amazing staff, amazing service and fantastic results! I would recommend Kelowna lazer to anyone!!
Updated: I had my eyes done (SPK) a month ago. The next day was the clearest I've ever seen. After that it got worse and worse, and my eyes spasmed/twitched for about a week and I had trouble keeping them open. After two weeks my vision was still poor, and we changed the drops to non-preservative. That did seem to help but I still had huge light sensitivity and they would easily get overloaded and I would have to lay down. Reading the computer screen was almost impossible for more than a few minutes. I'm writing this as a warning to be careful when thinking about how much time you'll need off of work. I'm a photographer and this caused some issues. Most people can go back to work in 24-48 hours, and I had thought that would be the case for me too. I want to say that when I talked to Dr. Casey and explained the problems I was still having that he was great. That's why this is a 4 star review. I think that the most important thing was that he clearly cared, he believes in the surgery, and after that I felt like I was in good hands and would be helped through the rest of the process. He prescribed some new treatments and my vision has been steadily improving. It's been a huge relief. -1 star because the recovery has been longer and more complicated than I was prepared for. I take some responsibility for this by thinking the best case scenario and not preparing for the worst. So be careful when planning this surgery. 4 stars because Dr. Casey was great when he realized there was a problem with the recovery, and the rest of my experience with the staff there was good. It's really important to have people who have your back if something does go wrong after you're out the door. This isn't something to cheap out on, and after my experience, I can recommend Kelowna Laser Vision. I hope whoever reads this find my review helpful and best of luck.
From consultation to procedure all the staff where very professional helpful and friendly. The procedure was quick and painless. Cost was less than i expected and worth every penny. No more glasses for me! I would not hesitate to recommend.
My experience with Kelowna Laser Vision was amazing! From the very friendly information call, to the surgery itself, and to the last post surgical check-up, everyone was so friendly and professional. I was never left with an unanswered question and felt like my concerns were a priority. When it came time to have the surgery itself everyone did a great job making sure I felt comfortable and the post-surgery recovery was amazingly short! The little bit of discomfort I did have, was so short lived, I slept through if! My vision quality is amazing and I can not express enough how "worth it" all of it is to me. I absolutely recommend getting your surgery done with this team! You won't regret it.
Everyone at Kelowna laser vision was awesome. They answered all my questions and concerns. Surgery day was a breeze. They talked you through the surgery and put you at ease. I had surgery on Friday was driving on Saturday afternoon after clearance from Dr. and able to go to work on Monday. Best money I have ever spent. My eyes are great no glasses needed. Love it just my sunglasses. Now I can wear any style and fashion and cheap sunglasses and see. I highly recommend getting your surgery today and be set free of fogged up glasses, slipping down your nose from perspiration or just falling off and most off al forgetting were you put them or sitting on them. Thank you everyone at Kelowna Laser Vision for be set free of glasses most of all my eye sight and making it a great experience. Take care and thanks. Lillian Coghill
I had mine done about one and a half years ago now and my vision was aclose to 20/20 again to start out with and a year in there appeared to be no issues.. now just over 1.5yrs my eyes are very blurry and i really feel the need to get glasses again!! I can hardly see properly and worst of all at night it is very challenging to drive due to that and also having halo's around lights.
I opted for the SBK because my corneal thickness was well beyond the required minimum, and I like the appeal of the shorter downtime. The optometrist that does the initial checks is Doctor Joel Casey, and he deserves his own review in and of itself. He is extremely professional, very down-to-earth, and extremely knowledgeable about the procedure and its entirety along with his chosen field of practice of Optometry. I had a lot of questions, and he answered every single one of them to my satisfaction. Bev and Brooke were the people responsible for the infrared scans and educating people and putting their fears to rest, another group of true professionals who are extremely passionate about what they do, and definitely deserve a special shout out. The day of surgery they do the final checks and final scans of your eyes to make sure that nothing has changed and to confirm that you are all good to go. My ophthalmic surgeon that performed the procedure in its entirety was Doctor Jeffery Chambers. I want to make one thing abundantly clear. I have had exposure to a lot of medical professionals in my time, I have a psychologist, a psychiatrist, a neurosurgeon, a general practitioner, and a chiropractor. I bring this up because Dr Chambers, without question, made me feel the safest I have ever felt with a medical professional before. They bring you into the main surgical Theater which is in the main office in Kelowna. It's an extremely clean and sterile environment, as one would expect with any surgical theatre, they have you lie down on the bed, and above you are two machines. The first one that cuts the initial flap is a eximer machine that uses an Alexandria laser to create the initial incision in your eye to create the flap. After that is done your eye is taped closed and they bring you over to the other machine which uses a ultraviolet laser to send pulses of light measured in trillionths of a second to reshape the surface of your cornea. And the procedure is then performed on your other eye, after was the flap is replaced, and your eyes are taped closed for about 10 to 15 minutes and you are directed into another room for your final checks again with Doctor Casey. The procedure itself and its entirety takes about 20 to 25 minutes including the final checks. I myself had some mild light sensitivity immediately following the procedure, but you're giving sunglasses to help Shield you from that, I recommend wearing them for most of the day as it can get a little much especially in sunny weather. My vision before going into the procedure was extremely poor, I was measured at 20 / 100 with -5.25 in my left eye and -5.75 in my right eye. Immediately following the procedure in the check up room. Keeping in mind that this was only 10 minutes post op, my vision was corrected to 20/20. And I was told that's probably where it would hang out. However my following appointment today after the swelling had subsided a little bit and I had my point in first thing this morning, my vision had corrected itself even further to 20/10. And this is where I was told that it would most likely remain. The entire procedure itself costs $4,800 for intralase sbk. However having said that, they offer tons of different options, including in-house financing for 0% with 50% down, which is pretty awesome All Things Considered if you're on a budget. I have absolutely nothing but High Praise for them start to finish, I was shaking like Michael J. Fox playing Operation going in to the clinic, but coming out I completely had my viewpoint changed (pun intended). If anybody is looking to get this done, don't think about it, just do it. Your life will change so much as a result of this. Just make sure that you follow all post-operative care and make sure that you take
Best decision ever. No more fussing with contacts while skiing
I had a great experience with Kelowna Laser Vision. The surgery was very quick and painless, it only took a few days to recover, and now I have perfect vision! The staff were all super friendly and helpful, if you're thinking of having laser surgery I would highly recommend going here for a consultation.
