I am so glad that I found a great Optometrist in the Halifax area that doesn't make me nervous at all. Gaetan's Assistant had to sent me to Red Eye for my eyes.. but he assured me it wasn't nothing too scary and he kept my calm. They are very social and they are so great and I got a great pair of glasses that are stylish! A new look that I love.

One of the friendliest clinics I've ever visited. I was given a prescription, as my vision wasn't completely perfect, but told that filling it wasn't necessary; they didn't try to push anything on me at all. Everything was explained perfectly, nothing was rushed, and I could have chatted with Dr. Poh and the front end staff all day.

It was recommended by my GP that I have an optometrist look at my eyes for a potential arterial problem. I researched optometrists in Halifax and saw Lang Optometry was highly recommended. I booked an appointment and was told that it would be $160 for an eye exam (which, already, is significantly more than most places). I explained to the receptionist that I was seeing an optometrist for a medical reason and that I wasn't interested in having my vision tested. She said she's just "the lady that answers the phone," and didn't know anything about when or how MSI could cover an optometrist appointment. She forwarded my call to another person, a manager I believe, who explained to me that as a new client it was required that everyone get an eye exam to establish a file with the clinic and that this exam was a nonnegotiable requirement. I told them I wasn't interested in an exam that I felt like I didn't need, and I was told that this was their policy. They did tell me that the exam may be cheaper depending on what was actually involved, which I appreciate, however she was similarly unable to explain to me when or how MSI covers appointments and insisted that I needed to pay for my first exam. I had her cancel my appointment. I called another optometry clinic and the receptionist there was very knowledgeable and able to explain to me in detail, and in much friendlier terms, what my options were. So, I booked an appointment with them, and worst case scenario will be saving $40 as their prices are lower. I've heard great things about Dr. Lang. It's a shame his front staff couldn't assist me.

Dr. Po examined my eyes, my wife's eyes, and our 18 month old daughter's eyes. He was nice, courteous, kind, funny, and, despite the fact that the baby was ... fidgety ... to put it mildly, he managed to do a great exam and refer her to a specialist when it turned out that was needed. I would recommend this office to anyone.

I recently moved here for school and decided to go to Lang Optometry based on the positive reviews I had read online. All of the staff far exceeded my expectations. I am quite shy but the receptionists made me feel comfortable right away. The atmosphere is great. The frames ranged from classic and sophisticated to fun and unique. Dr. Poh was so friendly, professional and thorough during the exam. He referred me to a specialist, took the time to explain my condition and answered all of my questions. Jodie was very knowledgable in choosing frames based on face shapes and went through quite a few pairs to help me pick my favourite. Dr. Poh even sat in and gave his opinion on frames and they both suggested local markets and restaurants to try while my partner and I were there to pick out frames. Overall, it is evident that everyone that works here is passionate about what they do and that translated to the best service I think that I've ever received. I would highly suggest going here, you won't regret it!

Recommend them all. Been going there for years. State of the art technology. Really nice staff that always go way beyond in helpfulness. I've had several eye emergencies, but was seen right away, and both the medical and technical problems successfully resolved. I like and trust Dr. Lang and Dr. Poh, and I love the staff.

I just had my first eye exam ever last week and it went wonderfully. The process went smoothly and the doctor was able to walk me through each of the tests in an easy to understand way. He was kind and welcoming, I couldn't recommend them more.

I was disappointed and do not recommend this place. The optometrist was pushy in suggesting that expensive prescription glasses be bought preferably only from the store he worked for. The staff however was pleasant and proper in receiving the patient and in all other dealings. The optometrist later withheld PD information from the prescription when the 92 year old senior citizen balked at paying over $500+ for progressive lenses she was quoted (the same lenses are available for under $50 on-line) and told the optometrist of her decision to buy on line or from another store. When the omitted information from prescription was noted upon arrival at home, the optometrist required the patient to come back so that he can collect more money ($30) for the information on distance between pupils (PD distance) he already recorded and is routinely given out by all optometrists all over the world on a prescription for eye glasses. This looks unethical behaviour and we are investigating with MSI, NS College of Optometrists and Department of Health and Wellness. Withholding that information knowing that the prescription without PD numbers is worthless, is wrong and was done on purpose. Asking an elderly patient in her nineties, unable to walk but conscious and agile enough to smell a scam, to come back to deposit more money is insanely insensitive. Without that information one cannot order glasses from elsewhere and reflects the greed camouflaged in tradition of that office . You should be wary of their business practices. The test itself was done without haste and seemingly properly. Having waited a week and overpaid for the services we, however , have no confidence in the handwritten credit card size prescription given out.

It’s charge after charge at Lang Optometry. If you want to get ripped off come here, otherwise there are much better optometrist to choose from. I was having eye problems and the doctor blamed it on stress. He didn’t seem like he cared about my problems. I asked for contacts, they said they charge $40, and now they’re asking for another $40 to order more contacts just for the doctor to check my eyes again. Unnecessary charges!!
