Highly recommend this place!! I went and got glasses and after picking them up they were not exactly right and their strong customers service really took care of me. Hulya Bayras made sure that I was well taken care of and her priority was to make sure it gets fix and that I leave happy. Thank you so much Hulya I got them back and now can effectively do my work. Came in for an eye exam. She said she had an opening at 12:50pm, I arrive the person took down my details and charged me the $95 for the eye exam and said comeback at 1:50pm for the exam as the doctor was not here and would be back shortly, I arrive at the storefront at 1:48pm she calls me to say if I could come back at 2:15PM as the doctor was not back yet. OK, came back at 2.14PM, and waited till 2.35PM, and they said he would arrive shortly. I decided to ask for my money back. They charged me in ADVANCE the examination so as for me to comeback. Elsewhere you pay your doctor at the end of the consultattin, your dentist, your grocery store, your shoe shop but HERE they LOCK YOU IN. Better places elsewhere DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE !!!!

Absolute useless service and management. Went in to get my my lenses replaced on my glasses and they installed a thicker one. They sent it back to the lab to correct it to only get sent back again with the same thick thick lenses! They finally realized, oh wait, our new lab doesn't do that 1.74 hi index that you originally had. Bunch of idiots didn't realize this from the get go even though I repeatedly reminded them that I have a 1.74 lens. Their lab is also now situated in Toronto so it takes 2 weeks! After a month of my time wasted, I took my original lens back and took my business elsewhere where they not only installed the correct lens, but also for cheaper with a quick turn around. AVOID THIS PLACE!

Bought 2 pairs of glasses off these guys, 1 that would be strictly worn at work, and 1 pair that was to be worn casually, so the representative suggested, we add protection to the lenses, made sense at the time, up until I realized the lenses of my work glasses were actually getting pretty scratched up, and so easily compared to my other pair that was protected, so fair to say, either it was forgotten, but overall, how complicated can it be, installing lenses?

There is a huge selection, but men's and women's glasses are all grouped together. Some are obviously one or the other, but many are not so obvious. I have a hard enough time choosing glasses, I wasn't interested in trying to sort through men's and women's to find what I wanted.

I booked an appointment and was quite excited. I spoke to Bob who had told me 4:20 PM and I showed up early at 4:10. They told me the doctor left and I explained my appointment was for 4:20. They said there's nothing they can do. Appointments are booked up to end of August and I cancelled my shift and cancelled the three appointments I had booked in August. There was no empathy or any form of attempt to keep me as a client. This was one of the worst customer experiences I have had

Honestly , horrible experience never go there again . Receptionist is very rude no smile no warm welcome . I did my lenses in November 2020 and they said I will have a warranty for 1 year , I came back this July 2021 to ask them if they can check my lenses because I can’t see clear , she said oh you did them last november means last year we can’t do anything…. Manager is soooooo rude and impolite. Don’t don’t goooo there if I can give them -1 or -10 I will definitely do it

Ignore the negative reviews & ratings. I've dealt with Laurier Optical for decades, first in the Kanata Centrum location, now for the past 2 years with this location in Rideau Centre, never once have it ever crossed my mind that the service or product provided was less than standard, and in fact, it's been near perfect every time. By far, the best staff member here is Ali, as he is extremely knowledgeable, always takes the time to help customers like me no matter how busy he or the store is (within reason), and takes the initiative to "go the extra mile", surpassing typical expectations, and ensuring that Laurier Optical will continue to get my business for decades to come. The selection of eyeglasses here is vast, with something for everyone in each style, size, price range, & etc. The pricing seems to be somewhat better than most comparable opticians, especially with top brands like Ray-Ban & Columbia. Eye exams are offered here by appointment, and you'll be in and out in no time, with comprehensive results and a detailed easy-to-understand explanation of any findings or differences from the last exam. Overall I would certainly recommend this location to friends & family. For best service, call ahead to make an appointment, as they are a popular location, and this will ensure that you can get the best service from a staff member who is giving you their full & undivided attention.

