REVIEWS OF Clarity Laser Eye IN Kirkland Lake

Very professional and friendly staff. Had cataract surgery done and my fears were alleviated by some exceptionally caring and extraordinarily sensitive nurses. So grateful to Dr. McGuire who used exceptional skill and expertise to perform with excellence. He is so professional . Check out his Biography. I applaud you all for your teamwork in delivering such a high quality service. Peace . Keep up the good work.

Amit Karda

My close friend had a pathetic experience with this place. No recommend at all.

Nadia Qureshi

I did my laser eye surgery last year April at Clarity eye. I had the best experience. The staff is super sweet. I was nervous but Dr. Baseer Khan explained everything step by step before the procedure, which was only 10 minutes. My vision is better than 20/20 now. Bye bye glasses & contacts. Life is great. I’m glad i did this ????

Marco Ibarra

Dr. Alizdeh-Ebadi is an arrogant person rushing patients with no information or a real and honest assessment. Just trying to impose procedures not even needed. Experience wasn't that bad until I got to this little arrogant man.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLINIC !!! ( I would have given ZERO star if I could ) I took a day off from work to attend this appointment. Upon arrival at the clinic, I was told bluntly that there is a 2-hour delay to see the doctor. All because the 'system is down'. Not even a 'sorry' from the reception desk. Instead he told me that I was given two choices : wait 2 hours or book another appointment. (Thank you so much for giving me a choice !!) I am easily reachable by phone. So it is a lie when he said he tried contact me about the delay. I DO NOT TRUST THIS CLINIC AT ALL. Tells you something when the front line people behave this way - this clinic doesn't care..

Jay Zee

I had a great experience at Clarity Eye. I couldn't get an appointment at other clinics for months, yet when I explained how urgent my case was, I got an appointment at this clinic within days. I was seen by Dr.Adam who was absolutely fantastic. The staff here are very courteous and helpful. I was in and out in just over an hour, which included a small operation. I would highly recommend Clarity Eye!

Overbooked, poor customer service. Wait times are ridiculous and the entire office in regards to patient organization is out of whack.

Russ Noble

I’ve had to come here twice now. I’ve arrived early both times and wait over an hour past my scheduled appointment time. If you want good treatment without excessive waiting I would go to an alternate clinic

Andrew Bogatyrov

I have done laser in this clinic recently. Everything was great. I have visited them for 4 times from April to Sep, no issues with waiting. You do have to wait a bit but it is ok as there are a lot people being served. I was always invited to start the examination process at my appointment time or even 5 -10 minutes earlier. My doc is Dr. Graham Belovay and I am very happy with him: attentive , explains everything, spends as much time as you need. I did see some people waited for a long time but my experience was great.

Craig Monk

Unacceptable, conveyor belt medicine. The government should investigate the overbooking and greed of this organization. Elderly frail people are held hostage for 2 plus hours so the doctors can maximize their profits. It's disgusting that people can be allowed to practice medicine in this way. Profit over patient care. It is tragic. If I could give lower than one star I would.

SMILE Surgery Do not know why it is reviewed so horribly... I had a great time. My appointments were quick and even when I missed one - they were able to squeeze me in. The operation was quick and flawless. Seeing without glasses is just amazing. Still shocking how good it is. Recommend that after you do the operation - you go home and take a nap after you have done your first drops. I woke up to being able to see very clear and just amazed.

Jonathan Yu

Very bad first impression. It seems they do not care about eyes and they only want your money.

Briony Wilson

No respect for appointment times. I’m desperate to find an alternative for my father who has to attend regularly. I have waited up to 3 hours for my father for a 40 minute procedure, tops! I think it is because they mostly deal with the elderly and eye problems due to aging that they are so disrespectful of time, I think the attitude is, who cares they’re retired! Today though was eye popping (excuse the pun) even by their poor standards. Arrived for a 2 pm appointment to find 18 to 20 people, some not wearing proper face coverings or socially distanced lining down the sidewalk outside the eye clinic in cold temperatures. My dad is 90 so I did not want him standing in a line so got out and went to find out what was going on. Chaos. No one was in charge, no one at the door to communicate anything. Finally after 5 to 10 minutes of asking what was happening a woman told me they were so over booked that the wait was over 2 hours to get into the building!! then, as I know from previous experience, up to 3 hours once inside. Something fishy going on with this lot. Is it greed that they are so woefully overbooked? Really, 5 hours for a 40 minute assessment and injection! And 2 hours of that standing in the cold outside at 90 years old. Fortunately it was not a life threatening situation for my father and we canceled and left in disgust. They should be out of business, but people are desperate. Anyone saying they have received prompt service was lucky, I have been going there for over a year with my father and it is nearly always over 2 hours. Drawing the line at 5 hours. Looking for an alternative from my father’s GP.

Good place to see an eye Doctor

Asma Qureshi

I had an amazing experience at Clarity Laser Eye. Dr. Khan did my SMILE laser eye surgery and completed it within 10 minutes! I am so thrilled I can finally SEE perfectly, after having to wear glasses my entire life. Thanks Clarity Eye for such a great experience, never thought this day would come!

I see the star ratings of this place is at 2+ stars, but I'd like to separate the experience to reception staff vs. Treating Doctors and Surgeons. I'm sure there are varying experiences with each specific doctor, and like most health care clinics, the reception and staff are in no way a reflection of the Doctors skill level and ability. I would say that the phone number here on Google is generally unanswered. So before coming, see if you can get a specific phone number to call through your family optometrist or referring doctor. Second, please take initiative of your own appointment, when arriving state who you are, who you are seeing, and for what procedure. I learned it's a HUGE clinic. So make sure you're in the right area. I do recommend bringing something to do, as health care cannot be rushed. I'd prefer to have my doctors spend time with me, as with any other patients. Bring a charger for your phone. My treatment here is for the new SMILE eye surgery and my treating surgeon was Dr. Baseer Khan. Professionally, he was very knowledgeable, listened to me, empathetic, didn't rush me, and reassured me of my treatment and treatment plan. He was very candid about the procedure as it's still relatively new to Canada. He explained that there was a learning curve on his part and to be patient. During the pre-op, he explained step by step my expected experience during the SMILE procedure. I've had glasses since I was in grade 2, and my distance for seeing was only 12 inches from my eyes, anything further was blurry. The procedure itself took less than 10 minutes to my relief. He checked my eyes within a few minutes of finishing. Next day I had a follow up appointment, and it was quick and concise. Then 1 week later I had another follow up. I followed the after care instructions to a T - and now I almost have 20/20 vision. Overall, I would highly recommend Dr. Khan in his ability to treat, and thankful that I had the opportunity to be his patient.

