I was referred to see Dr Budning as young as 6 months of age do to strabismus and amblyopia I am forever great for his in depth knowledge back then I am now over 18years of age and my strabismus and amblyopia is now mostly gone and under control

Dr.Budning , he is a fantastic and extremely caring doctor, great staff too. He has helped my special needs child with his vision and eye care, always

The place is old and dirty. The entire staff have attitude. Walls are plastered with signs of not to do this and that. We booked first appointment in the morning at 8:30 purposely to minimized off time at school and they managed to be 30 minutes behind. Living proof that they do the respect the patient whatsoever.

Dr. Budning comes highly recommended, however in my experience with my son after he diagnosed him and I had questions about his diagnosis he couldn't be bothered to explain and rushed us out the door. He ordered tests, didn't explain how to prepare for those tests we arrived as sick kids my son had eaten so the test was canceled.. no one re booked or followed up. My son was supposed to be seen every 6 months for follow up appointments with his office.. I think he only saw Dr. Budning 2-3 times in the 3 years he was his patient, just threw him to the side and let the optometrists look at him and then when I went to book his six month appointment they told me it's been more than a year need a new referral.. so this kid is going to fall through the cracks so they can collect a referral fee?? Might be knowledgeable but his follow up, follow through and general concern for his patients is non existent and the people who say he's caring must be his staff leaving comments because this was the most rushed, Dr. who seemed like he couldn't be bothered. Absolutely sickening the "care" my son received..GO ELSEWHERE FAST!

My friend has been trying to call these guys for weeks. She has an appointment book and wanted to confirm the date and time since it was booked so long ago, but they legitimately don't answer their phone or emails. They also charge you a lot of money if you miss your appointment, seems like a strange coincidence. She called 27 times today. This is no way to treat your current clients and I hope your future ones see this and are weary of this shadiness. What's further disappointing as they have fake reviews with no actual comments written with them from years ago just to have an average of 3 ratings. I've heard this doctor is very well advanced but would be legitimately a hero if you ran an office with a bit more courtesy.

I don't mind paying for missed or late appointments, however, being too busy (staff excuse) is no longer a valid reason for not having a reminder service. There are PLENTY of automated options available.

Great Doctor he really opened my eyes on my kids eyes. Extremely impressed with his entire office. They are supper friendly, professional and helpful. I truly love this office

I'm surprised at the negative reviews. I was referred from out of town and had an appointment within 2 weeks. We were in and out in just over an hour and staff was courteous and efficient. The doctor comes highly recommended, seems quite proficient and I felt I received a thorough examination.

Manoj

Our pediatrician referred us to them for our baby's eye exam. We are really Shocked to see the unprofessionalism since they never called for 3 months and instead sent a false report to our pediatrician stating that appointment was missed. How can someone miss an appointment which was never fixed in the first place and sheer lack of responsibility from them in keeping even basic communication. Tried to call them several times and nobody picks the call. What a shame !

Grace Han

Nobody answers the phone ever, tried to email as they suggested but emails got returned. website doesn't work, email doesn't work, phone line doesn't work, doesn't allow you to leave a voicemail, how the heck can people get in touch with you? I am just anxious to change the specialist appointment time

Dr. Budning is compassionate and a brilliant surgeon! He and his team are very skilled. The volume of patients attending his office speaks to their expertise.

Dr Andrew Budning is an outstanding physician, a brilliant ophthalmologist, and an inspiring human being. His entire staff are to be commended on the difference they make daily. Dr Budning operated on me when I was diagnosed with cataracts at age 12. I was then subsequently diagnosed with a whole slew of other ocular conditions, including retinal detachments, corneal edema, and glaucoma. Given the complexity of my childhood situation, I would have been blind a long time ago were it not for his care. He remains to be one of my childhood heroes, and I am still thankful and in awe of the work he does to this day. New patients who are not familiar with the road and struggles one has to go through in terms of tackling ocular conditions and blindness shouldn't be so quick to judge long wait times. Parents of children who are struggling with blindness should be grateful that they have such an outstanding doctor who are willing to see them. It is a testament to Dr Budning's talent and demand that his office is crammed and full to the brim on a constant basis. Personally, I would be more concerned if his office was empty and there were no wait times, as that doctor would probably not be one I want operating on my condition. Bravo to Dr Budning and his entire team, and my most heartfelt thanks for changing my life.

Best ophthalmologist EVER. Specializes in strabismus.

No one ever picks up the phone ! If you can’t do a reminder call the day before then at least pickup the phone when we make the effort to confirm the appointment!

