THE ABSOLUTE WORST CONTACT FITTING EVER! DO NOT GO THERE! I'll explain, I went for a contact fitting. Dr. Kading told me my contact fitting was difficult because of keratoconus and would cost $800 for a fitting plus the price of the contacts. I say no problem lets do it.. Two weeks later the contact come and they don't fit and fall out of my eyes, they reorder. Four weeks later the next pare come and and they kinda fit but the prescription was off so they are going to reorder. Six weeks later I call and ask where the new contacts are. They made a mistake and forgot to order them. Four more weeks and the new lenses are in. I try them for a week and the fit is terrible they totally hurt my eyes. I call and tell them they are not working and I need a different type of contact or different size or shape. So he decides to try a soft lens. Wait 4 weeks for new soft ones to come in. They don't fit and fall out of my eyes. Wait 4 weeks for next pair. They fit but the prescription was over corrected and I cant see close up. Wait 4 weeks for new pair and same thing, they got the prescription wrong. By this time its been over 6 months and I get the first bill. Here are the charges to get a contact lens fitting and one pair of contacts. Eye imaging $200 Eye imaging $100 Exam $50 Fitting $800 Contact lens $750 Contact lens $750 Eye Imaging $200 Ultra sound eye $25 Eye Exam $75 Fitting $300 Office visit to pick up contacts $109 Office visit to pick up contacts $109 Office visit to pick up contacts $109 Eye Ultra sound $25 For a grand total of $3602 And the prescription is still wrong! BEWARE!

I have been going to specialty eye in Kirkland for well over a decade! Its in a great location for me. My entire family comes here. The staff is so nice and friendly. I love both doctors, both are very explanatory and thorough. I plan on staying here for as long as I have bad eyesight. :) The only thing I don’t loove about coming here is the service in the building is poor. At least for me. But a little time away from the phone isn’t bad, just have to remember to bring something w me to fidget w while waiting. They have a sweet little play area for kids and a really beautiful establishment. They always have awesome frames to choose from! I’m always trying things on even when I’m there regarding my contacts. Can’t help but look!

Both my son and I love coming here - me for my annual exam (post-LASIK), my son twice a year as he is at high risk of developing nearsightedness. The doctors are knowledgeable, very down to earth, professional and friendly. Supporting staff is welcoming and organized. We always have a wonderful experience here and will be back for sure. Based on a personal referral, I was so hopeful for a good experience when I brought my 10yo son to see Dr. Kristi Kading at this office today. Unfortunately, the front office misplaced all of my forms and had therefore not transferred his previous records to the office (which I was previously told was critical to providing an accurate assessment), and then he was examined by a completely different doctor without any explanation. It was also clear from the doctor's comments that she was not aware of the information on the forms that they had asked me to complete (which I was able to provide them a second time at the appointment). I have bumped the rating up to 2 stars because I was able to gain some insights from my discussion with the other doctor, and everyone was very polite and cordial during our visit. It's possible that the doctors here are very good. But until they figure out their office logistics and improve patient communication, it's going to be difficult to provide a consistently positive experience to their patients.

I would've never believed what happened today was even possible. I'm 33. I was told I was functionally blind in one eye at 8 or 9 years old - the strabismus and amblyopia one-two punch. I never knew what binocular vision was like and was only mildly inconvenienced by not being able to solve a Magic Eye, so as long as I had that one good eye, there were no problems. Unfortunately, I no longer have that "one good eye" in tip-top shape. Blurry vision that gets in the way of work brought me in to see Dr. Kristi Kading this morning. I expected guidance on the issue, and a plan for moving forward, which I did get. I did not expect to see in 3D for the first time - the only time - in my life. It's difficult to articulate what that's like. I kept reaching out and touching things to gauge distances, because the monocular depth cues I've been using my whole life didn't provide enough information. I was always told that there was no hope of this, and I believed them. I hadn't thought about it in over a decade. Today, in one doctor's visit, I went from fretting over whether my right eye can keep taking the strain of doing the work of two eyes... to both eyes actually working together. I am blown away. I'm going to go have a celebratory dinner. This means so much to me - thank you, Dr. Kading, and thank you, everyone at Specialty Eye Care who helped me out.

I had been here before and it was wonderful at the time. This time stood out as well as exceptionally positive. I had been to a different optometrist earlier in the day who couldn't help with my exact request but the reason they gave wasn't exactly true. I scheduled an emergency appointment at Specialty because I knew I could get the help I needed from them. The positive review begins with the fact that they took my number down and said they would follow up with me in the event an appointment spot opened up the same day. They very soon called me back and could get me in within a couple hours. Not only were they able to help me out, they saved us all time and money by only helping with the exact issue I had with the earlier place rather than taking the path that would have resulted in more money for them. I legitimately felt like they cared about me and the problem I brought in, and I will definitely going back in the near future (as a follow up from a previous check up). Every interaction I had today (and in the past) felt like they were going above and beyond what most places would do. As I said before, I actually felt like they cared about me and my situation. I would definitely recommend them.