Farid

I am writing as I am waiting for more than 2 hours, their patient handling system is not right, I will never come here.

Steven R

They are a very busy office. But also very proficient.

Owen Harding

Seemed efficient to me. My appointment was 8:25 in the morning on a Tuesday, and I felt I was processed on time. One person took my eye photo, a few minutes later a different person called my name and did the eye check. Then waited for approx 10-15 min to see the doctor, where he reviewed the finding, answered my questions, asked me to come back in a month and sent me off with some bloodwork forms. Front desk was unable to make the follow-up appointment, and had to escalate to the manager. They were to call me back with the follow-up appointment time, and have not yet(at the end of the day of the appointment) Doctor did not advise me that some of the bloodwork tests are not covered under the provincial healthcare; not a big deal, but would have been nice. I did not have any procedure done, so i cannot comment on that. Mine was a referral from my optometrist after i had an eye incident.

Saeed Barbary

I have been recently visiting this location after an injury to my eye. The staff are great in their service. The wait times are normal, and i was specifically happy to have dealt with doctor Khan. Exceptional doctor and a great person overall.

Stephanie Randazzo

Amazing experience with Dr Sanghera doing SMILE procedure. Waking up with 20/20 vision is priceless.

Muneer Abid

Very poor customer support, I won't recommend anyone to go there. They are not professional at all and reschedule my appointment without consulting to me

Safeer Qureshi

Very professional and clean environment. Staff members are extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

Lee-Ann Parkes

I was sent to this clinic with my daughter. It was packed, we moved quickly through all the tests she needed done. Our wait time was 4 minutes. I believe they have worked out some of the scheduling issues.

Igor

This is "we don't care " style clinic. They can register you at you appointment time and then just forget about you until you remind. But that doesn't mean anything. You can end up waiting again. Doctors treat you like a dirt under their feet. Cyborg style persons. You don't exist. The only thing they feel when near you is thee smell of your money. That 1 star is there because you cannot post without it. My judgement - minus 5 stars

Elisa C

Iv been coming there for 2 years always very nice doctors so nice and caring thanks for taking care of my eyes ????

ehsan payman

Horrible place. If possible find a different eye clinic. Had an appointment for 2.40 and came 15 minutes prior to that because they told us to. Ended up waiting until 3.40 to see the doctor. I complained to the front desk numerous times and they simply did not care. They overbooked the doctor and told me that the doctor is behind. Person came after me and had a 3.00 appointment with the same doctor as me and got there before me. Everyone gets to go before me and the idiot at the front tells me that they're with different doctor when they clearly say which doctor they're with and what time when they sign in. Won't see me here again

Ish Kumar

Done excellent job for taking care of father, very professional team!

Felipe Gonçalves

I visited the clinic twice in the last month and had a very positive experience. The staff was friendly, quick responsive and followed the safety protocol in good manners. The clinic was clean and well organized - plenty seating space following social distance. I noticed Sanitizing stations spread around the clinic, tested two of them and were working well. Lab machinery is up-to-date as most of other equipments. I would recommend this place to a friend.

Stephanie C

No appreciation of anyone’s time. I don’t understand why they don’t schedule appropriately. They need to do better especially with care providers waiting outside and clients getting anxious. I don’t recommend this site in Vaughan. I work in a health clinic and this wait is deplorable and it would never happen where I work.

Le Thai Ly (Lelee)

This location is not accessible especially for people who rely on public transit and are vision impaired.

Chris

Had to have two spots biopsy. Dr, Jagan was very professional and explained the situation. Her assistance Kimmi was very professional and made you feel at ease. Will see you in a month for follow-up.

Adrian Murphy

Staff and doctors are great to deal with. But the wait times are truly excessive. They seem to be constantly overbooked and under-resourced.

Colan Nielsen

Jenn Ross (Alkas-Melina Sakura)

Wait time was nothing. Was referred here due to not having seen anyone for 15+ years about my eyes. Was made to feel like I was wasting the doctors time though I was informed I need glasses. But they don't do prescriptions there. My referring doctor sadly still thinks they do. The doctor himself was rude and arrogant. He made me feel like I was wasting his time the whole time I was in there. Was sent home while still unable to see thanks to the drops put in my eyes that completely blurred my vision. I do not recommend this clinic and suggest people save up the money and go else where. Took me 3 hours to get home because I couldn't see what buses I was taking.

I have been a patient at Clarity Eye Clinic since 2008. Yes sometimes the wait is long but you are advised of that on your appointment card. Dr Kahn first operated on my eyes for glaucoma and I have had follow ups to keep that condition in check. When another condition occurred It was handled quickly. They were quick to see me if I was in pain I could often get a same day appointment to handle whatever had happened. I have seen several of the Drs at this clinic and been happy with all my treatment. Dr. Kahn and Dr. Ebadi have taken very good care of my eyes and I would recommend them to anyone.

John Campanella

There is a problem contacting them, if you have to make an appointment. They do not return your calls and, as much as Doctors are professionals, the administrator(s) (if any) suck(s). They were much better when they were operating from Dufferin St. in Thornhill

Abdul Popalzay

I had a consultation here with Dr. McGuire and throughout the whole consultation I kept receiving smart-aleck responses from him. He gave me three options and when I asked him what he would advise, seeing as he is the professional, and instead I got a sarcastic response from him. Eventually, I decided to do the surgery right after the consultation and they proceeded with the numbing. To note, I've had surgery before in the past, and before ever beginning a surgery, I've always been asked if the area is numb yet or if I could feel anything with the procedure explained/broken down for me. However, Dr. McGuire didn't ask me at all if it was numb and instead began with the procedure right away after some time had passed. He did not explain the procedure to me either and when I questioned him on how long the procedure was, he again responded sarcastically with, "You're about to find out". The receptionists were kind and the gentlemen who conducted my visual test before I saw Dr. McGuire was also kind. However, I was really let down with Dr. McGuire's attitude. I get that he's not there to please everyone, but having the right attitude goes a long way.

