Here you will see all the feddbacks of real people who consume the services of North Toronto Eye Care (Ophthalmologist) in Cumberland House (Canada).
At present this firm receives a score of 4.3 stars out of 5 and this score has been based on 127 reviews.
As you can read, the average score it has is high, and it is founded on a large number of feddbacks, so we can conclude that the valuation is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to give feddbacks when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Ophthalmologist is classified in the category of Eye care center.
Very friendly environment. Everyone in the office works very systematically..very details explaining what is going to be done to you and for a reason, that makes me very relax for the personnel to work on my EYES. Good works, Doctor and associates..keep it up
I had 2 appintments with same reason with different dates and then I have to visit another location with 2 appointments again after meet doctor. I don't know why so many appointments requres. It needs to be consider as paient perspective.
Excellent service , great follow up after surgery. will recommend to any one for eye care.
Very pleased with the service and experience I get every time I visit North Toronto Eye Care. Professional service, polite staff, minimal wait times.
A friendly, totally safe experience having the eye testing. My technician was wonderful and I was the only person in the clinic at that time. This is my second visit in the pandemic and instruments were wiped down while I was in the examining room. Staff on the phone and doing testing are excellent. Very professional and safe environment.
Horrible attitude of Dr. Le. Probably she is the worst doctor I have ever met in my life. Unlike many reviews here, I did not wait for hours. My waiting time was half an hour, which is acceptable. Maybe they were rushing to keep the appointments flowing. It might be the reason why Dr. Le was rough and overly dilated my eyes which lasted 10 hours. I couldn’t do anything whole day. I felt like I was pushed out of the office after the exam. No explanation on my eyes. She almost threw a piece of paper titled Meibomian Gland Dysfunction and Blepharitis. She was kind enough to circles all the subtitles though.
Very profesdional
Went there at 11:45 for my appointment ND nobody saw me till I politely asked if something was wrong at 2:15. Immediately I was put on an express queue and cleared within 30 minutes. They did 4 tests for a possible Glaucoma diagnosis and the doctor was amazing. Would have given them 5 stars if not for the glitch in the system.
Very good diagnosis, treatment and follow-up by Dr. Tran Le. Other support staff also provided great service
I was referred here by my dermatologist and the experience was very good. Doctor Tran Le is a great professional.
They have horrible service.. I left 5 messages on voice mail and no call back.. Ive also waited OVER 45 MIN on the phone for someone to answer because they were not returning my messages.
Having cataracts i did not know when or how quickly they would get to a point where I would be unable to cope with the activities of daily living. When my optician made it clear to me that I must have them taken care of by Dr. Rabinowitz. My journey began with a visit to North Toronto Eye Care and meeting with a team from check in at front desk to many tests by a team of highly trained specialist who were exceptionally kind. They measured my eyes for replacement of lens! Many many people waiting for similiar procedure all knowing the impact of lessened sight on their lives. How grateful to have a doctor/surgeon Dr. Rabinowitz who had so many people waiting to see him for his gift of micro-surgery. His exceptional professional and regard of his patients who makes them feel comfortable in his expertise. His clinic does great work daily and deal with I am sure very difficult situations. I am thankful for his care and surgery on my eyes replacing the lenses on both eyes so that I am able to live again and experience what a wonderful world like the song by Louis Armstrong. It’s my liberty to give North Toronto Eye Care and Dr. Rabinowitz full respect and I would recommend for everyone who experiences eye problems. ???????? Go see your optomologist/optician soon don’t delay!
It was effortless, seamless and painless having 2 cataract removal surgeries done with Dr. Rabinovitch. Less painful than taking a sliver out of my finger! Nice people from the receptionists to the doctors. And now I have great vision!!!! I would recommend their services to anyone.
Thank you Dr.Yau and team for fitting me in yesterday. I appreciate being fit into an already busy schedule. I have been to another optometry facility where I had to wait more than 6 hours to be seen by one very over worked doctor. I travelled from Barrie and even though I waited a couple of hours at your clinic, I found that the service and process was effective. I had emergency laser surgery yesterday to repair a retinal tear and Dr. Yau was amazing as he performed the procedure and explained the whole process prior to completing. I have read other reviews and how people have complained about the wait times etc. but honestly I didn't mind waiting a bit for the quality care and professional service I received. Thank you again, and see you in two months!
Very well organized and clean and safe environment. The staff are well trained and very professional. I have been with Toronto eye care for over 6 years at its Elmwood location and the eye doctor did my Lazer cataract surgery and was performed very professionally and l am very happy . And now my new doctor Tran Le took great care on my visit last week and found everything fine with my eye.Thank you doctor Tran Le and see you on my next visit next year.
Dr Rab the owner of the center is amazing. At first I was skeptical about my mom getting her cataract surgery remove from this place, due to some of the negative review s. However, after speaking with the owner about some of the reviews online he re assure me that everything is going to be fine, regarding my Mom surgery. Every time I had a question he would take the time to answer my question and he was honest as well when and answering. My mom got both of her eye done recently January and February 2019 wit him and she is happy with the results. I do recommend this place the wait time is Long but worth it. Thanks DR Rab.,...
This appointment was for my 13 year old daugter and we waited for it for more then a month. Parking was full and you have to pay for it, but that's nothing to compare to what we saw in the office. When we got upstairs our waiting room had no free chairs, because the tiny room was overcrowded. I came back to receptionist and she told me its 2-3 hours waiting time(!). I felt it's a very poor management to make people wait for so long for a pre-scheduled appointment, unfair to us and had to cancel it. When your doctor refer you to this office, take this in consideration.
Terrible experience in this place. Appointment was at 9 am but seeing Dr. Le at 10 am. . Meanwhile she was so distracted with her cell phone and texting that I couldn't even finish one sentence talking to her without interruption. Her excuse was she is the only doctor on that day. Never go there again. She get paid nicely every time a health card scanned in North Toronto Eye Care.
