The optometrist (forgot her name) was extremely professional and offered cost benefit analyses for all of the procedures she recommended. Other staff were equally as friendly and supportive, allaying my hypochondria and joking with my wife and I for the majority of the appointment. I get squeamish about anything doctor-related but only felt minimal discomfort due to the combined efforts of the team at Central Optometry. They will have my business for future eye check ups and scans.

Dr Bolt doesn't cut corners and makes sure you get the best possible results, she explains everything in details and answers all your questions. I went for my first eye exam with central optometry about a month ago and they were so amazing! I've worn glasses since I was very young and have pretty bad vision with a astigmatism in both eyes and a couple other unique vision problems. With that being said I was very nervous to find a new Optometrist in London. Central Optometry eased my anxiety as soon as I walked in the door. They had a technician greet me and she got me started right away. The technician was very informative on what was included in my first exam and educated me on different photo options for my eyes. When I was with the Optician getting my exam done she was very helpful, answered all my questions and was eager to help. If you've had terrible eyes like me since you were young you know the hardest and most dreadful part of having glasses is getting new glasses frames that fit your face shape AND work well with your strong prescription. In the past I would have to try and do this on my own, however, at Central Optometry the Optician gave an in depth update to the technician about my prescription and current glasses so she was prepared to help me when my exam was finished. I came out and the technician had already picked out a handful of glasses frames that she thought would best suit my needs. I was able to fined a perfect pair of frames in 10 minutes !! for me that's AMAZING! With the current Covid 19 pandemic they were very well organized, prepared, and sanitary. I highly recommend this business !

The staff was helpful and friendly. They took the time to explain my options. I am pregnant and diabetic so they sent the results to my doctor that saved me a trip. My dog chewed the plastic ear part of my glasses and they easily replaced them for me. All areas are constantly being wiped down and everything sanitized. Wow! The young ladies at the reception hall are wonderful, they are so relational, welcoming and listens intently without being bias irrespective of who you are or where you come from. My first experience there was so amazing and I never stopped praying for the whole staff working there. AMAZING optometrist. I've been looking for a good optometrist for years and I'm SO glad I stumbled across Central Optometry. I was treated very kindly and explained through the process thoroughly. They did exams on my eyes that I've never taken before and I was reassured that all of my concerns were valid and explained that I had nothing to worry about in terms of my eye health after the examinations were done. They have a great selection of frames. They are a little on the higher side due to being brand name frames, but they are SUPER quality. The secretary who helped me also has an amazing sense of style and knew exactly what frames would work for me! Thanks for all of your help!

When I suddenly started having double vision and needed a new local optometrist, I tried out Central Optometry, and I'm so grateful that I did. The receptionist was exceptionally helpful and booked an appointment for me right away when I described the issue I was having. Both Dr. McCann and Dr. Traczuk checked my eyes, identified the problem, and immediately had me on medicinal eye drops. I had follow-up appointments with Dr. McCann a number of times throughout the next few weeks while my eyes recovered, and he was always considerate and knowledgeable. With his expertise, my eyes quickly healed and he went out of his way to ensure that I had the right prescription and felt comfortable with my new contacts. My time with Central Optometry has been immensely positive. I wholeheartedly recommend both Dr. McCann and Dr. Traczuk to anyone who needs prescription contacts or glasses, needs a check up, or has any eye discomfort.

I loved getting an email reminder I was due for an appointment and the new booking software was super quick and easy to use; I appreciated the convenience of being able to pull up their schedule, as well as my work and personal calendars all at the same time to find a date & book it myself. They also sent a reminder email with details on where to go, including thoughtful instructions about the current construction near their office. I also appreciate that Dr. McCann clearly cares very deeply about his patients and also the advancement of the optometry field. He now offers an upgraded scan of your retina that takes a 200 degree photo of the back of your eye and the picture resolution is unreal -- second scanner of its kind in Canada! His commitment to his patients and providing outstanding eye care is evident. I highly suggest Dr. McCann and his wonderful team.

