Made appointment and took day off work as a contractor turned up and girl said did you get my message. No because she called the wrong number they wanted cash as the eye doctor she booked me in for is new and couldn't take cards. Lost a days pay due to staff lack of service to client never returning again to them

All support staff were amazing, had a total of 3 visits and they were very helpful and caring each time. The Doctor however Dr Kalapesi has zero personable skills completely lacks empathy and care. Very blunt, asks a question and then rushes on before you’re even able to answer. Had to end up having an extremely painful eye procedure twice and since my issue is still persists am dealing with a noticeable deformity. Showed no care of that fact what so ever. Felt like the procedure was just a money grab. Won’t be going back.

I would like to extend my thanks to the staff at this surgery for their assistance & professionalism during my recent visits and most particularly to Dr James Chau-Vo who performed my cataract & multi focal lens surgery. Support staff were great. I felt Dr Kalapesi wanted me in and out as quick as she could. The whole process took approx 1 hour - even though I was allocated 3 hours. Maybe she had a bad day. Maybe I didn't articulate my issues properly. I'll be going to another specialist to have a proper discussion about persisting eye concerns that Dr Kalapesi didn't properly address. 3/5 stars.

In my very early 20s, I had grown two very sore and red pterygiums in both of my eyes. Dr Chau-Vo was recommended to me and after meeting him I knew I was in great hands! Both surgeries were done in a lovely clinic in Liverpool with some of the nicest nurses. The procedures were completed swiftly and I was surprised by the minimal pain I had post surgery. The recovery was easy and fast. Dr Chau-Vo was very professional and did a fantastic job! Its been a few years since the surgery and both of my eyes still look perfect! I highly recommend Dr Chau-Vo and his clinic to anyone with eye issues. My mum has since had two cataracts removed by Dr Chau-Vo and once again, only positive experiences to report! :D

Extremely well organised centre that ran like a smooth machine. Staff friendly, caring and professional. All areas that I accessed were clean with evidence of routine cleaning. Had my 2nd surgery at the during lockdown and I felt safe with the Covid provisions at all times. Absolutely no evidence of breaches. Highly recommend this centre.

I am being treated for my serious eye condition at South Western Eye care by Dr Freny Kalapesi. She is a very competent doctor, highly educated, and very very reliable. She takes her time to understand the problem and to discuss line of treatment. I have been under her care for over two years and extremely satisfied with the treatment and care. She is an excellent doctor. A very pleasant person, I highly recommend her. Support staff is always ready to help and very pleasant too.

The level of service from some support staff at this surgery is below standard. The support staff are friendly but lack when it comes to quality, proactive service. Questioning whether a patient would like to go ahead with surgery when they are losing their eyesight is absurd and offensive. Not returning calls or making an effort to make contact with a patient’s carer is unacceptable.

This is the review I posted for Dr Chau-vo. I don't know about other people's experiences, but my experience was outstanding, better than expected. Spectacular result after cataract surgery. I had a mono lens implant 4 years ago, which was a great result. This time I had an IC-8 lens implant, I can now operate in the real world without glasses. I can read menus, computer screens, handwriting and even typing this review without glasses. I just came from the surgery and I am wearing sun glasses doing this review. So happy.

The nurse was brilliant, she was very friendly and informative. Dr Saks was great, told me what my problem was and gave me the appropriate treatment that fixed my symptoms. Couldn't ask for more.
