Going in for OCT scans are great. Clean, quick, friendly everything you could ask for. But when it comes to actually having to see the doctor (Dr Gan) it is completely ridiculous. On MULTIPLE occasions I have waited upwards of an hour and a half over the time they quoted me. At 9 months pregnant the last thing you want to be doing is sitting in another stuffy doctor's office waiting more than double the time expected. Absolutely unprofessional.

Absolute professionals. I am always impressed by their care and courtesy. The desk staff are well trained and very helpful. The doctor I see here is a true caregiver and a credit to his profession.

I'm a 30-year-old with an advance case of Glaucoma that was only recently diagnosed in the last two years. Needless to say, I was beyond myself imagining what life would be like if I went blind so young. Dr. Behn and the staff at Victoria Eye have been exceptional in their efforts to take care of me and my condition. I've been armed with the knowledge and medicine to make sure that this is never a problem so long as I remain vigilant.

I couldn't be happier with my result ,keeping one eye to read and fixing the other for distance. Staff and doctors are all excellent and knowlegeable and very efficient. Little parking for such a big office space Had to park across the road at the mall, With injured knee made it extremely unaccomidating. Patient complained and got bumped in the q ahead of us who were waiting 1.5 hours now . Would recommend to anyone who has nothing to do with their day but wait.

I had double lens replacement surgery 16 mths ago. I was told by Dr Behn that I would be able to read the back of a pill bottle after the surgery. Not true, I still needed glasses for reading newspapers and books after both surgeries. I paid privately $13,000 - and felt I was owed reading vision for that price, as that is what I was promised. I was contacted by the office after both surgeries for feedback. My feedback was not good. When I went back for a check up I was treated like I was a trouble maker. In addition, Dr Behn is a touchy feely type of guy. I am 60 + years old and don't appreciate someone squeezing my arm. I certainly wouldn't send my granddaughter to see him. I asked them for a refund and got no response. Would suggest you use someone else.

Waiting area air conditioning is about 10 degrees. Bring a jacket, because you wait for over an hour with dialated eyes. With other eye doctors, I will not put myself through this again.

Frustrating experience. This place doesn't give a hoot about patient care. Go elsewhere. They call and leave message outside of officer hours and expect a reply, but there's no way to reach them since you can't leave a message. No flexibility for appointments either..

Everyone here has been absolutely incredible! I know that some people have complained about the wait times but that is b/c they see emergency patients like me as well as their scheduled patients. I am a young woman and one day I woke up and went from 20/20 vision to legally not being able to drive. I have never been so terrified. Not only was everyone very sweet and supportive they were very thorough. Dr Olivia Dam even stayed late to see me. I will be forever grateful for everything that they have done for me and continue to do. For those of you who are frustrated because you have to wait, please know that you will be well looked after and you are waiting so someone as afraid as me has a chance to see a doctor and get some answers.

August 2020-August 2021 I want to provide you with information on my cataract surgery experience with Victoria Eye. I knew it was expensive but I chose Victoria Eye because supposedly, only they, had the best lenses available and the latest laser technology such that I would likely not need glasses after the surgery. I am extremally displeased. The results were very poor. The follow-up care is terrible. The staff generally, are very rude. I had refractive lens surgery in both eyes. After a consultation in August my first eye was done in October, and my second eye was done in November. On my many follow up visits I explained that my eyes were extremally sore and irritated and my vision was terrible. I was then told by Dr. W that I had "dry eye". He sold me some drops and said to come back in a few months. My eyes remained very sore and my vision remained poor. I finally got an appt (after the receptionist hung up on me) with Dr. B who was quite concerned by the condition of my eyes. She had Dr. Behn laser the scar tissue that was in both. My eyes were still very sore after that. I continued to see Dr. B regularly for almost a year. New drops after new drops and then a routine of warm cloths and cold cloths but my eyes were still no better. I spoke to Dr. Behn on the phone about my concerns and he told me just to "hang in". At this point, I went back to my optometrist. He changed all the drops I had been using and stopped the twice daily, hot and cold eye treatments. Within a month my eyes were so much better. I am happy, I finally have relief. Unfortunately I still need glasses for both distance and reading. This was not at all what I was expecting or told to expect. The cost was $12,000 for the initial surgery. BC Medical was paying them for the follow-up visits. I was paying for all the drops. And never did there appear to be any real concern by Victoria Eye about the outcome of my surgery. I would strongly suggest you go someone else for your cataract surgery. I have many friends who went elsewhere in the city and have been most pleased. I also have four friends that that have dealt with Victoria Eye and were most unhappy. Darlene

Currently still sitting in the waiting area for my 1:50 appointment and it is 2:30. This has been a consistent pattern since I was referred here so keep that in mind if you're referred here.