AI was at emergency last night for double vision and they asked me go to see Dr.Graham Belovy next day immediately May 20,2019. I was there at 10:45am.Doctor didn't accept me because he is visiting last patrician. When I asked him that even I don't able To drive and my double vision get worth and worth he told me doesn't matter I don't care and I should be ther at 9:15. Because he was on call at that's time I told him it wasn't my appointment the hospital ask me to come today but he said U want to go home because I was on call since last night...I just want to share my experience with your guys for such as these doctors that they not care about their patrician

Anything 2016

The entire team is caring and professional. I've had multiple visits with zero issues. All I can say to all of them is thank you.

Stephen Parke

Absolutely no respect for time, we waited over an hour and a bit to see the doctor. Completely disrespectful and they don't care because we have no alternative!!!! My dad is 90 , If we waited much longer he wouldn't need his eyes. Brutal customer care and service, all about the billings and getting paid. Someone should be aware of this and put a stop to it!!!!!

Joseph Melanson

I can see like an Eagle and is worth the wait. The Doctors and Staff were excellent providing a safe clean environment. COVID has helped them with patient processing but can still do better. Bring an audio book or music.

Andre Antunes

Well if your bringing kids pack a lunch, we showed up at 9am and waited over 3.5 hours to see the doctor for approximately 4 minutes. They need to review their process on checking patients in. The doctor was very nice and friendly towards our son but I won't be going back. Way too long of a wait. Maybe see children and elderly patients first or gauge patients severity when checking them in.

Penny Rintoul

Go somewhere else if you value your time. Every time I visit, I wait for ages. Now I need to reschedule an appointment for tomorrow because of something that has come up with my work (I am a lawyer, so things happen), and I cannot reschedule the appointment - I have to call in every week to see if there is a cancellation! Ridiculous.

Anthony

Very nice experience at their Vaughan office for LASIK consult. Prompt, courteous, clear, and informative. Bright and clean. No long wait times. Plenty of parking and easy to get to.

Seleena Hillier

Distant and uncaring Doctors as well as poor communication with patients about the truth of their upcoming procedures and their eye problems. Should seriously consider looking into doctors with personable skills.

Ted T

Is this a Joke? After they received the requisition from my Doctor 2 x months ago and subsequently 10 x phone calls from me and my doctor's office they still don't have a day for my appointment and they refuse to provide one even if it would be for another year away..Very unprofessional and they really don't care! STAY AWAY!! Chose another facility or you may end up going blind waiting for them to reply...

I had a Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) procedure done by Dr. Khan from Clarity Eye Institute last March 2018. Best decision ever to go with Dr. Khan. I have been having issues with my eyes for wearing contact lens for the longest time. My optometrist practically banned me from wearing contact lens as it is already affecting my cornea and my eyes get infected easily. Then he mentioned about the procedure Refractive Lens Exchange that will possibly work for me. I asked around and met with Dr. Khan and he plainly told me that I am a good candidate. No salesreps and no sales tactics. He says it the way it is. I am so glad I made the right decision to choose Clarity. Clarity has the top of the line equipments. Dr. Khan did my both eyes at the same time all under 10mins. And life changed after 2days. Perfect vision - reading, immediate and distant. Glare is there but manageable. No more eyeglasses! I thought I will never see that day. Our health insurance (OHIP) should cover this procedure long before our lens gets the cataracts. It is more preventive than cosmetic really. There were wait times but all worth it. The calls are not picked up right away but they will return your call if you leave a message. I will sacrifice that inconvenience to see Dr. Khan anytime.

Grant Dickinson

It's a very busy place, but the staff are friendly and the doctors are knowledgeable. Despite the business, visits didn't seem rushed and they were thorough and polite. The office is fairly nice and the tech used is modern. Overall, a pleasant place.

Mavi Zahid

Friendly staff at front desk, Dr Khan was nice first visit so good experience.

Alex T

Well, they get the job done. Eventually. That's the keyword. If you've got your appointment scheduled at, say, 9 am - be prepared to wait some 40 minutes for a technician to take some basic measurements, and then another hour or so to be seen by the actual specialist with whom you've had the appointment. I also get a distinct impression that they'll do everything in their power to have your treatment spread across as many appointments as possible. Which, of course, is understandable, because they get paid for each individual visit, so that's a great business model... At the expense of the patients' time, of course. The support staff is polite and patient, I'll give them that. Can't say the same about the doctors though; the 2 I've dealt with project more of the 'we're done here, you can go now, and stop bugging me with your stupid questions' attitude. The facility is clean, with fancy design (at least by its designers' measure, supposedly), and well-equipped. Although in order to have some of the better equipment used on you you'll need to pay extra, as it is not covered by OHIP (don't ask; I'll never understand why using one type of machinery is covered while another - for achieving exactly the same purpose, but with better precision - is not; but that's a different pet peeve of mine, unrelated to specifically Clarity Eye).

I had the worst experience with this clinic yesterday. First, I have been diagnosed with extreme dry eyes, Meibomian Gland Dysfunction, already born blind in my left eye, this has been horrible for the past 3 years. My eye doctor in Barrie told me about a treatment to help with this disease called Lipi Flow , quoted 975.00 plus tax in Barrie office, out of pocket, not covered, no guarantees. So my family doctor sent a referral to Clarity eye in Vaughan in Sept . Saw the eye doctor , who was very nice, who did say that this treatment would help. So I was then to see, who I thought was another eye Doctor in there clinic, who told me it was 800 plus tax and booked me for DEC 2 nd. after a month of steroids and other prescription drops , over the past 3 months , nothing working, I was nervous but excited to finally maybe have some relief. Drove in not the best weather yesterday, took day off work, didn't sleep night before because I was so stressed about the treatment. So we get there, 1 hour wait, fill out some paper work and am sent to the lady down the hall for the treatment. She first says I need payment before we start , weird. So I pull out the money , cash, she says that's 1200 $ plus tax. I looked at her and said you told us 800.00 plus tax when we booked. She says that price was Sept price, its DEC , now 1200.00 . Really , I said to her . I would have had the treatment done in Sept then, you didn't, say that . It doesn't even make sense , since the treatment in Barrie is 975.00 . Hence why I booked with them. Anyways , after all that , we left, not to have the treatment done. Your telling me the price increased from 800.00 to 1200.00 in 3 months , and it slipped your mind to inform of the price change if I wait to book .On route home, booked to have done in Barrie now. I called today to find out the so called Doctors name who does the Lipi Flow, and I'm told she is not a Doctor. Asked her name , I get Laih , asked her last name, and was told they cant give it to me. They are not allowed. I said , so this so called technician, is allowed to quote me 800.00 for a treatment, then change that to 1200.00 , work on my eyes, but I'm not allowed to know her name. I am not happy at all. Very disappointed, in the customer service . As of now, there office has not called me about why I left , even though I made sure to let the front desk know to let the doctor know why I left. I am now waiting for a return call form the eye doctor that seen me, in that office , who referred me to have this treatment done , to let him know what is happening in his office. Wonder if I will get a return call. Laurie Sowman

