Let me start by saying Dr. Melo was great. However, everything else about my recent experience was absolutely terrible. The low point of the whole ordeal was getting into an argument during one of the tests that I was moving too much, but the only reason I couldn't hold my head still was the equipment was pushing against my nose and moving me out of position. The tech had no idea what to do. I will never, ever go back to this location. If Dr. Melo moves somewhere else, I would probably go there.

Dr Zimmer is excellent. Staff always friendly and welcoming. If I may point to an "opportunity", the availability of Ray-Ban products is a concern. I am brand loyal to Ray-Ban, have been all my life since I bought my first pair of Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer sunglasses in 1978. I don't want to be aggressively "upsold" or "downsold" to a brand that happens to be in stock, I want Ray-Ban. Sadly after having my eyes tested at Henderson Vision Centre, I had to purchase my classes elsewhere. That is two pairs of progressive lenses as I have progressives in my sunglasses too.

Not the best experience, unfortunately. Found out I was given contacts that are for 40+ clients? That have a bunch of little rings in them to help my eye focus and it’s been an issue since the day I switched from the ones I was getting at lens crafters - yet I was never explained to about the rings? I have never needed help adjusting or focusing my eyes..Just asked if I wouldn’t mind to switch over since they didn’t carry the kind I was currently using...so glad I found somewhere else..

I was in the office on Friday, waiting for a receptionist, when the family who I assume wrote the review about mask exemptions was there. The receptionist who spoke with this family was very polite - explaining that the younger children needed masks due to regulations and offering to get them masks (multiple times - right up to when the majority of the family left). I assume that if the children had been identified as mask-exempt that the receptionist would have stopped offering masks. This seems to be an unfortunate case of poor communication. In my experience, the staff at Henderson Vision have always been friendly and professional.

The exam was fine, but I was told I would get my pupilary distance listed on my prescription. That was not the case when I looked at my prescription. I was then told it was a $25 extra for this basic information. Very off putting, as was the pushy sales people trying to get me to purchase extremely expensive glasses. I'm not planning to go back. Lots of other places to get exams.

I always enjoyed the service there. The testers and Dr are fabulous. I was frustrated they called me by the name I have corrected in the past, and told me I gave them the wrong address ( I did not ). None of my information has ever been anything different. Then when I wanted to look at glasses I couldn't, but we could all huddle by the doorway? There "safety" measures were backwards. Separated me from my children and reused pens, chairs etc. I know they all looked at me as if I was an alien. Not sure about buying glasses from there.

My husband and I have gone here for almost 20 years and have not one bad thing to say. The staff have all been courteous, knowledgeable and respectful to all our needs. My husband, especially, has had many eye issues over the years. Several staff members continuously go over and above the call of duty, so to speak, to ensure we understand everything, and that we are happy with our eye wear and feel comfortable. We would never consider going anywhere else, as we are treated like family members. And no, we do not have actual family that work there. They're quite simply just awesome!! ????

This morning I phoned Henderson Vision Centre (HVC), for help because I have a piece of my contact lense stuck in my eye. It’s very irritating. I thought that they could help me, and perhaps regain an old-time client. Instead, their rude receptioninst blantaly told me to call the place where I purchased my contacts. The place where I puchchased them has terrible hours and they’re not open. I will neither be returning to Henderson Vision Centre, nor where I purchased the lenses. Now I’m in a medical crisis and Henderson Vision Centre isn’t interested in helping me. Buyer beware: HVC is expensive and provides subpar service. I originally left HVC because their doctors have big egos. Im not surprised by all of their one-star reviews. I work in a dental office, where we always take in emergency patients. I know how important is it to maintain good relationships with clients. HVS is simply not initiating good practices by not taking in emergencies.

The pretests prior to the eye exam were administered professionally and the procedures were explained fully. Optical department is professional and well stocked with a wide selection of frames. Staff is excellent here as well and they go the extra mile to ensure you are satisfied. Personally, I would never go anywhere else.

My 79 year old mother recently underwent cataract surgery and went to Vision Centre due to the change in her glasses prescription. They changed the lenses in her original frames - the replacement FELL OUT THE VERY NEXT DAY. Vision centre failed to replace the lens and said they are not responsible. Very poor customer service. Even poorer workmanship.

Henderson Vision Centre was our place when we lived close. We moved south and can see the U of M from our house. We tried a few local vision places in the area and now I have a few pairs of glasses I can’t use and am out hundreds of dollars. We finally made the trek to HVC for glasses and it was worth it. The entire family had their eyes checked, we got new glasses, I got “computer” glasses and we all could not be happier. My wife got two pair and loves them. I only wish I had gotten the computer glasses years ago as they work so well. The most important thing was the prescription is correct. It is a long drive to HVC from where we live, but it’s worth the trip and we will continue to use HVC going forward.

I have been going to Henderson vision center since before they moved into that new fabulous location. In the beginning most of my interactions was with the contact ladies who from day on were awesome. Since then the contact ladies are still incredible, but I have had the opportunity to work with the other ladies at the front and in the glass magic (repair etc) department. They always go the extra mile, they keep it light, they great knowledge, and if they are not sure they find out. I have had to do some warranty work over the years with my Maui Jim’s sunglasses, and working with the ladies in service make it run seamlessly. I would recommend HENDERSON vision to anyone wanting a long term relationship with some good people and good company. OMG I forgot about Dr. Melo. 3 words “fantastic EYE Doctor. “

Had a comprehensive eye exam here today with Dr. Peloquin. The eye exam itself was very good, but it was by far the most expensive exam I've ever had. I had the exact same comprehensive exam done at a different place two years ago for $40 less! I consulted with friends and family who have had eye exams at several different places in the city, and Henderson Vision Centre was by far the most expensive! - HVC, regarding your response: my last eye exam that cost $99 was the EXACT same exam that you do.

The pre-exam procedures were done well, by staff that were well versed in doing them. The Optometrist (Dr Zimmer), was excellent to deal with and very thorough. In the past I haven't been able to explain my struggle with my progressive lenses to other doctors. No one seemed to understand.
