I just had Refractive Lensectomy TORIC done on both eyes and over the 3 month period of time from first contact with the Herzig Eye Institute (Ottawa) to the surgery and follow-up aftercare it has been nothing but seamlessly professional, exceptionally effective and wonderfully caring. The entire Ottawa team exudes the mantra of "client first care". So this is a shout out to Sarah (front desk), Joanna, RN, Darcy, RN, Michaela, PSR, Marianne, RPN, Melanie, RPN, Dr. Rastogi, Dr. Thompson and Dr. Baig... and all others of the Herzig Ottawa team who have touchpoints with the client - thank you, not only for what you do, but more importantly - how you do it with excellence and care and the client at the fore front. I am beyond impressed with the early results ... you all contribute to the miracle working effects of providing the gift of sight to this world :) As a client, you had me at "hello" (your point of entry) and consistently built my trust throughout the entire process. Had laser eye surgery (SMILE procedure) performed here in July 2020, and couldn't be happier with the results. The team at Herzig is very professional, and my surgeon (Dr. Baig) was great to work with pre-, during, and post-surgery. Highly recommend Herzig for laser eye surgery.

I had single eye cataract surgery in Jun 2021 in Ottawa, by Dr. Saama Sabeti, still during the pandemic. I was not even fifty years old when I pretty much lost a vision on my left eye due to the cataract. But what can you do? I was referred to Ottawa hospital by an optician, waited for the hospital call that never came (to this day). So, as disappointed and frustrated as I could be (try to be a computer programmer for graphical systems with only one functioning eye), I contacted Herzig, got a consultation scheduled within a few weeks, then pre-op, and then surgery within another few weeks. I can honestly say Herzig is an A+ smoothly working organization, fully staffed, zero stress, clean environment filled with the latest tech, and the staff is very punctual. When the appointment was scheduled, it was at that precise time, no needless waiting. The surgery was set for a total of 3 hours because of covid protocols, and it was just that. The next day post-op was going to be 15-20 min and it was again exactly that, in-and-out, no waiting for someone tired to show up running between 5 other patients. Everything was explained, nothing was rushed, and no pressure. Going Herzig route you have an option to select the latest premium implants (unlike the ones in hospital covered by OHIP) and I would strongly recommend that because there are now some funky new high-end monofocal with increased depth of field. Also, you can choose the laser option as they can fix some other things with the eye as needed. Thanks to all this I have super sharp and high contrast vision, zero halos, and absolutely no glare - I honestly feel like I have a better vision than I ever had before, even when I was younger. And the colors are pretty amazing! I can use my left eye now as a fully pantone color calibrated reference with a perfect white-balance. Yup, I work on imaging software systems and at 50 years I discovered that white is actually more white than I ever saw. They told me the operated eye is now better than 20/20 so my daughter thinks I am an android, which is certainly a bonus. I was cleared to drive the next day after surgery, of course with those funky protective glasses they provided, which makes other people to open doors for me and scouts trying to help me cross the road despite my vocal protests. So far this was a great experience, even though I was pretty chickened out. (Anything eye-related was a nightmare for me as I had an eye injury when I was little - I honestly couldn't even look at TV if they show something done with an eye). The surgery was really far better than I expected. So yeah, I would not blink twice if I ever need to fix my other eye. And hey, they didn't make me write this review - this was all my idea.

I had the SMILE surgery in August 2020 and I could not be happier with my experience and results. When I began to feel anxious in the operating room right before the surgery began, Dr Baig and the nurses stopped what they were doing to reassure me. They played music I like in the operating room and one of the nurses held my hand. I felt cared for and in good hands. I don't know why I was scared because the surgery was a breeze. No pain, no discomfort, no burning smell... Nothing unpleasant really. Like the surgery, the recovery was quick and painless. The day of the surgery, my vision was cloudy but I could still function. The next day, my vision was excellent. My vision is now better than 20/20. :)

This is a first class facility with attentive and professional service. They offer prompt assessment and most importantly for me fast access to the required medical procedure. I was assessed by Dr. Bhargava and he also did the surgery on both eyes. The surgery for both eyes could have been done on one day or one eye on two consecutive days but I opted to wait a week between surgeries. I opted for the laser technique but I am not sure if it was worthwhile. Regardless, the outcome was excellent and I am very pleased with the results. I my case one eye was corrected for distance and the other for closer objects. I have 20/20 in the right (distance) eye. Post surgery I couldn't believe how much brighter everything was. I was like having a new TV. Expensive but worth it for me as I would likely have waited one year for surgery here in Ontario without have the benefit of these precision facilities. Thanks to all in the facility.

Absolutely amazing experience. I booked a consult in January and last Thursday had my 1-month post-op checkup for vision correction surgery in both eyes. When I learnt a few years ago at another clinic that I didn't qualify for Lasik I thought that was it, but Herzig has so many other options and ICL worked for me! They offered a large selection of lenses, so there were options to meet my needs. They took great care of me from the initial consultation, through the detailed measurements and with the surgery itself. And, given the current COVID-19 circumstances, they ensured that their offices and surgery rooms were clean and safe, and there were no problems with social distancing. I came from Norway to do my SMILE eye surgery. I totally recommend this eye institut. the communication went by mail, and Jill and Tim Morrison made everything go smooth for me. They made me a good plan before my arrival to Canada. When I came for consultation the eye institute looked very clean. The staff we're very nice and welcoming. I met 2 doctors and they took good care of me. They recommended me what is best for me to have. you may think that the prices are a bit high, but you for sure get what you payed for. At surgery day doctor Baig took care of me and did the surgery. It was as fast as a blink of an eye. The doctor was communicating with me during the procedure. That made me feel a bit relaxed. He was telling me step by step what he is doing and what I should do. I got 2 follow ups after the surgery, and everything went well. It is now 20 days since I had the surgery and my vision is almost perfect. My vision was blurry the first 3 days and after that, day by day my vision got better. Herzig eye institute is worth visiting to get treated good, taken care of and it is a secure place to do surgery in. All medications and eye drops you'll need is given by them, and hey they also give you a gift card as "thank you for choosing us" gift!
