I scheduled apt's for both my husband and I online. We both filled out our paperwork through paperless technology through our email's. Everything is a lot different bc of COVID. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We both got our eye's checked and the lady (I wish I got her name) was super helpful with explaining all the tests she was doing with the giant machine. Then we saw Dr. Thom. He was very personable and funny. He let me know my eye's were in perfect shape as I do have glaucoma. Super chill Dr. Their whole team was great. Thanks again :)

It is not the first time I went to this clinic and I would come back again and again. The doctor is qualified and they have very friendly staff. They always provide the necessary assistance. I will always recommend friends and family to them.

I went to this shop Tuesday 10 minutes before closing to drop my frame but a staff didn’t allow me to do anything and said ‘we’re closing in 10 minutes. I can’t do anything. Come tomorrow.’ I said ’I can’t come early tomorrow, you’re closing 5pm.’ (They open till late only Monday and Tuesday) But she still said ‘I can’t do anything.’ I ordered my lens of glasses a day before and I supposed to bring my old frame to make shape of my lens on Tuesday. I don’t understand why they open until 8pm BUT say “I can’t do anything?!” On Monday, all staffs were great so I am not complaining for another staffs though.

I was very pleased with my experience at Lifetime Eyecare in New West. Dr. Bachra is very professional with just the right touch of humor. The office staff are very pleasant and seem to work as a team. From my examination to walking out the door with glasses I had no issues. Being a member of the Canadian Forces, I was thankful that they were able to work with DND/CAF specific paperwork without issue. I highly recommend Lifetime Eyecare.

They have a great selection of eyeglasses, I found suitable for myself. Doctor is very accurate and truly takes his time to make sure you get the best results. They also have a variety of different soft lenses brands as well.

Dr Thom was an excellent eye doctor and very attentive to all my concerns and was incredibly helpful. Good exerience overall. The only downside I found was trying to get a glasses arm screw replaced. The glasses were not purchased there and they ended up giving me a screw that popped right out within ten minutes after I left. If they didn't think they could fix it they should have given me back the original part, I would have been fine with that.

This business wilfully books patients every year, knowing full well that most insurance only covers exams every 2 years. What's worse, they book people automatically for appointments, putting the onus on the patient to cancel. What a nasty surprise for me to find out that the medical field only cares about money, with several hundred dollars down the drain for no good reason. What a horrible abuse of power and trust. The only reason this is 2 stars instead of 1 is just because the doctor himself is so awesome and helpful (he even suggested himself that I have an exam every 2 years, contrary to the staff).

The optometrists are great, but I was surprised to find out after the exam (I have eye disease) that there was a charge! I'm not happy about that at all, and wish I had known beforehand, or I would have gotten a referral to an Ophthalmologist instead.

This is a great clinic! Dr. Bjarnason is very friendly and thorough. They don't have a huge selection of frames but they are very knowledgeable and have a huge selection of contacts from a variety of brands. Their service is incredible!

Fast and efficient, with friendly staff. I had a good experience, until the end when I went to pay. I went there for an eye examination that I needed for a job application. Because there are forms to be filled for the job application, I specifically asked when I called if there was an extra charge. I was told no. At the beginning of my appointment, I asked clearly "is it $135 even though it's for a job application?" and I was told yes. However when I came to pay, I was told there was an extra $51 fee for one of the tests. The optometrist had told me they get 3 or 4 clients such as me per month (exact same job applicants), so I really doubt they weren't expecting this extra $51 fee. I just wish I had been told honestly when I had asked, more than once. Or at least during the appointment when that "unexpected" test came to light, that it came with a cost.

First of all, I want to say that I live in New West and am trying to encourage businesses in the city where I live. I went there on April 17 to get my eyes checked, staff was decent and Optometrist was very nice. Because I couldn't make my decision on that day about buying a pair of glasses, staff said "no worries, you can decide later". I came back on the 24th (mid morning) with the intention of buying the glasses I liked the week before. The staff member (different person from the week before) who opened the locked door for me asked what did I want. I responded "I am just here to buy a pair of glasses" and she said "you don't have an appointment, you can't come in", I responded "I had my eyes checked here last week and I just want to buy a pair of glasses" , she then opened the door and said in an abrupt way "Next time, you make an appointment!". I felt very akward and thought to myself "do I really want to give business here while I am treated this way?". I then left and she closed the door on me. I recognize Covid makes things harder for the front desk but it doesn' t mean Customer service doesn't exist anymore. Small businesses should be aware that being nice to a client is also key in your business.

The staff are excellent, the eye doctor is very thorough, she went over the results of my eye tests and explained the health of my eyes. The doctor also helped me with filling out a form for the armed forces, she was happy to assist me on this. Their prices are better than competitive, they will work within your budget, and offer assistance with frame selections. They definitely are a go to eye clinic, with very affordable eye exams, and a quick process of health insurance claims, they make it effortless for the customer. I highly recommend their service!!

I took my girls (8 months) in for their first eye exam and it was a great experience. The receptionists were very friendly both in person and on the phone. Booking (and changing my booking) were super easy over the phone. And Dr Thom was knowledgeable and great with kids.

My prescription was wrong, the glasses had a distortion, the second time they modified it they were pretty much the same, I just recently moved from Burnaby and this was my first time. With covid and all I wanted to skip the risk of going back and doing this for a 3rd time, the total cost of my glasses were $700 and were the cheapest. I really cant afford more mistakes, next time I will go to Costco, where I got the first ones I got.

Dr. Bjarnason was very professional in his approach. He was extremely knowledgeable and well-mannered. I probably haven't received an eye exam in a decade. He listened to my vision concerns and prescribed me with glasses. I've worn the glasses for a week and I've noticed a huge improvement! The ladies working the front area are very professional and go above and beyond. I worked with Kal who was very helpful with finding frames that worked with my face shape, personality and hair/eye colour. She took the time to ask me questions about myself to learn about me. I appreciated that. I also had an issue with my insurance provider, which had nothing to do with them, and she went above the call of duty to try to resolve the problem for me. She did resolve the problem and worked with me and my insurance provider to make sure everything was resolved. She even made a follow up phone call letting me know. I would never expect that from a business and it was very appreciated. My glass were reasonably priced and I am beyond happy with them. Everyone at New Westminster Optometry eased my anxiety about my vision concerns. I will be referring them to friends and family. I am very impressed with the service. Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication. It does not go unnoticed!

I found Dr. Thom from online reviews and was very intrigued. I have a son 2years 7 months old. Prior to seeing Dr. Thom, we saw two different doctors, as the result 2 different glasses prescriptions. My son also has an astigmatism in both eyes. We decided to go to the Dr.Thom and have not regretted it since. He explained things with simple language. We are very grateful to him for the professionalism and attentiveness.