I have always had a fear of getting my vision checked since I have a long family history of glaucoma and for this reason, have not gone for eye check-ups as frequently as I should. The staff at Central Optometry put me at ease from the second I walked in the door - from the warm receptionist to Dr. McCann's friendly and competent demeanor, I felt I was in good hands. Dr. McCann took the time to explain each step of the exam and showed/explained the pictures and 'x-rays' he took of the inside of my eye. Luckily, everything looked normal. They have many brand named frames to choose from that are a little less expensive then other major vendors. Great part is if you see a pair of frames at another store, simply call provide them with a model number and they’ll more than likely have them ordered in a few days!

I am a senior woman new to London going on three years now my first experience with central optometry was when I ordered my contacts the Receptionist said she would call when they come in. Finally I called back to ask why are they taking so long she checked and said oh they’re here I said that’s not very nice I’m waiting for them I need them and you have them sitting there. That was all that was said I went and picked them up. My next situation with the receptionist I called to book an appointment, they informed me that my optometrist is retiring the only appointment I can get is September 15 but I need my contacts before then, she was kind enough to tell me she would make arrangements to get one pair to tie me over I was so thankful! I waited for 5 days and no call. So I called back asking why would it take so long and i’m not very happy. They apologized said they would have them delivered to my house. The next thing I get I call from the manager she said her name was Angela and informed me they don’t like the way that I talk to their staff she said I was belligerent I never swear. So I said what do you mean by that I said do you have this on recording because I was not rude I was unhappy big difference she lied to me and said she was sitting there and can overhear the conversation and now I have to find a doctor to examine my eyes. Response to Wes - the Relaxsee info you emailed me AFTER insulting my intelligence and talking in circles like I was the one with no transparency, was way too little - way too late - you did me no favours Will not return to Central Optometry! Absolutely no transparency with the product they tell you they are ordering for you (Trifocals, no lines), what they bill for (Progressives) and the product you actually receive (Relaxsee). Two years ago when I first went here and again this year, they kept trying to sell me Progressives. I stated several times that I am not interested as I do not want to go through the adjustment period needed with the Progressives. I need glasses for distance and have no problem removing them to look at something close up. This year they convinced me to get Trifocals (three lens ranges, close, intermediate and distance, with no lines on lens). I was told they would be a good intro to Progressives (again said I do not want Progressives). I was told I could exchange if I do not like them. I picked up the "Trifocals" just prior to Covid shut down. When I contacted them to say I do not want the "Trifocals", I wanted to exchange for Bifocals, I at first got a hard time on the phone that "The office has been re-opened for 60 days, may be issue with exchange since outside the 30 days trial period). As I stated I was then comfortable to be in close proximity with strangers, I was prepared then to exchange. Once there, I was able to exchange to bifocals. When I inquired about a partial refund for difference in cost from Trifocals with no lines to Bifocals WITH LINES, that when all of a sudden I was told I did not get "Trifocals" that I actually got these "Relaxsee's" and they are the same price as Bifocals (again with lines). I inquired further as I was going on the information I was provided about the product I ordered and paid for and what was submitted to my insurance for partial coverage. When you research the cost of multi-view lens with and without lines, big difference in cost for no lines - that's when Wes gets on the phone to insult my intelligence and give me the run-around about what I actually got, compared to what I was told I was getting. Talking to me like I was an idiot when I kept referring to the information that THEY TOLD ME at TIME of PURCHASE. Wes and his business will never "see" me or my husband again. If they can't provide any transparency and then belittle me when I had further inquiry of cost, I don't need them. Good optometrists are a dime a dozen in the city - already have a new - straight forward with information optometrist, for myself and husband. DO NOT RECOMMEND CENTRAL OPTOMETRY IN THE LEAST - wish I could give them a ZERO STAR RATING - MUCH MORE DESERVING THAN ONE STAR