I was very pleased with my experience at Victoria Eye. Took a bit to get in, but with everything going on in the world right now with a Pandemic lingering on, I certainly won’t complain! Both eye surgeries went well. Dr. Behn and his associates were all very courteous and professional. This has been a life altering experience for me. Over 45 years of being dependant on glasses with a very high prescription and now only need glasses periodically. I was never promised perfection, but only improvement and that was certainly achieved! Very pleased with the results!

Very poor at keeping their appointment times. Seen better service in publicly funded centers. Extremely poor time management. It was 1/2 hour past my appointment time before I was called just to have a technician but drops in my eye. It is comletely unreasonable to wait 2 hours to see a doctor, in a private clinic charging $6000/eye. Not only is it unreasonable, be prepare to sit on rock hard benches, in a waiting room akin to a bus depot.

So far still waiting for cataract surgery, it's been more than a year. With Covid 19, I expected a delay to my scheduled date of May 2021 and tried to contact the office by phone. That is a hopeless experience. Sent an email and we'll see if that works. I have to order contacts again - how many do I need?? When I initially went to this clinic I found wait times very long and the customer service very frustrating. The receptionists don't really seem to understand what questions you have and set up needless multiple appointments, repeating tests, until you finally see the doctor to ask the simple question that probably could have been answered with a phone call. I changed my rating because things improved immensely with the general service and my cataracts were done sooner than I expected. The procedure turned out great. I no longer have to wear glasses and the world is a brighter place. Dr. Dam has turned out to be worth the wait for her skill. For all I know, the surgery will be excellent. I could be half blind by then.

Hand sanitizer everywhere, lots of room to social distance and every one is masked. Spotlessly clean and the equipment is sanitized before every patient. The absolute best part is Dr. Behn and his excellent staff! I abhor anyone or anything coming close to my eyes so I am not an easy patient. Having had three surgeries in as many months says a lot about my trust in Dr. Behn and his team. When I first met Dr. Behn I was struck by his confidence and knowledge. He has the ability to put you at ease. His communication skills are great and he relayed the problems I was having in a way that I could understand. Throughout the three surgeries Dr. Behn was kind and very professional and although I was a squinter he did a beautiful job! I now have 20/20 vision! It was a journey from beginning to end of despair of my failing eyesight to hope and at the end the exhilaration of regaining my vision! Just wanted to Thank the great crew at Victoria Eye, Dr.Darren Behn who did my laser treatment as soon as he could fit me in and was wonderful in making me as comfortable as possible, his staff were wonderful too! Dr. Behn also took me in sooner, for post-op appointment to make sure everything took well! It took some time but now all is pretty good with my eyes! I also want to Thank Dr. Scott Williams for his post -op fill in for Dr. Behn, he made sure everything was good as I was having some sensitivity and issues but was confirmed that the laser was a success! I have since purchased glasses with a tint called FL 41 that has helped tremendously with light sensitivity and vertigo, this was recommended by Dr. Poon but thought this information would be helpful to some? I had a stye on my eye and I got a call from this office 2 YEARS later, asking me if I was still interested in an appointment. Absolutely horrible service. I will definitely keep that in mind if someone ever recommends this office again. The stye has been gone for 2 YEARS, but thanks for the "follow up".

If I said I was impressed with the people working for Dr Behn, I would by lying. I am over the moon with how well my husband and I were treated at victoria eye. Each visit we were welcomed with warm smiles from his front of house Ashley and Rebecca who always make us feel taken care of. Dr Behn himself took the time to answer all our questions, some that we had to ask several times as we get forgetful in our old age. I do not normally go out of my way to write a review, but his manager Daniica went above and beyond for us. She spent time with us at the clinic answering our questions, and even moving appointments to accommodate our needs. Not only that, but she then called us personally after my husbands surgery to ask how we were doing and if I needed any clarification on my husbands drops. She was so patient and kind and always greets us by name with a big smile. We will be recommending Dr Behn to everyone we know, and even those we dont know. Thank you again Dr Behn.

Was sent here for an emergency ... blisters on my eye lid and upper lid, major pain and swelling, red eyes, fever .. very bad discharge ,and loss of vision.. waited 1 hour past my scheduled time.. to be told it was a stye.. went back to emergency where they 100 percent were sure it was not a stye... obviously. Now I'm on IV antibiotics thanks to the amazing medical staff at the VGH for actually diagnosing the issue... I have never been misdiagnosed so incorrectly in my life..

Dr. Dam & Staff were just great and believe me laser surgery is the only way to go. Had eight or nine follow up appointments which went great and on time. The only negative thing I’ve heard is that it could take two hours to complete your appointment. Well folks get real Dr. Dam is saving your eyesight not renewing your drivers license. I wish there was less stars for this business. Spend your money here if you want to support people who over work and under pay their employees. Work here if you want to work for someone who thinks sink or swim with zero training is the best method and believes management should just speak poorly about their employees instead of guiding them. Read the indeed reviews from employees. People quit constantly here for a reason.
