I am highly DISAPPOINTED. I had an appointment in May that was rescheduled at last minute due to doctor having an emergency. Appointment was rescheduled for today go to my visit only to wait and see other people being asked questions and ect but I had already signed in so I go to desk and advise I've been there appointment was at 2:40 got a call before letting me know they will see me but why the receptionist say yet again appointment is cancelled they tried calling (I had no missed call or voicemail informing me of anything) to tell me doctor had an emergency. I am sure emergencies come up but what's the odds of two times for both my appointments and I have took off work both times not to mention I am having concerns about my vision so I state my concern to receptionist only for her to state rescheduling yet again like I can just take off work whenever. I feel this is very unprofessional and a lack of compassion for there patients due to the receptionist nonchalant attitude but I am the one being ignored yet I remained calm and gracefully walked away. I have to find another eye doctor that may be my only option. I see this as a trend at this facility MyEyeDr.
Professional staff and my glasses always come back in a timely manner. They have a large variety of frames to choose from and they are very reasonably priced. I would absolutely recommend My Eye Doctor to anyone in the Albany area.
I had a wonderful experience at MyEyeDr in Albany, Georgia. From the staff at the reception desk, to the staff in the exam room, to the staff who helped me order my contacts. I've been using a huge practice in the north Atlanta area and my experience in Albany, Georgia was much, much better. Many thanks to everyone who was so helpful yesterday. I am recommending you to all my friends and family. I am not sure why there are any negative reviews of this practice. I feel that sometimes people who have positive experiences with services or items they purchase just don't take the time to post a review.
I had visited this place after finally making an appointment and be able to afford this. My first complaint, was walking into the office and speaking to the receptionist who seemed to have a bad attitude for no reason. Then after waiting TWO hours in the lobby, I was finally called back just to wait some more. The doctor (Deloatch) seemed very annoyed and very judgemental. He asked questions and when answered truthfully, he replied in a snarky manner. It was like he wanted to be everywhere else BUT work. Which should never be the case, especially when dealing your own patients. After waiting and more waiting, I got to browse the frames and select them. Also, They scheduled me a follow up appointment to check my new prescriptions for my contacts about a week later. That appointment was waiting and waiting again in the lobby. I told him the issues I was having and was met with more attitude and indifference. My prescription was wrong all a long. Now, they want me to return my contacts so they can adjust me for a new one. He was difficult to talk to, I was trying to make sure we were on the same page about everything because I didn't think he was understanding what I was saying. He continued to cut me off and act like he knew what I was talking about. If you have been doing this for long and think you have the practice down, the least you can do is admit you have made a mistake. I hope this will office will be better in the future, but I can't say this office will continue to get my business; as I'm not sure I can trust them any longer.
Ok
Was told that my glasses will be back in a week. Now their telling me it takes 2 weeks or longer. Really need my glasses. Headaches are becoming unbearable. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the Dr was nice and my visit was quick but the waiting process is horrible. My appointment was on 02/24 and it's going to be halfway through March before I get my glasses.
I wish I had read the reviews before coming. I had a good experience with the tech who prepared me for my exam and Scarlet, the young lady who ordered my lenses; however, my exam cost was almost $35 more than what I was told and the doctor became visibly irritated after I inquired about the prescription for color contacts along with my regular contact prescription. I've worn corrective lenses since I was 8 years old and never had to specify that I needed a prescription for my regular contacts, color contacts and eyeglasses. Maybe this place operates differently but there is no need for a "professional" to get rude with a customer especially if $35 is going to be charged for an extra 3 minutes of work to write and additional prescription. 2 stars for the awesome tech and Scarlet.
I’ve been receiving myeyedr spam emails for months. These people do not deserve your business. Their unsubscribe system must be purposefully faulty since I have unsuccessfully removed my self from their list no less than 10 times. This is a franchise not worthy of your business. Go elsewhere.
Customer service sucks.
I've been a customer at this location for many years and have been happy with the service and quality for a long time... until they became "MyEyeDr". There have been too many problems related to my contacts that never would have happened in the past including not applying my vision insurance on the contacts and not being able to resolve that issue and now I learned that the specific type of contact is incorrect. Normally a quick call would have the right people doing all they could to help but now that call involves talking to someone at a call center that lacks anything remote to concern for customer service. My doctor is great but after that it all falls apart. I'm very unhappy with the new organization :(
My Son wanted to change the style of his glasses. Jo was so patient and kind. She showed us all possible options there and online. This was a Great experience. Thank you.
