberg is an amazing doctor, but can be difficult to get an appointment with. I have benefits expiring, and pretty much every other eye clinic would be happy to accommodate this common situation.

I have been going to Eyes on Sheppard for about 5 years. I have nothing but praise for them. Very well run, operations, very thorough eye care tests. They pointed out a problem that I had, sent me to a specialist and had corrective surgery, pain free, I might add. Just ordered new glasses and they called me then they were ready. When I got there I was attended to by two very friendly staff, Grace and Gary, who made sure that the frames fit comfortably and that the lenses were perfectly adjusted. I always have a great experience there and now they have moved into state of the art offices, with infra red thermometer on the ceiling and all. Highly recommended. I have been attended by Dr Salzberg, but also by a couple of other optometrists when I had an emergence. They provide outstanding service.

This clinic is kitted-out with the latest technology for assessing vision and eye health. It felt re-assuring to know that my eyes were being objectively and quantifiably measured by modern machines and interpreted by the very professional Dr. Salsberg who clearly explained my optical conditions and risk factors. I only waited for 5 minutes to get tested on 5 different machines and be seen by the optometrist (compared to up to 3 hours wait at some Ophthalmology clinics). The staff in the eyeglass retail dept were very helpful and patient in helping me to choose appropriate (first time) eyewear. I went during the first week of Covid re-opening and was pleased to see the safety measures they have implemented including a thermal imaging camera in reception, an antiviral fogger for cleaning all the testing equipment, and a UV oven for cleaning sample eyewear.

WOW. What a beautiful new location. Such a bright and lovely office space. But I'm writing this review primarily because of the service I received from Godwin. I have been wearing glasses since I was fourteen, and I have visited my share of opticians in Montreal, Ottawa and now Toronto, and NO ONE has ever taken the time to thoroughly explain frames and lenses like Godwin. Godwin showed me what the numbers on the frames mean (I had never even noticed them until today) and even wrote down the model numbers of the frames I was interested in. I didn't feel rushed, or hurried. He gave me honest feedback. I think I've finally found a few frames that actually fit me (unlike the pair I currently have...smh). This is what a shopping experience is supposed to be like. The care... the calm, cool, and collected demeanor...the professionalism... I mean... customer service like this exists?! I'll be coming back here for sure. If you want someone to patiently walk you through the eyeglass buying process, honestly just visit this beautiful location and ask for Godwin. You won't regret it.

On the advice of my girlfriend I went here for an eye exam. Although it initially seems expensive for the eye exam it was the most comprehensive exam I have ever had! They used state of the art equipment with many tests and detailed photos of my eyes before I saw the doctor. This wasn't just about getting a prescription for glasses, but making sure that my eyes stay problem free for years. When seeing the doctor, he reviewed the tests, recommended a treatment for an itcy eye problem I was having in the evenings, and instead of writing a prescription for expensive progressive glasses, he recommended I just use mild reading glasses for computer work. Really pleased with the service here !

This is an excellent clinic. I had some problem in my left eye. I suspected it as a foreign object. I called the clinic and I got an appointment within 2 hours. I saw Dr.Kerry. He was so nice and observed my eyes, and found no foreign object. He flushed my eyes which fixed the issue immediately. He also gave me some eye drops free of cost. He also ordered the receptionist to charge me only 50 as a full exam was not needed on me. The point here is the clinic is honest. They do not want you to go through unnecessary tests to pay more to them. The doctor even shared his contact details to inform him in case of any issue. Such a nice place and treatment. I recommend this place for all.

I have been a client of Dr. Kerry Salsberg at Eyes on Sheppard for 15 years. I initially worked a few blocks away and called the office with an emergency eye issue. I wasn’t even a patient and I think I was seen within 24 hours and was referred to a specialist that afternoon and then a surgeon (who did great work). Dr. K Salsberg went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of. I went back to Dr. K Salsberg for my next eye exam and glasses and have continued to see him ever since, travelling from great distances as I moved around the GTA and beyond. A few years ago I brought my Mom to the clinic all the way from Ancaster! She wouldn’t dream of going elsewhere either now. To me the drive is worth it! The care is top notch, the equipment is state of the art and Dr. Salsberg and his staff are incredibly personable and professional. I also find the appointments are efficient. No long wait times and yet no rushing through the stations or doctor exam either. I can’t say enough about this clinic. If I could give this team more than five stars I would without hesitation.

