I went here for my first eye exam in years, and my first ever pair of glasses. The staff was very professional and patient with me - I highly recommend them. Ariel and Ben were great and made my experience quite pleasant. Highly recommend this place.

I am really not sure why it took me so long to switch from this horrendous optometrist but them charging me for a service that is covered under NS Health was the last straw. Dr Maillet and Dr Dolman are some of the most condescending and uncaring people I have ever had the misfortune to interact with. I was there two weeks ago with an eye infection, when I arrived the receptionist told me I would have to pay as I had gone over my limit for partials that would be covered under MSI, I was surprised to hear this and started questioning as to what the limit and timeframes where etc. The receptionist immediately became uncomfortable unable to answer my question (now I know it was because they were lying) and said "the doctor knows what she is doing". I then asked Dr Maillet when she entered the room and she told me that I had gone over my limit and that it was not calendar year. After the appt the receptionist was so incredibly rude and unhelpful that it would take me a whole other paragraph to explain how terrible she was. I then resolved that I had had enough of their attitudes and stopped into the Optometrist's office by my house to make a follow up appt there. The experience was 100 times better and it was there that I found out MSI will cover 6 partials in A CALENDAR YEAR therefore it being the beginning of the year, that service that I just paid for was covered. Charging me for a service that I, as a tax paying citizen am entitled to under NS Health, is fraud and I will be making a complaint to the BBB. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere, there are some truly lovely Drs out there, you will not find them here.

I've been to almost every eye clinic in Halifax and this one is hands down my favourite for multiple reasons. The staff is always courteous and professional when I am there - be it for a check up or a repair I've needed for my glasses. They are knowledgable and always willing to help. Dr. Chow was excellent during my eye exam, he was friendly and calming. The price for frames and lens is another reason I choose to purchase my glasses here. The frames were priced similarly to what I have seen in other eye clinics, but they had the buy one get one free going on. My lens were significantly cheaper than the quotes I had received in other clinics, so overall once I picked my frames and lens I was able to go back and get a pair of prescription sunglasses completely free. I cannot recommend this clinic more - I would give it more than 5 stars if possible.

***DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU CAN HELP IT*** I have to completely change my opinion. I referred others to hear and they also have now had bad experiences. Originally my experience was good but after the fact for up keep and customer service has been horrendous. I'm actually at the location now to get my frames that were ordered under warranty and apparently the only person who knows about this is the one who set up the appointment and told me to be there today. But they aren't even in because the person in the store couldn't find anything under my name. Maybe covid caused this place to forget what professionalism is. You can't cost double then everywhere else and be worse.

Needless to say, this was definitely the right choice (and ultimately a saving grace decision) for such an important step in my life! As a newcomer, I found that both the pace of the visit and the service were smooth and timely. My experience with the optometrist was refreshingly straightforward and honest. Without Ariel's enthusiastic help during the wait periods, I could not have taken a new-found liking towards a pair of unique frames that helped me feel extra confident. Just had my eye exam after 2 years with Eyes On Lacewood. I was greeted with a big smile and lots of great customer service from Ariel who works the front end of the store. Her welcoming attitude and warm smile made me feel at ease, especially during this global pandemic where rules and health protocols can cause a great deal of anxiety. Ariel was informative and had an excellent command of the products and procedures for Eyes On Lacewood. Once she was done, I had my eye exam with Dr. French, who is great. Worst after sale service I have ever encountered. Repairs take months longer than the "about a week", quoted time. I wasted multiple trips to pick up gasses that were "ready", but in reality were not. Good thing I spent well over $1000 to get two pair, because my main glasses were away for repairs almost as much as they were on my face the first two years. Next time I require glasses I will go elsewhere.