I was happy to know Dr. And office members they make me feel comfortable during my first-time visiting, thanks so much your help!
I had surgery with dr hess she is absolutely amazing .I had problem for almost 5 years after the surgery I could not believe that the problem with eye is gone I highly recommend dr Hess if you have any surgery for your eyes . Thanx again dr hess you are the best that’s all I can say .
In all honesty, no matter how good the doctors may be at this clinic, the appointment system and management is atrocious. The way they treat their patience and potential patients is beyond ridiculous. They make you an appointment which can be a few months away, and with a few weeks to go till your appointment, they call and reschedule. My father is elderly and he has had nothing but issues every since his procedure and all he wants to do is go see the doctor that performed the cataract surgery in the first place. We have now had our appointment rescheduled due to "overbooking" and "scheduling conflict". Save your time and try and find a more professional clinic and STAY AWAY from this place
HE IS VERY KIND AND PROFESSIONAL.
Very well organized clinic during pandemic covid-19 , care and prevention for patient safty was great . Some Staff are nice, specially (FARANAK ) she is the best one , We were waiting few months to get appointments for my 2 aged seniors , finally we got friendly , caring and excellent manner if miss Faranak . Special Thanks for Dr. Azadi and Faranak . I highly recommend her assistance is a asset for North toronto Eye care clinic . Rosan
Always satisfied with my visit tks.
I've been coming here for 13 years now with my whole family - the optometrist Clement Der, and staff are all great. He is very nice to talk to and has excellent knowledge! The BEST in the business!!
The assistant doing the scans for eyes was so damn rude and abusive. No permission asked and begun forcefully adjusting my mother’s head and clearly pushing her against the machine because it was taking long. Then had the audacity to complain she was being extremely difficult-troublesome in front of us and towards her coworkers. she even smirked and chided expecting me to hop on her train of sympathy for her work. Even her other coworkers had bad expressions visible listening to her and looked solemn regarding the situation. Like she keeps yelling look forward and uses her finger INSTEAD OF THE RED LIGHT to guide her... Compared to the previous sessions I had these past two years, this was clearly the inexperience of the assistant. Be warned people, if she’s Asian, make sure they are keeping their hands and feet to themselves during the exams in area b. At this rate, a really elderly person might get injured or people will feel uncomfortable with being touched like that. Was a 4/5 due to wait time and availability, but that single experience sends the score to 1/5. No matter how pleasant the receptionists were, or helpful the assistants in areas d-e were, or experience with the doctor was...
A very friendly environment, both the doctors and the receptionist are nice and warm.
Had to wait a bit but the assistant was great. Was quick and perfect with the tests.
My mom went to this clinic and Dr Lau did an Amazing job. She was treated at this clinic in a very professional way The staff was amazing specially Ashanna.
I’m not even sure if this place deserves a star at all. First off, throw anything you thought was true about having an “appointment” in the garbage. There will be a line of at least 5 people to check in (although it does sometimes move quickly.) They have a sign at the front desk telling you to be prepared to wait 3 hours more than your appontment time. (?????? sorry what) Secondly, BRING A LAWN CHAIR. There are NEVER any chairs, regardless of having like 8 different waiting rooms. The place is always packed, terribly unorganized, there are only ever rude and unhelpful staff. They have you running from one room to the other, sitting in different waiting rooms every 20 minutes, and god forbid you ask any of the staff for some direction. You are referred right back to the front desk. The long wait times aren’t even the worst part about this place - although 3 hours TO SEE A NURSE is a fantastic addition!! If you are planning to do anything else with your day after visiting North Toronto Eye Care - don’t. Save yourself the time and trouble and go somewhere else. 90000 thumbs down.
I had eye surgery performed by Dr Tran at the North Toronto Eye Care Clinic. Dr. Tran is very knowledgeable, thorough and pleasant and so it her staff. I felt very safe at the surgery clinic and the Elmwood Avenue office as their Covid-19 protocols was very good. I would definitely recommend Dr. Tran and this clinic.
Very professional and I felt very thorough. I just wish I would I met the dr and did a follow up with the results of the machine tests during the same appointment.
Good Doctor . My only issue is they do not take feedback well. Even after I said sorry for giving correct feedback, that they didn't take well, i was met with sarcasm
The clinic and service for my Father was excellent. They took their time and ensured all the tests were done effectively and accurately. Dr. Tran Le has been extremely supportive ensuring my father has been getting the proper care for his eyes. She explains the situation clearly and enables you to have confidence that my fathers eye care has been taken care of ... Overall, excellent service.
I've been having trouble with my dry eyes for a few years now and have tried several different medications. I was referred to Dr. Waisberg and was looking forward to finally seeing a specialist who could hopefully resolve my eye problems. My appointment was scheduled for 12:15pm. I didn't see Dr. Waisberg until 4:30pm!!!!!!! I was absolutely livid with my experience here. It was a zoo and the staff are so incredibly UNORGANIZED. All the patients in the office complained to one another about how ridiculous their system is and the assistants let patients see the doctor before me when their appointments were scheduled after me. At that point I got up and complained. My entire work day was wasted. What doctor office tells their patients to arrive for a 12:15pm appointment if the patient isn't going to see a doctor until 4 hours later. When I finally saw Dr. Waisberg he prescribed me medication that I already tried and that I told him DID NOT WORK. He told me to book a follow up appointment but I booked one with my eye doctor instead. He is a nice man, but him and his team need to do something about how they run their office. Won't be going back there.
It is always a pleasure to deal with Ashanna. Her smile always make me feel better.
I had a great experience. Everything was explained to me and that made me feel calm
Everyone at the North Toronto Eye Care at 7 Elmwood Avenue are very friendly and professional. They make you feel comfortable and relaxed for all eye examinations and treatment.
Fantastic experience with Dr Le and all staff here
Excellent level of care. Latest technology. Thank you dr. Melville and dr. Rabinovitch.
