In March 2015, after surgery on my right eye for macular schisis, (which left me with poor vision) I was told I would have a cataract develop in that eye within a year to a year and a half. In March of 2016, my surgeon, Dr. Efrem Mandelcorn, confirmed a cataract and recommended Dr. David Lane for the procedure. Being aware I had not been able to get a glasses prescription to give me good vision in the whole year following the surgery, I really had no great expectation that cataract surgery would do anything more that give me BRIGHTER , but still blurry vision. I was so wrong. I had the operation in the morning and was back for a post-op check up in the afternoon. The nurse took me into the exam room, removed the eyepatch . Leaving, she said, "Dr. Lane will be right in". Now looking around the room, I realized I could see, clear and crisp for the first time in over a year. For me it was magic!! (and tears of joy!) Dr. Lane and his whole staff are very caring professionals , listening to my concerns and no question was ever considered trivial. Just a "Thank you all so much" hardly touches how grateful I am for this whole experience.

Dr. Lane and his staff are absolutely amazing! I went to them with injured eyes and they quickly helped me heal them. When Dr. Lane said I could no longer wear contacts everyone was quick to test whether or not I was a candidate for laser eye surgery. I was very nervous about the surgery and all the way through it everyone there was patient and kind. I could not have gone to a better place! I am thrilled about my new eyes, life is so much easier without the hassle of contacts and glasses. I cannot thank Dr. Lane and everyone who works at his office enough!

Dr. Lane and associates made a stressful trip to the opthamologist so much easier than anticipated. Everyone was extremely accomodating when I expressed concern and fear, and they did everything they could to make sure I was comfortable. Dr. Lane himself was very calm and reassuring and explained things before he did them, acknowledging my discomfort along the way. Although I hope, for my eyes sake, tk not return to this office very frequently, I would be grateful to have Dr. Lane assist me again in the future.

I had a small medical emergency involving my left eye and was referred to Dr. Lane by my optometrist. He agreed to see me that same day. His clinic is very nice with ample parking and is run very efficiently, His staff are courteous and professional. The best part though, is that you are in the care of an excellent eye doctor. He saw me 3 times in 5 days. He clearly addressed what my problem was and the different ways I could treat it. After consideration I chose the more immediate and invasive procedure. A procedure he performed with ease with myself experiencing very little discomfort. His bedside manner is excellent. The Kawartha Lakes/ Peterborough area is very fortunate to have a Dr. of this calibre. Dr. David Lane is the gold standard.

Having laser eye surgery for bilateral cataracts at Dr. Lane's Laser Clinic was a very positive experience from start to finish. " The idea" of eye surgery wasn't pleasant, so thankfully from finding out that I needed surgery to the booking of it was quicki The staff from receptionist to nurses were always friendly, knowledgable and very helpful. The preop office appointments and surgery was extremely organized with minimal waiting, its entire efficiency was commendable. Not once did I experience any pain or discomfort, during the entire process and any concerns or questions were always resolved by Dr. Lane or the nurses. Dr. Lane and his team performed cataract surgery on my right eye two weeks ago. The resulting improvement in my sight is incredible. I feel like I'm living in an amazing hi-tech 3D movie. Incredible! I didn't realize how much my eye had deteriorated in the last year or two! Like many people I am very queasy about the thought of having things done to my eyes. Dr. Lane was able to make me feel safe, and willing to do the cataract surgery that would give me 20/20 far vision .... something I have never had. The surgery was painless and the recovery easy. Cataract surgery was not something I was looking forward to. Once diagnosed with mature cataracts, my optometrist, Dr, Marchand, referred me to Dr Lane.The initial visit to Dr. Lane's clinic has you going through a series of examinations and finally a consultation with Dr. Lane. Your options are spelled out for you and there is no pressure to select one method or the other. I opted to have surgery at the clinic. The pre-op takes longer than the surgery. The surgery takes less than 10 minutes and was completely pain free. No pain no bandages all good! The second day after surgery I noticed a major improvement in my vision. I am over the moon with the results of my eye surgery by Dr. Lane. He and his staff are the most caring and professional folks and his Cataract Center is state of the art - what a boon for Lindsay, ON. I had femto laser assisted refractive cataract surgery on Jan. 23 & 30th respectively and chose to upgrade to toric lenses to correct astigmatism. My cataracts did not qualify for OHIP coverage so I paid for this surgery myself and I can tell you it is the best money I have every spent. I am 71 years old and have worn glasses since I was 3 years old due to an eye injury at that age, as well as some sort of infection when I was born. I was in tears when Dr. Lane's Office Manager told me I would not have to wear glasses for driving at all - but I will need minimal correction for close work. 68 years of weariing glasses every day and except for a few years in my teens and early 20s (due to vanity), all my waking hours ...... how great is that??? Phenomenal !!!!!!! I thank my lucky stars that Dr. Lane chose Lindsay to open his Center - I can't say enough about him and his staff. Thank you so much !

