Wait times were short, the processes for each phase of the procedure was explained and confirmed that I understood. All staff were very helpful and friendly. Having worn contact lenses for 13 years and LASIK eye surgery fingers and objects around my eyes don’t bother me. The process today was quick and painless. Some minor bruising the next morning but less than I was told to expect so all in all it was a positive experience dealing with Dr. Conlon, Ashley, and all the other staff. Thank you.

How many times have we mistaken our googe searches for a medical degree--deferring to own judgement, maybe even at our own peril--without waiting for a proper medical consult? How many times have we been frustrated at what seemed to be an endless wait to see our specialist, and upon seeing them we weren't satisfied that they had really heard us when we did see them? Not so with Dr. Conlon and his team of eye professionals. Ashley, Miranda and an attache of other professionals eased my anxiety and help me to understand every procedure I inquired about in a friendly manner. I am not, "not out of the woods yet," as I am still awaiting a prognosis, from a biopsy taken at the institute, but I can tell you with 100% assurity my chances of a healthy recovery are astronomically higher because of the surgeon and staff's speedy response to my family doctor's urgent request. I was pleased with the professionalism and quality of service start to finish. Heidi the patient educator and Dr. Preet the optometrist were knowledgeable and empathetic. They took their time to ensure I was 100% comfortable during the consult, pre and post op. Dr. Conan the ophthalmologist and Ashley the Nurse were also excellent during the procedure. I felt safe and cared for. Ashley was supportive and helpful in helping me get optimal pain control during the first day and my post op healing as of today (Post Op Day 2) has been perfect so far. I achieved better than 20/20 by Post Op Day 1 with minimal trauma to the surrounding tissues and no complications. The care that is included in the price is well worth it and the lower price point to comparable services is definitely not indicative of lower quality. I will definitely recommend this business to those considering laser eye surgery.

When I was called in by the nurse Ashley she was very kind and sweet and had a warm wonderful smile that made me feel very comfortable. She knew I was very nervous and walked me through everything,gave me something to help relax me,and a blanket to to feel comfortable. Review Updated March 2021: My results are still both impressive and incredible! I still recommend ConLon 100%. The iDesign 2.0 eye fingerprint tech and 4 star laser they use is accurate and currently only ConLon has this tech in Saskatchewan. Initial Review from August 2020: My gut feeling was right! ConLon was the place to go for LASIK! It is a dream come true for me and it went so well!!! Dr. Conlon and his team were professional and experienced. As Dr. Conlon said to me "There is no substitute for experience" and my eyes are so good now, I waited a week after the surgery to review just to make sure it's real! Massive Respect to the staff at Conlon for treating me so well, I had a smile on my face the whole time, even during and after the surgery. My eyes went Myopic starting in my teenage years (-2.75 right eye, -2.5 left eye) but now I've got my vision back, I even got better night vision which surprised me, I forgot how much I could see at night in my younger years. Headlights from opposing traffic don't give me any eye strain now either. This was such a win for me and I 100% recommend Conlon Eye Institute because it is just that good.

Had my upper eyelid surgery today and I can honestly say that it was a very good experience. The nurses were all very attentive and made sure I had everything I needed and that I was as comfortable as I could be. Dr Conlon was great from the first consultation and answered any questions I had and was great on the day of surgery. Ashley texted me in the evening to see how I was feeling which was also extremely nice, most offices wouldn’t check in until a follow up appointment. I was very nervous going into my first cataract surgery, there are no words to describe how those fears were alleviated and I look forward to getting my second cataract surgery done. It was a positive experience - it was so quick, and from the time I arrived until I was released I was overwhelmed with the comfort and support. It was amazing. I had been nervous and when I texted one of Dr. Conlin's staff - she (Ashleigh) assured me not to worry and you will love your new lens. I had Lasik done last week and I had an incredible experience! I had no idea what to expect, and I was extremely nervous. Dr. Conlon, his front end staff, the technicians, his optometrist, the nurses, and his surgical coordinator helped me feel at ease and confident that Lasik was indeed a great option for me! I dealt with Heidi (the surgical coordinator) from the start, and she is so kind and phenomenal. She booked me in promptly and answered any and all questions that I had. I have never met an individual so caring and she had genuine interest in me and the concerns that I initially had. She honestly made this experience an 11/10 for me! On the day of surgery, I went in and it was a smooth process. I am anxious when it comes to procedures or things like that, but no one pushed me or rushed me. They allowed me to get comfortable and walked me through the process step-by-step. My eyes are still healing, but I was told that I have 20/20 vision! Any other improvement I get as I heal more will just be a bonus. I am so, so, SO happy that I decided to do it! Thank you to Dr. Conlon and all of the staff! Note: I won't lie and say that my experience was pain free. I felt slight discomfort during the procedure because I really hate people getting close to my eyes, so I was still a little anxious despite having a sedative. Dr. Conlon and both Ashley's I had in there with me were fantastic and so caring! The first 4-5 hours after surgery DID suck. I have an extremely low pain tolerance, so my eyes were hurting for those 4-5 hours. I was able to take medicated drops to help ease that pain.... but I made the mistake in allowing my caregiver to leave me for an hour. Don't do this, please!! Have them stay with you the entire time afterwards (5ish hours) just to make sure that you're not in any pain! Other than that, everything else was perfect! If you want Lasik, please contact the Conlon Eye Institute!!! :)