Our first visit.. We arrived 1 hour early.. They welcomed us in even though we said we could come back. Very Friendly and Efficient.. Everyone there was pleasant to deal with. Treated my mom with kindness and respect. Thus far.. So happy we came here!

Mike Hinds

The staff is very professional, kind and they talk to you with respect, and in a way for you to understand about anything that you ask.

Dan S

Waited over three hours! Took my mom here, appointment was at 3:20, they tell you to expect a 90 minute wait ( already a ridiculous time) and I am still here waiting, it’s currently 6:25pm, never ever go to these incompetent muppets.

Robert Jordan

We had our optometrist book our daughter's appointment with this specialist. This Eye Institute's staff waited a week and half and called us the night before our appointment to cancel it and say they don't exam/treat children. Very unprofessional to keep a family waiting like that and now we have to find another specialist.

Gardiner Motors

Only because of Long waiting

Humam Bahoo

Colin Maier

Very poor customer service. I came for an appointment which was re-scheduled via the phone for 8:15 a.m. and they told me was for 8;50 a.m. ?! The automatic voicemail reminder received few days prior to appointment, cannot understand the spelling of numbers. Trying couple of times to call their phone number, you can hear an announcement saying that the number it is disconnected ...

.

Everyone except the actual doctors are monkeys and they don’t care about appointment times anyways. They also charge you if you come in late for your appointment but why charge for late appointments when you don’t get to even see the doctor until 2-3 hours later. Pathetic service.

Christine

The physicians are very competent and approachable. The techs are efficient and organised. I have nothing but praise for this location. The only caveat- book an early appointment. The place fills up fast.

Bob DiMarco

This clinic has extremely bad customer service. My Dr. moved from the Eyemd clinic in Brampton to this clinic. I had been a patient of his for 9 months seeing him a couple of times a month while we worked on clearing up an eye problem. Unfortunately, I tried for close to 3 weeks to contact his new office for an appt. My calls continually go to voice mail and no one returns the call. In order to get the ongoing treatment I require I have had to change doctors. The Eyemd clinic had no problem booking me an appt with the new doctor. Seems my eyes are not important to the Clarity Eye Institute.

Stephen Sheahan

Rude staff, glacial wait times. Never answer the phone

Bharoo Bharoo

Ronald Heffler

STAY AWAY FROM THAT CLINIC! They have no respect to the patients time at all! As previous reviewer mentioned, it is money making conveyor belt in healthcare that overcharge OHIP, and at the end of the day, we as taxpayers pay for that. They will book an appointment two hours before the doctor be able to see you. The hallways are full of patients that are waiting. The test with the technician takes 10 minutes max, the rest is just waiting time and the only purpose of that is not to STOP the money making conveyor belt. Someone with legal authority should look into that outrage!

Ilan Dobsky

We waited about 25 min to have the first nurse to see us which was ok. The whole appointment took over 3.5 hours for a check that could have been done in less then 10 minutes. Very aggrevating this office overbooks work. The doc runs around from patient to patient and gives you little to no detail of your course of treatment.

Adam Neo

Don't believe the haters! Clean clinic, friendly and courteous staff and great doctors. I was seen by Dr McGuire who underneath his tough facade is a caring beautiful human being and an excellent surgeon; just check his bio! Thank you so much Dr McGuire for your excellent care. God bless you.

Katrina Teubert

I was referred by the hospital to this place and was told that I should get a call the next day as my condition is an emergency. I called two 2 times in the morning to find out what time is my appointment. I got a call in the afternoon at 2:30 but missed it. Heard the voicemail and was told I have to answer few questions and I need to send a picture. Sent the picture and called the office to confirm they got it and was told no and got the correct email address. So resent it, and got confirmation that I got it. I was not transferred to the appointment booking person. The appointment booking person called me at 3:30 to confirm that the picture of my eye is on my file, asked the questions and told me that she cant book me an appointment today as they are already closing and I didnt call her on her extension #. On her voicemail, it was not stressed to call her back on her extension and she said I called the contact centre. Should the contact centre now to transfer me to her? I kept saying hello when I am trying to book the next day appointment and she hanged up on me. I called back and asked to be transfered to her extension and was told I cant talk to her and she booked my appointment. What an inconvenience and disregard for an emergency from this place.

Akhilesh Sawant

Don’t ever go here

Stefanie L

Been waiting over 6 months for my mom's cataract surgery. Have called more than a few times, can't ever get a live person who answers. Left a message no response. My mom has been on a waitlist and only want an update. Paid her $350 for her fitting and never heard anything after. Been considering paying elsewhere, as we are in urgent need, my mom can't see and had fallen and broken her arm. Seniors are clearly not in a priority.

Robert L

I found the wait time was not bad considering how busy it was. The staff was polite and friendly. However Dr. Alizadeh-Ebadi was curt and condescending right from the start. From the moment he entered the room he treated me more like I was an unwanted intrusion into his day rather than a patient who had waited a month to see him. Due to a medical condition I need regular eye exams, This Doctor will not get my business.

Ali Milani

I had an appointment with the clinic in Vaughan location last week. The price quote that the doctor gave me was much different than their business office by overall $2000. It seems like they are not consistent with their fees. The lady from the business office was not friendly and helpful and she could not convinced me with a valid reason for this huge price quote discrepancy. I will never go back there again.

Joanna Cheng

I had a surgery there and they suppose to give me the sample to do the biopsy. They forgot. I tried very hard contacting them couple of times, asked the doctor to call me back. No one cares about me.

