Lions Gate Optometry and Lougheed Town Centre Optical and Optometry are the best places to go for an exam and eyeglasses. Dr.Gilani is amazing. He is very thourough and has wonderful rapport with his patients. He takes the time to answer any questions you may have. I highly recommend Dr. Gilani for his knowledge and expertise in his field. I have always had the most positive experiences with Dr. Gilani. If you are looking for an excellent optometrist look no further.

I have just had my eyes tested at Dr Mahmood Gilani’s clinic I was so pleased with my visit being greeted by the staff with a smile on their faces and very polite. I find Dr Gilani to be very professional in his work he explains everything that he is doing and takes lots of time with you. I would highly recommend LionsGate Optomotrist Clinic to everybody that is apprehensive about having their eyes tested you will be very pleased with your decision after seeing Dr Gilani.

I saw Dr. Mahmood Gilani in October 2020 for the first time, for an eye exam, and also to receive advice for an upcoming cataract surgery that I kept postponing for over a year because of fear. I have been losing my vision a lot in the past few years, and with a cataract in one eye and a vitreous detachment in that same eye, I have found it very difficult to decide which set of letters I see better on the charts during the visual acuity test. I have had 4 eye exams in the past 2 years with 4 different eye Doctors, and it’s the first time that I feel comfortable with my charts choices, and that’s because Dr. Gilani was explaining why it was so difficult for me with my conditions and his explanations helped me understand how to choose the best charts, which made my eye exam so much easier for me. I was really afraid of having a cataract surgery, I had asked questions to the Optometrist that I had been seeing for years in Whistler and she wasn’t able to remove my fear of the surgery, her answers were mostly to just go for it, but I had a lot of concerns that she wasn’t able to appease. I also had a discussion with another Optometrist and I still wasn’t convinced. But when I had a conversation with Dr. Gilani everything changed and I am now scheduled for my cataract surgery in November, and all my fears have been removed. Dr. Gilani is a very patient person and he explains everything so well, I can tell that he really cares for our wellbeing. And the entire staff at the clinic are very nice, professional, and competent. I live an hour away from Dr. Gilani’s clinic and it’s worth the drive. I highly recommend him and his clinic Lions Gate Optometry and Optical in North Vancouver.

Awful People. Just awful . Rude . Can i use your washroom please.... Answer = NO . Go and use Lionsgate Hospitals . What medical facility doesnt have a washroom you can use? Really? This was a Shocking experience and will NOT go here again or reccommend it. STAY AWAY! RIP OFF ALSO.

They act like thief. Stay away from them. My husband did an eye exam with this doctor and paid them $105 last week, but they refuse to give him a copy of his prescription in order to force him to buy glasses only from them!! We asked them twice to email us his prescription. After finishing the eye exam, we wanted the prescription. The secretary lies that she has already emailed it to us which she hadn’t. We called them again and asked them to email the damn prescription. They simply ignore your calls and request. Now I think we have to file an official complaint against them with BC government. If you respect yourself, stay away from these aggressive front desk and ignorant doctor.

Dr. Gilani and his staff are simply amazing. Extremely professional, and thorough. Although they have two locations, Burnaby and North Vancouver, I see him at the North Vancouver office. Parking is never an issue and very centrally located, close to LGH and one block east of Lonsdale Ave. I highly recommend Lions Gate Optometry.

Very nasty experience. Signs up everywhere -- had to knock on the door. Acted like they didn't even want to open the door. Was about to be given a two pager to fill out on a clipboard. I said I was just there to look at the frames. The older woman then became very angry and very rude. She held the door open and told me to leave! This is the honest truth. DO NOT go there. I then went to two other places (Lenscrafters) and was treated well. There's absolutely no reason to be nasty.
