Such a wonderful experience dealing with Dr. Fava and his staff! From the Eye Clinic at St.Josephs Urgent Care, to his office on Paramount, I was treated with care and a thorough treatment. A very positive and nice experience in this impatient world we live in. I felt safe with all the Covid protocols they have put in place and my appointments were efficient and pleasant. I highy recommend Dr. Fava and his staff. Well done!

Dr Mark Fava one of the best doctors in the world reason i can say is because my issue was complicated and i went to many doctors in India and canada, specially in India i went to all the major eye hospitals but no one diagnosed my issue, my eyes are not 100% fixed yet but it's far better than before.

I saw Dr. Fava some time ago, I really liked his calm professional manner, he was through and answered all my questions, and calmed my fears that I was going to maybe lose sight in my one eye from a possible shingle outbreak coming down near my eye. i'm hoping to have a referral done to him again for some other issues.

I have been to Dr. Fava’s office approximately 4 times already (2 pre-op, 1 Lasik surgery, and 1 post-op so far). Each time, I was treated with the utmost professionalism, respect and compassion. I had an issue with my retina and Dr. Fava referred me to another specialist to get that fixed before going ahead with Lasik. I really appreciated that he wanted to take the safest route and didn’t rush me into having my Lasik procedure done. I can’t say enough about how thankful I am to Dr. Fava and his amazing team for giving me my vision back and for putting my mind at ease throughout the whole process. I found them to be very accommodating and personable and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking to have Lasik eye surgery done. The only heads-up I would give is that your appointment could be cancelled last minute (as one of my follow-up appointments was) if Dr. Fava gets called into emergency surgery, but that is out of their hands and emergencies obviously take priority. It was just disappointing because I took the day off work. But overall I would give 10 stars if I could!

I recently saw Dr. Fava for a potential laser eye surgery. Sadly to say I am not a candidate for one due to an eye condition. He right away set up a game plan in order to track my prognosis. I felt very welcome and cared for during my visit. He is such a humble man. I would recommend him 1000 times over to anyone looking to get laser eye surgery. I feel relieved that I came to him. My experience at Dr. Fava's has, on the whole, been excellent. Dr. Fava really seems to care about his patients and takes eye sight seriously, and my overall interactions with the staff have been enjoyable as well. The wait time's may vary that you will be there. I have had to wait past my appointment time, but I have also been seen before my appointment time, it just depends on the day. And, in the long run, I would rather wait to see someone who is going to take the time and effort to get my vision as good as possible than speed through with someone who isn't going to spend the time to find the best treatments for me. I am definitely recommending Dr. Fava's to other's I know that should be seeking a quality ophthalmologist.

I had cataract surgery on both eyes, three weeks apart, in Jan. this year. Everything went perfectly. Dr. Fava and complete staff were fantastic. He is exceptionally busy, and the wait times sometimes seem longer than necessary, but the wait is well worth it. Again, thanks to Dr. Fava and staff.

My visit to see Dr. Fava was excellent. I arrived on time for my appointment and was taken care of as soon as I walked through the door. I literally didn't have time to sit down before one of the staff members begin taking some tests. After running a few tests, the wait time to see Dr. Fava was short. Dr. Fava was very polite and friendly to my fiancee and I. He took the time to properly examine the results of my tests and to look at my eyes. He not provided us with all the information regarding my prognosis but he also took the time to discuss the possible solutions to improve my condition. He also answered all of our questions. Thank you Dr. Fava and his staff for a great experience!

Went here today with my mother. Our appointment was at 2:30 and we did not see Dr. Fava until 3:45. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. When he was checking my mothers eye, he yelled at her for not keeping her eyes straight. He did not even take into consideration that her condition makes her eyes very sensitive to light. The receptionists also seem miserable, they can’t even greet you with a smile. Overall horrible experience, do not recommend.

I was referred to Dr .Mark Fava by my Optometristt for possible laser cataract removal.. I recieved excellent care from both Dr. Fava & his saff. He explained the cataract surgeryn in detail. He answered all of my questions with kindness & patience. I am very happy wth the care I was given in both his office & during my surgery at St. Joseps Eye Clinic. I have been very fortunate to have been accepted as a patient by Dr. Fava. Dr. Fava performed a corneal transplant on my left eye which was necessary as a result of damage to the cornea from a recurring herpes simplex infection. More recently Dr. Fava performed cataract surgery on the same eye. I have found Dr. Fava to be an exceptional surgeon. He is highly knowledgeable, personable and approachable. He has a wonderful personality and a great sense of humour. Unlike many specialists he is easy to talk to, takes time to answer questions you may have and conveys a great deal of confidence in his abilities. His followup care to surgery he has performed is exceptional. He is highly respected by his peers as evidenced by the large number of patients he has that have been referred to him from throughout south western ontario. It is true that his office is busy and patients at times need to wait for various periods of time before being seen by him. In my opinion it is worth waiting one's turn in his office to get the benefit and help of such a highly skilled surgeon. I have found his staff to be highly professional and very approachable. They are genuinely caring and attentive when dealing with patients. I have had appointments changed on short notice by Dr. Fava's office. I believe that those changes on short notice have been the result of the fact that Dr. Fava is an on call surgeon for St. Joseph's hospital for emergencies that arise at the hospital. I would and have recommended Dr. Fava to a number of friends who have required Dr. Fava's specialized skills.