Laurier Optical in the Rideau center has been my people for glasses for the past 8 years. Ive been given good treatment, eye exams seem to be fine, and ive got intensly bad vision. I was prescribed everything required and havnt been treated badly. Theyve been as kind to give me Hugo Boss frames also Prada frames because there was nothing to suit me, given at reduced prices. As long as i live in ottawa, Laurier will be my place to go :)

My husband went to pick up his glasses, had them on his face for a nano-second and the lady whisked the glasses out of his hands to go adjust them. I had to stop her and say, you don't even know what needs adjusting! Super unprofessional, non-apologetic and overall rude and unpleasant to deal with! We will not go back!

I was sincerely grateful for wonderful service after the arm fell off of my brand new glasses when I damaged them badly by dropping them. The owner replaced the hole frame at no cost but the delivery service which was next to nothing. I am very thankful for this, both the owner and his wife are very kind and thoughtful I have been a customer there for years but I needed to express my gratitude for such good service, I recommend these people.

just recently purchased glasses here and was given nothing but wonderful and friendly customer service all around. The team of staff over there are knowledgeable and accommodating to all your eye care questions and needs. On top of the amazing service I found one of my lenses had a crack thought them (no idea why happened) when I brought them in the manager Minnu told me to leave them there and she'd see what they could do. Less than one week later my glasses have once again arrived and I couldn't be more thankful for having them repaired free of charge. When I purchased my glasses I added the anti-glare and scratch resistant package. I later noticed one of my lenses was scratched so I returned to the store to have it replaced since I had purchased this convenient package. Surprise, surprise!!! the scratch resistant package doesn't cover ''these kinds of scratches''... What's the point of purchasing this package if scratches aren't covered???? I left the store saying this was my last business with them and the nice gentlemen which I suspect is the owner, remarks ''no problem ma'am, we have plenty more customers''. Now that's customer service for ya!

My Daughter was Very Horribly Treated in Aylmer Quebec where she originally bought her Glasses, Cheap, Out of Date Frames, she was told by Laurier Optical in Hull where she went to have her Glasses adjusted as she would no longer Deal with Aylmer. She had to have one of Lenses replaced as her Eyes had changed within the two months since her original Purchase, she was told by the Optometrist in Hull. Her next Glasses were from NewLook, at the Plateau, as by now she had her fill of Laurier Optical and all of their B.S. Poor Customer Service, Bad Managerial Pratices, and this bit of not giving people there Prescriptions after they Pay for them is unbelievable. I would recommend Laurier no one The Forgie Family

This location has now moved to 50 O'Connor. Very bad experience. Went for eye exam over lunch. it was empty. I was the only customer. There was 1 doctor and 2 sales stuff. You'd think they'd be bored and glad to help, but not the case. Before exam i was told one price. after the exam was told to pay a higher price with some lame excuse that there are different eye exams and i got the better one. The difference between exams wasn't clear to me. The clerk just waved me off saying "it's no big deal, you just claim it with insurance" At this point i decided i did not want to buy glasses or contact from them so i looked at the prescription and noticed most of it was illegible, some was incomplete, and one measurement did not match what the DR told me. when i asked to correct it the clerk made a big deal "You're not going to understand it anyway". I had to insist for a while before they corrected it. Very unprofessional.

I went for the typical eye exam a less then a year ago, when I got my prescription glasses I didn't think they were correct but I tried to give myself time to adjust. I just went to get my eye exam redone at a different place and I was right, the perscription I was given from Laurier optics was wrong. The people were friendly and the prices are great, but it sucked to have to redo an eye exam less then a year later and struggle with incorrect glasses in the meantime.

I wasn't asked which options for lenses I would like, the sales associate simply tacked on all the options possible. I would have liked to not have gotten an added UV coating. Additionally not satisfied with the results of the thinning lenses or their attempt at explaining the benefits of this option when I came in a few days later curious about what the difference was.

