While many optometry clinics can feel a little sterile, the wonderful staff at work here truly bring this place to life. With the talented care of the ever knowledgeable Dr. Bond I was sure I would be receiving the best possible care and attention here. And not only does this place specialize in the necessities of eye care but FYI Downtown manages to blow most other locations out of the water with their tastefully aware staff. Cat made finding a new pair of perfect glasses a breeze with her reassuring insight for style and mastery of the casual conversation - she even helped me find a great brunch! The clinical atmosphere transforms with a single conversation as you'll quickly come to realize you're in the hands of professionals that also treat you like an individual - a true necessity for quality care.

When I went back about a confused thing, all guys in the store refuse to ask the doctor because a guy said that the doctor is working for another client. But, when she was doing the exam for me, somebody came in and then she told me that she had to leave a moment for picking up a call. So is it fair?

Excellent staff. I been to this place twice. They gave me a referral coupon to be worth $25 and said when I come back again to buy my glasses then I can use them. Recently I went there to buy glasses and an eye exam. I was working in the morning so I went there right after my work, I forgot my wallet at home. I asked the staff if I can pay the rest amount when I come back to get my glasses but she ignored me and wanted me to pay the whole amount in the front, So I did pay the money with Apple pay but I forgot that I have $50 coupons at home. I called the office a few days after to ask if they can refund me $50 and take those coupons but they said we can't do it now. You can use those coupons to buy something else. What if I don't want to buy anything else? What if I lost those coupons in a couple of years? I didn't like their policy about coupons and I didn't like the customer service this time.

Absolute worst customer service I have ever had. Had to order my glasses in 4 times. Every time I called for an update because I hadn't heard anything (every 2 weeks), they told me there was no record of the transaction but they assured be every time that they ordered them. Almost 2 months later and I still have no glasses.....

First visit and I will definitely be going back. Everyone was kind and friendly from when I walked in the door to when I left. Ben, Sydney and Dr. Bond were all so kind, thorough, and listened to all my questions and concerns. They spent time explaining everything to me and made sure if I had any questions they were answered. Erika and Catherine were awesome and allowed me to try on as many frames as I wanted and gave me honest opinions on how they looked. They have a HUGE selectiom to choose from. Catherine also explained all my options for purchasing new frames in a way that made me feel comfortable and that there was no pressure to purchase right away! The clinic is super clean and a really great, welcoming, environment!

I've seen Dr. Carew for years - he's personable, knowledgable and patient. I have quite a strong prescription and it can take a while to narrow down the best combination of lenses; I never feel rushed! Front staff have always been pleasant as well, and I've received great help picking out frames.

If you're looking for a new optometrist, you can't get better than this. For starters, Dr. Allison Scott is the best optometrist I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. She's not only caring and kind, but she also gives you the time you need to express any concerns or questions you may have. I've never once felt rushed, and whenever I ask questions about things she always delivers through answers. My last visit to her office I asked a ton of questions about the photos they take of the inside of your eye and she explained everything I could think to ask. Now I feel like I know my own eyeball inside and out. Secondly, I think the other staff here is some of the finest I've seen. Always ready with a smile and very kind. They'll even laugh along to my horrible jokes! You seriously won't find a better place to get your peepers peeped at than here. 5 stars! 10 outta 10! I've attached to this review a photo of how I feel when I leave my appointment for reference. You might not be able to tell, but I'm wearing a pair of contact lenses that I got at this very spot!

Catherine was such a great help when selecting frames during my visit, and was incredibly charismatic! Dr. Bond also performed an amazing eye exam and answered all my questions without hesitation. I've been a client of FYI doctors at both the Spryfield location and the Spring Garden Road location. I've been seen by 3 of the doctors in Spryfield and one in Halifax. They are all exceptional. The optician in Spryfield that fitted my newest prescription was also great. I've referred both locations to friends and family. I've been seeing optometrists for decades and this group is the one that I have felt the most confidence and trust in.

I ordered Fyidoctors new anti-fog coating on my new glasses… WHAT A GAME CHANGER. The fog is no longer an issue when wearing my mask and glasses together. I would recommend this coating to absolutely everyone (and it wasn’t even an expensive add on ????).

Very Professional Awesome service, Megan was amazing, so much patience with my Grandson trying to learn how to wear contacts and look after them. Shout out to Dr Carew for fitting him in on short notice. We didn't know how we would be able to organize with our Valley schedule, but Dr Carew made it happen for us.. Very professional group of people. They all work together to help make it the best experience. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. From Erika brown at the front desk to Dr Gaudet everyone really made me feel comfortable. It was my first eye exam and Megan walked me through the process until Dr Gaudet saw me. She was very patient with the x-rays as I am blinker. In the end Leanne helped me pick glasses that suits my needs and budget which was really helpful. Overall one of the best experiences I could have. I am so happy that I went there. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an eye exam or new pair of glasses.

Visit different optometrist in HRM since moving here in 1998. Landed on FYidoctors couple years ago. It is optometrist for my family (wife and children). Direct billing to my insurance. Very nice and knowledgeable staff. My family visits the Sackville location and I visit the Spring Garden now as it is close to my work. I like that fact that I visit FYidoctors different location and still have the same optometrists available to see. We prefer Dr. Paula Gaudet. She is very nice, easy to talk to and with vast knowledge. Always willing to take the time needed for us and to go the extra mill.

THE Best place to get your glasses in Halifax. i got my very first glasses here. When I went to store first time, they showed the best glasses on a very good price and told me come back on Sale day where i can get glasses for free and only pay for lenses which helped to save over $300. Highly recommend this place because they have the best service and the best doctors.

I had an eye exam with Dr. Paula Gaudet, and she was fantastic. She really took the time to explain everything to me. I have never worn glasses nor needed them before. I don't know a ton about vision and optics. I was really impressed with her willingness to explain things in a way that I could understand. I had an eye examination a few years ago, and there was not really much commentary other than, "you don't really need glasses now, but maybe in the future". Dr. Gaudet was great with educating me and telling me what to expect in the future. I can't speak to FYI Doctors' products or eyewear as I have not gone down that route, but for a eye exam or a checkup, I would really recommend Dr. Gaudet.

This place is legitimately the most expensive place in the city to buy your glasses from. They charge the most I've seen for an eye exam, $135 + tax, and after all is said and done, my girlfriend ended up paying more than $500 for her glasses, and she didn't even get the eye exam! (I paid $350 for mine) Maybe the prices are so high because they pay the salespeople to take forever to process a purchase. So warning, if you *do* decide to waste your money here, be sure to have the entire day free.

I called and set up a time, explained my situation and insurance, everything was fine. When I got there they were confused and told me they don't accept my Insurance (Blue Cross!?) and 'I can just pay out of pocket'. Felt like a bait and switch. Didn't get my exam that day.
