I wasn't 100% onboard about getting separate "screen time" glasses, but it turns out that this was the best decision that I made! They make a huge difference.

Way too expensive for both the exam and contact lenses/glass frames. One technician who was preforming some tests and I had just met said come on princess when calling me to finish up part of my eye tests, last time I checked that was an insult. I had no issue with the optometrist as she was very pleasant to deal with but the staff is another issue. Would not recommend this place at all and will take my business elsewhere.

Overall, my experience was quite positive. Everything seemed to go quite smoothly, and it seemed like there were no issues as I went through the process. I was especially happy with the people who helped me choose frames for my glasses, as they gave me recommendations, informed me of different lenses, and were overall very friendly and helpful.

Very unprofessional staff.....unfortunately front desk ... . my doctor was great can’t remember her name but she is blond and skinny. My daughters doctor was alright ,a bit cold and impatient. Now when it comes to staff working at the front desk make sure you are not dealing with Tar or whatever her name is !!! She is rude and unprofessional she likes to take personal issues out to work and that’s why I decided I’m not longer going to deal with her targeting me and my daughter constantly! She will interrupt other girls at front desk to “ educate me” on How things work! She likes to tell me different information every time and loves to patronize me. Today she took the cake!!! As a student and a mother, I work and study there for all my appointment for my daughter and my self are done in only two days a week. According to all her information that didn’t make any sense ...they didn’t have the right person to help me for a training until almost 4 weeks from now. Granted it’s Xmas and we are all busy including me. She knows my husband well and she told me over the phone” that she gets it” The reason I don’t go in the days I’m at work “ it’s because “ I’m a single mother too so ,I know”. I’m married and she knows this well as she told me “ I remember you, I was here last time “. Listen what I do or don’t do to further provide for my family is non of your business! I don’t need you to tell me I’m a single mom knowing I’m happily married. Also the fact that you want me to pay out of pocket for my daughter needs before you can check the coverage feels like you are targeting me! I feel pity for you and your sad life, but don’t take out on your customers at work. This behaviour is childish and unprofessional. I will not longer go to your company! Count on it my family ,and all the other New Westminster friends I have will not be going there. Fact I’ll make sure FYI as a company understand that customer service, first impression and professionalism counts for 75% of a company’s profit.

I want to share my experience with everybody. So I order my glasses in February and I still waiting for them and now it's April. So every time I call them they say for couple days. And today I told them that is too long they hang up on me. So nice, very nice treatment for customers after two months. I give them one star because I can't -10 . Thank you guys again you really know how to treat customers! So after they reply to me with nice words on google review, everything is same, they told me that I'll wait indefinitely....because they have issues....imagine... I get my glasses and I change stars because all good and nice people who work there.

My daughter is 2 years old and had her very first eye exame at Family Eyecare Centre. The doctor she saw - Dr. Durst, was able to keep her calm and interested throughout the entire exam and to this day she still asks when she can go back to the eye doctor. I would reccomend this office to any parent as it is such a warm and nurturing environment for little kids.

I would have given this place a 5 stars if it was not for one of the employees called Har, who was bossing everybody around including clients. I was greeted by the manager "Miguel" he was awesome! Very respectful and professional. Then I met Dr. Chan, very nice young lady. She was attentive to my medical issue and show professionalism and kindness. Until I met Har I was enjoying my experience at this clinic. Har was one of the staff who acted as superior to everybody. She was abrupt and giving ordres to the cleaning young girl as much as to clients. I stood up to read a panel displayed about the clinic services and here she appeared out of no ware to reprimand me for moving from my chair. She came very strong, made me feel like a child. I understand Covid and the implications, but there is still a better ways to talk nicely to people. When I went to pay, I ask a simple question to the lady behind the desk, as she opened her mouth to answer, Har jumped again and answered abruptly the question. She did not let her co-worker speak. I felt she was intimidating not only the clients but her co-workers as well. I hope she gets a good coaching about respect and professionalism.