I don't know where they are getting all their 5 star reviews but doubt that they are all honest. I was a patient of Dr. Traczuk for 21 years and always had wonderful service until he sold his practice and moved downtown on Rideout Street. I had lots of problems. I needed a new prescription but had my lenses fitted into my old frame. The frame broke a few months later in 2018 and I called Central Optometry and was assured that the frame was under warranty and to come in to change the lenses. I came but was then told that the frames were no longer under warranty so I had to buy new frames. I chose a high end frame to replace the broken one. After they put my lenses in I could not focus and had to see the doctor who immediately saw the problem. Again I had to wait for the new lenses and this time I could focus okay, but found out later on that the left lens did not fit right and buckled the new frame. I also had the lenses coated for sun protection but no one told me that the coating was sensitive to heat. The glass expanded and messed up all the coating making it difficult to see. I called Optical to tell them and was seen by the optician who explained the problem with the lenses. I had another appointment with Dr. Traczuk who prescribed new lenses as my prescription had changed. I asked to reuse my expensive frame but noticed later that the frame was messed up, called the company again and was assured that the frame was under warranty and would be ordered immediately. I called a week later to see if the new frames had come in to be fitted with new lenses I had just ordered and was told not yet. The following week I got a call saying that the lenses were in and to come for a fitting. I asked if the frame had also come in and was told no frame was ordered and nothing was known about it. Also it would not be under warranty. I became angry and insisted on a refund and a copy of my new prescription so that I could purchase elsewhere. Every dealing with this outlet was problematic and frustrating. I am sorry for Dr. Traczuk who was always exemplary.

They are also the first office in Ontario to be able to take a 200° photo of your retina. It's amazing to see your eye in that much detail, and I felt reassured that I was getting the best information possible on the health of my eyes. I thought I went there for my healthcare needs (eye exams) but found that it was more like a business. Dr. McCann spent most of the time promoting his products (vitamins, eye drops etc.) and convincing me how those products are better than what I can get from Pharmacies/Costco, than my actual exam. When I reached check out, a packaged of vitamins and eyedrops was ready to go for me. As my eyes were blurry due to drops and glasses were foggy due to the mask, which probably impacted my brain power, I did not realize that I was being charged $394 (ouch) for my exam plus those Omega 3, eye compresses and eyedrops. Since I had been using the vitamins and drops I was already had, when I opened the package recently, I realized that Vitamins contain Gelatin (that I can not use due to restrictions). There go my over $200 down the drain. Since it has been almost 3 months so obviously don't foresee any refund. Previously, I had my eye exam with Dr.Traczuk and his full focus was on my eyes, not selling his products. Usually, I am very considerate while writing reviews, I could not stop myself from writing a negative review as I don't think scare techniques should be used in healthcare.

I’ve been with Central Optometry for years and I’ve never had an issue and staff are always welcoming. They are efficient, organized and try their best to get you in and out so you can continue on with your day. The staff here are so great at what they do. They are extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. You can tell right away that you’re in good hands. I was unsure if choosing a more detailed camera for the eye exam was just a money grab and the one girl went and showed me a split screen of HER personal eye photos to show the difference in quality! (Worth spending a bit extra on the better camera). This optometrist knows his stuff and I wouldn’t bother looking elsewhere. Just come here. There’s free parking too which is not common downtown.

I was having eye pain over the long weekend and this morning it was worse than ever. The office was able to fit me in for an emergency check and found that it was a simple fix. I was given a Bruder Heat Eye Compress to relieve dryness which is actually so convenient to use. I put the mask in a microwave for 20-30 seconds, then apply over my closed eyes for 10 minutes. I just used it and the heat provided gave me relief in minutes . Love this thing! Thank you very much!

The most comfortable experience I’ve ever had getting my eyes checked, Heather was fantastic and easy to talk to. I forget the assistants name but she was great too! They have all the latest equipment and give you a lot of proactive education regarding eye care. Vanessa helped me pick out a set of frames that I never would have picked if looking on my own but LOVE them more than any pair I’ve ever had before.