Nice staff and doctors but the wait was nuts don’t know if that’s how they schedule everything but it was ridiculous. Pack a lunch, phone charger and patience when you go.
One of the worst run facilities I've ever been to. I was referred here by my optometrist after I begun to have issues with dry eyes. Aside from the fact that you have to wait minimum 6 weeks to get an appointment, there are so many problems with this place. I went to maybe 7 or 8 appointments here and not once did I see the doctor within an hour of my scheduled appointment. Most times I would spend at least 3 hours here just for a 10-15 minute appointment. I've never been to a place where so many patients are complaining at the same time (for good reason) about how long they have been waiting. The office says it is out of control given that it is an emergency clinic as well but I don't see how that makes sense at all because every time I've gone the wait times are insane and all I see are patients who had appointments. Maybe other departments here are different but the dry eye clinic (Dr. Waisberg) is an absolute joke. Not to mention the lack of service you get here. After paying hundreds of dollars for treatments I was told my dryness had improved according to the numbers, however I still felt pretty similar to how I did prior to them. I was told it would be "something I would just have to live with for the rest of my life and try to manage". While Dr. Waisberg is definitely knowledgeable , it seems like he often doesn't care and is just going through the motions. There are so many other issues with this place and that's why I finally decided to switch doctors. Although I had to run all the tests again, it was well worth it as I spent 3 hours at my new doctor however I was with the doctor the entire 3 hours and was provided with different options to treat my eyes. Avoid North Toronto Eye Care if you value your time, money, and sanity.
Save your time. Went her because my eye doc referred me to a specialist here. They called multiple times to confirm my appt and after I called back to confirm, they STILL kept calling to confirm. Ok, no biggie. Then the day of the appt I called them back to say I'm coming (they called AGAIN) and their answer was that my mom cancelled the appointment (which isn't possible since she lives thousands of miles away). Weird. Then they said my husband cancelled it (totally not true--he thought they were outright crazy to say that). Even weirder. Ok fine, they re-book me in the original time slot. Come close to appt time, I get to the building and see it's a $5 parking fee (they told me it was free on the phone). Then I get to the office and they tell me my doc is at the OTHER location today (when were they going to tell me this??). I expressed my disappointment but the receptionists go on about their work unconcerned. What do they care- they're just there for their paycheques. I saw mixed Google reviews before coming here and now I see why people give them 1 or 2 stars. Nice way to run a professional office. Not. You're not cut for a successful business, face it. Seriously, save your time and don't let OHIP pay unprofessionals.
I had a chalazion on each eye for the last six months. I had been on oral and cream antibiotics , for these months. Although it would get better , it would keep coming back. I really did not want to do the surgery because when I researched online it was painful and not always a success. However for me it was the best decision I made ,and I am so glad I got it done. It is a very quick surgery and I recovered in a few hours. Dr. Hess was so good. I was back to work the next day.
Efficient, friendly staff. They follow COVID-19 prevention protocols including taking temperatures of patients upon arrival, wiping down chairs in the waiting room, and advising people not to arrive before their scheduled appointment in order to avoid having too many people in the office at one time. They explain the procedures thoroughly and answer all questions.
Dr. Tran Le is the epitome of efficiency with a heart that cares for each of her patients. From day one I have had the best care possible at North Toronto Eye Care Clinic. The staff are courteous and helpful. Dr. Tran Le and her team are truly worthy of the highest commendation for the work they do. Thank you Dr. Tran and Linda and Stephanie and Shari. God bless!
Doctors don't even wash their hands before they put their fingers in patient's eyes to change lensses after surgery . So disgusting. They just try to show they are high class by giving away eye care bags etc. yet don't follow the basics of health care. Not recommending to any one. My mom has gone through lost of trouble because of this.
A very positive and good experience.
Dr. Hershenfeld is professionl, patient and kind. So is the nurse there.
the worst clinic i have ever seen in my life. they never care about patients. I called them many times and left voice messages to give me appointment with Persian speaking doctor but it is already 2 months and every time i call them they say OK we put notes but no action taken. ????
Horrible time magement and service! What's the point of giving appointment times if you will make the patient wait for 2 hours before seeing the doctor ? I have no doubt of the capability of the doctors but it's hard to get pass a bad overall experience and wait time.
Brutally unorganized. Failed to explain that the appointment would last a minimum of an hour and a half as well as failed to mention that a list of medications should be brought...these questions were asked before hand.... When I asked about this answers we got were a bunch of excuses, running around the answers all the while never with a simple apology or a simple answer for the problem.
Very professional.
I had a great experience yesterday getting my cataract surgery on my first eye! Before my operation date, I had so many questions and was such a pest to the receptionist and she was gracious and answered everything to my satisfaction. Although my actual appointment time was a bit earlier than the actual operation time, the wait is extremely comfortable in the grey leather lounging chairs with just a few other patients 4 to 5 waiting with you. The staff are incredible. They know you are nervous and do everything to make you feel comfortable and confident. They look after your needs constantly. Kudos to Svetlana, Farah and I wish I remembered all their names who were so patient, positive and kind. I got cold and was immediately given a most comfortable cozy blanket! Dr Lam is fantastic. The operation itself was painless and fast. I actually felt like i was watching a psychedelic show! Great immediate follow up care especially the very welcomed hot coffee and delicious muffin! Today I feel good and my eye is regaining good sight! Thanks everyone!
Professional and caring.
A well organized established process that was executed without flaw. Really, staff were very accommodating and helpful every step of they way. Compassion and understanding for the uncomfortable measurements was very much appreciated. Prompt responses to any questions. Explanations were very much in layman's terms- easily understood. Thank you for removing the need for eye glasses. Highly recommend North Toronto Eye Care !!