The first time I went to Laurier Optical in Aylmer, it was for a pair of regular prescription glasses. The service was excellent. The lady gave me all the time I needed to choose a pair of glasses that I liked, and I needed help and time. I received my glasses one week later. It was a beautiful experience. The second time I went was for a pair of sunglasses with prescription lenses. I chose a pair of glasses that I knew were a bit over my usual reserved fashion style, but they where nice and so fashionable. Well, I got what I asked for.But, I was too shy to wear those glasses; not my style as I was afraid. I when back to the store to see if they could help me, if something could be done or if I had to deal with my mistake. And to my great surprise they immediately helped without hesitation! I never experienced such a service. They went above and beyond to make me happy! And today, I have a pair of sunglasses that I feel comfortable with and suit me perfectly.I am completely satisfied! Worst Customer service ever, I ordered Optical Glasses at the beginning of March and they said it will arrive with in 3 weeks, after 4 weeks called to ask about the Glasses and the manager informed me that the glasses was sent to the wrong store and will arrive with in 2 days after a week called again and was answered by another person and informed that it was at another store again, I informed him that I talked to the manager previously and told me the same thing and he replied back with "he did not write a note about it". anyways its past 4 months now I requested to cancel my order and the manager was never around. been a costumer since 2011 and definitely not doing business with them again.

Yousif is absolutely phenomenal! He was very professional, and gave me proper advice concerning which type of glasses are more suited for my skin and to flatter my natural shape. I placed my order on Saturday, and two business days later, they were ready for pick up. They fit great, and I look amazing in these. So i went here only becuase i thought they would have a wider variety of glasses to choose from compared to where i usually go and they did and the woman were great helping me choose a pair but my eye exam was extremely short which didnt seem right to me, less then 5 minutes, i was told on the phone to bring my current pair of glasses so the doctor could see my prescription but he never asked for them. I ordered glasses and they came in fast however when i put them on they were a BIG change. I thought ok my prescription has changed but its been over 1 week with my new glasses and ive had an extremely bad head ach since getting them... the doctor oviously didnt take the time to actually look at my eyes. Im extremely disappointed and will be calling them to fix this issue.

Went here for my first eye exam, which was fine. Made the "mistake" of buying lenses and frames from a cheaper place and when I went back to get my eyes retested they wouldn't deal with me anymore. You can go here if you like, just know they're unprofessional and petty.

This Laurier Optical is worse of all worse. I went here with my mom we bought two set of glasses for almost $2,000 with scratch protection plan. 1 yr and haft later we come back to get our scratched glasses done, coz our glasses has a little bit scratch. For some reason the lady said that they dont have our record so we gave our paper that they gave us with the receipts. The manager come and she said that they can't do our glasses done coz the kind of scratch in our glasses is not covered in scratch protection plan. Not recommended. Dont buy in this store.

This place wouldn't give me my paper for the prescription even though I paid for it .... I bought two frames From them and both times the frames were cheaply made and fell apart . I did buy the cheaper ones but I didn't think they would break in less the 3 months .. second pair they sold me for half the price which I thought he was being super nice .. except those broke after about 5 months or so. .. I wanted my prescription the second time as well and they said they don't keep it in the system :/

I had an appointment and arrive on time, but they kept me waited for 1 hour and 25 mins to get to see the doctor, they said the computer system is delayed, but what I do is dilation and it's irrelevant to any computer data but just a few eye drops. So I finally get the dilation and I have to wait 45 minutes more as it needs time and they let 2 customers cut in my line, so I waited for 2 hours and 45 minutes today. I was so disappointed because this is the second time I came here, and last time I waited for 50 minutes. The doctor is professional and considerate, but the service and their time management is really, really awful!

After trying five frames, the owner was hesitant to let me try other ones and then he told me they were trying to avoid having to clean too many frames. I told him seriously, I need to try more than five frames to see what fits me well. I told him I did not like his attitude. He then told me that "of course as long as it is not 50 frames". Already he was making me feel uneasy of trying a sixth frame so I decided to leave and that he just lost a $1200.00 customer.