I love my FYI doctors experience. The front desk staff is very welcoming. I’ve never waited for my appointment, in and out within 15 minutes for my check up. The office is conveniently located in Royal city centre mall with lots of parking and I get my other errands done at the same time.

FYIdoctors - New Westminster provides topnotch customer service. Through my own fault, I broke my glasses. I went to FYIdoctors NW to get them fixed. I figured this repair would entail having the frames replaced. I knew that the warranty had passed by about 3 weeks so I was fully prepared to pay for the cost of repair. The FYIdoc Rep said not to worry about it since it was just outside of warranty. In about 3 days I got a call to let me know that the replacement frames were in. I went in and it only took about 15 minutes for the tech to swap the lenses into the new frames. I highly recommend FYIdoctors. The New West division in particular.

Truly impressed! Neve had the eye exam done so thoroughly. From my experience, in the Lower Mainland, the exam in some of the more reputable clinics involves a patient reading the chart and has his/her eyes checked in refractors but, at this clinic, I had my vision so fine tuned that the results turned out to be quite different than the ones I had before. Plus, I got the information on the physiological health of my eyes as well.

Nice store but oh my god are these folks EXPENSIVE. Their eye exams are like over $120! An eye exam is important and all but that is way too high. Their frames and lenses are ok but I just feel like their whole deal is that they want to make some serious money off of me when I walk in. Yeah - get ready to spend big bucks if you go here.

I WAS a long-time customer of FYIdoctors, for many years...but that will now change after my latest experience. I have no issue with my optometrist, professional and very thorough. It is after my examination the nightmare began. Chose my frames and ordered my progressive glasses Dec. 8, 2015...was advised my glasses would be approx. 2 weeks (my co-worker was in a few days earlier...and she got 2 pairs of prescription glasses in under a week...but I digress)...after several phones calls in early January 2016, (and many excuses about the lab having moved, the holidays, etc, etc...) I was advised my glasses were finally in. I picked them up, after being quickly assessed that yes, they are fine and ushered out...only to discover while driving home I could not see properly out of my almost $900 new glasses. Took them back in, seeing yet another optical tech, who compared my new glasses, my old glasses and then looking at my prescription stated the obvious...they were completely wrong! So now my new glasses had to go back to the lab to be re-made and I was advised it would be approximately another 2 weeks. I finally received my new, correct glasses Feb. 1, 2016. Never once was I offered more than a weak grimace and an even weaker excuse for my patience, inconvenience and frustration during this fiasco! Talk about complete disregard for customer satisfaction! Won't be back and would not recommend to anyone else! Will be going elsewhere...where they appreciate their customers and will attempt to make amends for their errors!! Tsk, tsk FYIdoctors!!

I have not been for an eye exam in many years, so I was a little hesitant to check in at a new optometrists office. I was pleasantly surprised by how efficient and friendly the staff members were. Samantha gave me a great overview of the tests that were going to be run before I went in to see the doctor. Kayla was able to get great photos of the back of my eyes....despite the fact that I have a tough time keeping my eyes open for the photos! Dr Bhagat was very thorough and personable, and there was no sense of being rushed through. All in all, it was a smooth experience as far as doctors visits go!

I have two kids that are ages 5 and 7 years old. Since day one we have been seen by Dr walji and I have to say how great of a experience it has been. She is very professional, and has alot of patience with kids. I highly recommend her to not only kids but to adults as well. She takes the time and is very detailed in her exams. I had my eyes tested knowing my script and lenses would be difficult. I'm also very picky with frames. Christine at the New Westminster location was patient, sweet and didn't make me feel like the picky jerk I can be. (Thank you Christine and remember Destiny 2!) Now sadly my work requires vision to which I could no longer read so waiting for them is a pain. They said about 2 weeks (which is like anywhere else for eyes like mine). But... even though I was a difficult and painful customer, they understood and got mine within a week. All of the staff are great and I won't go anywhere else now. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up for this location. PS frames are decently priced and you can find something you like within budget. And if you need cool prescription sunglasses, go here. That's next! Thank you FYI for your patience and doing everything you could for me. And thank you Christine for being awesome!

