Wanted just basic glasses, talked into purchasing Crizal lenses with transitional lenses. The best they said, never scratch, no need for sunglasses. Worst ever. So $1000.00 dollars later, scratched glasses, and don't work for sun glare at all. Good sales pitch tho!

In 2017 I had my eyes checked and purchased a new pair of glasses plus lenses for the pair I already had. Everything was fine and covered by my insurance Claim-Secure which was not direct billed and also by my husband’s insurance, Alberta Blue Cross which was direct billed then. Last Thursday, June 11th, both of us went there to get our eyes checked and I had the intention to purchase a new pair. Upon arrival while filling out the questionnaire for the COVID-19, we handed our insurance cards and were told that neither of them were directed billed. We asked why and she didn’t know why, just that Alberta Blue Cross wasn’t directed billed anymore but we could go ahead and file with the insurance company to get a refund. Fine. That was the end of it. We went ahead and got everything done and left happy. Friday evening when my husband filled for a refund claim with Alberta Blue Cross, he was notified that the provider was ineligible for coverage by ABC anymore, and according to the ABC representative who helped my husband they are aware of it since the coverage came to an end last May of 2019. I went there Monday morning to try get a refund for the glasses because neither of us were made aware of such issue and of course “I’m sorry, there’s nothing we can do because the request has already been submitted to the lab and they started working on your request. I’ll have the owner to contact you until Friday.” I left and today (a day later) I just got a phone call -not from the owner btw- from the same assistant whom I spoke with yesterday and to no surprise I had the same answer. However today she came up with another detail that they surprisingly forgot to mention. She said that the staff is directed to inform all clients that they are not covered by ABC upon arrival AND checkout. The staff definitely needs a better training since NO ONE, at any time mentioned to us that they are not covered by ABC. After posting this issue on social media, it turns out that this is a common practice in this clinic as MANY other people have had the exact same issue. I will pick up my glasses and they will never see the color of my money again.

I just wanted to make a post regarding Eye Image here in Fort McMurray. My husband and I both went for exams and glasses on June 11. I am covered by Alberta Blue Cross and my husband by Claim Secure. We spent $1089 in this establishment to have this treatment completed. Upon registration with reception they informed us that they no longer direct bill for Alberta Blue Cross or Claim Secure but we may submit later ourselves to be reimbursed. Upon having treatment completed and same paid for, we each submitted our claims to our respective insurances. It turns out that Eye Image and Dr. Mohammad Mais have been delisted by Alberta Blue Cross since last year and they are no longer a covered provider. The document states that providers can be delisted for many reasons, “Although you may still choose to go to these providers, as the financial steward of your plan, Alberta Blue Cross is obligated to ensure claims are legitimate and medically necessary and, for a variety of reasons, will refuse to cover products or services from them. For example, after a thorough review, we may have found that the provider has a pattern of charging for services that weren’t delivered, or they may have a history of offering incentives or providing unnecessary or non-medical treatments or products.” My husband went to the clinic yesterday to chat with them. We were hoping to at the least cancel the order of the frames and lenses and to see what could be done about this misleading information. They said the Optician was not in and he would get back to us. Today we had the receptionist call us and say that it is their policy to ensure that all clients are made aware upon registration and check out if they will not be covered by their insurance company and they apologize for the miscommunication. I reiterated that this was not miscommunication, but rather blatant lying and misleading on their part. It is unacceptable to mislead your clients in such a way to ensure you get your money and then conveniently you can do nothing about it after the fact. She continued to rhyme off the clinics policy and said that nothing could be done. I finished the call by telling her I would make this incident public on facebook to make sure people are aware of their business practices. She repeated her rehearsed statement one last time until I finally hung up on her. I just want to put it out there that this clinic is very untrustworthy, dishonest and clearly just out to get your money while they mislead you. They know full well they have been delisted as I confirmed with Alberta Blue Cross. All clinics tied to Dr. Mohammad Mais have been delisted in Fort McMurray. This is a very upsetting situation and I hope no one else finds themselves in the same predicament.

Very dissatisfied with my first visit in this establishment today. Walked in to try to book an eye appointment and got told to leave and call to book an appointment. The woman working the front desk basically got aggravated by us in there looking at the glasses while we waited for them to finish their conversation to ask about an appointment. I did not touch any of the glasses, only looked. Got told we could look when we came for an appointment. I felt like I was being treated like a child, I am 36 years old. This was a horrible experience and there are many other optometrists in town that I will be happy to bring my business to.

This is the second time I used them, I came for a check up and to buy new glasses after loosing my old ones. Check up was good with equipment that made me feel my eyes were getting tested properly and they had a good selection of glasses to choose from. I would recommend them.

Really terrible customer service. I came to this store a month ago to get a eye exam for myself and my son. The prescription was drastically different from my previous eye exam. Then i asked them to call me to let me know how much INAC would cover so that if i needed to choose a more affordable frame i could do so. I then recieved a call 2 weeks later saying my glasses were ready for pick up. So they went ahead and put a claim through without my consent. Not only did they do that. When i first went there they told me the direct bill to my benifits coverage and after my eye appointment was done they told me that no they dont direct bill. I would never recommend this company to anyone else.