So I have worn glasses & contacts for most of my life (25 years, I'm 36) and figured now was the time to move forward and opted for PRK. I went in for a consultation January 4th and had my surgery January 21st. Heidi was awesome explaining the procedure and answering the questions I had in the consultation, the pre- and in the post-op meetings. My optometrist Brandon was great too, very down to earth, personable and made me feel comfortable taking my eye exams. The PRK surgery itself was over quickly and was everything I researched and was told about from the doctors there. Dr. Conlon was friendly and super efficient, talking to and reassuring me throughout the entire surgery, which took 5-7 minutes max. Nurse Ashley would check up on me every couple of days by text to ensure I was doing well and looked after. I'm in my 2nd week of recovery and it's going great, just anxious for my vision to set which I was told could be a few weeks to a few months. Overall, I'm very satisfied and thankful I went to CEI. Everyone from the front desk, to the optometrists to the nurses made me feel welcomed, relaxed and reassuring. I'm excited for the day when my eyes settle in and I have Dr. Conlon to thank for such a positive experience!

From the first moment of my consultation appointment to the moment I walked out after surgery, The entire staff of the Conlon Eye Institute were kind, professional, and accommodating. I was made aware ahead of time that the consultation appointment might be a wait so I brought along my iPad to pass the time. I appreciated this heads up and the wait time felt like no big deal. The surgery procedure that I needed was small, but the first time I had this procedure done several years back elsewhere, it did not go well with the freezing and I was hesitant to receive the second procedure. I barely had time to sit down in the weight room when I was already called into surgery and was greeted by two very warm and friendly women. This surgical nursing team of Ashley and Jen made sure that I was comfortable and assured me that Dr. Conlon would take care of everything. Dr. Conlon successfully froze my eyelid and the procedure was over quickly, the entire time with the assuring words of Dr. Conlon making sure I was okay, explaining what he was doing, and assuring me that I was doing great! In a world where most people’s attention is focussed on themselves, it was evident that this entire team was focussed on my well-being. Ashley and Jen made me feel like I was the most important person in their day and that made a potentially stressful morning turn into a nice little visit with two new friends. The aftercare has also been phenomenal with several follow ups conducted by Ashley! I highly recommend the Conlon Eye Institute—it is a great mixture of kindness and professionalism!

Had an appointment, arrived in time and submitted my appointments papers and was waiting for an hour nobody called for doctor. While sitting there I got a call from the doctors appointment clerk that I missed my appointment. Very strange they didn’t put my name in the system even gave them all the appointment paperwork?? Very disappointing. Not that place anymore. Walk out without seeing a doctor.

Excellent all around! Just before the pandemic and while I still lived in Ontario I got prepped for IOL surgery. That was a factory-like experience. Then with the Covid situation we had cancellations and then an urgent move back to Saskatchewan and I started with a different doctor again, and that was started then delayed. Then I heard about The Conlon Eye Institute. Dr. Conlon came highly recommended from friends, family and colleagues in Saskatchewan that I spoke to. As a healthcare professional, I know how important it is to have great support staff as well as the very best technology available and I can honestly say that Dr. Conlon has all of that plus a friendly and engaged bedside manner. There is a genuine feeling of care and integrity in his presence and Dr. Conlon is easy to talk to. From the first visit onward everything was well managed. There was time to ask questions and there were clear answers given. Reception was prompt and friendly and the waiting room is comfortable, albeit some long wait times were endured, but only because it is bustling there (a good sign!). Most impressive of all was the friendly smiling eyes behind all the masks during this stressful time. The highly professional guidance during the selection of best lenses coupled with the equally high standard of surgical skill and technical dexterity made this experience remarkable. I can now see to tie flies again, and I can see birds on a wire. The fogginess I see now is actually the smoke from a forest fire. You can not take your vision for granted; it is vital to fully enjoying life. There are many eye surgeons to chose from; so be sure to check ratings carefully and call the office to check on staff attitudes and service quality. Don’t open your eyelids to just anyone!! I highly recommend The Conlon Eye Institute. The right choice is clear.