Customer service is the worst I have ever seen. I spoke to their representative Vaughan about getting a new pair of glasses but wanted to try using contact lenses first (I was once a contact lens user) and was willing to buy a trial pair. I was told they do not sell trial pairs and I would have to buy a years supply first. I went online and noticed that Acuvue was offering a gift certificate to obtain a free trial pair and listed Laurier Opticals Rideau centre as a participating location. Unfortunately after confirming that I would be going in to meet Vaughan at a particular time he was not in the store and the others did not know where he was, nor seemed interested in helping me out. What shocked me the most was their unwillingness to help and most particularly while I was talking to the representative one of their other staff who was attending to another customer walked up to us interpreted our conversation and said she was leaving and asked the representative to go attend to someone she was in the middle of attending too. I called back about 20 minutes later to speak to Vaughan and he said he was in the store or then again maybe not (he was not sure if he was in or out - really) I find their lackadaisical attitude and customer service appalling and to think I was keen to get my new prescription glasses from them.

Been with them for 1 year. I went back a few days ago, and found out they deleted me off their system. A year ago, they did not tell me to bring anything until I went in myself and was told then and there. I had to come back more than 3 times to get papers which they did not tell me. Also, the sales associates give different answers. The girl suggested me to need thin lenses for more than 100$. Very frustrating experience at this shop. There isn’t a defined section for men’s and women’s glasses (they’re all mixed together by brand name) and it was a nightmare to navigate. Also, they are way overpriced for basic eyewear. We just left and went elsewhere.

Worst experience I`ve had. I never wore glasses before but I notived my eye sight was getting worst so I went there for an eye exam and the Doctor there by the name of Philip Boulous started telling me how irresponsable I was to be driving without glasses. Thats there reason why I'm here genius, to get glasses... I wished I told him that but I stayed very polite and told him that in order to be safe I took an appointement and I want to get some glasses. Then he told me that if he wanted to he could repport me to the police and I would be forced to wear glasses everytime I drive. What is wrong with this guy?!? I wasnt running away yelling ''You will never force me to wear glasses'' I took this appointement for that specific reason. After a few more insults from his part I stood up in the middle of the exam, told him to give me my money back and left.

Had an appointment for a basic eye exam at 1 PM. I showed up on time and was greeted, was told to take a seat and the doctor will be out shortly. Thirty plus minutes go by with me waiting before the same lady who greeted me tells me that the doctor is on his way and it shouldn't be much longer. This was the first time they mentioned there was no doctor on site. 3 other people were now waiting for their appointments as well. Walked out. Not worth it. I'm sure there are better places in Outaouais for an eye exam. Français : Évitez de perdre votre temps avec cet endroit. I had a terrible experience at Laurier Optical. The staff is unprofessional, there was no proper cleaning of the eye machines. Pushy sales associates, who didn't want to hand over my prescription until I purchase glasses or contacts. Additionally, Dr. Mansour prescribed me the WRONG prescription, which required me to see another eye doctor a month later. If you want a proper eye exam I would recommend going Rideau Optometric (in LensCrafters) and ask to see Dr. Crystal Chan.

Optometrist was helpful and gave a good eye exam however the receptionist was very rude and unhelpful. She was on the phone at the same time as helping me. She even made an outgoing call while helping me. Honestly, it seemed like she was annoyed to see me which is ridiculous because I was the only customer in the store. Please listen to these reviews for this location. Absolutely true and worst worst worstttt experience ever (I am serious). They are deceiving and very rude. I left in tears and without glasses as they told me on the phone (the manager) after I tried stopping the process that I was covered for everything and I didn’t owe anything. I went in to go pick them up and was told I owe them money and I “should have known” and after repeatedly explaining to them my conversation with the manager (the manager Hylia) who told me that I didn’t owe anything, she blamed it on another manager. Then Bob told me to go borrow money from my friends. What a way to start the Christmas weekend. Do not go here.