DR. HENDLEY WAS AMAZING. HE WAS VERY INFORMATIVE, HE TRULY SAVED amazing. Put me in the right hands for my surgery. BRIANNA AND THE OTHER STAFF members was amzing.
We were visiting from out of town and needed an emergency repair. Donna was super friendly and had my repair work done in less than 5 minutes! Highly recommended!
My visit waa a good one. The doctor was helpful after he got out of his feelings. The lady that assist me getting my glasses was great. Overall good experience.
We had been happily searching for glasses at other shops, browsing with helpful staff members and good vibes UNTIL we had the unfortunate luck of stopping in at this place. Immediately upon walking in the door, the bad vibes came down like a monsoon. The lady at the desk was staring holes in us as if we were her long-dead relatives taking a short hiatus from our graves to purchase new lenses. We attempted to walk in and start browsing but she proceeded to stop us and ask if we had an appointment. "No, we are just coming to browse the glasses", we replied. She looked at us in an even more perplexed and perturbed way and then asked, "Well..... um.. Do you want to file insurance?". What??? We were so confused and her look was getting less welcoming by the second. We walked down to the women's section and started browsing a few frames. Guess who followed us in dead awkward silence with her signature "look". Yep, the desk attendant stalked us within two feet as if we were going to grab a pair and run for the hills. Well, we both tried to ignore her (unsuccessfully I might add) and try on some frames. We found one that was decent and set it aside by our watchful "friend" at the counter. We expected we would have her record the pairs we liked as all the previous places had done happily. Upon finding a second nice pair, we turned around to add it with the other. But ALLAKAZAM!!!! Both the glasses and our "overseer" had vanished without warning!!! We looked and saw she had relocated to a back office with a big window where she was talking with another employee and glaring at us while holding the glasses. We glanced at each other, both tacitly knowing this was our chance to run! We quickly put the pair we were holding back on the shelf, and vacated the premises feeling cold, unwelcome, uncomfortable, and relieved to be out! I would like to remind our dear readers that we had not been visiting Auschwitz or Guantanamo bay prison, but a humble glasses shop. This is a truly unusual experience to be had in such a place. Please, do not waste your time or money here unless you are growing tired of the usual quality service and courtesy you are accustomed to at your local glasses shop.
Firstly, I would like to address wait times at this location. This year, I have had at least two appointments for eye exams. For these appointments, which were earlier this year, I arrived on time, and when called back to the exam room, I was appalled to have waited nearly an hour and thirty minutes before I saw the optometrist. Also, during one visit, Dr. DeLoatch wrote me an incorrect eyeglasses prescription, which meant I had to reschedule another appointment for the correct prescription. In all, these appointments wasted my time! On another note, I recently replaced my lenses twice and had to replace my frame at this location. Specifically, my original lenses constantly became smudged during normal wear and my original (Gant) frame's temple broke during cleaning. Lastly, I was charged for merchandise that I did not receive. In February, I purchased a year supply of contact lens and participated in your My Annual Supply program, receiving a free pair of sunglasses with the purchase of another pair at $40.00. I subsequently returned both pairs of sunglasses, and received a credit, but was charged $40.00 for another pair of sunglasses, along with a free pair of sunglasses during another visit to your Albany, GA location, both sunglasses of which I never received. When I brought this fraudulent charge to the attention of your optical technicians and attempted to receive a refund of $40.00, my request was denied and the optical technicians whom processed my order provided me with little consolation as to why I was charged for merchandise I never received. These issues are an indication of the poor customer service as well as the poor quality of your product offerings at this store, which should be addressed immediately. Needless, to say, I will not be returning to this location, aside for warranty issues or adjustments to my new eyeglasses frame. Considering my experiences here, I would not recommended MyEyeDr. to others.
I walked up to the receptionist desk and it took longer than 5 minutes for one of the three receptionists to speak to me. They all looked at each other, then one of them spoke to me. She asked me why I was there. I told her I had an appointment for this morning at 10. She stated at first that they had no record of me. Then she said I had an appointment scheduled for the 24th. I told her I didn't and stood in front of my calendar when I made the appointment. Then she said my appointment wasn't until next month and it wasn't with the doctor I had asked to be scheduled with. Now she says I cannot get an appointment until December. I'm due to have a baby on January 4th and hope I can go. I have been seeing the same doctor for over 20yrs, and have loved going there until now. They receptionists seem like it's a bother to be spoken to. I would not recommend going up there. It isn't worth it. You can pay out of pocket to go anywhere else and be treated better. Do not waste your time with this establishment.
I love Dr. Hendley! He is such a wonderful eye doctor. I've been going to get my eyes checked by him for 10+ years! Sometimes the wait can be a bit long, but I can't imagine anyone else being my eye doctor.