I had LASIK done just over two months ago by Dr. Conlon. I was generally happy with how the consultation went and was told the procedure also went 'perfectly'. However, by day 2, I knew something wasn't right. I reached out to both Ashley and Heidi. I was told to come in for an additional follow-up appointment with Dr. Conlon and his optometrist. Unfortunately, I did not feel my concerns were heard and I was told what I was experiencing was 'normal' and would 'go away in a few days'. It was a long month of waiting, uncertainty, and regret over my decision to have LASIK. Eventually, I was well cared for by my own optometrist and I am so grateful for that. I still have not heard from Dr. Conlon or anyone on his team. I have unanswered questions and concerns, and feel very disappointed that no one has reached out to me. While I felt my initial experience was positive, I have been sadly let down by the lack of care post procedure. If you are fortunate enough to have an expected outcome, you will likely have no complaints about your experience with Dr. Conlon and his team. However, if you are one of the unlucky few, like me, with an unexpected outcome, you may find yourself dealing with it on your own.

Been a glasses/contact wearer for almost 20 years and I had the LASIK procedure done on Jan 21st, 2021 for my nearsightedness. If you have ever contemplated getting it done, do it now. It has changed my life completely and is the best investment & money spent. The staff is awesome to deal with the whole time with Heidi (coordinator) for everything before hand and then Ashley (Nurse) post-op to follow up to see how everything is going with recovery and how I'm doing. Don't worry if you don't directly talk with Dr. Conlon before the procedure, his whole staff will make you feel comfortable and answer all questions (easy and tough ones) leading up to the procedure and once you get into the Laser Suite Dr. Conlon is super friendly and talks you through everything for the short period of time the procedure takes place. Had eyelid surgery on July 13 2021, the staff called earlier to confirm the appointment. The staff and nurses at the clinic on the day of the surgery where helpful in the preperation for my surgery and wanted to make sure I understood the type of procedure I was having and if there where any concerns. The surgery went well and Dr. Conlon was very gentle and precise during the provcdure. Before leaeaving I was provided information on the proper care for my area the surgery was done in and if I felt or had concerns after I was given a contact phone in which I could contact nurse Asley. I was having a small issue with itchy eyes because of allergies and was wondering if I could rinse my eyes with a saline wash. I contacted the office as I forgot my card with the nures number on it and the staff provided me the information of who to contact. I was able to contact in very short order Ashley the nurse who was able to provide me with ansers to my question, she even followed up to make sure all was still good. The professionalism of the staff, nurses and Dr. Conlon is second to none, all clinics should use this organization as a training platform. Thanks to all