I was so distracted by my ineligibility for lasik this checkup that I forgot to mention contacts refitting (any good optometrist would have noticed that I wear them occasionally from my file like every past doc I've had). I called back to ask for a contact fitting appointment but was told that I would have to pay up front for the optometrist to pick out some trials for me. In my 20 years of wearing contacts., I have NEVER had to pre-pay for a service!!! Even the Bedford location said this was odd, but couldn't squeeze me in before the weekend. And to top it all off, I was told she was too busy and might not get to it for a week or so! I immediately went to Costco where I got excellent service, a great price, and amazing fit on contacts.

I had an excellent experience with the staff at Eyes on Lakewood. I was in Halifax on business and had forgotten to pack my glasses. It had been a year since my last eye exam and several since I got new glasses, so I was due. I phoned the store and explained my situation to Ben and Katie. They were able to get me in for an exam the next day and assured me they could expedite my order. I arrived for my appointment, and was overwhelmed by how well the staff worked together to get me quickly in and out. Within 45 minutes I had been admitted by Katie, fully examined by Dr Chow, picked frames with the assistance of Ben and been measured by Kristin. 24 hours later, my single vision glasses were ready. They fit perfectly and allowed me to see without over-extending my contact lens wear. I understand that this kind of service can't be assured for everyone, but I really appreciate that everyone at the store pitched in to get my replacement glasses done quickly. I will happily recommend Eyes on Lakewood to my coworkers.

Nothing like having glasses that need a quick repair from the place you bought them on a Friday morning only to find out that they won't let you in the store even for a repair without an appointment that's not available until at least the following Monday.... Sure I guess my wife will just go without glasses for the weekend. Won't be dealing with this business again if this is how they're handling things.

I went to Eyes on Lacewood simply because it’s very close to my house. I was very impressed with the overall level of service I got there. Ben was great over the phone when I called to book an appointment. Dr. French was very professional and seemed to do a pretty thorough exam very efficiently. Lastly Katie and Ben helped me get a couple nice pairs of glasses for a good price and had me laughing a chatting the whole time. I don’t often review places but I was very impressed with Eyes on Lacewood and I’ll go back, even if I have to travel much further next time.

Please don't visit this place if you are not a native English speaker. I am afriad that you would be treated like me.I am very disappointed with EyesOn Lacewood. I got eye exam last Staturday with a femail Optometrist Dr. Julie Maillet. She did not explain anything about what I got tested, the results of test are, and I am going to get test more on another date. She just told me I need to change my glasses and visit another branch near airport for glocoma testing. That's it. I did not have any test result from her. They just booked for Visual filed and OCT without my consent. I also asked one of respresentative about what's the result of the test and what are Visual Field and OCT tests, but she did not provide any informaton and asked me to choose lenses and frame. As a non native English speaker, I feel something like discrimination.

First time i went there everything went well, got my glasses no issues. When i was due for a new pair i went there again, what a mistake. My regular glasses came back and there was something wrong with them. That's fine it can happen. My sunglasses the polarization was uneven, some spots are darker than others and some spots the polarization coating doesn't work. I pointed it out and they sent my glasses back to the manufacture. A week or so later they came back and Eyes on Lacewood told me that the manufacture said it was normal. I told them that is unacceptable. They told me that they would call the manufacture... fine. A few days later they called amd said that there is nothing they can do. They didn't apologized or try to give me a discount. Angry i decided to to to a competitor. I showed them my glasses and asked them if they could see anything wrong with my sunglasses and the first thing they told me is the polarization coating was defective and that i should bring them back to Eyes on Lacewood. I told them i had and that they said they couldn'd do anything about it. They were shocked when i said that. They said that is how you loose customers. Needless to say i won't be going back there again. Good service if there is nothing wrong with your glasses when you go pick them up but if something is wrong when they arrive, you might as well throw them in the garbage and walk away because they won't help you.

