I don't know where I would be today without Dr. Quaid and his team! I was diagnosed with a convergence insufficiency by another doctor and told there was nothing that could be done. Within minutes of meeting Dr. Quaid he made me feel understood and gave me hope that I would be able to live a normal life. After months of vision therapy I was able to read novels again without any strain, something that I wasn't able to do in over 10 years! This team not only gave me my vision but also confidence.
Great people to work with and great success. They explain everything in detail as to why they do the exercises they ask you to do and how it helps your overall health and vision.
I got referred here by my sons teacher who thought that my son could benefit from vision therapy. I am so happy with the service everyone is so amazing always willing to help and answer any questions that you may have. Such an amazing Team!
I've been playing telephone tag with Mandi for 2 months. It takes her a week or more to reply. I'd return her call right away, but couldn't get through so I'd leave another message. In my voicemail messages I'd ask - if I didn't pick up to "when" she called back - could she please leave a date and time that would be convenient for me to call her. Instead she left her email address and said I should email my questions to her. I then left another message saying that based on what she'd say in reply to my questions I would probably have follow-up questions. For that reason I'd prefer to talk with her. We never did connect.
Very informative, great at answering our questions and helpful examples to support our understanding. We look forward to working with them further.
My daughter started showing signs of eye problems at age 3, and I had a very hard time getting anyone to take her issues seriously. I found VUE Cubed Vision Therapy and Dr. Quaid through Google, and she was assessed with extreme far sightedness and next to no 3D vision. She started therapy sessions at age 4; the program was modified to her developmental level, and breaks were incorporated to allow her to mature before moving on to the next phase. She loved all of the therapists she worked with, who were also great at explaining to us the at-home exercises. Dr. Quaid was an especially strong support when we were having difficulties with her school as a result of her vision troubles. After four years, she has graduated from the program with strong depth perception and tracking, whereas without therapy she likely would have lost vision in one of her eyes. We are all very grateful to Dr. Quaid and his team.
Appreciate any Doctor that will tell you they don't know and there's nothing they can do to help. Dr Cunningham was extremely thorough, friendly, and competent. He was genuinely discouraged knowing he wasn't able to help but offered to reach out to colleagues. Was worth my time and I would recommend to anyone.
One of our children has been attending this clinic for vision therapy since July 2020. Their progress has been steady and for the last few months they are finally at a point that they can sit and read chapter books without tiring and getting frustrated. They are excited to have finished the therapy today and we appreciate the work the therapist and drs have done to keep us moving forward.
I had vision issues due to a childhood concussion that went undiagnosed for years. I had a prism in one lens that was supposed to correct for my vision problems, but it was just a crutch. My brain needed to learn how to see properly again and Dr.Quaid and his staff were able to help me accomplish this. I now read much faster, spend less time re-focusing and my distance perception is much better. I also noticed that I have less anxiety and a much longer fuse. I used to be tired and grumpy at the end of the day from all the visual processing I had to do. This was definitely a learning experience for me. I had no clue my visual cortex was out of whack and I sure am glad VUE could help me fix it. Life is a lot better now! :)
I was first introduced to Vue3 by someone who brought their son for vision therapy and thought perhaps my son had the same issue. My son was having trouble in grade 1 with several behaviours that could have pointed to ADHD. Dr. Quaid was able to quickly identify that he had retained primitive reflexes (the first time I had heard of such a thing) and that one specifically would need to be integrated before switching to vision therapy. He went for about 12 months (cut slightly short due to covid closures) with 3 follow up appointments with Dr Quaid every 6 months after it ended. We have just completed those appointments and are happy to say that he doesn't need any more vision therapy! I am beyond grateful for my experience with Dr. Quaid and the Vue Cubed team for getting my son on a path to better visual health! Thank you!
Always top notch. They make you comfortable, appointments are never rushed. They ensure you always understand progress, setbacks and treatment plan options. Highly recommend for anyone who requires this type of treatment.
Amazing people. They have been helping our daughter out for along time now and we have had excellent results . Highly recommended
Dr Quaid is a top expert in his field. He has completely transformed the lives of 2 of my sons by helping them train their brains to be able to use their eyes and learn to their maximum ability. His team in incredible. They are kind, friendly, and highly professional. Thank you Vue3 team for everything you have done for our family!
Dr Quaid and his staff are amazing! Not only does he listen he answers questions using language we can understand. Its not all about the money, he genuinely cares about his patients.
I continue to learn so much from the process of vision therapy. Like any activity involving exercise, diligence and practise, the pay offs of vision therapy far exceed any set of simple results. The positive effects to my health outweigh the cost significantly. Highly recommended. Period.
Excellent Doctor! Fantastic Staff. I saw reading difficulties with my son and had searched for answers to no avail until we saw Dr. Quaid. Everything he explained made complete sense. In the first 6 weeks of treatment my son's reading.level increased 3 levels! Now he reads with ease above grade level. The care and therapy has changed my son's life. Highly recommend.