I am very unhappy with my service here. Apart from Dr Pesin who was very nice, I found the entire staff and team RUDE and unprofessional. It looks like they don't care even about these bad reviews. It's like a factory moving people in and out with zero personal touch or thought. They are so busy they just don't care. The assistant rudely and abruptly told me about my procedure and then when I asked further questions about what she (the assistant) was about to do she told me I am 'nervous'. I will NEVER come here again and i will tell people not to come here too.
What can I say, they are all amazing! Dr. Rabinovich and Dr. Jess Melville, amazing and very professional. They know their stuff. Would certainly recommend them. I have 20/20 vision now. Thank you very much all.
Outstanding staff. Extremely professional. Very efficient and caring.
EXCELLENT Results!!! I can see extremely clearly now!!! I recently had surgery performed by Dr. Ted Rabinovitch, that is called Femtosecond Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery with Monovision Aspheric Lenses at North Toronto Eye Care. Dr. T. Rabinovitch, Dr. J. Melville and all the staff were extremely caring and kind throughout the entire process. Before surgery, I contacted one of the staff members (Ana) various times with many questions and she always responded pleasantly with answers. I had worn glasses and then contacts since I was eight years old. Over the years, my vision had worsened, especially the last few years when I developed cataracts. My prescription was -17 and now after surgery on both eyes, I can see 20/20 without glasses because of the monovision correction, and I do not require glasses for reading. I would highly recommend Dr. T. Rabinovitch, Dr. J. Melville, and the entire staff at North Toronto Eye Care for your surgery! Thank you so much!!! Laura
Good doctors, management is a DISGRACE!! They take too many appointments and make everyone wait 4 hours in the waiting room when they already have appointments. Shame on you! Patients are mostly seniors who can’t stand waiting for hours standing up - when there are no more chairs. I saw a woman throw up on the side because they left drops in her eyes for too long which made her dizzy. Only then did they pay attention to her.
I had an amazing experience with Dr Theodore Rabinovich. He is professional, friendly, warm, definitely knows his job. I was almost blind and he removed the cataract in my eye which made me see well again. He also has amazing staff who are really welcoming. I will definitely recommend him to anyone who wants A1 service and excellent service. Thank you so much Dr Theodore. Regards, Georgiana Mihajic
I have been a patient of Dr. Tran for the past years. She and her entire team have provided great care over this time. I really appreciate that I don't have to wait for a long time to see her. Her communications are clear and concise. She responds to all questions.
Dr. Rabinovitch & Surgical team are exceptional. I was so impressed with my Mother's cataract surgery, she received top notch care all the way. At 85, she can see better then me... I was amazed how the Eye Center @ 2 Champayne Drive, was so professional and organized ! Special thanks for the Surgical Nurse Fatah, she was very caring with my Mother. I Highly recommend anyone who is looking for a Great Eye Dr. to look no further.... I am thinking of correcting my vision...one day and Dr. Rabinovitch... will be called on.. Good Luck Team for your continuing professionalism 10 Stars!!!
Despite of being busy, NTEC staff and doctor Tran Le did what they could to make my visit a success. Thank you all.
Arrived on an emergency basis. Lisa and front desk provided me with exceptional service. Didn't mind the short wait as there was plenty of seats available in the waiting room. The staff was knowledgeable, helpful and caring. They provided me with excellent service and would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone. Left me very reassured and confident about my appointment. This place was extremely organized, clean, and professional. Thanks to all for all your hard work!
I am so thrilled with the outcome of my cataract surgery! I had very high myopia & astigmatism & have worn (very thick) glasses or gas permeable contact lenses since I was a young child. Dr. Rabinovitch & his team performed miracles! I still wake up & automatically reach for my glasses & I think to myself that I need to take out my contacts, until I remember that I don’t wear them anymore. I fully expected that I would need to wear some form of corrective lenses post surgery but have been pleasantly surprised. The FLARCS technique & Dr.Rabinovitch’s expertise & skills made a world of difference for me & i’m so happy. I also appreciate the time he took to explain everything to me & allay my anxieties. I only wish I had done it sooner. I also want to thank his nurse Svetlana who was exceptional in advance of the surgeries & on the surgical days. She provided excellent teaching, physical care, reassurance & support which helped me feel calm & confident about the procedures. Thank you to this great team!
I don't usually write reviews but my mom and I had such an exceptional experience at North Toronto's surgical centre that I had to. My mom went into surgery today and I found this facility to be one of the most seamless medical clinics I have ever been to. The staff was efficient, helpful and friendly. I would and will recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good eye surgeon with great staff. Thank you for all your hard work.
Great eyes care centre.
Dr.Rabinovich is a terrible doctor! Very rude and incompetent! Doesn't do anything, besides talk nonsense. All he is good at is wasting the patients time. No help at all.
My husband was referred for emergency laser eye surgery at the Oakdale clinic with Dr. Gary Yau. There were too many patients but the clinic is well organized. It was a long wait but worth it. Dr. Yau thoroughly checked my husband's condition and very well explained what the surgery will be. Had our 1st follow up yesterday and basically had no problems at all. Thanks to Dr. Yau and clinic staff. Excellent experience so far. Will have my check up this month end with another doctor and hopefully get the same service.
Great experience. They were right on time with my appointment. The tests were thorough and everything was explained. Very good customer service.
