I was scared after reading all the bad experiences ppl had at other laser surgery places, but Dr. King was reassuring and very forthright. His testimonials were awesome, and his experience so vast that I felt confident I was making the right decision placing my eyes in his care. He indicated his preference regarding surgery options and why, and he assured me my recovery would be much, much shorter than I read on the Internet at various sites. I was initially going to do just one eye at a time, but he convinced me to do them both at once and I'm glad he did. I had PRK rather than LASIK since my family has a history of cataracts and glaucoma, so I knew my eyes would likely need some work when I'm older. I didn't want a flap to be an issue. I also knew I was willing to sacrifice a few weeks now to have fewer potential problems down the line. PRK has a much much longer recovery time than LASIK, but the results are the same after recovery. LASIK is a day or so recovery while PRK recovery can last weeks, sometimes even longer than a month. I expected to not be able to see for many weeks. The first few days were awful, but I read that I should stay in a dark room and rest my eyes, so I listened to audiobooks. Although I could see, it was blurry. After 5-7 days, I was able to drive and my vision was really good, although still not perfectly sharp. I'm shocked how well I can see after 10 days. My eyes aren't sensitive nor are they as dry as they were 4 days ago. I've taken fish oil, zinc and vitamin C to help with healing. Aftercare at King LASIK is wonderful, the advice given is explained in good detail and the staff are friendly and caring. I couldn't be happier with my decision and I'm not even fully healed yet. Every day just keeps getting better. Thanks so much!

Awesome experience. I had my LASIK surgery done at the Victoria, BC location as Dr. King came highly recommended to me by the doctors at the optometry clinic where I work . The staff were extremely friendly, informative and attentive and the surgery was so quick and painless. My vision was at 20/25 the next day and other than my eyes feeling a little bit tired, I had very minimal discomfort following the surgery. I started out with a fairly high prescription and strong astigmatism and it's been just over two weeks and my vision is better than it ever was with glasses or contacts! It's completely life changing --if you're considering LASIK, all I can say is DO IT.

As someone who suffers from a multitude of anxiety disorders, I was very impressed by the way I was treated at King Lasik. The staff was very friendly and made me feel at ease, and they went out of their way to show me the surgical room and such so that I could be more comfortable. They talked to me at great length to cover all of my concerns (which made my consultation a long one!) so that I could feel good about moving forward. The surgery day was faster than they had given me an estimate of. I relayed a few fears to them and they helped me deal with them, and I got to meet Dr. King ahead of time which helped also. They even counted down the seconds while the lasers were running to give me something to focus on. It was so much easier than I thought it would be! I just had it done yesterday and this morning I already see better than I did with my glasses. Thank you so much, team King Lasik! I will recommend you to anyone thinking about getting this done.

I have to admit, I was getting fed up with wearing my glasses. They were always getting smudged, they were an annoyance with my motorcycle helmet, I couldn't see anything when swimming, then it's sunny and now I need to wear (find) my prescription sunglasses..... if you wear glasses, you know what I'm saying, right? I went to King LASIK to find out more about laser eye surgery and the entire staff was amazingly upbeat and informative and the Consultation was quick and clearly explained. I followed through with the decision and am now seeing without my glasses for the first time in 42 years. Wow. I am thrilled!

I would totally recommend King LASIK to anyone considering laser surgery. I had been for consultations at two other lasik providers, and did not receive anything close to the tremendous customer service at Dr. King's! The staff there are AMAZING, they made me feel so comfortable and calm on the day of my procedure, and were pros at answering all my questions. I am severely nearsighted and was quite anxious about the procedure. I didn't love it but it was over very quickly and it was painless. My eyes were in the top 5% for worst vision, so I had a longer time with the laser which many would not have to do. I cannot believe how fast the recovery has been and how amazing my new vision is. As much as I want to give the procedure 10/10 I am still in my early stages of healing (1 week exactly) so I can' say what the future will bring. So far I have been very satisfied, the staff was professional, thorough and made sure I was fully aware of what would happen. There were no last minute adjustments to my operation but they did make sure to do one last vision check to be sure nothing had changed. The procedure itself was terrifying and less than comfortable but so far I am glasses free with minimum soreness but no eye strain headaches! I'm glad I chose King Lasik, I will recommend to others in the future.

I feel I was treated badly here. I had surgery 3 years ago now, and still have problems. I didn't even meet the doctor. Apparently someone came in while the nurses had me on the table and pushed some buttons causing my eyes to be lazered. He (the "doctor" didn't even say hello to me. I paid top dollar but now my vision is almost worse. Can't see anything at night, big halos, blinding. It was awful.

They also helped with financing which was really great as I didn't need to take out a personal loan to get it done. The procedure was painless and now I have perfect vision. I can't say enough good things about these guys!

After putting off these procedure for many years due to my fears and the sales pressure I experienced from a competitor, I am very impressed by the professionalism and care I experienced from the surgeon, doctors and staff of KING LASIK. No question was too silly or stupid and I could call and have my questions answered at any time. I was made to feel my welfare and comfort was just as important to the staff as it was to me. I give 4 stars because there is always room for improvement. For instance, more explanation regarding setting up follow up appointments with other doctors outside of KING LASIK. If you live on Vancouver Island, this is the place to get laser eye correction surgery. The free consultation was thorough and informative. I felt no pressure at all to go forward with anything. Upon choosing to go ahead with the LASIK custom wavefront procedure, I have been completely impressed with my results in regards to my vision. As well, Dr. King and his staff were friendly and professional. He even called me at home the night of my procedure to make sure I was feeling ok. The experience here was GREAT! There was no pain, and while the procedure was uncomfortable, it was over in 7 minutes! And the staff were very comforting throughout the process.