These guys are scammers and sell you stuff you don't need, they also lied to many people about insurance coverage and after the order was placed, a lot of people had to spend their money out of pocket, don't go to these guys

I went to get my frames replaced. They broke my lenses and told me "it happens" still waiting to hear back ..... Not impressed????????. ......update still haven't heard back. I guess they don't care about customers!

These people don't respect others time. Had to wait for more than one and half hour just to get the eye exam done despite getting appointment and arriving on time. They charge more for the same service. The staff try their best to engage customers to make their mind for buying more than their needs.

Horrible, my wife and I purchased a pair of glasses and sunglasses for the tune of over $3000,00. The arms of the Rayban glasses came off in November 2020. I had to order 2 new arms. They forgot to put the order in and never received the arms until March 2021. Last week the arm came off again. 2 months after the new arms were installed. My wife brought them back in today and a very rude employee told her the warranty was up so they would not do anything. 2 months after having the arm installed. I will never do business there again and hope that everyone that reads this review takes their business elsewhere. You lost a loyal customer

I contacted my insurance company they said Eye image took money , I called back did talk to Dr about it Dr said he will reimburse my money to insurance company but they never did . BEWARE everyone they charge your insurance company without giving you service

Waited 20 minutes and saw a walk-in person get a walk in appointment and he was seen before me. Not cool. If you make appointments you should be seen within 5-10 minutes of your designated appointment time, not 20 minutes later and let someone walk in before your patients with appointments. Also, they are not covered by at all by blue Cross and they don't really tell you this. They just say you can try and submit the claim to them, knowing full well that you won't be covered at all and it will be 100% out of pocket. All they say at the counter is they don't direct bill to blue Cross anymore. Not impressed with this place. The only star this place deserves is for being clean.

Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disheartening. My boyfriend had his appointment and ordered his glasses on the 6th of February. I called 6 weeks later on the 15th of March to check on the status of his glasses as I assumed they must be ready for pickup by now and perhaps we have just missed their call. I was told they were still in Calgary and had no idea when we could expect them. The person I spoke with told me that she would look into it and call me back. I received no call back. My boyfriend stopped by on his days off the following week and was given the same response. I called to check in again on the 29th of March and was told that the order had been resubmitted a week ago but again, no idea when we could expect them. I asked if we could cancel the order, or if there was anything that could be done to compensate for the inconvenience as it has now been 7 weeks since the glasses were ordered and paid for. I was told “we don’t offer refunds”. As unfortunate as the extended wait time is, it’s the poor customer service we received that’s the most frustrating. We will 100% be taking our business elsewhere in the future.

It is well said that the "first impression is the last impression!" I found their customer service as excellent - the staff was extremely helpful with purchasing new frame and glasses for my Son early December 2019. Having been impressed, I decided to purchase my daughter's lenses replaced again through Eye Image. Relatively fast in getting the glasses ready!

The office did not carry Burberry glasses but I had seen some in Edmonton I liked, they offered to order them in for me at no cost to me so I could try them on. I ended up not liking them after all and chose a different pair. I found them very friendly and accommodating !

I was experiencing a lot of eye strain from increased computer usage due to work and study. After a visit to Eye Image I walked away with a pair of anti glare glasses and after 2 weeks of use I no longer experience any eye strain. The service is exceptional and professional. They take multiple forms of insurance coverage and try to make everything work for you.

First visit ended with glasses being delivered 2.5 times past the date cited (almost 6 weeks). Second visit the delivery guy in the store was treated better than me, the paying customer, plus they lost my prescription. If they were the only game in town, I'd drive to Edmonton before I gave them another dollar.

Had an eye exam, got glasses, safety glasses and contacts. Went back for refill on the contacts. They had entered the wrong prescription and refused to give me an exchange. Said I needed a new eye exam to confirm. Make sure you go over your billing.

The service was perfect , The doctor was amazing kind , I’m giving a 2 stars charging $90 for less than 20 mins to help my son learn how to put in his contact lenses , I hope next time they would ask the parent if it okay to go ahead with the services instead of just billing from nowhere, my son is a minor. The wait time was reasonable, the staff was wonderful, and Dr. Mais was efficient at his job. The doctor here is questionable. Tested mine and my wife's eyes and said both of us needs new prescription. Then we ordered 2 pairs of new glasses with prescription. Of course the new prescription was way off so we had to go to Dr. Moon on thickwood and get it checked again and found out none of us had any changes in our prescription...... The extra visit to the doctor and 2 pairs of lenses wasn't covered by insurance of course...surprise.... That was waste of $600.....never again....

Dr Moe, Allison, Ann, Flora and another lady whose name I did not catch but did the initial reading of my eyes before seeing Dr. Moe, were all amazing, professional, patient, friendly and accommodating towards me!! They got me in on very short notice, helped my pick the right glasses frame and turned my day around! Thank you for providing such great care and customer service.