ConejoLoco

Showed up today for my dads appointment he was schedule for 1pm we arrived at 12:20pm. This place was full it seemed they over booked he had 2 pre checks after around 40mins of waiting.. 2 hours later l decide to ask the lady at the front desk how much longer they told me there's still 2 people.. l questioned why as everyone before we arrived has been seen? She starts to tell me the appointment was at 1pm it doesn't matter thay we came early... The funny thing of all this is that, when l was questioning her she was getting tongue tied like she was confused she couldnt explain her self... Very Unprofessional!!! As another employee tired to come to her assist her response to the long wait was Oh! He is a really good doctor!!..If that is the case why does this establishment have a very bad rating....And to top it off when the room was finally empty a lady from the back of the office came to us an politely asked have we been seen...In my opinion she was the only one that was Professional!!! It seems they where at a smaller location which was doing well, but since they moved to a much larger location They have to over book to cover the costs!! Which would explain very long wait times!!

Ursula Hamann

Yes you may have to wait but that's the small price to pay for exceptionally amazing Drs. And a very friendly and caring staff.

V Su

The place is massive and the wait can be over an hour. Then once your wait is over, the doctor is in and out in less than 5 minutes. Zero respect for our time. Try to find an practice where it's not just about overbooking patients and charging OHIP.

Kristina Tsabadze

Before visiting the clinic I was concerned because of plenty of negative comments. However, I had a good experience at the clinic. Reasonable waiting time, nice place, friendly staff. They call with anticipation to remind about next appointments.

My husband recently visited Clarity eye clinic for pre and post cataract surgery. I found the staff to be very professional, caring and very willing to assist with making and switching appointments, providing necessary information etc. The wait times were reasonable. I attended another eye clinic several months back and had to wait 4 1/2 hrs. NOT at Clarity - I will find myself going there when in need next time!!! Job well done Clarity - very pleased with ALL the staff!!!

Sandra Mortley

Great service, friendly staff and compassionate .doctors

Usman Khan

This the worst I have seen in Canada. They are not managed and overbooked may be. The staff is not trained and polite. I came here because of a referral and would try not to do the same thing next time. I got my turn after one hour wait and telling them twice that it is my turn. I'm not feeling good about this because for me the first expression is important.

D Sa

My mother was seen at the clinic by Dr. King Chow who provided her with exceptional care. He was very professional, knowledgeable and caring. Friendly and professional staff. Surgery and follow ups appointments were booked in a timely manner.

2 hours waiting and I have appointment

It is amazing how some people take the time to complain, but the same people would not even think of taking the same time to give praise where praise is due. I have been going to the Clarity Eye Institute for the last five years. Yes, they are busy, but then again a successful business is expected to be busy. My experience with eye clinics over the past 50 or so years is that there is a definite wait time and I have learned to plan for it, that simple. I have always found this clinic to be an efficient, well-oiled machine. The staff are kind, and my Ophthalmologist is always re-assuring and never seems to be in a rush to get me out. I called them this morning as I was very concerned about a change in my eye, so they did their best and fit me into the schedule very quickly. Well done.

Dennis Jor

Dr B. Khan is excellent. He did my cataract surgery last March. I had high short-sightedness since my childhood. I am so glad to be able to see almost perfect distant object now.

Anna Ador-Dionisio

As an optometrist I often refer patients to Clarity Eye Institute. They have an array of ophthalmologists all with different specialties and Ias a result the wait times for appointments are very reasonable. Recently I was referred to clarity as a patient for my own eye issue. As with all specialists, I was expecting a long wait time however I found the entire visit to be surprisingly quick. When I walked in the door I was checked in immediately. I was soon called in for pre-testing and the technician was very pleasant. Although I was escorted to different rooms for specific pretesting and I sat in several waiting rooms while my eyes dilated, I found the entire process to be very efficient. The clinic was clean and each technician was careful to sanitize the equipment each time before use. Dr. Dorrepaal was professional and had great bedside manner. Overall my experience was fantasyic at Clairty Eye and I have complete confidence that my own patients are receiving the best of care .

I have had many issues in relation to the health of my eyes over many years. Having been to several other clinics both in Canada and US I have found Clarity Eye to be an excellent choice for my care. Dr. Khan has been professional and informative as to my clinical issues and I appreciate his direct approach. I have found the staff to be both efficient and pleasant.

Told to come for an 1120am appointment and left after 2.5 hours It's an assembly line with many people waiting No Wi-Fi at all

Mahbobeh Kahyazi

Seems he is a fake doctor. Its a shame. once i got to his clinc i waited about 2 hours and he examined my eyes only about 5 mintues. I had serious problem with my left eye that getting smaller and dark vision but he could not notice and he couldnot find out and he said u are ok he just wasted my time about 2 hours and hurt my eyes by droping toxic drop eye tester to my eyes.

Had appointment with their retinopathist for 9.30 am still not seen by dr at 11,30 am. I can't speak about most of their other dr.. This is disgusting to wait over an hour after scheduled time. Will not ever go back to see him again. I was requested by another opthamologist (2nd opinion) for a copy of my medical from ophthalmologists the receptionist was upset at the request providing it n said she can ONLY give 6 months of reports. I was finally seen by the retinopathist to book an appt with one of the other specialists. Again receptionist said he is fully booked n phone n book an appointment. This is completely contrary to any treatment i have ever been subjected to by this clinic

Angela Ramos

Get ready to wait over 3 hrs to see a technician to only have to wait another hour to see the dr.

Greg Neal

Clarity Eye in Vaughan, and specifically Dr. Baseer Khan did an incredible job diagnosing and treating an eye issue I was experiencing. The office is busy for all the right reasons - they are the best of the best.

I waited over 2 hours to be seen. Absolutely disgusting. Just plain greedy!

I had my lasik done here back around March and had my surgery done by Dr. Baseer Khan. He did a FANTASTIC job and I am so happy with the results!!! My vision was terrible before and I had high astigmatism. Now I never need to wear glasses. The surgery was quick and they made the process as seamless as possible. Everyone at Clarity went above and beyond for us, especially Shamil. We made our travels from NY and they truly went out of their way to help us and to ensure we were satisfied with the results. I couldn't be happier with the way the surgery went and the service I received.

BigGut Gaming

They were great! Got metal stuck in my eye from work. They froze my eye, retrieved the metal with no pain. Nice and quick. Very friendly staff.