I had amazing care during my eyelid surgery, the procedure itself is unbelievably quick and painless and the recovery has been very easy. I come from a family of fainters, and warned them in advance, coming close at one point. The doctor was understanding, gave me a little break and the nurses took over by being exceptionally calming and reassuring. I’m happy to say I didn’t faint and they finished the procedure. As a 35 year old woman, who has always been scared of the unknown. Today I was booked for an eyelid operation. Nervous like heck. They called me in for my surgery. Nervous of the unknown. Prior to having Dr Conlon coming in, I had 2 beautiful nurses that knew, by the look in my eyes, I was petrified. As we walked in the hallway, Ashley held my hand reassured me I will be fine. Through my unknown scare ness of what would happen to help cure my eyelid that I had for 1 year. I felt at home. She brought me a pillow, as per my request. I am scared of needles but she did not give up in saying that she will take care of me all along by being by my side. Procedure only started as they went with my pace. The process and treatment received for a minor eyelid surgery was taken as seriously as for a more involved procedure. I remember how I felt and it was: reassured, informed, respected and well taken care of. The follow up by head nurse Ashley was a pleasant surprise and very much appreciated to ask further questions which came up after I was home. I recently took my mom in for surgery. When we came into the office we were acknowledged by the staff even though they were busy. Then we had a seat, and Ashley the RN called my mom in for the surgery. She was very professional, knowledgeable about the procedure which made the surgery even easier to go through. Then they explained the steps and how it would go. The surgery didn't take very long. When the surgery was finished, Ashley came and got me and explained how the next week would look. So we went home. My mom had a rest, and we had a little bump from the surgery, but turns out, she got up to quickly. But I contacted Ashley asking if we could come in to check things out and we did. After that we went home. And Ashley contacted us that evening to make sure everything was okay. Throughout the past 7 days Ashley had contacted us to see how the healing was and how my mom was feeling. From a daughter's perspective I felt reassured that if anything went wrong we would be well taken care of. Ashley went above and beyond her job to make sure everyone felt at ease after the surgery. Wow! Where to start?? I was having eye lid plus eye brow surgeries.. 1. My first phone call to the institute for the free consultation = exceptional front end office admins. Polite, informative, personable, friendly, courteous, made me feel right at home.. I hadn't even gone to them yet and already felt at home. Got an appointment in less than 2 weeks, I felt that was exceptional all things considered with Covid. 2. Several emails and phone calls confirming my appointment again exceptional front end office personnel! 3. Day of consult... service continued. Many people assisting with the examinations. Total time in the office 1.5 hours.. felt like 30 minutes. Each room, each person that did another eye test was above and beyond customer service expectations. And I've been to a number of different clinics, optometrists, etc.. 4. Follow up emails and phone call the very next day. I happened to be fortunate enough to get a cancellation appointment for only 1 week after my initial consultation which was amazing!! 5. Week before surgery.... follow up letters and emails, phone calls with what to expect, how to prepare for day of surgery, and post surgery. All communication also stated clearly if I had any questions I could call or email, which I did, prompt responses and sufficient adequate answers of reassurance. 6. Day of surgery... I was super nervous. Nurse Ashley went above and beyond reassuring me. Asked me how I was doing all along and I was given incredible reassurances from Dr. Conlon all throughout the surgery process. Was extremely considerate and had so much patience with me. Gave step by step informative instructions for the entire process. 7. Upon completion Nurse Ashley made me a follow up consultation phone call and gave me her cell number and said she would follow up with me and I could text or call her if I had any follow up questions or concerns. The fact is... she followed up with me. AND, I had several concerns and questions which she was so happy to help. I will be going there for my lasik surgery now and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this business. You will NOT be disappointed if you follow exactly all recommendations, like every 20 minutes ice on, ice off... a MUST to have good success. Exceptional business!! I was told that the procedure was virtually painless and it truly is I am most impressed with the care I have received. Everyone was gentle snd reassuring during the procedure and I even received a text follow up today (a Sunday!) so I was able to ask questions as to what was normal and to be expected. If you have been thinking about laser eye surgery... DO IT!! From start to finish the team at Conlon Eye Institute were absolutely amazing. They are the only center in Saskatchewan that uses the idesign 2.0 (fingerprint of your eye) & the Star 4 laser... woke up this morning with better than 20/20 vision! Dr. Conlon was amazing during surgery and described everything in detail while performing the procedure. The staff there are amazing and super attentive! Ashley (nurse) texted me in the evening to check in on me as well as the following day! Those little extras make all the difference in their customer service! I was quoted $5300 at a laser center in Saskatoon and Dr. Conlon offers a standard rate of $3000 ($1500) per eye! I wish I had gotten this 10 years ago! The procedure itself, while pretty uncomfortable, is not painful. It just feels like a lot of pressure but the whole procedure was less than 10 minutes! The first 4-5 hours was definitely uncomfortable (scratchy/dry eyes) but after that everything was awesome!! 10000% worth it. Stop reading this and book a consult ???? you won’t regret it!

This was the absolute worst experience ever. I was not told about the stitches needed so your eyebrows do not fall, nor was my conversation that i could not use disposable stitches acknowledged as they do not disolve. I have ended up with scar tissue on my eyelids and I look older than my 82 year old mother. I am actually getting a permanent crease accross my nose and Conlon said he had never seen it before and then said wrinkles....no one in my family has these wrinkles so no it is not. I have no peripheral vision left and have actually screamed when people have walked up beside me. I have trouble riding my bike and do not drive. Horrible, horrible horrible.

The new iDesign technology along with the 4 star laser is top of the line, and the only place in Saskatchewan with this technology! I was sold on the fact that many people were getting better than 20/20 vision, which it did for me!!! The procedure was quick and painless, and Dr. Conlon was very caring and reassuring as he walked me through every step of the process. Every staff member I had contact with was pleasant, caring, genuine and VERY supportive. The nurse checked on me daily to see how I was doing, which was much appreciated. The next day my vision was better than 20/20, I was amazed!! I had lasik eye surgery. The staff were very informative and friendly. They answered all of my questions. The equipment they use is the idesign 2.0 (this takes an exact fingerprint of your eye), and the Visx S4 laser (to put the prescription into your eye.) They are the only ones that use this advanced technology. I was very impressed that right after my surgery I could see with out my glasses. My vision was even better the next day! Everything was so clear. I would recommend Dr. Conlon Eye Institute to anyone for all their eye needs.