Fantastic service. The cost was a little higher than other places but it's worth it. I was able to see straight after the surgery and only had a few minutes of pain once the freezing drops wore off but Kelowna Laser vision has prepared me for this and had applied some drops to get over that hurdle without any hassle. The healing process was extremely fast and I had very minimal discomfort. I highly recommend.
My mother had her surgery done here and she now has blurry vision. The doctor/ophthalmologist dislikes talking to her about her current situation. I would just like to remind any potential patients that this is a business establishment. They give you a sales pitch and make it sound really great but when things go south it is awkward for them, and you may have to go on your miserable way with a lot less money and worse vision than what you started with. Please think twice, you are gambling with your visual health.
Thank you, to everyone at Kelowna Laser Vision! I am thrilled my results and with the excellent care from my first appointment to my last! The professional, quality care I received before, during, and after my laser eye surgery was exceptional. My wife also had laser eye surgery at Kelowna Laser Vision and could not be happier about it! I always recommend Kelowna Laser Vision to anyone I know who is considering laser eye surgery.
Had such a great experience here! All the staff was friendly and helpful! I would recommend them to anyone.
From the first time i walked through the doors my experience was amazing. The staff were all very professional, kind and informative. A number had the surgery done and explained what it was like as well as sharing what others had told them. The Dr. tested my eyes and they were appropriate and healthy, and he took the time to explain what he was looking for and why. They were actually excited for me the day i arrived for the surgery. The process was explained to me in a very thorough manner and making me have all the confidence that everyone knew exactly their role and knew it well. The surgeon then went through everything again before i went into the OR. Again, everyone was calm, kind and excited for me. The surgery went exactly how it was explained so there were no surprises. 15 minutes after i walked into the OR i was out in the waiting room able to see already! All my post-op appts were good and the next day i was legally able to drive. There was no real discomfort - absolutely the best thing i have done for myself in a very long time! Thanks to a great team i don't have to wear glasses for the first time in over 40 years ! Thanks everyone at Kelowna Laser Vision! I have referred and will continue to refer to you!
Amazing 20/20 when I walked out. A few days recovery but wish I would have done it years ago!
these people are psychopaths. totally ruined my eyes. I'm stuck with pain and dry eye everyday. How can they live with themselves when they treat people like this?
I got laser eye surgery in October 2018. The staff at Kelowna Laser Vision Centre provided such great care. They answered all my questions and concerns with such respect and honesty. They made me feel comfortable and I am so grateful to everyone at the Centre for convincing me and being there for me during my recovery period. I am so glad I got this surgery done. It has been life changing and so far my vision is perfect. I would recommend this centre to all my family and friends. :)
These guys are awesome! Best money I've ever spent on myself. They were very professional and everything was explained very well before the surgery happened. The surgery was easy and the results are amazing. I wouldn't have done it anywhere else.
I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with this clinic & my surgery. From the beginning I was given a great amount of information for me to feel comfortable proceeding with lasik, the staff along with Dr Casey only treated me with kindness and a great sense of caring for my safety. Though the surgery wasn't the most fun I've ever had, it was quick and the healing process afterwards went fast. I am so happy with the results and would recommend this clinic & this procedure to anyone that asked. Thanks again :)
It has been just over a month since I got my eyes done at Kelowna Laser Vision. What a difference! From pre-surgery appointments, surgery day and post-surgery checkups the staff here has gone above and beyond, exceeding all expectations. I would highly recommend the surgery and Kelowna Laser Vision to anyone.
why. why do you do this. you take money. ruin peoples lives. we have to live with this awful thing you've done to us. every day we have to live with the pain and suffering you've afflicted upon us. how do you live with yourselves? knowing that you've ruined people's lives. you are sick. all of you. from the owner of this business right down to the receptionists. you all carry business knowing that you have ruined peoples lives and yet you continue your unethical business practices. "this person complained of severe eye pain today after the procedure we did on them!" "haha, oh just business as usual!". Don't go here. Don't let anyone, especially the people here, touch your eyes.
