Although the staff are very nice, they refused to give me an appointment because I owe them $28. First, every other time that I have owed a small amount, I would just pay when I came in the next time. Second, they only sent me one bill and I had forgot about it, if they are so desperate for money, why didn’t they send me another bill? And third, they shouldn’t perform any exam or test that isn’t covered by my insurance unless they tell me it’s not covered and give me the option to decide if I want it done or not.

I'd love to have an opinion on their services BUT they decided the appointment I scheduled 2 months ago should be moved up another 5 months without ANY form of notice. In August I was given an appointment date for October 6th. Called today to confirm the time and am told my appointment isn't until February 23rd of 2022. So, had I not called I would've left work for nothing. Walmart it is! :)

Morganton eye has always been the place I would go to have my eyes checked out. I was born with a condition called strabismus. They didn’t want to do surgery that would help my eyes. Even as an adult they claim that “surgery for strabismus will not be useful for you” also claiming it’s cosmetic surgery rather than reconstructive surgery. If you have the same condition try to find a specialist instead of using these guys.

I honestly can not believe that Morganton Eye has so many bad reviews! Everyone was friendly staff,doctors were all friendly and professional! I interacted with with at least 5 people and it was pleasant , friendly and caring! ♡♡♡♡♡ Also service was quick and took less then a hour waited in waiting room for less then 2 minutes! Thank you for all your help I saw Dr.Lindsey today don't believe all the comments on here maybe they were having bad days when they wrote them! 5 star review ☆☆☆☆☆

Hey, these are really great physicians. I got my glasses here when I turned 17 and got checked again when my glasses didn't do right when I was 20. No I have to pay $90 to be checked and God knows what for glasses because I'm 22 so I haven't been back. Edit: Glad eye exams are free on Medicaid insurance now. I desperately needed my eyes checked and my glasses adjusted.

I can't really give an opinion on how the staff is or how promptly you're seen when you get there because I never got an appointment. I called three separate times, once weekly, and each time was directed to a desk and all 3 times was sent to voicemail when no one answered the called. I left my information exactly as it stated to on their message and the last two times even let them know that it was my second & third attempt at speaking to someone so that I could make an appointment. Unfortunately, I still never received a call from them so that I could make that appointment. I guess they're not only too busy to answer the phone, but also too busy to make appointments.

Ive been going here since I moved here in 2005. Just bc I havent been seen in 2 yrs Im treated like Im not a regular patient! Told earliest appt is March 2022! I had to argue w receptionist about my being a patient and having worse vision in one eye bc of floaters Ive had since last 2 visits have gotten worse. Dr told me to call immediately if things change! Well they have! So she gives me a January appt! Then cant even say Goodbye and hangs up!!!! Wow! Is this how you treat your patients?!

Never met such rude staff and dr!! The Dr. Was just a rude individual tried to tell me I could see when I couldn't after my eyes was dilated. You would have thought I was asking for prescription drugs instead of help seeing. Needless to say none of our family will return as they have all had horrible experiences with these unpleasant people!

So I’m driving along Sunday afternoon & i feel something bounce off my left eyeball. Had to be small cuz i barely felt it. Later that night i felt an irritation in that eye so i thought maybe i had some dust or something in my eye. Didn’t think anything about it really. I get to work & the irritation has turned into actual pain. I call the local eye doctor & they are booked until mid-April but because i had mentioned that i had pain - they made room for me last minute. The folks @ Morganton Eye Physicians were caring & completely professional. Diagnosis: minor abrasion of the left cornea. He gave me some pain drops & said it would heal within the week. Paid my copay & walked away satisfied. Thanks guys!

This place would have gotten a 5 star, if it wasn't for the RUDE and CONDESCENDING staff.. Don't plan anything else for your appointment day, seeing how a routine eye exam takes over an hour and a half..

I love my new glasses I can see so much better it's been over 5 years since I had glasses only thing is the staff could have been nicer and have a better sense of humor when im nerves i tell jokes and laugh no one would laugh 2 of them seemed like they didn't like being there LoL friendlier would be nice too but I'm satisfied with my glasses I didn't have a choice to go there regardless of how they were I needed them the staff just needs to be more friendly.

Most of the staff are great all of the physicians are great the place is very clean very elegant and large inventory of glasses. All of my family went there and I still go sometimes. It is located two doors down from the Advance Auto Parts. I mention it because it sets off out in the woods from the road. #eyeexam #glasses

Tammy is the best eye doc ever. She is always very professional anf explains how everything works with your eyes and brain..I have had several eye infections and she has always shown concern amd has given appropriate treatment!

