I was extremely disappointed from the second that I walked in. The way that the elderly person ahead of me was treated made my heart sink. Communication was incredibly frustrating throughout, and when I picked up my glasses I was not happy with them. When I finally threw my hands in the air and walked out, the person working there was very polite and professional, and I do give her credit for attempting to resolve the situation. I have now been back and they were very helpful. I'll be getting my new glasses soon and will post an update.
The women working as a receptionist/glasses sales has to be the most disrespectful person I have ever met. I went in for a simple return on some glasses I had purchased 2 weeks earlier. This request seemed to be something no one at this location has ever dealt with. I was made to feel as if my request was such a bother to all I dealt with. I will never return to this location for any vision needs. I will be letting all my friends and family know about the horrible experience I had here. It seems to me judging by the reviews I am not the only one.
The place itself is good, but the hours posted here are wrong. They close at 5:00pm on Saturdays for sure. I got there at 5:30 and they were closed.
It says here they close at 10 p.m. but today I'm here since 6 p.m. 7:30 p.m. and they are closed, and no one can tell me if they are on break or they are closed already.
Just about as rude as it gets. Within 30 seconds on the phone I decided to go elsewhere because of how rude the guy on the phone was.
This places asked me to pay $30 just to open a file at the Walmart vision center (before I can order anything) To me and to anyone this should be seen as a scam because you can buy glasses and lenses from any other place WITHOUT having to pay this $30 file opening charge. Is it just because this is a "Walmart" vision center or am I missing something here. Regardless I'm never going back to this Walmart
Super disappointed. I assumed that they would have the same options that the traditional eye-ware chains offer but be less expensive. Their overall pricing however was not that much different. No luck either with their eye test which surprisingly costed more than the regular chains. In my case I have a very strong prescription so I go with the high lens reduction. I did not do so 2 years ago which is very evident on my current pair. So I specifically showed them my current glasses and asked if they could reduce the lens thickness in the new pair. I was assured they could. I was also told it would take a week to complete. I waited 3 weeks before it arrived and even then I had to visit them a couple times to check on the status. When I eventually picked up the glasses the lens thickness was identical to my old pair. Was told its the best they can do because I have a very strong prescription. So after a very circular conversation about my original request I now have another pair of thick lens glasses. In fairness, they did say I didn't have to take the glasses if I was not satisfied but I'd have to go through another few weeks of waiting which I don't have time for. What an annoyance! I guess I should have known better and stayed with the traditional chains. At least there they have the service or lens type that can be further reduced for a few dollars more. And their turnaround times are faster. Thanks Walmart for a very frustrating experience. Guess where I will NOT get my next pair from.
My friend was given the wrong lenses and was literally insulted by the receptionist. The service is horrendous and completely unacceptable. This woman should not be working with the public. I am absolutely livid. I can't even imagine how she is with other customers! My friend is the sweetest person you will ever meet and I can't believe she was treated with such disrespect! Disgusting.
I went in today to order new glasses and the gentleman open the door for me early and was very helpful. Even offered to rush delivery
Zahra and robin are extremely friendly and professional. very experienced fast service excellent prices all around a very good experience I would highly recommend this vision center ! Go see zahra for all of you vision needs !!
I found the optometrist to be pleasant and competent no issues there. The assistants however are a different story , very rude and unpleasant to deal with. There really is no excuse for the way the female member of staff talks to people. It wasn't just with me. while I was waiting for my appointment I was listening to her interact with other customers and it was appalling.
I purchased eye glasses twice at Walmart, to save money. Two years apart. Both times glasses were correcting my vision ok, but my eyes got tired after 30 min of reading. I have now twice expensive glasses from a normal optometrist and no problem. The same story with sunglasses from Walmart, plus frames sliding down my nose and colours distorted to the red of spectrum. I did not complain, no desire to talk to them.
Very disappointing.....I feel that this business really lacks integrity. Just a heads-up, this is a bit of a longer review but I wanted to provide as much info as possible for fellow shoppers. I had my eye exam here in March 2019. After I paid for the exam, I noticed the prescription did not have my "pupillary distance" or "pd" marked on it. So I asked the girls to measure me and make a note of the numbers on my prescription slip (these numbers are needed for me to order glasses FROM ANY SUPPLIER). The first girl got very uncomfortable about it and called the other girl over to explain to me that, as a policy, Walmart does not provide that. She said it was a "liability on her as the optometrist" because "it is only her professional opinion". She then said, if I bought my glasses there, I would not need it. I was originally planning to buy 2 pairs from them right after the exam, but I also wanted to buy a couple "cheapies" online for working around the yard. THE TRUTH IS, THEY WANT TO FORCE PEOPLE TO BUY THEIR GLASSES, instead of earning their business through honesty and integrity. I called the girls out on this tactic and after argueing with them for about 5 minutes, she then offered to sell me MY measurements for an extra $30! (Can you believe that? The eye exam was already $20 more than another place I called but they had a cancellation, so I went with them). I told them both "Thank you but I'll take just my prescription." and then I left. So, to sum it up, I paid the vision place inside Walmart (Sarnia) for the eye exam and then had to leave without the info I needed to actually order glasses. I called the management at Walmart to complain. I explained everything to her (management), and as of yet, I am still waiting for her to call back, hoping something would be done to make things right. I hope she does and will update this review when it is. I was able to get my pupillary distance numbers from another eye glass supplier, but I wanted to share my experience so everyone else knows what to expect here. I later learned that the online eyeglass suppliers have instructions on their website showing how to measure PD. I am very dissappointed with the Sarnia Walmart vision centre and I won't be spending any money there again.
If you need to get your eyes checked LOOK NO FURTHER!! When you go to vision centre, the friendly staff like Zahra will treat you like family and make your eyes their priority. Don't waste time going anywhere else because vision centre has everything you need. Don't be short sighted, stop by vision centre!
The optometrist was great! Very patient. And the glasses I picked are good. The only problem I had was with the other staff. Two out of three of them where rude, however one in praticular was talking down to me. I did not appreciate him. I suggest the vision centre in St.Catharines on Fourth ave. Very helpfull and friendly.
There is a young woman who works at this location who I found to be rude, blunt, unhelpful, and crass. When I called to inform them that my lenses were not satisfactory she wouldn't let me get a word in and kept repeating herself like I was unable to comprehend what she was telling me because she was not answering my question! I found her to be no better in person than on the phone. I will not be returning to this establishment for future vision care.
Great customer service! I was educated about contact lenses and the choices I had that best suited my eye sight!
Very terrible experience with reception staff acting unprofessional and unpleasant. Doctor makes frequent errors when prescribing lenses to patients. Staff who are already unhelpful, reluctantly do little (to nothing) about fixing customer issues, such as providing a merited refund due to the doctor's prescription error. Nobody is being held accountable for this inappropriate behaviour which will result in many people boycotting this location, including myself!!
The optometrists are good, no issues with either of them. However, the lady has got to be the rudest person on earth. Not just my experience, but also my husband's and another friend. If she doesn't like her job, she should just quit and let someone else be employed there. Speaking loudly and slowly to people as if they can't comprehend her simple sentences, is inexcusable. My family and I will be spending our money elsewhere, the savings are not worth the aggravation.
