Today I went in to see if my lenses could be switched out as their policy permits within 90 days satisfaction guarantee. As I was trying to explain to Tami who was helping me, what it was I was needing changed with my glasses, a staff member by the name of "DIANNE" was behind the counter at the till and interrupted my conversation with Tami who was helping me. Unprovoked, she started screaming and yelling at me from the front desk, and then later the hallway, telling me repeatedly to leave or she'd have security throw me out, that I was being rude, and at that point she came around the front desk and stepped into my personal space and leaned in within 3" of my face and repeated that if I didn't leave immediately that she was going to call security. I couldn't believe this was actually happening while I was being helped by staff member, Tami. ???? She hollard and screamed and proceeded to call me an "idiot" in front of my young child, loudly apologizing to my son that I was his mother, all again in front of customers. As She noticed me looking at her name badge she said, " my name is Dianne, you want to report me to management?" She took of her name badge and came aggressively toward me with her arm outstretched toward me, telling me I could have it if I wanted it. I told her calmly no. She continued her rant making it too difficult for me to continue my business that I finally had to request a full refund for my glasses, not even being able to get my son glasses today, (he was in the other room trying on frames as he also needs glasses) and said that our family will take our business elsewhere in the future. How truly sad when I try to support North Shore businesses whenever possible. Clearly this woman is troubled. I recognize mental health issues as I've worked in the medical field. This woman is clearly unwell and I would urge all who can, to take their business to a more stable environment for a safer experience. If this were my business I would have no other choice but let this troubled woman "Dianne" go as customers should NEVER have to be subjected to an unprovoked aggressive attack from a troubled employee in a professional setting as I endured today. Kind Regards, Post Script: This is her write up on the website and sadly nothing could be further from the truth; "Dianne is in charge of reception and works in pretest. One of her biggest attributes is her people skills, and a good thing because she is the first person you see when you are greeted at the door! Dianne will ensure that your patient experience is exceptional from start to finish. She has been honing her skills for over 5 years and began her career with Dr. Allaway and Dr. Ewanyshyn at Shuswap Optometric Centre in Salmon Arm. Spending quality time with friends and family, walking her Mini Schnauzer Sasha and enjoying the great outdoors are among her favourite past times. Drop by and say hi to Dianne!" PPS Today I recieved a call from the Manager Frankie in the Salmon Arm optical location kindly offering a sincere apology on behalf of the owners for the verbal abusive we recieved from "Dianne". She explained that this was completely inexcusable behaviour from DIANNE and that they were sorry for the treatment both my son and I were subjected to from the recept. DIANNE. Although I appreciated the sincere apologies delivered to me by the Salmon Arm Manager Frankie, I must say that considering the threatening degree of unprovoked Verbal abuse my son and I recieved at the North Shore location in North Hills Mall, the apology fell short in that not only did the owners not feel the need to take this matter directly in their own hands to offer the apology to me directly, but there was no good will gesture to offer to my son and I in the way of an eyeglass discount for enduring such treatment I've ever encountered. In conclusion I can only hope that those reading this review would seriously consider taking their business elsewhere to ensure a safe experience.

I've never had a bad experience here. I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment, and I was seen practically immediately. I had numerous tests done and the Dr answered all my questions. She even fixed my glasses, and thoroughly explained the condition of my eyes. She was very friendly, warm, and helpful. She was excellent with my daughter, keeping her engaged and comfortable. I would absolutely recommend.

Some of the reviews on here seem extremely inaccurate. I've been getting eye care done since a young age and going to Thompson Rivers Family Optometry has by far been the best experience I've had. They are very kind, professional and time efficient. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff and Dr. Frison. I am happy to say I've found somewhere I plan on going to for my vision needs and I would highly recommend them to anyone!!

Lady that does the glasses fitting didn't do her job properly 2x. The tops of my ears were chaffing then I kept getting headaches (glasses tech later told me they weren't fitted properly). When I broke my glasses, I wasn't asked if they could help me in my dilemma. I had to go to an outside source to finally fix the fit and the arm of my glasses. Will never go here again
