Being a patient here is quite the experience- everything runs like a well oiled machine. From the reception to the eye exam to the recommendations by the ophthalmologist to the verification with insurance, everything is organized and thought through well in advance. If you value efficiency and professionalism, look no further. Schedule an appointment and it'll start on time and you'll be done so fast your head will be spinning (in a good way). In addition all the staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful. They even walked me through an insurance problem where I was inadvertently about to be overcharged due to a billing mishap. They sorted it out and I walked away without paying a dime, as I had expected. Will be coming back often, and I highly recommend.

i got lasik with dr. h and it great experience for me! dr. h is with you through the whole process, and does his own check ups to make sure he knows your eyes well. most places have the techs do the work up and report to the doctor. the day of the surgery, they pick you up before the surgery and drop you off (if you live in NY). they were very clear with the post op care and send reminders of what to do and when appointments are. dr. h even called me after my surgery just to check in and see how i was doing. i didn’t have 20/20 right away, but 2 weeks later, and i have perfect 20/20 vision. already have recommended dr. h to many of my friends!

I had surgery with Dr. Hufnagel about 7 years ago. He is really one of the best. His bedside manner is greatly appreciated. He was informative and accommodating from the consultation, Pre- and post- Op, follow ups, etc. I got comfortable and haven’t been back for a checkup in almost 4 yrs. I was amazed at the fact he still remembers me. I am on medication that is making my vision blurry. He was very concerned and did extensive studies to my make sure they’re healthy. I am still 20-20 and left there with such a relief knowing it’s nothing permanent or affecting my surgery results, all thanks to his professionalism and dedication. I’ve sent several friends over to years and they had excellent experience as well. Highly recommended him!

Hi to ALL, I heard about Dr. Hufnagel from a family friend. I wanted to do Lasik and I went to see other good doctors before I came here. I used to wear contacts since I was 13 yrs old. I must have over-wore them because I kept getting infections and dryness in my eyes. Last year after my last infection my eyes would not accept contact lenses anymore . No matter what brand or what type, as soon as I would put the lens in my eye it would burn and get red and irritated. I wore glasses for the next year and was not able to do many extreme sports that I usually do because of my glasses. When I came to Dr. Hufnagel I was very worried and paranoid about doing Lasik because of the complications I had previously with my eyes. With his professional knowledge and thorough explanations he calmed me down and told me everything would be fine. I was still very nervous but decided to trust the doctor and go ahead with the surgery. I am now a month after my surgery and I see 20/15 and there are no problems with my eyes at all. Its a real miracle how something can change your life so positively . I already recommended a few friends and family to Dr. Hufnagel and I will continue to do so. I really felt comfortable and got great service from EVERYONE in the office and it was a real pleasure getting my procedure done here. Dr. Hufnagel is kind, warm, professional and is very knowledgeable in Lasik, eye-care and ophthalmology. I am blessed to have found Dr. Hufnagel and will continue to refer him to anyone looking to make positive changes in their life.

Dr. Werner is one of the best doctors in NYC. Highly recommend. Overall a very pleasant experience. I came for Botox and would recommend going to Dr. Werner, instead of plastic surgeons or other Botox doctors (which I have tried over the years, and the injections were never done correctly, either leaving droopy eyes, spock eyes, or falling out completely). Dr. Werner knows how to apply Botox, has a pleasant manner and followed up a few days after to see how the Botox was working. 5 stars! Furthermore, the staff at Stahl was very polite, professional and friendly. I waited less than 5 minutes for my appointment. My experience was exceptionally positive.

Today I was in and out in ONE hour after several eye exams. I’ve been going to Stahl Eye for about 15 years. I’m especially thankful to Dr. Chang, who, while on vacation during the Christmas holidays took the time to respond to my urgent call for guidance when my niece, a medical doctor, was visiting from Scotland and became blind in one eye. I was put on eye drops by another Practice and told I must have them for the rest of my life, then on my first visit to Dr. Chang he said he took me off and now I've been off eye drops for almost 10 years.

Sketchy billing practices. I am in the medical field so was able to recognize some of the things this office was doing that was concerning. The front desk personnel reminded me of a car salesperson. Very misleading and tricky. Taking advantage of patients who may not understand how the system works is wrong but unfortunately more common nowadays in the medical world. Just be aware.