They handled me like a number, I walked in and they evaluated my eyes in under 5 minutes. Thats like 6 or 7 test in that time. They did not make me feel comfortable. They did not deal with my insurance for my eye exam. As i said above the eye exam was in a rush and they also changed my appointment time the same day. they called me at 9 am to change my appointment that same day.

My glasses that should have had an anti-scratch coating scratched easily while I was cleaning them with a cleaning cloth just a few short months after I received my frames. The staff themselves are generally unhelpful and dismissive over the phone and in person, even when things are slow. They would rather usher you away than help you. Beyond hopeless. Machines were dirty and still had eye make-up from previous customer! One of the computers kept freezing during test and staff were not competent enough to actually take the vision reading. Will never come back! When I went for a check up, the doctor was extremely courteous and patient. He answered every question I had and even took the time to explain abnormalities in my eye. After the exam, it took me a really long time to decide on a frame. The staff was really nice and patient. They helped me choose between frames and showed me as many frames as I asked to see. One of the few places that would open during lockdown for new glasses. Unfortunately after a number of visits they cannot get the frames to fit my face properly.

At the St-Laurent location ( now closed) one of the younger staff showed how the metal returns into position by bending the frames at the nose. Bought frames and lenses, $478, I noticed the paint had come off where she bent the frame but it was cosmetic. I kept them because its hard to find a frame that suits my face. First lens came back with a round halo in the middle, barely noticeable except it showed at certain angles in certain light. Now I'm dealing with the Rideau location. They got the lab to replace the lens. The one replacement lens was 7 degrees off rotation from my prescription but no halo. They had changed the lab they deal with. Next replacement would cost $200. I got tired of dealing with them. I double checked my prescription at another doctor, went to another optician. Paid them $260 to get a new lens. No problems. Was it the prescription fault? or the 7 degrees diff? I don't know. A few days ago, putting my glasses on; before my glasses reached my face, they broke in half at the nose. I remembered that id...person... at the old St-Laurent location bending the frames. Went to the Rideau location telling them the whole thing, warranty is expired. There's absolutely nothing they can do. That frame was unique. No replacement frame available. They mentioned that even welding it is a temporary solution. But they don't offer that service. No offer for a reduced price an another pair of glasses even though they had caused the break in my glasses. I've been buying glasses since I was 9 years old. I never went through such a bad experience. I may have to glue them or get them welded.

Avoid them like the plague! Wouldn't even give a star if it were up to me. Garbage service. Like someone else mentioned, you're treated like a number. Actually in our case, it was worse! They speak bare minimum french and dare tell people to move to another country! The owner is a complete tool! After our eye exams for which we paid for, my wife went back a week later just to see if they could give us our pupil distance. My god! As soon as the owner heard my wife is getting our glasses made in the UK he started acting like an idiot and even talked trash to her asking why we don't move there! From an immigrant who barely speaks French with poor english skills, I wouldn't be speaking like that to 1.people in general and 2. particularly customers!