Friendly, thorough, timely
Very slow, unorganized. They care mostly about money. From the moment you park to the moment you want to see a doctor. We wanted to see the doctor for just a consultation, so far waited 3 hours, no sign of doctor but they keep throw tests on us to get money from OHIP, tests that might be needed for surgery that we did not choose to do it here or not and that’s why we booked the consolation to discuss the plans and price, that’s it. It is basically the money from taxpayers that came from unnecessary tests they do! Very unfair and disappointing. ------------------------------------Update: Jan 30th Dr. Theodore Rabinovitch called me on my private cell and spoke to me about the above google review in a very angry way. He told me: you MUST NOT write any negative comments anywhere online and threatened me if I write any comment, he will follow the case with his lawyer. (Which shocked me!) I said I did not complain of singular person but about the inefficient clinic system. He also mentioned I am not allowed to enter the clinic anymore. (I did not know he is the owner of whole facility until he told me). He cancelled all my father’s appointments and surgery scheduled with him, although my father waited more than 1 year to see him and given almost 9 months for the surgery from now. He behaved very bad and offensive. I got ashamed and disappointed that he is a doctor in Canada as doctors should respect people and should know ethics. How should I trust to leave my father’s eyes in your hand when you are threatening me that you are angry and if you do surgery you might harm him? This is my opinion and I have the right to express my opinion and this is Canadian democracy. Based on Canadian acts rights and freedoms, every single individual has the right to comment and freely talk about a situation in the frame of law. He also acted not fair towards where I come from and my background. He mentioned “Go home then”!!!! after when I talked about such abuse from the health care system. I am Canadian and this is my home, no one can talk to me like that in a multicultural country like Canada, I replied. He was keep threatening me and made me so angry, sad, and caused me anxiety.
Excellent doctor and excellent service
Had an 8:45am appointment. Only upon arrival was I informed that not only would the appointment take 2 hours but that there is a 2+hr wait time. Needless to say I had to leave. People have jobs. Completely incompetent.
I did a minor surgery on my right eye lid today and Dr. Pesin was fantastic! She is professional and, I got the sense that she really loves what she does. She told me exactly what to expect, which made me feel comfortable and she was easy to talk to. Overall, I felt like I was in very good hands.
A very knowledgeable and detailed oriented ophthalmologist. Dr. Le is also genuinely a kind individual who cares about her patients. Same goes with her staff in North Toronto Eye Care clinic. Very caring and helpful to patients. Thank you all!
This is an incredible office in all respects - even with an incredible flow of patients both Dr. Rabinovitch and his support team are consistently professional, light hearted, accommodating and so helpful. I can't thank them enough for the care I've received for so many years.
Had cataract surgery done at this location. Efficient operation with very friendly staff - results worked out well.
My Cataract surgery was completed on November 5th.2019.I am completely satisfied with the outcome and wish to extend gratitude to the outstanding staff of nurses, counsellors and technicians. I would highly recommend North Toronto Eye Care and especially my surgeon Dr.T.Rabinovitch a very professional and caring Opthamologist. Thank you all very much.
Dr. Yau is very patient and knowlegable specialist who explained details of your problem and also very effective and efficient in solving the your questions regarding your eye problems.
Wonderful Doctor. Very well-run office. Highly recommended
My mom was treated at this clinic in a very prompt and professional way on September 20th. Dr. Pesin was very calm as she treated my moms serious eye illness (scratch on her cornea). We are very thankful to Dr. Pesin and the receptionist Ashanna who were incredibly helpful at this efficient and caring clinic.
Hi there: I arrived and followed the COVID-19 protocol inside the clinic, waited and was called to see Dr. Tran, she checked my eyes and prescribed some medication to improve my recovery. All done in a professional manner. Thank you
Caring and helpful, I have enjoyed my visit, I am a Glaucoma patient expect eye pressure check up more frequently, this arrangement could be a better follow up. Thanks.
From the first time I walked in the door I was hit by all the literature for the covid 19 protocols for the office. They were clearly written and in plane site. The next item was a person who was in the protocol PPE and asked me all of these questions. Than Rose at the front desktop was so helpful and polite and honest with me. Rose sent me to exactly where I had to go to see a person named Syliva, Again I was asked specific questions to verify who I was and than explained in terms I could understand what was going to happen in the eye examination. She was so polite and courteous as well as professional. Sylvia than sent me to my next person who was Gigi and she was not only the polities, she walked me through the eyes test and even helped me to keep my eye lids open since they would not open all the way up. It was incredible. I had to sit while there was 2 people in front of me for the next eye exam. That person was Ally and he was so amazing in patience with the elderly patient. It took a while to get the test down with the patient and Ally just would not give up with the patient until the test was done. He kept on explaining to the person what to do in such a soothing voice and calm voice. The person just could not stop making mistakes and Ally kept on saying, thats ok, we will get it, just relax, take a breath, we will continue when you are ready. Thats what Ally did. When it was my turn, Ally told me to hold on a minute while he wiped down all the equipment and than told me to sit down. Ally explained what he was going to do and told me when to blink and when not to blink. Before I knew it the test was over and he explained that I was done and that the doctor would get my results. Ally made sure that I knew when my next appointment was and with who. I was told I could leave. Now with the pandemic, I had smoke coming from my running shoes since it too no time for me to leave the building. It was overall a good experience, but I am still afraid to got out. The place was very professional, fun, enjoyable, and trying to do their best to keep all the covid protocols in place, from getting off the elevators to the examination rooms. Thanks guys....Rose, you are the best!!!
Superb service year after year.
My mother had cataract surgery performed on both eyes by Dr. Rabinovitch with outstanding results. Dr. Rabinovitch is highly skilled, informative and compassionate about his job. He puts patients at ease and provides excellent results. All the staff are well-trained and pleasant to deal with. Kay always provided excellent service and went above and beyond expectations to assist patients.
I had retina laser surgery for my left eye after recommendation of doctor at North Toronto eye care. I had issues with dry eyes and was referred by other optometrist. Doctor convinced me to go for retina laser surgery for my both the eyes, perhaps I needed only for left eye. I am so disappointed after 2 months after surgery, My vision has become worse for left eye, I am so scared. I will be visiting doctor again soon in a month since they told 3 months visit is recommended but I wasn’t expecting my eyesight to become this worse. I will wait and see how it shapes up. New update - my appointment was cancelled because of covid. I never got a chance to see the doctor again. After more than a year now, I feel better as eye strength and vision has improved. Still giving two stars cos of side effects or post surgery issues.
Perfect experience - start to finish.
