I came in for my initial appointment with Dr. Bench on 12/17/21. I was so pleased with his staff because they were so friendly. Dr. Bench has a great sense of humor and made my experience fun. I appreciated the laughs. The optician was so fabulous and knowledgeable. I chose a frame and tint combo that screams BOSS! I can't wait until they arrive! I had a great experience and would recommend Niagara Falls Eye Care to everyone.

My girlfriend has been going here since she was a kid. They just happen to take her insurance and her parents didn't realize how bad this place is. Here is a short list of unprofessional conduct: 1. No normal eye exam. He doesn't do a regular eye exam. He just uses the machine and calls it good. My girlfriend's Rx supposedly didn't change for years on end. (This is completely false) He never does any fine tuning on the RX, just writes it and then writes you off until the next time your insurance will pay. 2. They super pushy when it comes to sales. My girlfriend is incredibly frugal. She came out of this place with frames that weren't completely covered by her insurance because they mixed in a bunch of pay frames when she asked to be shown only the ones covered in full. They surprised her at the register and said they thought she meant any glasses that her insurance would cover, even partially. What an obvious lie. 3. The guy won't shut up about his money. This is especially unprofessional when you consider that he take Medicaid, aka insurance for the poor. He is literally bragging about his money to people who don't have enough to afford healthcare. What an ass. So, only come here if you feel like listening to some rich guy talking about his money while he gives you a poor Rx and sells you glasses that aren't covered by your insurance.

If zero star ratings were allowed that would be the more acceptable option. Please for the love of time and money if you take anything out of this long review, please go to a real optometrist and/or a different choice of eye doctor/group practice. If you'd like to know why read on… This place is so old school it's scary that he's still practicing. As well they are built around making a profit, as is any business however they take it to the next level. Like a car salesman that doesn't take no for an answer, they try to up sell you the entire way and then go as far as over charging you. Even though you're told the total cost upon the end of your first appointment, you are then charged a differently upon the arrival of your eye ware. As for the old school method…you'll meet and older male doctor at roughly an hour and a half past your scheduled appointment, next if you've ever been to a real eye doctor you'll be expecting to have your eyes dilated before beginning the examination…wrong, not here. Straight to the examination, as well if you've been to a real doctor you're expecting to have a "Slit Lamp Exam"(remember putting your forehead and chin into a rest, while sitting at a table as the doc checks your eyes under high powered magnification), yeah once again…not here. You see instead the doctor will ise a light usually reserved for checking the responsiveness of your pupils and just have you look at various corners of the room while checking your eyes. Now we move on to the refraction test and as it goes on the doctors patients grows thin, almost as if you're delaying him…although he's seeing you an hour and a half after your scheduled appointment. Now we move on to the sales pitch portion of your visit, by someone who also seems to be bothered by you being there. Where as at most places you're given recommendations based on your current brand/design of glasses, or a moderate up sell on a product, here you're told "go and pick some pairs and get back to me" nice…real nice. Well after you're attempted to find what is your brand name and/or something close to its design/look, you're then given a much more expensive option. One that looks nothing like your choices based upon "after seeing what you've got, I'd go with these…they only cost a bit more(200+) but, offer the same look" as you choice to look over your options more carefully the full fledged sales push comes in! With them actually taking away some of your choices while talking down the others compared to their choice(s). Now the final part…the arrival, unlike most places that inspect their patients/customers arrivals before informing them "they're ready", they choose to just go with the flow. Nothing and I mean nothing expresses more professional service than a fram broken and/or cracked in two places and lenses popped out…glad "they're ready" for me! Now move on to the other pair, hands down the worst glasses I've ever owned/received/attempted to use. The frames are of the same brand but, of a much, much lower quality than what I chose from the display, lenses do not properly fit, frame is looser than can be, are not remotely close to my prescription and/or are the wrong prescription as they've made my short/medium range vision impossible with them on(that's saying something considering I'm blind without glasses) and they are the single handedly the worst attempt at a transition lens than when the product test was done by the developer when they first started. I mean my current glasses are more transitioned sitting here with a desk light than these "transitions" are with 15 minutes of full exposure sun light. The best part though…they have a no return policy, just peachy. Which after speaking with my insurance company leaves me two options attempt to have them re-ordered or I'm stuck with this garbage and having used my policy, will have to pay fully out of pocket to go to a real optometrist and practice to get done what should have been done correctly the first time.

Very friendly and professional. Have extreme difficulty with my vision though neglected and repeated warnings from the optometrist through the past 7 years. Yet the doctor was understanding yet firm about me wearing my glasses ???? to protect myself from future digression. Hats off to Dr Bench and his fantastic staff

If you're looking for an optometrist he's a good which does glasses, but he's not a ophtomlogist who dilates your eyes and does a through eye exam