The eye exam doctor was good. But PD is not part of exam so had to go next door to Laurier Optica and the refused to provide my PD. Was told it was illegal from that fat guy that works there. Then I called back asked where it says it's illegal and the girl couldn't tell me. I then asked if it's not illegal is it a policy? She said yes. I asked to see the policy and she said it's not written down. They said they couldn't provide me with my PD cause they could be help liable if I get into a car accident. This is just their scamming way to force you to buy glasses from them. Such a scam. So I went across the street to Axis and they gave me my PD no prob. So I bought 2 pairs of glasses from them. Beware of this location. The optometrist was quite nice and professional, however the woman who "helped" me with ordering trial contact lenses gave me nothing but problems and ruined my first experience. After being forced to commit to buying contacts from them or pay $30 for a trial pair of contact lenses, they didn't bother to call me for over a month to let me know they had arrived. I decided to pop in last week to ask if they had arrived and was surprised to learn they had been there waiting for me. They took me to the back and made me try them on there, but were extremely secretive for some reason about the lenses they gave me. They took the packaging away from me the second I had the lenses in, but they felt strange. When I asked if the prescriptions should be specific to a certain eye they assured me they were the same (even though I later confirmed this was actually not true, and my prescriptions have always been different for my eyes for 20 years). I had incorrect lenses in my eyes and had blurry vision. I knew something was wrong and when I asked to see the packaging, the woman refused to let me see it for some reason. I walked around the office trying to clear my eyes, and walked back over to to the woman's desk where the packaging was. When I went to grab it, she put her had on it and tried to pull it away from me like a child. I caught a glimpse of it and they weren't even the right brand I had ordered. I have a feeling they just grabbed whatever was in the back that was closest to my prescription, I don't think they ordered my lenses in the first place at all. I'm shocked at the service this place offered, people put their trust in these people with their eyesight but they really could care less. Head office was no help as this is a Quebec location, I have been waiting for a call back from the regional manager for 4 days now. I will be sure to update if I ever hear back.

I have no issues with the optometrist. I have issue with owner.. she is always there black hair and glasses. I got my prescription and asked that they write it for me. I wanted to compare it to last year's and also to have it with me.. I paid for it I should be allowed to have the details of my prescription. I lost .25 in one eye and was told it was not necessary for me to get new glasses as there was not a big difference with my current prescription glasses (this is from the optometrist). Anyways this lady gave me such a hard time and told me I can't come back here if I am only going to get my prescription and not buy glasses. I didn't respond and just stared at her as she prepared my prescription info. She kept going and said, what s wrong with our glasses? you are just going to take your prescription and go somewhere else you can't do that... Again I just stared at her.. she was shouting and did this in front of other clients. It was embarassing and I took my prescription and left. She is unbelievably unprofessional. I couldn't believe how rude she was!

Awful service. I ordered contact lenses from and kept being told they would be coming in a few days to a week when in fact it took close to 3 months for them to arrive! Also, one of their employees named Pam has got to be the worst custumer service rep. ever. She is quite rude, sounds extremely annoyed by any question you may have, talks in a condescending way and interrupts you when you are trying to speak. Someone with that attitude should not be interacting with clients as she leaves a terrible taste in the mouth. I honestly dont know if she is aware of doing this but it is a very displeasing experience as a client who is spending their money there. I dont think I will be returning.

My husband's glasses broke and he doesn't have a second pair. To top it off we just relocated to the city, so we had not purchased the glasses here. Had an eye exam at the same location and used to buy my eyeglasses and contacts at this same store for the past 10+ years. After my eye exam I went to ask about contact lenses and was told if I did not like Accuvue I could just look at the book they had with price list... Absolutely no help in deciding what would be best for me. When asked what brand I used was told they are no longer being made and told if I did buy them to get them from the same place (wow how helpful). I then asked if there was a way to obtain samples and if there was a fitting fee as I had not bought contacts there in a couple years and was told they do not have samples and if I wanted some to just buy the contacts. So apparently they no longer do fittings at this location and you can only order contacts now. Also, I was interested in buying a new pair of eyeglasses and all the salesperson there (guy with glasses at the desk) did was hand me a coupon that said there is a discount when you get a eye exam. At no time was any effort made to try and look up my customer info in their computer. As well, my eye exam was not so great. Was told that an issue with my eyelid "was cosmetic" even after I told the optometrist (Dr. Zhang) that it was considered a functional issue and covered under OHIP (as my 2 previous eye surgeries were paid by OHIP before). So to have a Dr completely miss this is just not good.