I had the best experience here. They went above and beyond to accommodate me since I had to travel from AK. The staff was very friendly and helpful with some insurance issues I was having. It was clear that Dr. Kading and Dr. Bhangu had familiarized themselves with my case as they were able to answer so many of my questions on my first visit. I have keratoconus and had to be fitted with scleral lenses. My visit was quick and comfortable. I received my lenses a couple weeks later and it was immediately clear that they got it right the first time! I can see better than I’ve been able to in years and my new contacts are more comfortable than soft lenses ever have been for me. I’ve always dreaded the eye doctor just because I never knew what to expect with my condition. Now I feel like I have a clear path forward and I am very thankful!

I saw Dr Kading after dealing with eye problems for over six months. I saw another specialist before him and after seeing him I was glad I did. He was very, very helpful and explained everything and came up with an action plan. I would recommend him highly to anyone having eye issues, you wouldn’t get better help anywhere else.

I am normally seen in the Seattle office, but I needed to have lipiflow and I wanted to have it done sooner than later, since I have severe dry eye. I happened to be working in Kirkland one day and they had an opening, so I scheduled. The doctor was super attentive and broke down the process to me, so I knew what I was getting myself into. They had a technician sit and talk with me while I was getting lipiflow done. They even took a picture for me! If you haven't heard of the procedure, look it up it actually looks quite funny. They turned a somewhat more serious procedure into a fun one. I did my follow up appointments in Seattle, but I am very happy with the results and the doctor I saw in Kirkland actually works in Seattle too!

THE WORST EYE OFFICE! They change appointments however they want and not letting you know. Dr Kristi Kading has seen my kids since they were 9m old (now they are 8&10y.old) every time there were some mix up with their appointments and that is very annoying. We stayed every time because Dr. Kristy is amazing, however I had enough. I call to schedule an appointment with her for the two kids. Requested her specifically, they found opening in a mount and a half. Ok, we waited. The appointment day - at the office we find that the time has change, after that different doctor came in....I had enough and I canceled my son’s appointment. This is complite JOKE! If they don’t take customer request serious, I believe they don’t need us. After all we are paying, so we can chose with who to work. They can’t just change our appointment times and our doctors however they want. I have seen a lot of front office people change at that office and keep seeing the same problems, oh well it may be not the front office people, it may be the way hoe this office work. ANOING! Great!! I don’t have time for that anymore. They are plenty more eye specialists.

I’m 66 and been having eye appointments for 50 years. This is the BEST TEAM CONSISTENTLY!!! From the technicians to the doctors- they are so gifted. I tried another group and immediately returned where I never I received superior care from advanced testing methods to thorough explanations! I am watching my eye health carefully with my and my family history with astigmatisms, glaucoma, macular degeneration, AND cataracts. Go the the specialists!!!

Just an FYI you should expect to pay extra for contact lenses if you want Specialty Eye care Group to call in a prescription after your first visit. Contact Lens Service Fees: The fees include the assessment of current lenses for fit, power, and health. In the event that a contact lens is not successful the fess for service are not refundable. If you wear soft/ disposable lenses: - Spherical $100 - Toric (Astigmatic) $125 - Spherical Mono-vision or Multi-Focal: $150 If you wear RGP Lenses - RGP Sphere/ Toric /or High Rx Soft Contacts $200 - Complex RGP or Bifocal $250 *If you are a new contact lens wearer there will be a $25 training fee. The cost of contact lens supply is not included in the fees above.

Terrible Billing help. Asked clear and direct questions and was hung up on because they could not answer. Made an appointment to see a doctor and when I got there they gave me another doctor. I told them my appt was with Dr. Kading and they said oh its okay this doctor is good. I got up immediately and left. Unclear billing help, and switch doctors on you for insurance and billing - very questionable --too bad because Dr. Kading is good.

Horrendous experience from a customer service perspective. I ordered glasses for my 9month old baby; I was told 5-7 business days. Now nearly 1 month later, I still have not received them!!! Meanwhile my daughter's ability to develop proper depth perception during this critical window is delayed ... I am beyond frustrated with this experience. Although they have offered to refund our out-of-pocket expenses for the glasses, they do not understand our priority. It's not about the cost, it's about supporting our daughter's development! In addition, they did not provide a receipt nor information of my daughter's diagnosis or treatment. We had to call twice to receive this information. The ONLY saving grace is we received excellent care from Dr. Kristi Kading! She is amazing at working with infants and would be the sole reason we would every consider returning to this office.