I love them very friendly and they go straight to the point.ive been going with them since I moved here from NY.. and the staff is very friendly...
When I made a visit here the staff tried to double charge me for an eye exam and added it on top of the glasses bill. And when I caught it and told them , they said they make that mistake a lot. And she then said that most of the times they make that mistake they'll just "let it ride" and "wont tell the customers they paid for it twice." And I would like to mention that although the doctor was fairly nice, the staff has for the most part been rude to my wife and I whenever making appointments or ordering contacts.
Not a very good first impression! I was there for 2 hours for a routine exam appointment. The staff was not dressed professionally and I could not tell them from the patients. They were rude and unorganized, I will not be going back even though I really like the Doctor!
VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I went to the eye doctor on 7/6/2020, They literally charged me $145 for a contact exam and did not even have the trial pair I needed in stock. One of the ladies said that they would order them for me and I guess she didn't. I called 2 weeks later to see if they ever came in and they didn't see no order of contacts being ordered for me. So today(08/15/2020) I called and NOTHING!! Its frustrating when you pay so much money to go to the doctor and you can't get the things you need. I've been going there since I first started wearing glasses but after this I'm moving somewhere else.
Edit <<< The front desk staff is not very welcoming but once you get in the back your experience gets a lot better , both of the people I dealt with for my exam were very kind and informative and the woman who provided my prescription was also very nice and helpful. I would recommend for eye exams . (Only service I’ve had)
I never have an issue with the Doctor side, I love Dr. Hendley, been going to him for years. The retail side however is a different story. I dont mind waiting if everyone is busy waiting on customers, but at least acknowledge I am there and dont take someone before me that came in after me, like 15+ minutes after me. Schedule workers to work on obvious busy days like Saturday.
I have Dr.Henley and he's nice
Made appointment....called on day of appointment to confirm time. Was told that there was no appointment and the doctor had changed his schedule. No one called or notified me.
The service for repair is not good Asked the attendant to glue my soft nose peace’s in so they don’t come off anymore They have glued them onto my old pair but for some reason they refused to on my new pair And now I have to take another trip back to get it replaced again 2nd time
I got my glasses within 5 days. Awesome professional here.
I have been reading the reviews and am very surprised. I have always had a great experience here. Dr Hendley is my dr and I trust no one else with my eye care. In fact, when I suddenly began losing vision in one eye, Dr Hendley took so much time with me and went on to refer me to one of the very best neuro-ophthalmologists in the country at Emory University. Dr Hendley followed my at care every step. That was 19 years ago and Dr Hendley continues to be the only eye dr for me. I’ve never encountered anything or anyone negative at this practice. I have an upcoming appointment - and I will submit another review.
My son had eye appt. today he has been wearing contacts for 15yrs. Have been going to this office for years before they changed hands. When checking out he asked about ordering contacts. Was told they only saw him for glasses today and because he was not fitted today he couldn't get or order contacts because it had been over 1yr. He told them that was why the appt. was made so he could get contacts because he was out. They made him another appt. for the end of Jan. to get fitted. Never while we were still there did they offer to take him back to the back and try to correct this misunderstanding. I said so he's s.o.l. and they said yes. The office staff was very rude. The old staff would never have done this to us. Love the dr. but seriously thinking about finding another eye dr. for my family.
Do not book an appointment here if your situation is time-sensitive. Do not book an appointment here period. Not only did they push up my appointment by TWO HOURS without my knowledge, I then had to wait over twenty minutes PAST my appointment time. I get the sense that this operation is run very loosely and inefficiently. Also, the staff is EXTREMELY rude. The owners of this place might want to address that. I will never be visiting MyEyeDr. again, and I would urge everyone to go to Berg Eye Center across town instead. They are much more prompt and willing to assist there. P.S. Whoever reads and responds to these reviews is very obviously typing from a script or is a bot, so please don’t bother replying to this. Your canned responses do very, very little.
THE WORST TIME EVER SINCE I BEGAN WEARING GLASSES. I went in on a Sat. since I work Mon.- Fri. everyone seem up set out front. My tech was great and the Dr. came around after a few min. When back out front my insurance was eye ex. $10 frame free(cheap) and $35 ex service total bill $154.00 how I pass was total bill somewhere else. $168.00 went with some $300.00 frames my same Ins. paid the different and got them back in a week been 2 week and I'm still waiting on those cheap glass . guess I will go and pay out of pocket and get new lends put in my old frame. Never again!!!