Most irresponsible staff that I have ever seen. After my daughter's eye exam, I dropped her frame for changing the glasses and after a month when followed up they didn't have anything in records. After continuous follow ups for tracking the frame, I had to go to store as they weren't responding on call and then they found the frame in the lot that was for sale. The worst thing I did is trusting them again after 1.5 months of wait. They took the order and told they will expediate the glasses this time and give us in a week. After 3 weeks of follow up, they now say they didn't place the order yet and might take another 2 weeks. My poor kid is managing with old prescription glasses for more than 2 months. Maybe not buying frame from them is what caused this negligence. Never going back again.

The very very worst eye care centre in halifax. It’s completely medical negligence, honestly I want to file a case against them but I don’t have time for all this. I was late for 5 minutes and they cancelled my appointment. When the staff try to give same day another appointment, another staff refused it.I was having severe eye pain and blurred vision. I waited for two weeks to get this appointment. If I would knew , this is the worst eye care centre I would never come here.it’s so pathetic. May be they are racist because I am a foreigner. They should give importance to the patients instead of checking two or five minutes late.may be this negligence could create a severe problem for the patient. Anyway I suggest not to visit this place you can visit better place somewhere else.I deeply request this eye care not to do the same with someone else. Thanks

They sorted out some miscommunications about my eye exam and successfully troubleshot my health insurance in their system so I got a discount. I don't normally expect to have a good laugh when I go to the optometrist, they are a great team of people! I switched from Mumford to make sure I am seen by Dr. French, an exceptional and thorough optometrist I have seen for years.

After going to a few other eye clinics, I decided to try Eyes On Lacewood. I'm incredibly indecisive and especially where these were my first pair of glasses. I had to go back to this location on three occasions to pick out a pair that I liked. They had a great selection of eyeglasses and sunglasses. Ben and Katie were there to help each time I went back. They were very patient, honest and knowledgeable during the entire process. They are fantastic with customers. I will definitely be back to this location!

I dont want excuses and these people have many, i want a job done well. 7 weeks my mom has waited for glasses and the fact Lynn hung up during a conversation is beyond disgraceful. Personally i'd rather go blind than have my eyes checked or get new lenses from these clowns. It was all I could do to even give them 1 star. I sincerely encourage any staff member from Eyes on Lacewood to comment to this post. See if you guys can comment without screwing that up!!

I booked an appointment here as it was close to my home. I went in this morning, and it was honestly a really good experience, the staff was extremely friendly, and knowledgeable, Ben greeted me and got things started, he was pleasant and efficient, Dr Maillet was lovely and my exam went smoothly. After my exam Ariel was wonderful and answered all of my questions and helped me figure out the right frames for my budget. This was the single best experience I've had at an optometry office in my life, andI would recommend this location to everyone.

The reception and sales team also worked very well together. I had the pleasure of interacting with Myrna, Ben and Kristin. Very unprofessional they booked my appointment and never mentioned that I was supposed to be 10 minutes early for the appointment. I was 5 minutes late and they told me to re schedule. No place does that. When I mentioned to the person at the front desk that how come this was not mentioned to me when I booked my appointment that I was supposed to come early she acknowledged her mistake but never apologized. if it wasn't for Lynn I never would've returned after my very negative experience at the Lacewood store. I dealt with a girl who was unprofessional and I left feeling so frustrated I said I would never return to that location and would go to their Mumford store to avoid her. When I walked in at the Mumford store, she was now working there so I left just as irritated and went to Lacewood right away. Lynn was nothing less than AMAZING and treated me like I was the only one she was concerned about (there was another person waiting to see her as well so she must be doing something right). So many thanks to Lynn and you have a customer for life with me with her there.

What a pleasant and efficient experience! Emily was super helpfull in getting me set up with some new glasses. She knew who I was when I walked in the door (I did have an appointment) and had several samples already picked out for me to look at. Positive and honest opinions of how the frames looks on me was very refreshing. Finally the processing of my order and measurements was done very well. I cannot tell you how lovely this visit was, but I will try. I walk in, the lady at the front was a delight. The Optometrist was a delight. Ben, the man helping me with finding the right fit for my face, was fantastic.