I bought about eight pairs of glasses from Laurier Optical and they are great. I've changed my style a lot. I have sports glasses, shooting glasses and regular glasses. I’m really on a budget and I didn’t want to spend $300 to $700 on a pair of glasses even though my insurance covers most of it. So I decided to go with Laurier Optical and they’ve been awesome so far. I’ve been buying from them for about two years. The quality is really good for being at such a low price. I get the cheapest pairs and I like them a lot. They are durable plastic and I’ve only had one pair break on me out of the eight. I feel that the ordering process could be easier with certain items like the sports glasses. There needs to be more variety in them and I would love that and it would be great for everyone.

I went there last week to buy glasses and contacts after lens crafters. The quality of customer service and hospitality is outstanding for a small store like that. All the team members i believe two guys and two girls as well as the manager, who was an extremely friendly guy, greeted me and explained their promotions. I was treated very poorly, once I mentioned I was on disability. Which was basically a none issue , since I had been saving up. So that I wouldn't have to stay within the perimeters, that disability would allow. This was a mature lady in her fifties or maybe sixty. I was the only customer in the store. All the sudden it was like l was an undesirable. Will never go there ever again, she needed to qualify her customer better than that.

Worst place to buy contact lens. They made me purchase a WHOLE years supply of contact lens before giving me trial ones. This was when I even said I have not worn contact lens before. Turns out the trial lens that came with the supply was no good for me. Kept giving me other lense, none good. So when I decided to reduce my supply to six months and change to a different brand (made it much cheaper) they refused to give me back the difference. Instead he said he would do store credit. All they care about is scamming you. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.

Last year I got my me glasses and prescription from Laurie Optical. I picked them up the day of lock down and had my first adjustment 3 months later. Now I should mention during my eye exam I never saw anything clear and wondered how my new glasses were going to work. I had 2 more adjustments always mentioning that the distance was not clear. On my last adjustment they said they would speak with the doctor and call me, nothing ever happened. A couple of weeks ago I went for my yearly exam and told all this to the doctor. After a more clearer exam he said that my prescription had changed but he would try to replace for free. Well that did not happen and was told they would like $300.00 to replace my lenses. Funny there was a lady ahead of me and I overheard her conversation and she to had to have her prescription changed after a year for $300.00. Seems to be the magic number. Went to another optometrist in Brockville who improved my prescription from Laurier. Also my eye issues mention from Laurier do not exist and the prescription eye drops not needed. Their up sell for progressive bifocals is also a cash grab.

The staff there are nice enough. Problem is where they have the lenses made. Second time now they were made incorrectly. First time was just the bifocals. This time, the glasses are not useable. Can't even see out of them. Looks like all was done is they added glass to it. They look thicker, and even the bifocals are smaller. Hope they don't think I don't see the difference. I liked the price of the eye exam ($80) and Dr. Zhang was very good. No complaints there. My only observation that was concerning was the way the store manager was treating a staff member. While she was attentive to customers, she was abrasive towards her staff member. I like to support companies that treat their employees with dignity and respect so my only feedback would be that- be respectful to your staff. Moods tend to trickle onto others. A happy working environment will create a happy shopping environment.

I had a major eye emergency last year - I lost my vision completely, and their Optometrist saw me upon my arrival at the store, My 3 year old just had her eye glasses replaced at no additional charge when the lenses ended up being too heavy for the frames we selected and weren't staying on her face, and my husband has been going here and ONLY here since a MAJOR eye operation 4 years ago. Excellent service, very professional, kind and considerate! Helpful as ever, curtious and patient as any customer could ask for. I bought one pair of prescription glasses and frames, with a combined cost of around $500.00. The process of measuring my eyes for the lenses seemed much less through than it has in the past, but I've not had any problems with my vision. When I picked up the glasses, I was not given the case that goes with the frames I bought, but one from a different designer. There was no cleaning cloth included. If I were buying discount glasses and generic frames, I wouldn't care, but that kind of thing is not acceptable at this price point. Upon pick-up, the sales attendant did no even offer to fit the frames and seemed a bit taken aback when I asked. Overall, the service was courteous but fell short on professionalism. I would expect this type of service when buying non-prescription sun-glasses, not prescription eye-wear. Two weeks later, one of the lenses seems a bit loose. I would not shop at this location again.