Winston Mei

Horrible scheduling. we had an appt at 1 pm but still at waiting room at 3 pm. they just care of their time and $$ , not yours

Steve A

If there was a zero star, I would select it. Total disrespect to people, especially the elderly, which the office waiting area was full of. I waited 3 hours for a 5 min visit.

Kathie Valcourt

Excellent service by ALL staff, busy business, everyone has their duties and they all perform them in perfect harmony. Thank you Dr. Sanghera!!

I went to the Ajax office. Expect to wait but as you are waiting they move you through different stages so It doesn’t seem that long. The receptionist is amazing; intake, phone calls and booking appointments. The other staff are also amazing. Once you get to see doctor Gupta, he is very professional and gets straight to the point. Don’t know how he stays up beat with such a busy office. Had minor laser under five minutes and did not have to schedule it. Great experience!

Ramesh Lekhwani

I had my cataract surgery on my right eye on Feb 10. It was scheduled with Dr Khan but I didn’t get to see him through the entire process. After the surgery, I was scheduled for a postoperative visit with Dr Singh on Feb 11. I arranged a ride from Milton to Vaughan with my friend. At the office I was seen by Dr Singh’s assistant and she looked into my eye and told me everything looks fine. I was under the impression that she was helping Dr Singh and would report her findings to him and he would eventually have a look in the eye as well and I wanted to discuss a few things with him. But to my surprise, the assistant came back and said I am good to go. Dr Singh did not bother to see his patient at all. I am not sure if it is even legal to delegate physician’s duty to an assistant. And even if it is legal, it is mind boggling that a physician would be derelict in his duty to rely on the assistant's findings and refuse to see his patients himself. Patients in Ontario deserve better from the physicians.

So blessed that Dr. Qureshi is my eye doctor and Dr. Khan performed my Relex Smile lasik surgery. Two very honest and knowledgeable doctors. From day 1, I was told if I’m not a good candidate, they will not suggest getting Laser eye surgery. They have integrity and that’s key! Dr. Khan is so incredibly busy so I understand his straight forward and no non-sense approach when it comes to your vision. Dr. Khan was super kind and cool during the day of my surgery and ensured I was in the best hands, literally. The entire team (both Doctors, Shamil the coordinator, Laleh) made my experience wonderful. Very accommodating and follow-up to ensure you’re recovering well. Thank you clarity laser eye team!

One of the worst clinics I have ever seen. admin Staff are very rude and unprofessional. They will treat you with disrespect. Avoid them if you can. If you can't avoid them, then make sure you know your rights otherwise they will walk allover you.

John Franco

Getting SMILE laser eye surgery was an easy decision to make with the incredible team at Clarity Laser Eye Institute. From the initial consultation up until my last encounter, I felt i was well taken care of. Its been a couple weeks now and I can honestly say that this surgery has changed my life for the better. (Apparently I have better than 20/20 vision now!) No more fiddling around with contact lenses and eye glasses. THANK GOODNESS. Dr. Khan was the ophthalmologist who performed my surgery. I admit that I was little nervous going in it but Dr. Khans calming presence quickly put me at ease as he guided me through every step of the procedure. I feel a special mention should go out to Shamil. You are likely to meet him as he is the refractive surgery co-ordinator. Along with his excellent attitude and knowledge in answering questions, I found him to be friendly, respectful and down to earth. Well done sir. Overall: I would highly recommend this to my friends and family. You won't be disappointed. Cheers.

I had an eye injury and was sent from Emergency. Was told that it can take 1.5-2 hours. I though that they might put drops in my eyes, therefore there will be a long wait. That was not the case. They packed everyone at the same time (COVID restrictions and all) so if anyone might be late the doctor does not lose time and money. After 1/2 hours no doctor in site, he was speaking loudly at the back on personal matters. When I asked the front desk where is the doctor I could see their panic, and claimed technical difficulties. In 5 minutes the doctor showed up and asked me to interrupt my treatment, he was expediting me being the 'trouble maker'. Due to the interruption of treatment my injury re-opened in 3 weeks. In the future I will avoid the doctor if not the clinic...

Sarah

Waited over an hour to get tested. Plus there is no direct phone line. The people were nice but it could be organized better.

Rosen Andonov

This place overbooks people outrageous. If I can give -5 stars I would. Every time i have an appointment we wait minimum 2 hrs to see a doctor.

Dr. Sukh Dhami

My experience with Clarity Laser Eye was wonderful! I had the ReLEx SMILE procedure done a couple weeks ago, and couldn't be happier with the experience and the results. At the initial consultation, I was happily greeted by the staff. After some pre-testing, Dr. Baseer Khan examined my eyes and confirmed that I was a candidate for the SMILE procedure. The entire process was explained well, and I was a given a package with more details regarding the SMILE procedure, as well as things to expect such as dosage of the medications after the procedure. On the surgery date, I was taken in very timely, and I was prepped for the SMILE procedure. During the procedure, Dr. Khan walked me through the entire process and explained each step thoroughly. Each eye took no more than 5 minutes, so the overall procedure was quick. I also did not feel anything during the procedure. Upon finishing the procedure, my vision was slightly hazy, and a staff member helped guide me back the waiting area. Dr. Khan took one more look at my eyes and I was good to go home. Vision on the first day was hazy, but that quickly improved over the next 24 hours. At my 1 day post surgery appointment, I was seen by Dr. Qureshi, and my eyes were healing well, and my vision was great. I am continually being followed by Dr. Singh for the remaining post surgery appointments (followed closely over the next year) and my vision continues to improve with each appointment. Overall, my experience at Clarity Laser Eye was remarkable, and I would highly recommend their services to anyone interested!!! I know that I will definitely be recommending their services to my patients!

Joe Marano

Horrible.. they clearly overbook appointments Don't ever come here .....3.5 hours and still waiting.. Places like this shouldn't receive our money from Ohip... please check out this scam.

Layal Gedeon

Had a great first experience. My appointment was at 10am on a Wednesday and they saw me promptly. I was transferred to three stations for different checks as well as saw the doctor all within 30 mins. I was out of there by 10:30.