Very nice staff and doctors they make you feel cared for and tended to. The exams are thorough and complete and it's great. I got my glasses really quickly and they billed my insurance directly for me so I didn't have to send out my paperwork and it was very simple and easy.

I've happily worn my distance glasses for 20 years (having had a bad experience with contacts many many years ago), but sports activities finally made it necessary to get contact lenses. I didn't realize how much of a science it is getting the right lenses, and Dr. Durst gave me samples to try numerous times, until we got the prescription just right. There was never any rush to buy the contacts until I was toally happy with how the samples worked, and there was no extra charge for the numerous times I came in to fine tune the contacts. My two children are also patients at Family Eyecare Centre, and I've always been very confident with the high level of care and attention the doctors give them. I highly recommend this office and the great staff.

I brought my 6 year old in for an annual eye exam today. We were greated at the door. We were asked to change masks to their masks which we did. And the typical covid questions were asked. The lady then asked if my son was comfortable going in by himself. He has been diagnosed with anxiety so I told her no. Anyways I went in, exam was great. Friendly doctors, everything sanitized and we were happy with how we were treated. The only thing that made me upset was that 1) she asked me if my SIX year old would go in himself 2) why they would even want the liability bringing in a child on his own. Anyways I wanted to contact them directly via email but there was no way to. I wanted them to know my concerns from my experience today.

I love this place. They helped me pick great glasses that suit my face. They did a thorough state of the art exam and fitted progressive lenses that are crystal clear. And when I dropped them, they covered the scratches under warranty. I just got fitted for contact lenses and they were very patient teaching me how to insert and remove them. I will be a customer for life. I doubt they are the cheapest, but the best quality things never are. I would highly recommend FYIDoctors New Westminster to my friends and family.

Yesterday and today I had such a great experience with FYI Doctors, New Westminster. Yesterday I went in for my eye exam and Dr. Durst gave me a lot of great advice and was very attentive. We determined that I needed to transition to progressive lenses. However, as an RN working in ICU I felt this transition would be difficult. I am already challenged with fogging and having to take my safety glasses and eyeglasses on and off frequently. Not my favourite during these times. Bettina (sorry if I spelled this wrong) was so patient and worked through different potential options to help me make this transition more smoothly. She and the FYI team took a lot of stress off me in helping me with a plan. I truly appreciate the care the team has taken with my situation and taking time to understand my profession. Today was the best experience because they helped me get safety goggles too!!:) To the entire FYI team (including the manager who I did not get to speak with), thank you so very much for all you did to help me and many others. I’m so grateful. Also, you are doing such a good job staying clean, organized, kind and patient. Each of you is going above and beyond.

I've been going to Family Eyecare Centre for years. It truly is a "Family Eyecare Centre". All staff are so friendly and welcoming, make you feel at home. They help book appointments to accomodate our family's busy schedule. I don't feel rushed, like we need to get in/out so they can get to the next patient/client. Eyeglass purchases can be expensive, you want to ensure you've made the right decision. Family Eyecare ensures the decision is best for you in all aspects, including financially. They do not push you to buy the highest price items or talk you into a purchase, rather they help you find the best option. Should you have a problem, concern or any question they are always there to answer. They treat my teen & pre-teen, with respect and courtesy ensuring their needs for glasses are meet and explained accurately, not just speaking to myself expecting me to relay to them. All staff is fully knowledgeable and upto date on all that is current in lenses, frames. There is a wide enough range of frames so you can find the perfect pair. I cannot think of any reason why I would take my business/family anywhere else to have our eyes examined or to purchase our glasses. Thanks, Debbie

What a wonderful experience! My 4 year old son had his eyes looked at today after mentioning difficulty seeing in one of his right eye. The staff could not have been any better with children. They were patient and made the experience fun and exciting. I was blown away at all the creative techniques used to do a examination with young children. One of the doctors here performed eye exam with my 5 years old daughter like with the adult, filled the prescription incorrectly, missed some measurements. Result: wrong lenses and they refused to correct their mistakes. Better stay away.