Awful experience. Low quality glasses. Stay away from their optical centre. Cheap and breakable frames. My son used their glasses for 1 week and a half and they totally came apart. When we went to see them, the answer from one of the ladies at the optical centre was that "they broke". A lot of talk and blaming the quality on the government cover for kids glasses for the first time. They are really taking advantage of their money, which is extremely unfair. Shady business. Stay away from them.

I made an appointment to get prescription safety glasses as I am a Tool and Die maker and the doctor knew that . The clinic doesn't do safety glasses and I had to go elsewhere. The problem is that the prescription I received doesn't allow me to perform my job.

I fell in love with a frame that was available at only a handful of opticians. I decided to use Eyes on Sheppard for the first time. Sari, the head optician, was helpful. So I ordered the expensive frame and top of the line lenses through her. I've been wearing glasses for about 60 years. This was the first pair of glasses that were uncomfortable and so blurry that I couldn't see. In addition the glasses gave me headaches. When I returned for a better fit because the frame was hurting my ear, Sari made the frame too loose. Then she refused to tighten them. Once she had delivered the glasses, the time available and quality of her service, both dropped. Sari insisted that the lenses were perfect and refused to repair them. She blamed the script. She made it clear that if I changed my eye doctor to an in-house doctor, my problems would probably be solved. She refused to address my problems. I took the glasses to another optician for a second opinion. He immediately told me that the script was positioned incorrectly on the lenses. He also noted that I did not need to go to an in-house eye doctor because all the information an optician needs is written on the script, or gathered by the optician directly. My eye doctor confirmed the problem with the script position on the lense. The difference in position was so dramatic that it required a new pair of lenses. Nevertheless Sari insisted the lenses were "perfect" and refused to repair the lenses. The glasses had a manufacturer warranty that would allow for new lenses, but Sari refused to request a change. She would only refund my money. So I accepted my only option, the full refund. I wrote a letter of complaint to Sari and the owner of Eyes on Sheppard. They never replied. I would strongly suggest that Eyes on Sheppard are eager to sell, but deliver exceedingly poor quality service and poor product, and do not stand behind either their product or their service promises. I would strongly suggest you take your time and money elsewhere. In 60 years of wearing glasses, I have never had such dismal service.

Save your money and go somewhere that isn't an instagram paradise. This must be one of the most expensive places to get an eye exam done in Toronto, coming in at approximately $250 compared to $100 at a Warby Parker or other optometrist, and no, you don't get anything extra... not even.... a lesson on how to put contacts in which will cost you an extra $55 (every family and friend that I told about this was shocked to hear that this company is able to price gauge that much, and it works because as a patient, you become afraid that there's something you really need to know and you don't want to damage your eyes). Where's this money going? Probably upkeeping their green wall with kitchy slogans and neon lights, as if this is as much an optometrist as it is a photo-op. Moreover, my interaction with the optometrist felt just as much like I was with an optometrist as it felt like I was with a salesman. In fact, I realized after I left that I hadn't even been given my prescription and had to email to get it... because they were holding onto it assuming I would purchase my lenses there. I'm well aware that it's common for optometrists to be side by side with stores that sell glasses, but never before have I felt like the optometrist was trying to actively sell me on their company's lenses and services. I will absolutely not be coming back to this location. I don't care for the fancy layout of the store, I will be saving my insurance some money and taking my business somewhere that's not trying to upsell me at every turn.