My daughter was complaining of headaches, concentration and vision issues at school. The optometrist felt she had no issues and didn’t need anything. Finally a mild prescription was issued anyway. The glasses didn’t help however so I took her to Vue Cubed Vision Therapy in Guelph where they did much more extensive testing. Approximately 8 months of weekly eye exercises and not only are her headaches and vision issues gone but she no longer needs glasses. Her focus at school is stronger as her eyes no longer are strained. This week was her last session and she was super sad it was over as the staff are beyond great and fun and she will miss her sessions!!! Highly recommend this therapy, worth every penny!
We have just begun our journey of vision therapy with our son. Everyone we have dealt with has been amazing, patient and extremely informative. We are excited to begin and feel very confident that everyone is going to offer my son the best treatments and he will benefit immensely. He can not wait to go back! Thank you.
I have never felt more ripped off and ‘taken in’ by a company such as this one. $550 for 2 in-office appts, to tell us what we already knew. Then to top it off, order glasses that we were told to get, have an “online meeting” with Mandy who is in her home, animals barking, kids interrupting, all while we are supposed to have a “professional” meeting - anything but. The part where we felt completely duped, all the while being led down this promising rabbit hole - I finally cut Mandy off her ongoing “fluff” to get to the bottom line…HOW MUCH for therapy to help our child. Over $8000 was our therapy proposal, along with weekly 45 min appts for almost a year. I have no problem doing what I have to do for our child to have corrected vision, but this place gets you in and DOES NOT DISCLOSE ALL INFORMATION UP FRONT. I would have never paid $550 and ordered glasses if I knew this would be their “proposal”. I’m am thoroughly disgusted. I recommend getting FULL DISCLOSURE first before proceeding regarding all costs involved and also shopping around at other specialists to see comparatively what they’re all about. I feel complete ripped off and hoodwinked.
My son was diagnosed by a psychologist with a cognitive processing disorder and I was told there was not much that could be done to help him. His psych ed assessment and vision therapy assessment both ranked him in the 5th percentile overall. Almost to the week, one year later, my son finished his last therapy session today testing in the 81st percentile overall. I could cry. I highly recommend this therapy. Staff and Dr. Quaid are fantastic. Tip: go to every appointment and do all your homework as assigned.
I suffered a head injury in August of 2018 which later developed into post concussion syndrome. I went through physiotherapy, which was helpful in addressing the physical trauma, however it did not resolve many of the symptoms I was experiencing. My anxiety was significantly increased, I had panic attacks for the first time in my life, I couldn't tolerate busy environments, constant brain fog and inability to focus, reduced short term memory, sore eyes, etc. The experience highlighted how poorly concussions are understood by the general medical community - and that more needs to be done to make sure people suffering have access to the kind of therapy provided by VUE3 Vision Therapy. After being told I was fine by my family doctor, an opthalmologist, that it's "what I make of it" by a well intentioned therapist, I was beginning to worry I would have to accept these symptoms as my new normal. Fortunately in an email exchange with another physio clinic it was recommended that I pursue the help of a FCOVD certified optometrist. This led me to discover Dr. Quaid and his amazing team at VUE3 Vision Therapy. In April of 2019 I met with Dr. Quaid, who diagnosed the dysfunctional aspects of my visual system caused by the concussion and started me on the process of rehabilitation. I attended weekly therapy sessions at the clinic with supplemental home activities - adherence to the home activities is key to quickening your recovery! By December 2019 I had finished my therapy and was feeling back to my normal self. This is a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Quaid and the VUE3 team, thanks to you I was able to get my life back - that's a debt I can't repay.
What an amazing place! The staff is awesome and so helpful. Came here because I was having dizzy spells was off work for over a year had a hard time even walking without feeling like I was gonna fall over. And had a hard time seeing and remembering things I was doing. They helped me with vision therapy. Was a long process and hard work but in the end it all paid off. I feel like I got my life back thanks too all the staff and doctors.
Vision therapy has made measurable improvements.
I had called here numerous times, over the course of a weeks period, after receiving a referral. Each time I called, no one answered and it was sent to voicemail. I left messages without anyone calling me back. Go somewhere else if you don’t have time to wait for someone to answer the phone or call you back..... I am still waiting!
