Great staff
Bad place, employee has no experience, prices are very expensive, they are cheating, I do not recommend anyone to him
I recently took my family for eye exams. I hadn’t had my eyes tested in many years I knew I needed glasses and I had broken mine however I was nervous about my ageing eyes and what they would find. I was very pleasantly surprised at how relaxing and comforting the optometrist was and I was very pleasantly surprised to know that my eyes had not changed. My daughter and myself got excellent glasses at a wonderful price. I can’t say enough about how lovely the optometrist was. I would definitely recommend.
Awesome friendly staff very helpful thanks
Dr. Debly was awesome for help post concussion with vision. She had recommendations on eye rest, supplements and all in all the check felt super thorough. I had more frequent follow ups until my eyesight seemed stable. They even checked if my cheap lenses were accurate for me ????, which I truly appreciated!
I used to go here as a kid for eye exams so as an adult I decided to come back, but I was really disappointed. Probably the only good thing about this place is their hours of operation are a bit more flexible than others. I found that my wait time was excessively long, and I didn't find the front desk staff friendly, professional, or helpful. They also failed to inform me of the $35 fee for the contact lens fitting appointment which isn't covered by insurance and does not go towards the purchase of the contact lenses. Would not recommend to others, your money is better spent elsewhere. EDIT: If I would have bought my contacts from Family Vision it would have been $50 per box plus the $35 throwaway fee for the contact lens fitting. Instead I bought my glasses and contacts from Vogue, who gave me an $80 credit for my contacts and their contact lens fitting was free.
Dr. Marni and her team do an incredible job! 10/10 recommend
I appreciate the professionalism of the practice - all the way from how they greet you as you come in the door to the meticulous way in which the ophthalmologist explains what's going on with your eyes to the help in selecting frames that suit my face and the right lenses for my lifestyle.
Went there for the first time last month, they were awesome. Friendly knowledgeable staff. The eye exam was thorough. The glasses fit and feel great. Worth the money. I referred my whole family!????????????
I have been to this office twice in the past few months. Once to purchase prescription progressive sunglasses and once for an adjustment to my regular glasses. On both occasions, I was met with friendly, knowledgeable and very professional staff. Thanks to Jacey for the help with the sunglasses - the progressives work great & thanks to Victoria for the adjustment - I can now read properly! :)
Highly recommend ???? the doctors and staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
I am a diabetic patient and my family doctor recommended family vision for my eye exams covered by MSI. I have already made a couple of visits and became family visions registered patient. I received a letter from their office informing that my check up is due. An appointment was given for the 26th of July. When I reached the clinic I was asked to pay a fees of $129. I mentioned about by MSI coverage And if they like can check with my family doctor who practices next door. They insisted that either I pay or come next year as MSI only covers once in every 2 years. If this was the case why was I not informed of the fee involved in the letter sent to me or the phone call made to me. The two staff ladies were having this conversation with me while I was waiting in the waiting area with other patient listening.( No confidentiality). This to me was very awkward and embarrassing so I took an appointment for the next day and left. I did some research online and contacted Costco for an eye exam. They not only fitted me in the same afternoon, checked my health card ,I was covered by MSI. The only payment was $20 for the eye photos. MSI confirmed that if a letter was sent to me by the family vision clinic indicating that I am due for an eye exam it should have been covered and that I need to get an explanation as to why this happened. I am really disappointed by the way I was treated by family vision (lacewood Branch). The reason for writing this review is to make sure that the information given to patients is correct and this kind of attitude and behavior should not be extended to any other patient in future.
I had the best experience at this location. The staff were so helpful and kind. I am very happy with my glasses. The staff took her time with helping me find the right fit for my face. I get compliments everyday at work. People ask me where I got my glasses all the time. They were affordable and I didn’t have to call my health insurance it was all taken care of. I had my glasses within 2 weeks during the Covid peak times. They were very professional and followed Covid protocols. I felt safe during the entire process, I can’t wait to go back and get fitted for sun glasses.
A couple of weeks ago I was having great difficulty with sensitivity to light and worried that it might be really serious. When I called my eye doctor of many years, I heard a recording that the offices were "closed indefinitely". A very helpful staff member of the optometrist department at Costco advised that the doctors were booked for the next few weeks but recommended two nearby clinics. I called Family Vision early the next day [Saturday] and explained my fears and they were able to fit me in a few hours later! Dr. Miriam Debly was so understanding. She did a number of tests and discovered I had extremely dry eyes. She prescribed a few things to try which helped immediately. I've seen her since and she suggested a couple of additional treatments. All I've had to pay for at the office so far was the photos of my eyes and a heat mask - about $40. Am I pleased - you bet!
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I had a great experience there!
Denise and Jacey were great with contact lense training. Highly recommend!
EDIT: the clinic’s response to my review has absolutely nothing to do with my complaints. I do not have diabetes. They are assuming I am a different patient. The optometrists seem good and knowledgeable, but I have never experienced a more disorganized office system. They have repeatedly cancelled and moved my appointments without contacting me. I will not be returning next year and will find a different optometrist
Absolutely fantastic. 45 years old first set of glasses ever and I love'em. Family vision centers staff went obove and beyond to make sure these glasses were perfect for me. Highly recommended. Seeing is believing. After 2 years family vision has gone above and beyond to excell in customer service.. I will never go any place any place else.. Thank you family vision center
Drove to the clinic twice to pick up my glasses on days they are suppose to be open until 7pm. Got here at 5:30 both times and the door was locked. I even called to confirm the hours before my 1st attempt. They dont respect the hours they post or communicate. Unreliable. Will pick up my glasses and never come back hear again.