Leah Khodak

Dr. Andre Ali Ridha is my doctor. Extremely thorough and detail oriented. Excellent ophthalmologist

Pupinder Ghatorae

My experience at Clarity Laser Eye was amazing! Firstly, my consultation was booked within a week!. At my consultation, I was greeted by the front staff who took my medical history and immediately transferred me to the pretesting room where the technicians took my measurements and prepped me for the doctor. Once the testing was done, Dr. Sanghera examined my eyes and thoroughly explained the results including which procedures I would be a great candidate for. He explained in great detail each procedure as well as what to expect post-surgery and the recovery period. Once we came to a conclusion as to which surgery to proceed with, we booked my procedure for the following week and I was given a package providing further details about the surgery and follow up care. The day of my procedure, similar to my first encounter, went very smoothly. I was prepped by the technicians as we went through the procedure once again including the post-operative care and follow ups. The procedure was quick and painless. Dr. Khan explained every step he performed and helped ease my mind through the whole procedure. He followed up with me prior to my departure to ensure everything was okay. I was also introduced to Dr. Qureshi who was going to see me for my 1 day post op appointment the following day. I was so happy with how I was treated and how I was transitioned between the different doctors who were responsible for different steps of the process. My vision is incredible, and this experience has been life changing! I had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Sanghera, Dr. Khan and Dr. Qureshi throughout my time at Clarity Laser Eye and I appreciated all their hard work through this process. The staff was also amazing and they played a crucial role leading up to and after my surgery! Everyone is very skilled in their areas of expertise and I wouldn’t hesitate to refer my patients and my family to Clarity Laser Eye! Thank you for everything!

They wasted an hour of my time plus 40 minute drive there and back (mother). I'm visually impaired so it's not easy to get to Vaughn but they don't really care. After an hour of waiting there finally the doctor met me and she gave me a long speech and then told me that it wasn't covered by Insurance even though when she made the appointment she assumed it would have been covered.dr wirekoon January 27 11:55.

As a healthcare professional, I am disheartened to see specialists providing profit-over-patient care. Overbooking and money-making schemes need to stop. No one should be waiting Hosptial/ER wait-times at a specialist. Unfortunately, we have too much of this in Canada. Don’t know if it’s greed, or lack of staff (possibly both). Could’ve sworn I saw one of the staff/nurses dispose the sharps (biohazard) container incorrectly. Two words: Chaotic energy. My mother’s appointment time was at 3:45 and we were waiting till almost 6:00 (clinic had closed) watching staff rush and clean up. Very inappropriate and unprofessional. I work 12 hour shifts at the hospital, and still manage to not rush home or rush the care I provide. Do better. Will not be returning for a follow-up or future procedures with Clarity Eye. Good note: the doctor was patient and professional.

Moiz Qureshi

Very professional and easy going. Open and clean clinic!

Stephanie Singarayer

I am very disappointed in the treatment given to my father. Since my parents didn't understand the situation, I repeatedly tried to contact the doctors involved, I along with my parents were disregarded. Honestly my father has been trying to recover for a simple cataract surgery for over a month. I would advice future patients to look into other resources. From my experience the doctors clearly do not care. They go as far as laughing at the situation; when a patient is clearly in pain. I am beyond disappointed by this experience.

This was my first time visiting the clinic. I had an appointment and within 30 minutes of my scheduled appointment, I had seen the nurse and doctor. It would seem that they are working hard to improve their reputation. .

I diagnosed for high eyes pressure by an optometrist and refereed to this institute, I had an emergency and I had to take a flight but flight was very dangerous for my situation, I called them asking to reschedule my appointment and they did to another branch.

Worst care I have ever recieved...they are unprofessional...I wouldnt trust them with my dolls eyes...if I could give them negative stars I would

Liz McNaught

I plan to never come back here after today. Dr Adam is nice but the wait here is ridiculous. Obviously they overbook as I arrived 10min early for my appointment as usual and wait for almost an hour watching him see approximately 7 people before me. With how many eye doctors are in this area it's not worth the wait and disorganization at this office. Go elsewhere...

J Mart

I have been traveling from Whitby to Clairty Vaughan for over a 1.5 months. I have been under the care of Dr. Alizdeh-Ebadi for my left eye. Dr Ebadi is a straight forward, no BS doctor that does not sugar coat his assessment .. he gives direct/strict instructions on improving your situation. Thanks Dr E for saving my left eye. The staff was not only professional, efficient and friendly but also very supportive. Thanks again to Dr Ebadi and staff many blessings to you all.

Vic Skot

Have been waiting almost 2 hours for a scheduled eye appointment. Just another example of no regard for the customer's time. No real understanding of how important servicing customers is.Because the customer does not have to pay the Customer is secondary. If I ran my business like this one, I would be out of business.

Charlie Wallis

The ONLY reason to go here is to see Dr. Malam, who is VERY understanding and considerate.

Joel G

Doctors are great, but the scheduling and wait times are horrible. You think they’d let you know they’re running late. Waited over an hour and a half to see my doctor...unacceptable.

Erika Buhlman

We had a fantastic experience today with Dr. B. Khan at Clarity Eye Institute, Vaughan. My 97 year old Mom, traveling 3 hours to clinic, was seen promptly. I waited in car in parking lot and waited for the hour for testing as stated after which, I was paged by pager clinic had provided to come into clinic to hear consultation . Laser as needed was done then immediately on site. The entire visit was 2 1/2 hours long which allowed for the 3 hour return trip.

Rick Brown

Gong show. Zero respect for anyone’s time. 3 hours behind schedule. Get a referral to a different clinic.