Yesterday I needed to get my Mom's glasses repaired. I took them to Morganton Eye Physicians where both she and I have been patients for many many years. I went into the optical shop and walked up to the desk. There were several people at differed tables in the optical center trying on glasses. Behind the desk were 3 women in a room doing I don't know what. I stood at the desk for about 5 minutes during which more than one of these women looked at me and went back to what she was doing never acknowledging that I was standing there. Finally one came out and asked what I needed. I told her I needed to have my mom's glasses repaired and I wanted to drop them off and come back and pick them up. One of the women that was still in the room behind the desk spoke up and said " Oh you can't leave them. You have to wait on them. Glasses have been getting lost so you can't drop them off anymore." Getting lost???? I explained that I had an appointment and was not really able to wait at that time. I also asked how long did they think it might be until someone could get to them. Again the woman in the room away from the desk said " we are very busy. You might want to come back in a WEEK OR TWO" Really??? Here I stand with a pair of glasses the need repair, that were purchased from that office at a ridiculous price by a long standing patient and I am told that they could not repair them for a week or two???? That is customer service???? I responded that I would be back at another time without any intention of returning if I could find any other way of getting Mom's glasses repaired. From there I went to Walmart optical center. I got there about 20 mins before they closed for lunch. The 2 ladies in there were busy when I walked in so I looked around while I waited. In less than 5 minutes, a very nice young lady ( I am sorry I did not get her name) approached and asked if she could help me. I explained what I needed and she looked at the glasses and said that she was unsure that she could repair them but she would try. I told her I understood and if she could not we would figure out what to do from there. I walked around in Walmart for about 10 mins and came back. Not only had she fixed the glasses so that you could not tell they had ever been damaged, she did not charge me a dime. When I asked about paying, she said that was a service that they offered. Right then I decided they had gained my business. I will not be back at Morganton Eye Physicians again. If I need a service that cannot be handled by the staff in the optical center at Walmart, I will drive to an opthalmologist office out of town. Just saying that customer service counts for a great deal but courtesy and atitude is invaluable.

Seen where they kicked out a mother and son today. Because the 2 year old would keep his mask perfect like they wanted. Later found out kid had something in his eye reason he was upset and really not compliant. After this I will be taking all business else wear

I was nervous because of the review ratings but I had a wonderful experience and was in and out within an hour, including picking out eye glasses. They respected my choice not to dialate my eyes. And everyone was friendly and helpful. It's an all in one stop for eyes and I love that it's close to home.

I called for an eye exam and they told me it would 3 months and that is the quickest they could get me in. I called Wal-Mart Vision center and they booked me for next week. The first time I called when I originally scheduled the appointment the lady was rude and short. When I called back to cancel my appointment that lady was very friendly. I know places are short staffed due the pandemic but over 3 months out for a routine eye exam.......

I know that we are in unprecedented times right now, but the policies of this business are infuriating. I had an appt scheduled for this week, but it was cancelled by the office. It was appt that I made 2 months ago. I AM overdue for regular exam, but in my defense, my contacts have lasted a very long time because I wear my glasses most of the time. They (my glasses) are in pretty bad shape at this point. So I call to see if I can get a pair of trial contacts to last me until they open back up, but they absolutely refuse to get them for me per their policies. I'm done with Morganton Eye.

While staff in the back are usually friendly some staff at the front desk are usually not. Wait time is very long. I recommend clearing your schedule for the day if you have an appointment. I have always been satisfied with the doctors and have seen many of them.

I had to take my four month old daughter with me to my appt. Due to my husband being unexpectedly called into work that day. Obviously this wasn't ideal but life happens. The doctor I saw was rude when he walked into the room and saw I had a baby with me alone. He then proceeded to make me put her into her carseat while he checked my eyes. He spent all of three minutes in the room with us after we had been waiting for an hour to be seen.

Had reaction to eye drops from a condition. Was told to come at 10:15 as an emergency,(eye was swelling). Sat there for 2 hours and taken to room and was told Tammy would see her regular appts before me. She came in 45 mins later and said she told them to tell me to come in at 1:00. She was condescending and rushed thru the exam. Gave me a list of meds to buy and she was gone. I cried till I got home. Later, called that I was 10 mins late for appt and they made me reschedule. Then sent me a nastygram that if I missed again they would refuse to see me again. Go figure.

My sister went to have surgery on her eyes and came back out to a blurred vision the Dr. From this facility told us that her vision would come back in a couple of days it has now been almost a year soon and she has not got her vision back she had to quit college she is 30 years old she is now laying in the bed all the time she can't get up to cook or do nothing on her own

Let me start by saying the doctor's and staff were nice, however there is a $30 prescription fee which is ridiculous because I am there to get a prescription for glasses so why would I be charged for the prescription? Shouldn't that be included in the charge for seeing the doctor? But my issue is with the eye glasses store, my insurance does not cover eye glasses so they told me about discontinued lenses where you could get the glasses made for $165. Which is a good deal. What they did not tell me was that those glasses and frames would not be covered by any kind of guarantee because they are discontinued. 3 months later the arm fell off of my eyeglasses. I took them in and was told that they have no guarantee because they are discontinued lenses. I was not told this when I bought them. The girl tried her best to find an arm to match my glasses and was unable to. So they super glued the arms straight out on my glasses so they don't fold it was the only fix left for her to do. My problem is if you are selling stuff, granite they were cheaper but they should last more than three months. Even though the manufacturer may not guarantee the frames because they are discontinued, the place selling them should for at least a year. I was trusting the Morganton reputation when I bought them, and not for nothing but I bought a pair of sunglasses too that I had to return three times before they were correct. Even though the people here are nice I will never buy glasses here again.