During my 2 recent appointments with NTEC as a new client, I have been very pleased with the care I have received. Dr. Le is AMAZING. After a thorough examination of my eyes, she alerted me to 2 diagnoses of which I was unaware and prescribed appropriate medications. She is also very pleasant, as are all the staff that I have met at NTEC. Whether it is scheduling, paperwork, eye examinations, testing or consultations, I have found the team at NTEC to be efficient, highly skilled and caring. My recent appointment with Dr. Le was equally, if not more, rewarding. Tests received confirmed a previous misdiagnosis although the treatment for now is the same. My eye pressures were down by 20%, possibly due to her direction to take one of the drugs in the morning, versus the evening. Dr. Le offers many valuable insights (e.g. optic nerve measurements) and suggestions during the visit. I also want to again compliment the technician for working with me to ensure the most correct test results are achieved.
Avoid this place because they are just interested in money... they do not care about patients.. I took my mother to this place for an appointment and had the worst experience in a healthcare facility... they are disorganized and the owner seems to not care about the patient.. I enquired about their booking systems and apparently they double book and even triple book appointments every 15 minutes... which is ridiculous. How can they double book every 15 minutes and care for patients properly. They also try to force you to pay for tests that the doctor should be doing.. I think if all the patients report them to the college of physicians they will shut this place down...
Dr. Robinovitch is absolutely AMAZING!!! I brought my mom in to get her eyes checked since she was having a few problems! He was spectacular went threw a step by step process of what needs to be done and what steps we should be taking next! I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for the highest level of professionalism!!! 5 STARTS!!
Very good and organized service.
Dr Tran wasn't only worry about my eyes but my whole well been. She sent me to Dr.Yau. I am so lucky . In North Toronto at 7 Elwood, they are all great , stating from Shary the magnifecent receptionist. THANK YOU.
He is a very patient and dedicated doctor. He thoroughly went over everything with me. Highly recommend.
Dr Lau is a real one! I came in with a pain problem, she showed genuine care and did everything she could to help. Would recommend.
DR Li is very professional in her approach. She is extremely thorough in her examinations. Dr Li is friendly and appears to be caring as well. I found her to be quite knowledgeable, in fact extremely well trained. She referred me to a top specialist and ordered the tests she felt I needed. The office was busy during my appointment but I did not have to wait too long. She did not rush me through my appointment. As I mentioned earlier, she was very thorough in checking out both my eyes, not only the eye I was referred to her about. I would definitely recommend her.
Took my dad for the first time to get checked up. Appointment went by pretty fast. Only thing that i didnt like was that one of the nurses there was im guessing in a bad mood and taking it out on the patients and my father. It really upset me... but everything else was okay next time i go i am going to make sure that he doesnt get her again.
nice and tidy staff and doctors
Very thorough and friendly service. Was helpful in explaining what she was doing and how to access the Phonax app.
Professional .kind Dr. Tran Le the best after a bad experience at different place (not North Toronto Eye Care) and different doctor. Thanks Dr. Le
Very friendly and nice staff. I was wellcome with “Ahdiye Kari” and she is professional in her job.
the environment is clean and tidy ,the staff is warm and considerate, and it's a good experience.
Been seeing Dr Tran for a good while /Very pleasant explains things to you / plus all the other staff that would do your eye test etc all very pleasant / Never had a bad experience there ) Even the receptionist very pleasant
Ever since last July I have been cared by Dr Le at this location at 7 Elmwood Ave. Prior to that I was once at 2065 Finch Avenue West – Suite 400. Dr. Le professional expertise and care has been paramount. I have no other words except more than awesome that I can use to describe her and my referral optometrist Dr. Bonnie Wan. From both of them, I rest assured to know my eyes have been and will be taken care with observations and treatments.
I'm quite pleased with my experience at NT Eye Care
Fake reviews everywhere. You can tell which ones are genuine. This place is atrocious in how they treat patients. They have you waiting 4-5 hours for an appointment that is already booked for a specific time. They also move appointments around to different times/locations without telling you, making patients (mostly elderly) waste their time or drive around needlessly. Before you get referred here, insist on getting sent somewhere else!! You'll appreciate it later.
Friendly staff, great organization in terms of booking appointments resulting in minimal waiting time. Waiting room and examination rooms are clean and well-kept. Overall great experience. Thank you!
Very positive experience. Staff very courteous and considerate. I appreciate Dr. Le's patience and clarity when Dr. Le explained my issues with dry eyes and my cataracts.
The whole experience was great. All staff friendly and making sure everything was wiped down, from the chairs in the waiting room to the offices. Explained what I needed to know and answered any questions I had. Highly recommend.
Fast and efficient service! Clean and modern office. Dr. Pesin was extremely thorough and took the time to ensure that all of my concerns were addressed.
Dr. Hess is good. Pleasant, efficient, articulate. Made my experience a pleasant one.
Dr. Rabinovitch performed cataract surgeries on both of my eyes... I can't say enough how happy I am with the results...no more glasses, I can see clearly (distance and close up), colours are brighter and sharp.. It's like a new outlook on life...I am so grateful to Dr. Rabinovitch and the entire staff at 2 Champagne Drive (Surgery Centre) for the outstanding service and care while I was there! Christian Forage
I got thread floater and flashing in one of my eye by saturday and I contacted this clinic by the evening when the clinic was closed and I got respond by email and phone immediately. I got an appointment this morning and I so happy how I got my exam and treatment very fast. I really appreciate the staff help and support. Oftalmologist staff are very professionals.
Friendly staff but the wait is ridiculous. It's quite a busy location and they do tell you that you should expect to spend 4 hours there but 4 hours seems a but excessive for appointment where you're doing an exam. Bring something to keep you entertained while you wait.