The doctor who did my exam was rude! The front staffs were worse! They charged my credit card and said it didn't went thru. Called and said I have to bring in my credit card statement to prove that I actually paid for my exam. I asked to cancel my contact lens order. The manager Wendy said she would do it, however 4 months later it still not reversed on my insurance! I have been wearing contact lenses for 17 years and I never experience any thing like this before! Don't waste your time going to this place!
I have seen the same doctor here for over 30 years. Had to leave and see someone new recently because I had an emergency and the staff that answered was rude and said he didn’t have any appointments for a month. Very rude and this was the second time. I hated to see someone other than my doctor but hope My Eye Doctor figures out they have terrible employees dealing with customers.
Basically the same bad experience that everyone is having. Dr. Deloach is a wonderful doctor but the staff is terribly rude and unprofessional. My contacts are different strengths. The right one is for close reading and the left is for seeing farther away. When my left contact cracked they kept ordering me the right instead. They ordered it 3 times and kept charging me for it. When I asked them why are they ordering the wrong lens they were so rude to me. When the office manager got involved, she wasn't much better. She didn't want to refund my money at first because she said I kept them instead of returning sooner. I explained that I tried to leave the wrong ones with the receptionist but she would not let me leave them and this last time when I tried to leave them she told me again to keep them but I told her I was NOT leaving with the wrong lens and told her they needed to check what they are ordering. Then they said the Dr needs to check your eyes before we order again and they scheduled it for the next month! I can't see how to drive at night without that contact so when I got really upset, the office manager finally went to the Dr and he said he would see me that day. The staff acted like they were upset with me. What we discovered was the reason why they kept ordering the wrong lens was that they only had the right lens measurements. The Dr admitted to me that they had a disgruntled employee that messed up files before she left. He apologized to me repeatedly and said he would have been even more upset. He explained that he unfortunately have no control of the staff that is there. He made them refund all my money back and not one staff member nor the office manager apologized for the way they treated me. Please get Dr. Deloach better front desk staff or I won't be back.
All of the employees including the doctor are very helpful and friendly, I won't be going anywhere else.
I believe whoever is in charge needs to really read the reviews bc there needs to be changes . I stopped going here bc of how rude a lot of the staff was , especially at the checkout counter. I know a lot of ppl that have stopped going bc of this problem, obviously it's not being addressed bc reviews keep coming , on the rude issues
We were texted 2x to confirm appt and I physically called them and spoke with a person confirming the appt. We arrived to the office to find it canceled. This is 100% completely unacceptable! No one attempted to call or text us letting us know the appt had be canceled. We wasted gas and a whole afternoon getting there since we do not live in the area. DO BETTER MY EYE DOCTOR.
After the way I was treated today by Daloache..they really don't deserve one star. That Dr was so rude and unprofessional. My first pair of glasses were all screwed up but I gave them a second opportunity to get it right. When you walk in they may or may not acknowledge your presence. "Myeyedr" will never ever get another dime of my hard earned money.
I got my glasses within 5 days of exams. Very dependable.
The reviews of this Eye Care establishment are all over the place. It was difficult to make a decision based on what Is written here. So.... as I sit in a coustomer friendly, multi demographic, Aaesthetically appropriate environment it is with purpose that I comment. Saturday morning, walked in without an appointment. Encounter three staff members. Despite my Ragged, working stiff appearance, all are friendly, professional and present with an urgency to acomadiate. New Patient check-in is a breeze. Staff are sharp, professional and courteous. Not having an appointment I expected to wait. The Atmosphere is pleasant, staff occasionally acknowledge that I exist despite being very busy. Haveing been a health care provider for 30 years, it is with a high level of expertise that I Critique and grade this professional clinic. The coustomer service training that staff receive is aperant however, the staff are genuinely professional and truly care. The doctors are all well Established with exceptional individual reputations. I’m sure they are friendly as well but, I really don’t care as long as the care I receive is of the HIGHEST quality! Summary: You’re going to get more than you pay for. Look up the individual records on the providers. You CAN NOT ask for a better staff. The Atmosphere speaks for itself. Close: Highly recommended
My first experience with My Eye Doctor was a couple months ago. My exam was very thorough, and Anna Smith, who was the optician who helped me with my choice of glasses and such, was AMAZING! She really took her time to make sure I was comfortable with my choice of glasses. Anna had a great personality and made the appointment very easy and comfortable. I will DEFINITELY return here for my future glasses and contacts (because I wear both). And I will definitely refer my friends and family to this facility!
