Dr. Vettivelu was very knowledgeable and took her time when explaining everything she was checking for and seeing. She went above and beyond the basic examination. I always felt as if I was being rushed out of the office at my previous optometrist office. The staff were not pushy and I did not feel pressured to make them a sale. I did end up getting a new pair of glasses and sunglasses that I absolutely love! It was paid through my insurance without any hassle. I would highly recommend this clinic! Thanks for everything!

A wonderful experience. The receptionists are lovely and polite over the phone and just as lovely in person. My daughter is almost one and we recently had her first appointment, as well as my and my husband's routine eye exam. Dr. Vettivelu was so patient and sweet with my daughter and was very thorough with all of our exams.

I went in today for a routine eye exam today. I did not have any problems with Dr. Parthipan, who was nice, although I was a very easy case. However, I gave my insurance to the receptionist fifteen minutes before the appointment, and asked her to verify that it was covered by them. I was only told afterwards that my insurance did not cover the appointment and she just nonchalantly handed me the bill. I came early expressly for that reason and was clear about it as well. I did not appreciate being forced to pay when I could have gone somewhere else or made adjustments to my insurance plan if needed. When I expressed this concern with the receptionist, she just ignored my comments and asked if my payment would be by visa. If you want to build a customer base, I highly suggest you iron out wrinkles like this in your operations. People don't hand you insurance cards when they are prepared out of pocket, and you have a duty to do due diligence, instead of being primarily concerned with billing.

She referred us to the ER, and we ended up in the McMaster Children’s Hospital on the same day, with our son being hospitalized. Dr. Vettivelu saved my son's life. There are no words to describe how thankful we are. Dr. Vettivelu is more than an expert in her field and Guelph is happy to have her working here.

My 3 year old son and I went to see Dr Vettivelu and had a phenomenal visit. From the moment we were greeted at the door, my normally shy son was at ease. Everyone in the office was friendly and welcoming. The exam itself was made into games which my son thought were "awesome" and "so much fun". I am sure that this positive experience will help to ease any apprehension he has going into future medical appointments. Dr Vettivelu was extremely thorough in both our exams and took the time to explain what she was looking for as well as our results. Her exam not only included the health of our eyes and vision but also looked for indication of potential other health concerns. I would absolutely recommend trusting your eye care to Dr Vettivelu.

Dr. Vettivelu was great! Kind and thorough. Altogether a great experience, until I received an unexpected call a week later. It was a call saying my prescription sunglasses had arrived. I did not order any glasses though. During the eye exam, the optometrist wanted to dilate my pupils so that she would be able to do a better assessment. She put in the drops and I needed to wait for 5-10 minutes for the full effect. During that time, she suggested I take a look at the glasses and sunglasses in the other room. My prescription had only slightly changed, not significant enough to need new glasses. An employee showed me some sunglasses and I tried on a pair that I liked. She went through pricing and what insurance would likely cover. That's as far as we went though. I considered it, but it was too expensive and I knew I would be able to get a better deal somewhere else. My eyes were dilated enough to continue the exam so I left the other employee. When the exam was finished I did not go back to confirm any orders or give credit card information. I assumed that they would not continue with the order or put the order through. That is why I was surprised to get the call saying that "my order" had arrived. I spoke with them for a while about the mistake, was put on hold several times, and was told I would be called back later that day. They refused to return the sunglasses and refund my insurance because it was a "custom order". I would need to go to the office and pay whatever insurance was not able to cover otherwise they would just be losing money. To make matters worse, as I had already mentioned, I knew I would be able to get a better deal somewhere else, which is what I had already done. I ordered 2 pairs of glasses online for less than half of what I was quoted for the single pair of prescription sunglasses. I had committed to the online option, made the payment and submitted an insurance claim (has not yet been processed). Update: about an hour after leaving I received a call from the office. The eye doctor agreed to grant a refund for the outstanding balance that I needed to pay. Thank you.

Dr. Parthipan is not only very friendly and knowledgeable but it truly shows how much she genuinely cares about her patients. She doesn't rush through the appointment, takes the time to go through options, and is very thorough in her examination, and has state of the art technology. Plus she remembered small details I mentioned from my last appointment 2 years ago...very impressed!

I was a bit hesitant to come here after I read some of the reviews, but I kept my appointment. This was hands down the best experience I’ve ever had getting an eye exam or purchasing glasses. The eye exam was so comprehensive. I have leaned more about my eyes in this visit than I have had in my last 3 exam eyes combined. I can actually see properly now! Purchasing glasses is normally not a great experience- here it was amazing. Everyone was so helpful, kind and patient. I got a new pair that I love! There was also a ton to choose from. I would highly recommend this place! I will be back, as their service was impeccable! Direct billing was done no problem! Everything was ready for pick up super quick. Just amazing job team! Thank you so much for your assistance!

I asked for new lenses in my sunglasses as they were scratched and frames were fine. Frames were lost in shipping and they made me pay 30$ for new frames. How is it my fault they lost the frames. Should have been free. I was going to get a 2nd pair there but will be going elsewhere. They could have made a lot more than 30$ off a 2nd pair and repeat business. Would not recommend this place