July 17, 2019 In recent years my diminishing eyesight has been a growing concern. At the suggestion of my optometrist, I was referred to Dr. Theodore Rabinovitch at North Toronto Eye Care. I was immediately struck by the thoroughness with which all aspects of my visual needs were diagnosed, assessed, and a course of action established wherein the uniqueness of my personal care needs were addressed. This treatment plan spanned 3 months and included multiple diagnostic tests, short conferences with various team members, an initial 6 week regimen of daily treatments for dry eyes, and 2 surgeries two weeks apart for laser-assisted cataract removal and the insertion of an IOL multifocal lens in each eye. All treatment has now ceased, and I am most pleased with all aspects in this journey. Most importantly, the recovery of my precious eyesight has been remarkable in all respects. I am able to see clearly at all distances with 20/20 vision. The procedures were painless, the staff supportive, and without reservation I recommend North Toronto Eye Care under the leadership Dr. Rabinovitch for consideration of all eye care needs. Great surgery. Wonderful results using laser surgery, with Dr. Rabinovitch. He is the best! Feels like a brand new pair of eyes and that I am 20 years old again. A fountain of youth for my eyes!
Equipped with an awesome array of ophthalmic instruments
State of the art. Clean. Dr Rabinovitch is a knowledgable doctor - and always keeps it real. Annesia the manager always makes sure things run smoothly. Great team
Dr. Lau is very thorough with his exam. He makes you feel very comfortable throughout your appointment. Very organized office.
Unfortunately I have to come here monthly as I have so many eye issues but fortunately I don’t mind one bit. I’ve been a patient of Dr Ted Rabinovitch for over 10 years. He has saved me from loosing my vision completely him and his staff treat me incredibly. I’ve been to other clinics and not one of them can compare to the magnitude of professionalism from the staff and drs. Thanks again Sharlene Cohan Israel
I only see Dr Der for routine eye exams, I seen him for 15 years, he’s really good, but this clinic is really lucky to have him cause I wouldn’t come here otherwise cause they don’t answer the phones! I tried for 2 weeks calling for appointment I just get voicemails! I call in morning or late afternoon no answer Finally I had walk in person just for appointment date.
Excellent place, excellent service, the protocol for COVID-19 very well followed!!
Doctor Tiiu Hess, was very unprofessional and rude. She was screaming instructions at my elderly father who is not fluent in English. This was not normal at all. I never seen a doctor scream at patients before. She did not want to repeat her self. She has no patience or respect and I would never recommend her to anyone.
Doctors are good but reception need to do better job with appointments and attitude toward customers.
Excellent service, I will recommend.
As a patient of Dr Yau for a serious eye condition for several months now, I can attest not only to the professional treatment received by Dr Yau but also the phenomenal support from Mirella Mauro in the front office. Mirella has gone above and beyond to help through an emotional, confusing and challenging time. Her empathy and caring support is a great complement to Dr Yau’s professionalism.
The Staff was very professional and my all my tests were done swiftly, I liked going there????
Review sent from another email: Both my mom and I had cataract surgery done in both of our eyes at the Champagne location. Every single staff there were so welcoming and friendly and made our time there so amazing. They all go out of there way to ensure you’re happy and comfortable before and after surgery! I will definitely recommend this location to my family and friends when they’re in need of surgery. Thanks so much!! - Connie Mazzone
Very unprofessional clinic. My family will not be booking here again. Appointment assigned to review test results (OHIP does not cover) and when called clinic after waiting almost 2 hours beyond the appointment time, told it’s an appointment sometime between 9:00am and 3:00pm. At 4:15pm finally got a call stating the doctor was tied up with an emergency. No notice of another appointment or apology. Now we are out the cost of the test. Was this a money making scam?
Amazing Atmosphere! Amazing Staff!! Would really recommend! Mirella and her staff are very friendly and professional!
Dr. Tran Lee was very professional and explained everything clearly. They asked for COVID symptoms, checked temperature and cleaned equipment between patients.
Very friendly, competent and efficient service!
I had cataract surgery on my left eye in May this year and RLE surgery on my right eye three weeks after to correct my nearsighted problem. After follow up checkups with Dr Melville and my optometrist, I am now confirmed having 20/20 vision after years (more than 30) of wearing glasses, contact lenses and later progressive glasses with thick lenses. I am completely satisfied with the consulting service at North Toronto Eye Care, it lasted for about 2 hours with all the relevant tests performed in a very efficient manner. I mostly consulted with Dr Melville who was very friendly, she took her time to explain patiently my eye test results and assisted me in choosing the package which yields the best possible solution for my eyes. Although I had only a brief period of time to speak with Dr Rabinovitch who was extremely busy, he was very patient and gave me honest and straightforward answers to my questions and concerns about the surgery. He performed surgeries on both of my eyes, the process was fast, smooth and painless, thanks so much Dr Rabinovitch for his professionalism and expertise that open up a brand new chapter for my life. About the surgery centre, it was top-rated, all staff there was very nice and polite. The atmosphere of the surgery area was very relaxing which made me less nervous as that was my very first surgery ever taken. In summary I am completely satisfied with the services offered and most importantly the successful surgery results. I just feel like I am a totally free person now! I can work and do sports without glasses and the best is no more dark marks on the bridge of my nose! :)
I was extremely impressed with North Toronto Eye Care. It is rare these days to encounter such a well run and efficient operation. All the staff that I encountered were well trained, competent, helpful and pleasant to deal with. A special thanks to Dr. Yau, Dr. Melville, and Svetlana for their expertise and diligence.