From the first visit to Dr. Fava's office I was impressed by the professionalism and kindness of the staff who welcomed me. Once in the office I was further impressed by the knowledge of the team and the well maintained and up to date equipment. All my subsequent appointments were much the same, not to mention the supportive phone calls I had with the staff. My procedure (cataract surgery) went very well. Dr. Fava did an awesome job and I was in and out of surgery I'm less than 15 minutes. The hospital staff was also great!! Furthermore, I found Dr. Fava to be very knowledgeable and a nice guy. I highly recommend Dr. Fava and this office.

I was referred to Dr. Fava by an urgent care facility. Upon arrival at the clinic, I was very impressed with the demeanor of his staff. The person on reception greeted me in a very friendly manner as soon as I walked in. The young woman who saw me prior to the doctor was very professional and friendly. The atmosphere of the clinic is very calming. Doctor Fava is very professional, while still being down to earth and easy to talk to. He answered any questions I had and was very thorough. Even though he was on call for the entire region that day, he treated his patients in a warm and very caring manner. I would highly recommend this clinic. A big thumbs up to all the staff for being so warm and friendly - you don't find that everywhere these days!

This is a very friendly, respectful, and professional office. First staff answered all my questions in detail while going through different testing machines. Made me feel very cared for, and comfortable. Then the resident examined me, he was very polite, and professional. Dr Fava then came in and re-examined me to confirm findings, and explained things to me in detail. I will be returning for a procedure at the end of the month, but because of the reassurance from the whole team, and Dr Fava addressing all of my concerns. Dr. Fava's front office staff employees and the employee than performed testing for IOL Mastet were courteous and professional. My first time meeting Dr. Fava he was professional and courteous. However, after I paid my $300 for the test and my 2nd meeting with him I realized he is arrogant and dismissive. My test was extensive and I was expecting a discussion of the test results and an explanation of the condition of my eyes. Instead, I sat in his office and looked at him reviewing the films and results of the test; he signed off on them and turned to me and said the date is confirmed for the surgery and the scheduler will give me more info ( do not remember her name) I was shocked. He was at the door and I was still sitting in the chair. I began asking questions but he replied quite annoyingly, " I've done many of these before it takes about 15 minutes" (I was still seated and he opened the door. I could not believe it. Unfortunately, the scheduler was 10 times worst. She was condescending and spoke to me as though I was an idot. She showed me how to put a "check mark" next to a question. She continued to explain the most basic although I told her I am experienced in working in the medical field (30 years) My question regarding the type of lens was never answered. Dr. Fava continued seeing clients and I was told he's too busy and again he can close his eyes and do the surgery. I cancelled the surgery the next day. Today, I returned to Dr. Fava's office after trying to get an answer for 2days and not able to leave a message to pick up my tests as I have an appointment to have my surgery with another opthamologist. I waited for more than 1/2 hr and was told they ate too busy and it will cost me to get them and I cannot get them today. I strongly objected to paying as I paid $300 and all I needed were the films and no reports (the receptionist could have given them to me) The scheduler was objecting to me receiving them and Dr Fava came to the front office and ordered me out of his office without giving them to me. I was shocked as to his anger towards me. I believe they were still mad at me for cancelling the surgery. Dr. Fava has a bipolar personality. Its shocking how he reacts to being questioned. Before I left I blasted him with a few f...ing and much more and let him know he cannot break me. I have to pay another $300 but I am not going to starve because of it

Today I took my young son there on last minute referral from my sons eye doctor. Our appt was at 4pm. We arrived at 3:45pm not wanting the office to close before we got there. The waiting room was completely full with at least 20 people before us. At the 2hr mark our younger son who had no choice but come with us needed to use the bathroom. He did so fine. Upon leaving the office he tripped on the door mat and fell and split his head open on the window ledge in the lobby. The doctor came out and was very very rude not just to me but his own staff. Made wild accusations that we "pushed" our son. Accidents happen. He's 4. The doctor seemed to care more about whether he was going to be sued. He even refused to let his nurse assist us. Refused to see our son and instead was insistent we take a cab to the hospital while one of us waited for our older son waited to be seen. His conduct was very unprofessional. He didn't even apologize,render aid just nothing. I don't care that my 4yr old split his head open and needed 4 stitches but when you overbook to that degree you have patients waiting in excess of 2hrs to be seen something is wrong. It's negligence in the very least and compromises patient care. If you ever need an opthamologist find someone else. There are doctors far more qualified than him.