About 15 years ago Dr. Conlon placed a Kamra inlay in my left eye affording me the capability of going without reading glasses. Dr. Colon did an excellent job and the inlay worked wonderfully until I developed a cataract. To top it off I got a macular hole in that eye so the inlay needed to come out. Dr. Conlon once again came to the rescue and removed the inlay. He did an excellent job. The staff at the Colon Eye Institute are very personable and professional. Thanks so much.

Here is an accurate review of Dr. Conlon and his staff. I recently had a appointment at the Conlin Eye Institute. Not sure what all the bad reviews are referring to! I attended the Eye institute for an appointment with Dr Conlon on a Saturday....you read it right.....Saturday! What specialist works on Saturday? When I arrived the girls at the front reception were friendly and gave me my forms to fill out. They also informed me it would be an hour before I saw Dr. Conlon. Now to explain the hour they told me about......I sat for 10 minutes and then was taken for 1 eye test....then a 2nd eye test...I was returned to the waiting room where I sat for another 5 to 10 minutes and then was taken to another room to meet with Dr. Conlon. 5 minutes passed and Dr Conlon came in. He was very professional and knowledgeable as we discussed my ptosis/blepharoplasty surgery. Did we discuss our kids?...the weather?....what we were doing for the long weekend? NO...if I expected that I should be at my family physician not a Specialist. Dr Conlon is busy with many patients to see! That was the hour and I was done! What you should know is I was scheduled with another Doctor at City Hospital Eye Center. I had an appointment 2 years ago and was still on the waiting list...yes 2 years....and then got a letter saying he was leaving and I had to find another eye specialist! I recieved a call saying I could be seen by Dr Conlon on the Saturday. I must have been lucky to get in so fast or they felt sorry for me. I also was very lucky to get a surgery date a week later....probably one of the cancellations I have read on here because they think Conlon is arrogant....either way my surgery went extremely well and I would definately recommend Dr. Conlon. If you want the best I suggest you get a referral to Dr. Conlon. If you want to be treated like your time is more important than others I suggest you go elsewhere. Reviews are meant to give accurate information on a Doctors ability to do his job....not to give your own impression on the Doctors personality or attitude. I want some who is great at what he does....im not there to make a new friend!

This was my second surgery with Dr. Conlon. My first was refractive lens surgery 3 years ago - it went perfectly and I am enjoying the freedom of no longer wearing glasses. Very recently, I underwent surgery on both eyelids. Dr. Conlon was once again very pleasant and patient in explaining what was needed. I felt reassured to once again be treated by him. I also echo what others have said regarding the the patient follow-up care; Ashley, the head nurse who assisted with my operation, was so supportive during the surgery as well during the days that followed. She checked up on me via text during the day and evenings - happy to answer any of my questions. Was referred to Dr Conlon & was scheduled for a consult within 6 weeks. I had to call the office regarding my app't & was surprised a "real" person answered & was able to help me . My tests were performed by friendly , competent technicians . Dr Conlon was very informative during my consult , SO experienced . Scheduled for surgery & was booked by Heidi . I was given her card & again had to call regarding my surg procedure . It is so nice to have the person your calling answer the phone instead of dealing with automated recordings . On my surgery date my app't time was prompt , no waiting for any length of time in the waiting room. Ashley, Dr Conlon's nurse was very professional & obviously experienced . The procedure was explained to me & I was informed before each step occurred . I received instructions & educated on what to do after my surgery from Dr Conlon , Ashley & Miranda . In September, 2013, I had the cataract in my right eye removed. I soon realized that my new lens did not allow me to drive well at night because of streaks from headlights and street lamps. The cataract removal was a negative experience all around as Dr. Conlon did not speak to me while he was telling the nurses if the Sask Health Region recruited another ophthamologist, he might have to reduce his staff. I thought this conversation was the height of unprofessionalism! I also doubt whether I needed my right cataract removed in 2013 as it has taken until now for my left cataract to need replacing, but Dr. Conlon wanted me to make an appointment for it in 2013. Needless to say, he will not be my choice of an ophthamologist! UPDATE (Day later) Dr. Conlon telephoned just now to discuss my review. He was very cordial, and factual in explaining that the streaks from light sources in my right lens could be due to other problems in my eye that eye drops might alleviate. He had records from another ophthamologist from 2007 which indicated that I was complaining about my night vision then. I have no recollection of that visit but must admit that my memory is generally poor. Since I am seeing an optometrist on Monday, he said that he will have a member of his staff follow up in a few days. I was very pleasantly surprised by this telephone call, and Dr. Conlon's concern.