I have been attending the North Toronto Eye Clinic (NTEC) for the past number of years for an eye condition which affects the retina, resulting in the build up of retinal fluid. This adversely impacts my vision - and in fact - results in blurring as well as the destruction of blood vessels and loss of vision. The continuing growth of NTEC has resulted in the hiring of my treating ophthalmologist (Dr. Pradeepa Yoganathan). Dr. Yoganathan even commutes from her employment at a US hospital because of the demand for her specialization and her excellence in this field. She has experience in research of new treatments, as well as the utilization of new technology through fluorescent angiography, which photographically reflects what happens at the back of the eye. I have the utmost faith in Dr. Yoganathan, who painstakingly administers treatment injections with compassion and sensitivity, optimism, and the intention to support her patients through a sometimes stressful process. Yours sincerely, Arthur Anderson
I've never had any issues at this location (7 Elmwood Avenue). The receptionists and technicians have been courteous and efficient, the waiting times have been reasonable, and my ophthalmologist (Dr. Tran Le) was professional and clear in her explanations and instructions.
Horrible and unacceptable. I wish I read the reviews before. Only come here if you want your patience tested. My appointment was booked for 10AM and I left after 1PM. Once you get in, they have a sign saying you need to be prepared for 'unpredictable wait times' and that you should expect to be there between 2 and 4 hours. This information would have been useful before I agreed to come to this clinic. I've attached a photo of their sign. I guess they've had enough furious visitors because you are warned against getting angry towards their staff. When I asked for a note for my employer to explain where I was for so long, I was told I need to pay $10 for a note. With their incredibly long wait times, that is the least they could do.
My appointment was fast and efficient, excellent staff!
My recent eye surgery went very well and I am pleased with the results. Dr. Rabinovitch is the best. His staff is very caring and helpful. Kay was wonderful and helped answer a lot of my questions as she is quite knowledgeable. I would recommend North Toronto Eye Care to everyone!
GET A REFERRAL TO ANOTHER CLINIC AND ANOTHER DOCTOR!!! I brought my mom here for a cataract consultation with Dr. Rabinovitch and we were both treated very poorly! We spent over 4 hours here, and they moved us around like we were zoo animals. At every interval they're trying to sell you stuff. The doctor doesn't even discuss cataracts with you, instead it's staff without any credentials. Why are we being told that surgery costs over $1600/eye when it's free at the hospital? Unfortunately the sales was not even my biggest issue here. Staff were rude when asked for an update. Staff were rude in general, and seemed more interested to converse amongst themselves than with any patients. Dr. Rabinovitch was extremely short with us and obnoxious. He kept rushing us through the door and told us we don't need to ask so many questions. The icing on the cake was the woman sitting next to us told us he put a hole in her eye during cataract surgery and now she's having complications! Terrible experience. Avoid this office at all costs!!!
Great team, very professional and welcoming!
Courteous and respectful staff, very efficient! Props to Rose, Linda, Kim, Stephanie and Thushanth! Most of all for Dr Rabinovitch, best eye doctor, great diagnostician! In and out in 50 minutes with no wait time!
Dr. Pesin is an amazing and meticulous ophthalmologist. It's so rare to have a doctor who will listen to you, answer all your questions and don't make you feel rushed. Clinic is generally busy but efficient. Appointments generally take 1-2 hours which is pretty normal considering all the work involved.
I have been seeing Dr. Ted for over 4 years and he is truly the best. From the moment that you walk into the clinic, you immediately feel welcomed by the whole staff. Dr. Ted really cares about his patients and will spend the extra time with you. He is very knowledgeable and you can tell he really loves his job. I do not see myself going anywhere else! Happy that I have found his clinic.
As a New Patient at the Finch Location, It was horrible! D room is all over the Map! Not informing people anything, you have to raise your voice to be called. 1 hour waiting and still not called. Went to make a complaint to a Manager and so unprofessional someone opens the door and says "hurry up, I need the room!"... Word of advice to this Clinic, Work on Customer Service and MANNERS!
Dr. Tran Le is very professional and pleasant. I will not hesitate to see her again. So happy I was referred to her.
The receptionist has an attitude after talking to the patient.
Dr Yau is an excellent Doctor who takes the time to explain necessary information. Never rushes you. My elderly father has been been a patient for years. He is maintaining his vision. We are very thankful and grateful.
I waited 4hrs to be seen by dry eye specialist! And he wants me to go back in 6 weeks????
I moved to Toronto a couple of weeks ago and was referred to the North Toronto Eye Care clinic and was able to acquire an appointment very quickly to see Dr. Gary Yau. I was seeing both an ophthalmologist and retina specialist in Ottawa due to post cataract macular edema as well as epiretinal membrane. Neither of the doctors had forwarded my files and history to Dr. Yau’s office but he was able to get a clear view of my issues based on the history that I provided him with. From the time I entered the office and dealt with the front desk staff to the testing area and then seeing Dr. Yau, everything went very smoothly and without too much wait time in between. Dr. Yau did a much better job and gave me a clearer explanation of my eye issues than both my previous doctors in Ottawa. He spent a lot of time with me and I didn’t feel rushed at all. He informed me of the plan going forward and I look forward to my follow up appointment at the end of October.
I was happy with my experience at the Elmwood facility. The person at the front desk was friendly and efficient. Same for the assistant leading me through tests. As always, Dr Le was personable and professional. I appreciate the time she took to explain procedures and answer questions. All in all a good experience at the Elmwood clinic!
I had laser done today. I found the experience difficult. It was very busy and Dr. Le was pleasant had to be very quick. It wasn’t a good experience
Dr Yau is the consummate knowledgeable doctor always up to date with the latest advancements in eye treatments and technology. It is an honor to be one of his patients.
The office is top notch, the staff were all very helpful and caring. Kept us moving from all the test required to the waiting rooms to seeing the doctors, very clean and very organized. My mother in law had a very rare condition that has been affecting her eyes and due to this we ending up in the office for almost 5 hours but with the amount of people in the clinic and all the test we had to do we never felt like we were forgotten. Understand that everyone in the clinic has a different situation and sometime it will take longer than expected but for us it was worth every min we spent in the clinic and now we have a better understanding of her condition. Huge thank you to Dr. Rabinovitch & Dr. Yau on explaining everything We highly recommend North Toronto Eye Care
No comment for now.
