A few weeks ago my family member went in for a scheduled visit and after TWO hours of waiting, he was finally seen. No apology or explanation was offered. After the visit he needed to schedule cataract surgery, but they did not schedule it that day, again with no explanation given. They told him they would call him to schedule. After waiting for weeks, they NEVER called, so he reached out to them. He was again told that they would "call him back' because the person who does the scheduling was not in. So there hasn't been a person to schedule it for two weeks?! This is unacceptable, inconsiderate, and unprofessional. Everyday he waits for this appointment from AEC, is a day his health and safety is at risk. AEC, the citizens of Elizabeth City are expecting better service, especially our older population. Please find ways to improve your service soon.
10/22/21 Despite the response from 'owner', here we are weeks later my family member has STILL not been scheduled for cataract surgery by Albemarle Eye Center in Elizabeth City. It appears that "looking into my concerns" did not consist of taking any real action to resolve them. Is this your 'best regard'? Is this how your patients are treated where scheduling an appointment is virtually impossible? Your website says you are the 'best Eye Care Center in Elizabeth City'. If this was the case, the poor customer service is certainly proving this to be false. My family member who is a patient and likes the doctor he sees, has been frequently calling to try get a service scheduled that he desperately needs and can not get scheduled, just told to call back, call back. How many calls does it take to get an appointment?? The doctor told him he needs to have the cataract surgery. Why do you keep telling him to call back? What is the problem? Most professional medical facilities work with the patient to schedule procedures. He doesn't even get a proper follow-up call from your office. Everyone deserves the same respect and consideration. I am asking someone to contact him today to get this procedure scheduled as soon as possible. I'd be happy to discuss my concerns in detail with you.