I ordered a new pair of glasses from online and it didn't fit me very well so I called and scheduled a frame adjustment. Garlyn helped me with that and he is truly awesome! He adjusted the frame quickly to make it stay in the position and also advised me to use glasses keeper to keep it even more stable. Really enjoy the service!

The front desk staff is very good and friendly. The doctor over corrected my prescription which gave me problems, I had to go back to get it corrected, This was a hassle for me since I had to go back 2 times. Even with all these hassles I still believe they are good. I paid the invoice on the day of my appointment and since the front desk told me to do 2 day shipping, I did that too. I waited for 4 days before I called them but they have no idea about my order it seems. My hubby says they are very unprofessional and careless. I believe in goodness and kindness. Even after they messed up my order to contact lens I still believe they are good and hope don't give this kind of customer service to any other patient. I really wanted these contacts for my upcoming trip but now I think its too late due to their irresponsibility in getting the order wrong.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Kading for about 10 years now (wow) and cannot recommend him enough. I can always trust I am getting the best care especially since he’s always up on the latest research. He’s an eyeball nerd and it shows :) I’ve been a chronic dry eye patient for years and he’s done everything he can to help me mitigate the symptoms and reach some relief. I even moved out of state for a couple years and still came to see him when I was here visiting. All the doctors and the staff at Specialty Eyecare are top notch. Trust them with your eye health, you won’t regret it!

Dr Kristy is one of the top optometrist specializing in paediatric vision related issues and she has a wonderful team of Vision therapists who are kind, committed and passionate. I went to the office in Seattle on 4th Ave. The Dr. was nice and all but, I waited around for 18 minutes before being seen. I was told I needed a follow up visit and scheduled that one at the Kirkland office. I called to tell them I was running 5 minutes late (Traffic) and the reception told me I had to reschedule. I pushed back letting her know that I had waited 18 minutes on my last visit. Before I was done speaking to the receptionist, I was in the parking lot and told her so. She very rudely told me the Dr. does not accept people that arrive late. So, patients can wait for the Dr., but the doctor will not wait for a patient. I explained that the doctors need to accommodate their patients, not the other way around, just like Business' accommodate customer, not the other way, at least the ones that hope to retain their customers.

Terrible service bad experience with Deanna and specialty eye care. Promised I could pay for my glasses upon pickup. Called me 1 week later and insisted that I pay now before they could start my order. Told them I was told that I could pay upon pickup. She said uh I guess I made a mistake. I said so my glasses aren't even ordered yet? Response was no not until you pay first. I said nice of you to wait a week to call me on this. Will not do business with them again. Sorry not.

I had a procedure that was new to me and the technician did a wonderful job of making sure I was comfortable throughout it. More importantly was the care and concern they had for how my eyes felt throughout the procedure. All the staff at Speciality Eye Care are very professional and kind, I will definitely be back!

This clinic ( Dr. Young )has very bad customer service, and also they are repping off people with providing very poor explaination. 2 weeks ago we took our 5 years old son to this location after1 hour taking picture and cornia measurement doctor recommand to our 5 year old wear hard lense at night time. We thought there is specia lense for kids to wear beacause can not put lense in his eye. The second appontement they let us know the cost is 2500$ which we should pay, and sign the paper work. After second appontement we could not have our child wear these lenses he did they fall down it was painfull for him so dicide to take the back (these lenses were the test lens) when we call them to let them know lady call Susi at front desk was so rude and hang up the phone to my wife, and they refun 50% of our money. After reading some sources I find that out this percidure is recommanded for 8- 11 years old kids. I just shared my experice because no one else should soffer for there bad service.

I recently changed eye doctors because my other one was kinda far. I decided to give this clinic a try. I had a great experience at the Kirkland branch. The office is conveniently located for me with sufficient parking. The office is nice, open, and clean. The staff from the front desk to the techs are very friendly. Dr Henderson is amazing. She is friendly and easy to talk to. If your looking for a new eye care office, check this place out. They have two other locations if Kirkland is not convenient for you.

I was helped by a young man named Garlyn at the Kirkland office and he went out of his way to answer my questions, by figuring out some insurance coverage details and reporting back to me so I could decide how much I could buy and still save money. I was really pleased with the frames he helped me select, as I usually have to buy men's frames because I have a large head. I'm on a budget so he let me know which frames were the least expensive and directed me to them first. His personality was also very positive and cheerful. I had a great experience with Garlyn and Annabelle, the receptionist, was also very friendly. I would be willing to buy here again next year when my insurance is able to help cover another purchase.

Got up this morning with crazy vision in my left eye. I called around and was referred here. I phoned them at 11:00 am. They worked me in for a 3:00 PM appointment with Dr Andrew Fischer who was fantastic! Matchless front desk help and Dr Fischer was very thorough with a speedy detailed diagnosis, recommendations for referral, etc. GREAT experience and really appreciate them working me into their schedule on no notice.