My prescription is wrong. The extras that were to be added were not. (I have an astigmatism. So its important I do not have lights bouncing on my glasses). When I called back to tell them this, they said it was "too late. It could only be done at time of making my glasses. No other solution offered." Do not buy anything from this store, because you will never get it. The sales Melkon said if I bought 6 month supply, he cound give me 3 month extra for free, so I I did. They said it'll only take about a week to get the contacts, but I waited for a month, the contacts were still not here, and the sales Melkon who sold me the contacts went AWOL, the manager Nicolas said he didn't know anything about my order, but he could send out tryouts for me while I was waiting for the contacts. And again the tryout never arrived!!! I called several times to confirm the tracking number, manage Nicolas said they've already send out the tryouts, but they did not know the tracking number, and he had no idea where were the tryouts. The another manager with a bad attitude verbally attacked me and asked me if I need a refund, he can send me a check in three weeks!!! And now I didn't receive my refund or my contacts, Laura Optical is a store full of frauds!!! If you want to buy something from them, you may just give the money to homeless!

Was treated very porly by the doctor, no respect for women it seemed like. I also told him that I was leagal blind in one eye, He was trying to do my eye exam and literally told me that " I was not corporateing with him" This is because he was trying to shine a very bright light in my eyes. The doctor told me "I was moving my eyes" when I was not! When he took the light away from my eyes, they where drenched in tears from trying to keep my eyes open so long for the eye doctor to Inspect my eyes. The experience at this store was exceptional. They came highly referred and they did not disappoint. Dr Zhang was amazing. Patient, gentle, thorough, and professional. The salespeople on the floor were attentive, diligent, and listened to my preferences. The eye exam is very reasonably priced at $80. However, the frames are exorbitantly priced. Thinning and scratch-proofing the lenses is also extremely overpriced at this retailer. Though the equipment in Dr Zhang's office was clean (I watched her sanitize all instruments before use) the equipment in the pre-exam room was visibly dirty. I will return for Dr Zhang's flawless service but next time will interject that all machines should be cleaned before use. I will also continue to purchase frames and lenses elsewhere.

2 yrs ago my husband and I both got an eye exam and glasses from here. We spent $1,075 and $700 respectively on new glasses. When my husband picked his up, he couldn't see - the owner told him his eyes were just tired and to go home, things would be better in morning. Morning came and he still couldn't see. Come to find out, they put the wrong prescription in them. Then when they fixed it, he still couldn't see and they wouldn't help him. We now see another optometrist in Brockville who also does glasses. Excellent service, and excellent prices. We paid 1/2 of what we did at Laurier. They are nothing but rip off artists - We do not recommend them.

The customer service at this location is not that great (most notably the receptionist) so, I've decided to order online from now on and I save about 30% compared to in store. Boy was I ever ripped off! I paid over $700 for glasses. I decided to get a new pair as these made me look like Mr. Magoo. I went and they have a very limited selection for petite women. I went to Hakim and picked out a beautiful pair within 1 minute of being there. Then we tried to get Laurier to fax my prescription. Well, first their fax was broken, then they said they would email it, excuse after excuse. Hakim Optical had to phone 4 times. I waited over an HOUR for Laurier to send my prescription! Utter nonsense. Laurier said they were busy. I stepped outside, called Laurier and tore them a new one. I told them to send it in the next 5 minutes or I would be in to see them and I would be very loud and very angry. Well, surprise, surprise. They faxed it over. Yep, they lied and said their fax was broken. At Hakim, I got frames that were the same price plus anti glare, transitions and shatter proof frames -. All that for $200 cheaper than at Laurier optical. There I just got progressives and nothing else, no anti glare, no unbreakable lenses and no transitions. Laurier optical is A TOTAL RIP OFF! Do yourself a favour and go to Hakim Optical. They're far, far less expensive, have a better selection and the lady helping me was wonderful