Lynn Jones

Very frustrating. It actually started at Walmart Vision Center. The Optometrist there, Dr. Salumat, said I had narrow angles and needed to see an opthamologist. Wanted me to travel from Barrie to Alliston. Tried to tell me there was no specialists here in Barrie. I was told by this dr that the dr. there could check and do the laser treatment all in one go. Went to alliston. Arrived for my appointment early and waited almost 2 hours to be seen. I get called in by the Opthamologist, a Dr. Khan. Dr. Khan was not very caring. Likely as he was overbooked and far behind and just wanted to get me seen to and out. He comes at me with drops and I stopped him as I had to drive home and wanted to be sure it would not be a hindrance. He then tells me it's anesthetic drops and I will be able to drive fine. I had to sit in the parking lot about 1/2 hour before I felt ok to drive home. He didn't do the procedure as dr. S had given me wrong info. He told me after spending 3 min. on looking at my eyes, that his office in Vaughn would call to book an appointment. That was Oct. 5th. Now December 11 and have not had appointment booked. I call several times get automated hold then kicked to voicemail. I then called walmart back and complained. They called and got me an appointment for Jan. They say you need a driver and sunglasses. Again not the info I received from dr. S in the beginning.. I can't make it for this appointment on a monday I need friday so back I go to calling clarity. I was on hold for 20minutes and the voicemail was full so just kept getting kicked back to hold. Betting the mail box is full as they don't check or return calls. I then read the reviews, considered how I felt about dr. Khan and called walmart . I also did research and found out there are specialists here that do this procedure. I asked to be booked with one of them. The tech got fustrated over my complaints about dr. s and clarity and dr. Khan and told me it would be at least a year wait. I said I don't care I don't wish to go to clarity eye. The Dr. Salumat comes on and was very short but agreed to refer me to a dr. locally. So not only will I never attempt to go to Dr. Khan or Clarity Eye .....I will also not be returning to walmart vision center.

Gabriela Legg

I had a great experience at Vaughan location. Very clean and they take extra precautions due to Covid. I have asthma and its very hard for me to breathe with the mask. The staff was friendly, understanding, helpful and accommodating, allowing me to sit in a room by myself instead of in the waiting room. Dr. McGuire was helpful and gave me all the information I needed to make an informed decision. After numerous tests and the consultation, I was in and out of there in less than 1 1/2 hours . Highly recommend this clinic .

Peace Earth

I have been to this clinic several times. The wait time to see the technicians are quite ok. However, when you need to see the doctor, the wait times are terrible. As far as I can remember, I was there to see the doctors no more than four times. I had to wait close to three hours on two of the occasions. I am very busy at work and do not have the whole day to sit there and wait. They need to factor in the time slot required for each of the patients required in order to reduce queue time. The waiting room is close to capacity a lot of times and I do not know if this is by intention or by accident. A lot of these patients are seniors and having them wait for two hours in a chair is unreasonable as far as I am concerned. I have no intention to build a case history with this business as I do not want to be in the position that I have to wait there for two hours for each appointment as I get older. I will never return to this business if I can help it and one star for their service in consideration of the efficiency of the technicians.

Jimmy Greenfield

I was worried that my appointments I had would take all day, but the team and Dr. Kahn were incredibly efficient and professional.

turner creek

This is the clinic to go to. Your vision issues will be dealt with a quiet professionalism that is refreshing. The intake proceedures with Shirlon and his associates, as usual, were great. Dr. McGuire quietly goes out of his way to be sure your treatment and outcome is excellent. What more as a patient could you wish for?

Angel A

Happy with Dr. King Chown. He wasnt in rush visiting me and answered all my questions. I was surprised that they were very quick and didnt have to wait at all. Have to mention that my appointment was at 9:40 and I was there at 9:10 ! Didnt wait at all, they called me before I even sign the consent.

Elizabeth DeSousa

My mother had an appointment here today at 3pm...it is 5:05pm and she hasn't been seen by the doctor yet! Apparently, they had some more complicated situations today...these situations must happen routinely, because her first visit, we waited similarly. No respect for other's time. Front desk staff, no welcoming or friendly at all. If I didn't have to come back, I wouldn't.

Tahir Ansari

Worst experience of my life , zero professionalism, zero respect for anyone’s time . 3 hour wait period every time I visited. Never again , a ducking zoooo

MsLeafs13

Warning, don't risk your eye health with this place. Graham Belovay totally over looked neuropathy despite telling him of diabetes condition. He did not do the necessary and standard eye exam and test needed to be done regularly as this is a common issue with this condition. Can't be trusted. Nor are they interested in informing patient about their options with cataracts. Patients want information about what is involved, the doctor directs you to the 'saleslady" the lady tells me to talk to the doctor, Totally incompetent. Had to cancel all appointments, after waiting for this Belovay guy for 6 months, and start all over with another specialist and clinic.

karim naser

After working as a health care professional for 30+ years, I believe I'm qualified to judge what is and what isn't acceptable health care. This was the worst example of substandard care that I've ever experienced or witnessed. From start to finish the care was dreadful. Staff were rushed, no one introduced themselves or explained procedures, no health teaching was offered and inadequate follow-up instructions were given. I was left on the table after having eye surgery with no one checking on me - in fact, the physician was seen leaving the building. Of prime concern are safety issues...I was told by the physician that I could drive immediately post-op. Luckily I had a driver with me, as I left with a patch, feeling shaky and in much discomfort. Fortunately my own eye doctor was available and I went directly to her office where I received the expected professional advice that was blatantly lacking at Clarity. This eye institute is nothing more than a money-making assembly line and it desperately needs to reassess its standard of care. Pets receive more humane treatment at the vet. Stay away if you value your vision. Star rating of zero.

Alfred A-Y

I have follow-up appointments with Dr. Wirekoon. She is arrogant and very impatient to answer questions.

TH Brown

Uncaring and waste of time. Went here after a long drive and waited for an hour to see Dr Khan. He came in the room in a rushed manner and spoke to me for less than 5mins. Just took a quick look. Relied on what I told him rather than forming his own judgement, had virtually nothing to add as to what could be the underlying reasons for my condition or provide any solution. Terrible attitude and lack of any attention to the patient. The GP that I saw earlier was more helpful and knowledgeable than him. Dont know why people would bother to go to this place. Avoid if you can.

Joan Zhang

Nobody pick up the phone and return the message. My husband want to change the date of his appointment .we call three days and leave the message.

tiziana tolfo

Dr. Tong is wonderful but holy Hannah !! The wait is ridiculous! Patients are booked in 5 minute intervals. Why why why ??? I left after waiting for 2 hours. The area where you have to wait the longest has no tv, no magazines. Literally sat there for an hour and a half staring at some odd looking flower painting on the wall. The only other thing to look at was the wall the picture was hanging on !! Consider a couple of tvs to make the waiting a little less painful !!

Mukesh Jakher

Amanda L

Every review on here is accurate! I am sitting in the waiting room 2hrs after my scheduled appointment time, have not yet seen a Dr. and my mother is sitting in the car waiting “in case” I need drops. I booked an early AM apt thinking that they could not possibly be behind to start the day... fooled me! Hoping the Dr. Is good!