Never made it to my appointment-but I'll never ever try to go there again. Drove a great distance for an appt. I was unfamiliar with the area so I had called earlier in the day to get directions. Answering machine told me they'd get back to me within 24 hours! Thanks a bunch! Drove up there anyway and went into a parking garage hoping it was the right building. It was not. Called again-same response. So frustrated that I just gave up and drove back home. I find it amazing that they offer all these services and have the latest technology-but they don't have a receptionist during business hours to assist patients. Despite what their website says, they really don't care about you at all. Don't go there-it is a concrete canyon up there and impossible to navigate without knowing exactly where you are going and no one at the office answers their phones. Shameful.

Not satisfied with the service they are providing. Doctor was Distracted to the message on computer, my Son didn't read any of the line only verbal acceptance from a child is not good. I am still doubtful that glass number is correct or not -:( might go to some other doctor for the satisfaction. Also I asked some question about why the glass number is changing so frequently and no response -:( . Then able find out the frame however they are not able to commit any time frame (even +/- 3 day) which is very unprofessional, seems they have no experience in frame and lenses just dealing with someone else.

After years of dealing with Eyes On Sheppard i made the mistake I buying prescription sunglasses at the local Optical store chain as I lost mine the day before leaving on holiday. I picked them up when I got home and immediately knew they were not right, however! Covid hit and everything shut down. I couldn’t drive in the new glasses. I went to Eyes On Sheppard and they confirmed that my eyes were fine but the glasses weren’t. They ordered new lenses and they are excellent. The service, experience and kindness was exceptional. Jason took excellent are of me. My vision is now crystal clear! Thank you Eyes on Sheppard. I will never go anywhere else. Also the new location is huge and airy. Lots of room and excellent ventilation. Thank you Eyes On Sheppard and Thank you Jadon.

Very well organized from A-Z for example email and phone for appointment, parking direction in detail, on time and fast handling at entrance, well steps to do the test, great customer service, very clean areas, sanitizing available, new appointment set up, etc. In summary : well organized in all items shows there is a system for planning and implementing from A- Z. I have seen many good doctor offices that are famous and doing good professional job but not organized and/or free of problem.

I recently had some coatings issues with a pair of glasses I purchased from Eyes on Sheppard a couple of years ago. I'd moved from Toronto to Newfoundland so going back in, especially in these days of Co-Vid 19 wasn't an option. I reached out to Jason at EOS and got an immediate response, and solution. Long story short I sent them back to Toronto and they will be returned to me very soon with brand new hi-performance Zeiss lens. You can always find cheaper products that don't really perform, or maybe score a deal by shopping around, but believe me, you ALWAYS get what you pay for. I'm glad that I relied on Eyes on Sheppard for eye examinations and for my glasses over many years. They work hard to give you glasses that you are happy with, and then they stand 100% behind what they sell.

Although his father is retired now, Dr. Friedman takes care of my eyes and is always on top of everything. He is down to earth kind of doctor who is easy going. His eye exam charges are quite affordable. I highly recommend his services.

I have nothing but praise, respect, and admiration for Jason Barrett, the lead optician at Eyes on Sheppard. There was in issue with my glasses and I couldn't see perfectly. He took the time to explain the problem in detail and took the necessary steps to make sure my vision was perfect and that the issue was resolved. He booked 3 separate visits within the span of a week and a half, educated me, changed the lenses and in the end my vision and the glasses were perfect. I was beyond impressed with his knowledge and overall customer service. It would be easy to just dismiss or "brush off" the problem, but he genuinely cared that I had a perfect result. Eyes on Sheppard is very lucky to have him, and it's because of him that I would recommend Eyes on Sheppard to friends and colleagues.

Going to EOS for over 40 years. Was not at all pleased. felt everything was about money and how much they could charge. I am a senior and was not told about all the charges until I checked out. Was told there was an email 6 months ago. That doesn’t matter. I should have been told again. Maybe I didn’t want or need the test!!! Then the optometrist told me I needed some wipes and immediately began writing on the box. Of course wipes were 40.00. Should have refused them and let him handle the damaged box. Then of course the pressure to buy glasses. The glasses were by Marciano which doesn’t seem to exist. Their line is owned by Guess so why the exorbitant price. Then of course the lenses which I don’t need. Up to at least 500. In the blink of an eye!!!! But I did love the glasses. After all these years will not go back again. Will go to doctor where OHIP covers all.