Had an amazing experience! Dr. Killoran took great care of me, I had an eye infection from wearing contacts & was worried about the repercussions but she looked at my eyes (more thoroughly than my previous eye doctor) & gave me advice on how to avoid getting it in the future & sent me on my way within 30 minutes of entering the place. Definitely someone who loves their job & loves helping people!
Professional and friendly service!
The administrative staff of this clinic is terrible! My husband asked for a report to be sent to the doctor who requested the exam and he gave all the necessary information and the deadline to do so. They didn't send it and caused him enormous damage, as the report was part of an important process for his professional career. It's been 5 days from the deadline and so far they haven't sent it. Don't trust the staff at this clinic! They don't have any commitments.
Good quality highly recommended
My 3 and a half year old daughter was diagnosed with Strabismus and has been seen regularly by the doctors at the IWK since 2019. At her last appointment in June we were given a new prescription with bifocals. This prescription would be the determining factor on whether or not my daughter will require surgery to fix her eyes. The doctor requested we see them again in 3 months for a follow up. We went to FYI at the Clayton park location and my daughter picked her new frames and we submitted her prescription. Two weeks later and they arrive but fail the inspection. There is a rush put on the glasses at this point. Another three weeks pass before the glasses finally come in. When the clinic called me to let me know the glasses were in I was told that I would have to wait nearly another week before I could even pick them up as they now only operate by appointment. After expressing how frustrated I was after already waiting 5 weeks we were told we could pick up the glasses curb side. We decided to have the glasses adjusted at the Larry Uteck location as I was extremely unhappy with my service at the Clayton park location. Once there, we are told that the bifocals are too low on the glasses. The frames are too small for her particular prescription. They couldn’t believe how long it took for her glasses to come in. So once again we have to have new glasses ordered in. I sent off an email to the Clayton park location to let them know what I had learned from the Larry uteck location. Their response to my email was that it will be taken as a lesson learned and will make sure it doesn’t happen again. Not the response I was expecting. Later on that evening I was taking my daughters glasses off before bed and the temple completely broke off the frames. Now my daughter once again has to wear her old glasses and her eye therapy set back. This is so totally unacceptable and I see no attempts from the company to resolve these issues other than it being a “lesson learned”.
Great staff great experience
I got my new glasses here. Good quality. Staffs are friendly and knowledgeable.
My 26 month old daughter had an eye exam appointment scheduled here. Her face was covered by a mask on most of the times and there were few instances when she pulled off her mask while playing in the waiting area. Both my wife and I were repeatedly shouted at by the Receptionists from their desk that our daughter has removed the mask. Shortly after, one of the Receptionists accused our daughter that on three occasions she has noticed that the mask has slipped off from our daughter's face. She rudely told us since our 26 month old daughter is having problems with always keeping the mask on her face, lets reschedule the appointment to a different date. How is scheduling the appointment to a different date going to help my daughter learn what is covid19 and why she needs to wear a mask? The front desk receptionists should be trained how to be courteous, understanding and how to treat children. I can't imagine how they pointed out and accused a 2 year old. We left the store without doing the exam as who knows how rude the receptionists will behave if we'd stayed longer. Very good Doctors, but equally rude and ill-mannered front desk receptionists. A place to avoid if one visits with infants and toddlers.
As with other reviewers, my appointment was cancelled. I will not be rescheduling with this clinic! I will try another clinic that values their patient's time.
great selection, great staff, I have been going for years, I thought everyone saw a little blurry, thanks to them, I see clearly now!!!
I booked an eye exam with the Family Vision Clinic Clayton Park because they were the only clinic that could squeeze me in on short notice. I arrived at the clinic today and was greeted by a friendly receptionist who then turned me over to Dr. Marni Denman. Dr. Marni Denman was very pleasant, thorough, direct, and was fantastic at her job. It's very clear that Dr Denman has a passion for her job. Despite their being roughly 10 clinics between my home and this clinic, I will be returning to Family Vision in Clayton Park because of my great experience today.
I was seriously undiagnosed and sent on my way. If I hadn’t gone to see another eye doctor somewhere else I could have lost my vision in one eye.
Such a fantastic appointment! So grateful for the help given to my wife by Miriam Debly and information about the type of Nero lenses that will help with her migraines, seriously thank you. Also big shout out to Victoria with walking us through all of the info and options, she’s the best!! -Kourtney and Julia
Booked 4 appointments for my kids. After driving and hour and being very agitated with their insistence if our 1 year old didn't wear a mask at all times we would be kicked out they tried to add a $40 charge onto each appointment after the fact. Never going here again. Complete waste of a day. Edit. After complaints from my wife they called us back and did the exam without the extra $40 charge, and the doctor was very nice, but the opening to the day was very bad. I've updated my score slightly.