Just want to share my experience with people intended to go there. The staff there were “good”, they were polite and smiling to there customers all the time when it’s not coming to responsibility and money. My eyesight was uneven, the first time I went this place, told the doctor the situation, and I got a pair of glasses with same degrees which doctor told me go back and see how they work. It took some time for me to realize if the glasses fitted me. Then I made another appointment with the doctor, when I got there, reception desk told me I didn’t make the appointment and I had to postpone it. Then when I got there, I was told it’s been a month since I got the glasses and I had to pay for my second visit. Finally I decided not to go there. The dilemma is that if you have uneven eyesight, you may not get the suitable prescription for the first time. I read other reviews, some people complained about their unskillfulness when face with uneven eyesights, and I think they are also irresponsible when face with follow ups. Doctors may face thousands of patients which makes them feel nothing, however a patient could only have one pair of eyes in a life time if you have uneven eyesight or need some responsibilities you should consider it before you go.

I really liked Dr. Werner but after I went for a routine eye exam i received a bill, although my insurance covers one eye exam per year 100%. Unfortunately the way the DR's office billed the exam it wasn't paid. When I called DR Werners office and spoke to billing they told me that I didn't ask for a routine eye exam that i need to specify routine eye exam when i arrived, but that is what I went to him for so I don't understand what they meant. Then the woman proceeded to tell me that she didn't have routine written on any papers so she was refusing to create a new claim with the correct coding. I never experienced anything like this in my life. She is unwilling to help me get the claim paid and they expect me to pay it out of my own pocket and i didn't even leave there with a new eyeglass prescription because my eyes didn't change! Im finding a new doctor.

I saw Dr. Chang at Stahl Eyecare in Manhattan with eye problems that I stated on the office’s medical form. After the technician performed routine tests, Dr. Chang spent, at most, five minutes with me and didn’t ask one question about my reason for the visit. When I asked about my symptoms, he said there was nothing to do about it and it would probably get worse, and we were done. Then they tried to sell me prescription glasses from their in-house vendor. I don’t need prescription glasses and they had nothing to do with the eye problems that I went there about. When I asked the vendor for a copy of the prescription, she said it was “extra work” if I wasn’t going to buy glasses from her. I’ve spent the time since trying to find out if my insurance will cover another ophthalmology visit because I still have the same problems I went in with. I didn’t go to an eye doctor in the middle of a pandemic for a routine exam. Dr. Chang showed a staggering lack of interest and was a complete waste of time.

Dr. Zimmerman did her work well and patiently. Unfortunately, the staff was not able to do their job. They billed the wrong insurance, which is 5 times as expensive. When I informed them, the the lady in billing guaranteed me she will take care of everything. Now I got another bill 4 months after my visit. The woman on the phone was unbelievably rude and told me she never got my insurance's information. They ran out the clock so I can't switch insurances anymore . Incompetent and rude staff. You will not see me again.

I got lasik here about a month ago and the results have been great. I have 20/15 vision and the process was painless. I haven’t had many side effects other than some discomfort the day of and light sensitivity. Dr Werner was really efficient. The surgery is in long island but they have a shuttle to bring you. There are a few things that have really frustrated me about the experience with this office which is why I took off a couple stars. On the phone, they told me I could qualify for the essential worker discount because I’ve been in the office since last March. The doctor said it was fine when I met with him. After an hour spent booking my surgery and signing a bunch of forms, the surgery coordinator told me I’d only qualify for the lower discount. At that point, I was already set up with everything so I went ahead with it but I was annoyed they didn’t honor their initial price quote. Also, I just spent 30 minutes trying to get ahold of them over the phone since the building locks in the evenings and I couldn’t get to the office. When I finally got through, they told me they misbooked my appointment by two weeks. I’m positive I didn’t mix up the dates as it’s my month follow up and it’s been a month since my surgery and I’ve had a trip out of town planned for a while. I asked if they could see me now since I was in the lobby and it was when my appointment was supposed to be but they weren’t able to sort that out either. It feels very disorganized and wasted my time. The surgery went well, the doctor was great, and I’m super happy with my results but I’ve spent more time dealing with the miscommunications than the consultations and surgery

Please do not go to Mr. Werner. I went to them in 2009 and have literally regretted it since. My eyes were intentionally overcorrected. Each week post surgery I returned to Dr Werner to determine why I couldn’t see and was told I was healing. On week three I saw his colleague who was able to diagnose the laser was set to overcorrect, thinking that once the overcorrection adjusted I would have 20/30 vision. Not only has that not happened, I am forever trapped in this weird eyesight that can no longer be corrected by either glasses or LASIK (he corrected one eye with a second LASIK procedure which made my eyesight even more uneven). I have horrible night glares and can not drive safely at night. While acknowledging his error in a full refund, the damage is already done. One of the worst decisions I have ever made in life.