I would not recommend this business to anyone. Wasted several hours of my time. 1) I arrived and they had my name wrong - not even close 2) Took my insurance info 3) Had an appointment - took 2 hours to see the Doc 4) Went to order lenses for 2 pair of glasses - name still wrong, no insurance info loaded. 5) Ordered lenses - gave me some woman's paperwork 6) Left sunglasses to have lenses installed 7) Arrived to pick up lenses/glasses - no lenses installed in sunglasses, wait for lenses to be installed in both pairs. Can't see out of either pair. Everything is blurry. Lenses falling out of sunglasses. Tried to fix them but never fit lenses in sunglasses and wanted me to see doctor again. 8) Got a refund - can't use new prescription, no one will put old prescription in my sunglasses. I am screwed and will have to pay for another eye exam out of pocket if I want sunglasses fixed. Current lenses (old prescript) scratched and warped. Not a good experience from beginning to end.
I had a 9:00 am appointment and waited a hour to see the Doctor. Dr Deloach was okay despite being late. I was asked to sign a few papers upon check in and one was for a retinal photo. I signed it but was not notified there was an extra fee for it until check out. When I got there I was looking at the Oakley case and was told immediately that my insurance wouldn't pay for those as it is a "company policy". He also said 2 other brand names weren't covered. This was before he even knew what my insurance was. After the exam I was sent to a chair to wait. Another 15 minutes of sitting there waiting for someone to show me glasses or check me out. When a girl finally came over she told me Oakley's weren't covered due to the "manufacturer" as well as 3 other brands. One was Ray Ban which we just purchased there for my son on our insurance. We decided to get my prescription and go somewhere else. We were told we wouldn't find anywhere else that would accept our insurance toward Oakley's. We went to Sams and I got the pair of Oakley's I wanted and paid $14 after insurance. I paid My Eye Dr more than that for the picture they didn't let me know was extra. Oh and the receptionist was really really sick and coughing all over everything. I will not be back!
There is absolutely no excuse for making paying customers sit in a waiting room for two hours! I been to many eye doctors and have never had to wait this long!
They were so rude towards me. Worst place to go to. ????
Jennifer was so helpful! Was visiting from out of town and needed a quick fix for my glasses. Was in and out in 10 minutes!
Great establishment. All the staff was very friendly. Would recommend this eye doctor to my friends and family.
Had a great experience here. The Dr did a full eye exam. Dilation and photography. I am very satisfied with my new glasses.
Very rude staff, when I first call it sounds like they pick up the phone and slam the phone down while hanging up then when I call back they are rude with me, I decided not to order my contacts through them because this has happened at least 8 different occasions.
This was a great experience!! The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. My daughter had her eye exam and glasses very quickly, and I got some great Oakley shades...which they threw in a sunglass care package for free. Would definitely recommend this place.
I would like to say that I had a great experience working with the staff at My Eye Doctor. Management staff was great also. Will return to this location in the future. Dr. Hendley was great also.
Jennifer was super nice . Very helpful and extremely accommodating. I highly reccomend
I didn't have a long wait time at all. However, if my wait time was longer I still would be satisfied with my visit because Dr. Deloach was very thorough and detailed with my exam. He explained every step of my exam in detail and answered every question I had. My overall experience was great from the time I walked in the door until the time I walked out. GREAT staff.
I've been seeing Dr Deloatch for over 20 yrs.The problem has nothing to do with him and everything to do with the front desk staff.Courtesy is definitely lacking in their customer service to the point of actually being rude.
Dr. Garner and some of the receptionist are very rude. Will never go again.
I am a long term customer of My Eye Dr. The service I have received has been excellent. During my appointments, office visits and when I call in. However, lately...I am puzzled by what is going on. I had my eye exam in December. I have been calling for approximately 1 month now, trying to simply get contacts ordered like I normally do. I'm told someone will call me back and they haven't. I just called 2 days ago and I informed them of how difficult it has been to get my contacts ordered. The lady apologized and stated there was not a prescription in the system for me. She will check with the Dr and get back with me. Still have not heard from anyone. I called today asking the Dr to call me back because office manager was busy. What is going on there? Hopefully someone will pay attention to this message and call me so I can get these contacts ordered. As I read other reviews, I believe the disconnect may be with the office staff and not with the doctors. Concerned ????
Staff was wearing mask improperly, but wanted me to wear one, I explained my disorder, and they were rude and refused me service. They don't care about veterans. After my appointment was made they called me to reschedule because the Dr wouldn't be in. This seems to happen often. They violated the Americans with disability act, by not making reasonable accommodation for me after I informed them of my disorder.
If I could give less I would!! I have never dealt with such rude and inconsiderate people in a business atmosphere. I was ignored, then basically told they couldn't do anything for me. I will never go back there!!