Bill Ahmed

Worst wait times at this clinic; expect to wait 2-3 hours in a crowded waiting room even after an appointment, Dr. Budning is a good Optemtrist so I guess it’s worth the wait!

Terrible place, starting from the dirty chairs and walls, rude receptionist who never picks up the phone getting to the disrespectful attitude to our kids and their parents. I have heard the doctor is one of the best but he barely talked to me, sitting with his back facing me. I haven't received any details about my daughters condition just handed a glass prescription. Also, I was informed that they won't send any reports to EVERYONE. There was a request for that from Sick kids hospital. If I don't have to I would never take my kids back to that place.

I went my whole life with strabismus. Lazy Eye . I had my first surgery in 1978 at 4 years old . It didn’t work . My eye pointed far to the left . I had my second eye surgery at 12. It didn’t work either . As a teenager and as a young adult when I would meet people, they would look behind them, because they didn’t think I was talking to them. I had to cover my lazy eye and to get them to see I was talking to them. At 38 I asked an optometrist ( Dr. Victor Kuraitus) in St. Catharines if anything could be done? He told me about Dr. Budning, and said he would send me up there to Mississauga. I had to wait almost a year for a consult . It wasn’t an emergency. I had to wait a while ( hours) in a crammed office with people from all over, some as far as Sault Saint Marie . I only met him once, after the surgery, and I only had less than 5 minutes of his time. I was grateful for that 5 minutes. 6 years later my eye is straight. I was told if might drift after 5 years or less . It still hasn’t. 6 years later. If you do some research, as I did, you’ll find he is a leader in his field. He helps children with horrible eye diseases. He has a gift, and is in high demand. If I had to wait for 10 hrs in his office, holding my pee, to have that guy looking after my eyes ? I wouldn’t hesitate for a second. The province pays for mostly everything, you simply have to endure a wait? Don’t complain. Don’t snivel and whine. If there were more like him, you wouldn’t have to wait. Dr. Budning, you changed my life, and I won’t forget it. Thank you sincerely, and gratefully, Alan Plut.

There best eye doctor ever. Especially for kids. He really care. He did the surgery for my daughter and reliable.

iwannaseenow1

Terrible experience trying to book an appointment. No one answers the phone, and the message gives a very long, convoluted email address that is said very fast that even after calling back 3 times I still couldn't figure it out. Their website isn't active either. Just piss poor customer service.

Shahnaz Khan

He is the best eye doctor.he takes too much care of the patients.he is a very polite.he cares about his patients.

Lina

They need to learn how to deal with human beings as they have no people skills. Dr Budning walked into the room with no "hello" to me or my 2 year old daughter, just commanded me to sit on the chair and hold my daughter. She was afraid of him by his abrupt attitude and then literally checked her in 10 seconds and we left. He doesn't allow you to ask questions, he is always rushed and makes you feel like it's an assembly line in his office. His secretary was another story, so rude, rushed and they all make you feel like their taking to an ant vs a human. Definitely not going back there.

S Hanson

Been attending for about 2 years. Was referred from Sick Kids. Sometimes the wait can be really long. The office lets to know to be prepared for the long wait. It's good to have activities for the kids to do. The waiting room is small so I try not to bring big strollers or other family members as you may have to wait in the hall. The last time I was in the office, it looked like some dusting was overdue.

Impossible to get a hold of , long wait times, no reply to emails until about 4 days later

Wendy Hamilton

Dr Budning surgically repaired the damaged eye muscle that was causing double vision & no depth perception (adult onset strabismus). It has been 1 year since my surgery and my vision is 100 % improved! He specializes in working with children but took on my case (I am 79 years old)…I am so thankful. It was very difficult playing golf when I saw 2 balls there.

Srilalitha Gundi

May be a good doctor but a very immature surgeon...

sahar mufti

Ok so first of all they never answer the phones and email. Very bad reception service. And then there’s this technician cathie, she has a major attitude problem and a very harsh and rude behaviour with the kids and parents . My 5 year old is scared to visit this office due to cathie’s rude behaviour. Extremely poor service & pathetic behaviour

Shanica F

Since the reception never answers the phone, sent an email to book an appointment for my son to be told they no longer look after patients outside of Mississauga. My son was referred to this place by SickKids when he was born and went there for 11 years and not even a courtesy call or an email or a formal letter in the mail stating these important changes. Very unprofessional. Dr. Budning is nice but aside from having to pay for parking, coming in for an appointment and still having to wait another hour while sitting outside on the carpet due to the size of the small office (Pre Covid), I'm completely turned off and will NEVER EVER refer anyone to this place.