I’ve been a patient of this clinic for many years and I can sincerely say that I enjoyed the service and compassion by Dr Fiona Soong. Today I called to schedule a routine appointment for a current prescription and was told the clinic only offers “comprehensive tests for the benefit of my good health “ at an exorbitant fee of $159. No one not even the office manager could explain in detail the specific tests being done for this fee. I explained that I am under the care of an ophthalmologist for many years with routine eye examinations by a specialist including visual field tests and I don’t require duplicate tests and I’m simply requesting for a new prescription. Charge me for an eye exam but I felt pressure sales tactics to pay for a fee for unnecessary tests. I requested for one of the optometrist to return my call and explain this unnecessary condition the clinic imposed on its patients. I will provide an update should I receive a callback. Nonetheless, it appears I need to look for a new clinic that cares more about patient care rather than pressure sales tactics and unnecessary tests to only serve the clinic’s profit margin. Very distressing to see the degradation of patient care over the years.

If you need a thorough internal eye exam with high tech equipment this is your place. The fees were higher than I expected (I was quoted a lower price when I booked my appointment). Suggest clients confirm the price with the front desk the day of the appointment.

Excellent service by everyone. Dr. Salsberg recommended laser surgery for me. He advised me to have it done downtown and sent them my perscription and a recommendation on the surgery I should have. Everything went perfectly. I couldn’t recommend this place any higher.

I don't usually write reviews but I was actually so shocked by how rude and incompetent the receptionist here was. My optometrist sent Eyes on Sheppard a referral for me, for some procedures that they do not perform at their own practice. Eyes on Sheppard called me and I missed the call and called them right back in 5 min. When I spoke to the receptionist I told her "I just missed your call, my name is ____, this is probably about a referral from my eye doctor..." and the receptionist literally asked me if I was a child for "using the term eye doctor and don't you mean ophthalmologist?" Then she couldn't figure out what I was talking about even though they JUST called me, and told me "we don't need referrals you can book an eye exam for $220." Anyway, I was able to book what I needed elsewhere with no issues :)

I am 86 years young and have been a client for more than 20 years. I would not trust my eye-sight to anyone but Dr. Kerry or his staff.

My husband I are patients of Dr. Cotovio and Dr. Friedman. Both optometrists are highly skilled and so kind and friendly. The staff is welcoming, helpful and professional. The latest equipment is used. It is clean and precautions are taken to keep everyone safe. Sepi takes care to create exact measurements for glasses. The variety of frames is extensive. She demonstrates a patient approach. Other employees are also gracious. It is a very pleasant experience. We highly recommend Eyes on Sheppard to everyone.

The quality of service is pathetic. I called this clinic yesterday which was a workday. I was unable to speak to anyone and the call was transferred to a voice message asking me to record my message and I was told that someone would get back to me within 24 hours. Unfortunately, no one did. I called again today and the same thing happened. I wanted to fix an appointment for my son. Now, I have changed my mind and am going to look for another clinic.

This entire office is exceptional! From the validated parking to the COVID protocols and courteous reception and spacious office when you enter to the expertise of my doctor (Dr. Black is very patient and competent - I look forward to my appointments with him and he has always hit the mark with my prescriptions and clearly explained how my eyes are doing) to the unbelievable service I recently received from the optician (Jason took such good care of me when I came in with a problem, having purchased glasses at a different optical store - he took the time to sort out the issue, never tried to blame the other place or sell me new glasses, just fixed the problem with care and professionalism). I appreciate everything about this one stop shop for my eyes. I have highly recommended Eyes On Sheppard to all my friends and family. Having made the mistake of purchasing glasses somewhere else once I now won't go anywhere else for eye exams and glasses!