I was at a loss of trying to find someone in the medical field to help me with my post concussion symptoms. I finally came across VUE3 Guelph Eye Vision Therapy and gave them a call. They were so friendly and accommodating on the phone I immediately felt better and made an appointment for the initial assessment. I signed up for the year therapy. 56 weeks later I have completed my full year plus a month of Vision Therapy and my eyeballs feel great ! The staff and all of the therapists at VUE3 are very kind, patient and extremely knowledgable. They helped me along my journey encouraging me and comforting me along the way. I felt understood and validated with what I was feeling and going through. Thankyou to all the VUE3 staff and doctors for all of your help and encouragement over the year ! I am extremely happy and pleased with the therapy I received. And I know this will help me moving forward in the future. Thanks again VUE3
I suffered a brain injury in what seemed like a minor car accident, I didn't hit my head or lose consciousness. I had several issues that would not resolve - light sensitivity, headaches/blurriness when reading, I couldn't handle busy environments etc... These issues greatly affected my life. I couldn't work, drive, shop, listen to music, tolerate overhead lights etc... everything depleted my brain and my energy. After over a year of trying various treatments to get better and being told by more than one - so called professionals - that I would just have to learn to live with these issues and accept it as my "new normal" - I was told about Guelph Vision Therapy Center now known as VUE Cubed. They changed my Life! Some key things that they determined from my assessment were that I had lost a lot of my peripheral vision and that my brain couldn't make one image of what my two eyes were seeing so it just suppressed / cut out what one of the eyes was seeing. These issues were causing so many symptoms that no one else could explain. I want to point out that I was not aware that I had lost peripheral vision or that my brain was suppressing what one eye saw - I just had a wonky feeling and didn't know why. I began once a week vision therapy sessions and did about 5-10 minutes of daily vision therapy exercises at home. I am so Happy to say that over the course of 11 months I gradually improved and all of my vision / brain processing issues have resolved! I would highly recommend VUE Cubed Vision Therapy to anyone with unresolved issues following a brain injury. Dr. MacKenzie and my vision therapist were very knowledgeable & friendly - they explained my symptoms & the exercises in a way that I could understand and they helped me to resolve my issues and be me again. I can't Thank them enough for giving me my Life back!
My son’s Occupational Therapist recommended we come to this clinic for his reading difficulties, I called to book an appointment and the receptionist told me that “Mandi” books the appointments and that I should hear from her in a week or so. The receptionist even told me to just call in again if Mandi hasn’t called me within one week..?? ..A week later Mandi called and left a message asking me to call back. I called back right away and had to leave a message. Another week went by and she finally called me again, I was able to answer and actually talk to her this time. Unfortunately it seemed like she was doing 10 different things while talking to me, she was all over the place, constantly forgetting what she was talking about, she kept sighing and saying it had been a long day, she even cursed because she dropped something or spilled something, it was just ridiculous. It was bad enough It took two weeks to get in touch with someone there but then the poor customer service made me choose to look elsewhere.
Today I graduated after nine months of Vision Therapy at VUE Cubed Vision Therapy Clinic. I suffered a concussion in October 2018 which caused my brain and visual system to not work well together. I've been off work because of the concussion and my "job" has been to attend weekly Vision Therapy Sessions and do the daily homework. The team at VUE has been amazing. They are knowledgeable, caring professionals who all worked together to create the best plan for me every week. They challenged me and encouraged me. Special thanks to my primary Vision Therapist Janine and Dr. Dan Cunningham who guided the therapy. I'm so grateful for all they have done to help me recover from my concussion. When you are recovering from a concussion you can feel discouraged. Vision Therapy gives you hope for a better brain and better future.
I spoke to Daniel on the phone to make this appointment. He was very knowledgeable and gave many details of the process. He took the time to answer my many questions. I then brought my daughter to see Dr Rutman. She took the time to explain all aspects of the tests and results. She was very personable and patient. Post testing we spoke with Mandy, who was eager to explain the results with detail and passion that we not only understood how this therapy would help our daughter, but we learned that vision therapy is very important for many people. We wish we found this clinic sooner.
Dr. Quaid is the best doctor I've ever had. I was having headaches and/or migraines every day before I started my therapy. I had brain fog and felt exhausted trying to process information at work and home every day. I had been suffering from post-concussion syndrome since 2016 with minimal progress. After working with Dr. Quaid's team this past year, my headaches have been greatly reduced to an average of 1/mo. My brain is back to fully processing information and I feel like I've finally "waken up" to the world again. Dr. Quaid has a teacher's heart and is excellent at easily and clearly explaining why I was feeling the way I was, what the issues were, and the roadmap to recovery. He was confident, resourceful, patient, and kind, and was able to empathize with my situation. I would highly recommend anyone to him!
Mandy and the whole crew at Vue3 have been great! Today, my diagnoses and treatment plan with first steps and long-term goals were explained thoroughly with no rushing. Mandy was very friendly and adjusted based on information I raised etc. Thanks so much!
I highly recommend Guelph Vision Therapy Centre as I had recently suffered a head injury and my vision was disrupted as my eyes could not coordinate properly together. It is not an overnight process to correct but the amazaing staff has been very helpful in assisting me to correct it.
We have been coming to this clinic since 2014. The staff are lovely and helpful, the therapists are knowledgeable and great with both of my kids and the doctors are amazing.