I listened carefully to all that was explained to me, my options, possible results for each option, the costs, the pre op and the post op information. The staff and Dr Lane answered my many questions clearly and with great patience. They repeatedly gave me the opportunity to express my expectations, which I personally thought were unrealistically high, and my concerns. I had been wearing glasses since I was 8 years old and my eyes were quite weak. Dr. Lane assured me that he would be with me until he could reach the optimum results. And he was. The results were that despite my weak eyes, I no longer need distance or reading glasses! .The staff and Dr lane were friendly, calm and reassuring throughout the entire process. I was a recent patient for cataract surgery and am so pleased with my experience and outcome. Choosing Dr. Lane was easy. Not only had I heard from several people about their great experiences, he took considerable time with me to review the process and lens options. My first reaction was to choose the top of the line lens. He carefully and patiently explained why that lens might not be the optimal choice for me and helped me choose ones that would better meet my needs – and happened to be considerably less expensive. From the moment I walked into this state-of-the-art facility, I was made to feel like I was the only patient there. I was warmly welcomed by all and reassured at every step in the process, including by Dr. Lane. The surgery was quick and painless, and my vision was clear and sharp from the moment I opened my eyes. I had cataract surgery in early September of 2016 by Dr. David Lane at the hospital. I was extremely nervous about the surgery. However, the whole surgery took about 5 or 6 minutes. Dr. Lane has a very calming manner and he calmed me by talking to me during the whole experience. He told me I was doing extremely well and that things would be finished in a couple of minutes. I would highly recommend that if anyone requires cataract surgery Dr. David Lane in Lindsay Ontario is the surgeon who need to have to perform the surgery. You will feel nothing and he is extremely professional. Also all is staff are wonderful!

I am a man in my late 50’s who was recently diagnosed with a cataract in my left eye. I was referred through my optometrist to Dr. David Lane. During my consultation with Dr. Lane, he wondered if I would like to be one of his first patients to receive, during my cataract operation, a new symfony intraocular lens. Dr. Lane explained that this new lens is a tri-focal lens. Meaning when inserted would correct far, intermediate and near vision impairments. And, as a result I would probably not have to wear glasses. Although the symfony lens was more expensive than a regular replacement lens, it was the best money I have spent. Subsequently, I have had the cataract in my right eye removed, and again, I opted to spend the extra money for the symfony lens. Every day my sight gets stronger. I was referred to Dr. Lane by my optometrist for cataracts and had a consultation within two weeks. Dr. Lane and his staff fully and quickly answered every question I had and fully explained all of my options. At all times I felt I was being dealt with in my own best interest. We decided on the standard OHIP funded option and I was very pleasantly surprised to have all tests and measurements done and cataract surgery performed on both eyes within two months (one week between eyes). Follow-up by Dr. Lane and his staff was excellent and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Dr. Lane asked me if there was anything they could have done to make the process better and I honestly answered there was nothing they could have improved upon.

Amazing doctor!!! I highly recommend Dr. Lane....his "bedside" manner is awesome , his staff are very friendly, an appointment at 2:00 is actually at 2:00. I have had to wear glasses since I was 8 years old (now 63) and when I ended up with cataracts in both eyes, my optician, Dr. Marchand, set me up with Dr. Lane. He performed surgery on my right eye in March and did the left one in April. I just returned from my final followup appointment with him and it was the first time that anyone told me that my vision is 20/20. I was nervous about having the surgery (who wants someone poking around in their eyes) but it was a piece of cake.
