Here you will see the feddbacks of people like you who know the products of UPMC Eye Center (Ophthalmologist) in Churchill area (Canada).
At present the firm gets a rating of 3.3 stars over 5 and that rating has been based on 38 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is average, and it's founded on a very high number of opinions, so we may think that the evaluation is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to leave their feddback when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to write scores when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Ophthalmologist corresponds to the category of Eye care center.
Got me in for a same day emergency appointment for a fractured eye socket long wait but good staff.
A family member sees Dr. Gabrielle Bonhomme and she's excellent. Very pleasant, detailed, and explains so we understand exactly what's going on. Very helpful. I highly recommend her
I came here for an emergency situation. I was told yesterday I may have a detachment of the retina which is an emergency. I have been sitting here waiting for 3 hours to be seen by a doctor. Then I am told he went to a meeting?? Really. It is now 3hrs and 15 min. I WILL NEVER come here again.
I placed an order for eyeglasses at the UPMC Presbyterian Eye Store. It's been almost two weeks and I haven't heard back from the shop. I tried calling the shop multiple times but nobody attends to the calls. This is probably the worst eye shop service I have seen in my life.
This office staff here is a joke. I made an appointment a month ago. And they just called again today (after I have already confirmed my appointment through text with UPMC and they called and confirmed), the day before my appointment I’ve waited at least a month for, to tell me they don’t take my insurance. Seriously?!? Your just figuring out and confirming that now? The woman was rude on the phone too. Unbelievable!
Dr Errera is very friendly and helpful. She always makes your feel at ease and safe in her care. I cannot recommend her enough. She always makes time to answer your questions and is very kind.
I can't say enough good things about Dr. Bonhomme and the Eye Center. After a very very bad experience at another neuro-ophthalmology practice I wasn't sure what to expect but everything from check-in to meeting with the staff and physicians through testing and consultation was a great experience. I was very surprised by the amount of time Dr. Bonhomme spent with me learning about my problem, thoroughly examining me and understanding my symptoms. I truly appreciate that she spent the time to explain everything she saw and her understanding of the cause of my vision issues. Dr. Bonhomme is very knowledgeable and I am reassured that my diagnosis is finally correct (after 2 years and many specialists) and I have hope again that I will be back to normal. Kudos to the practice manager at the eye center. Everyone from the front desk through checkout was competent, kind, and efficient. The practice is clean, well-staffed and has state of the art instrumentation with highly trained professionals to operate it. The whole visit was entirely pleasant and I appreciate the work that goes in to operating such a large practice.
I used to visit the Eye Center for regular optometry services, and most recently I received Lasik from Drs. Dhaliwal and Matharu, and I could not be more thrilled with the results! As with all of UPMC's teaching facilities, they are extremely thorough, and I would highly recommend the Eye Center to anyone, but specifically anyone looking for specialized or surgical care.
A little confusing to get to since it was the first time I visited on 5/6/19. However, I was pleased with the care I received from both Dr. McCall and his resident, Dr. Thomas Kaffenberger. I learned a great deal about Meniere's Disease and bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. Wish me luck on good MRI results!
I'm still waiting for my 11am appointment and it's 1:10pm. I went and asked if I could reschedule if it was going to be much longer, and was told by an irritated nurse that their was still a patient ahead of me. What kind of answer was that! I told her I drove 4 hours to get here, and was here the 30 min before scheduled time as told to be, and now I still have yet to see a Dr. I also told her I'd like to get home before dark! On the plus side they close at 4 so I know I'll be able to leave by then. Unless they forget me and lock me in.
I was referred to this office after an ER trip (because they are the best) and I was scared and confused. The staff, the nurses and Dr. Ererra herself made the appointment a whole lot less scary and confusing. True they weren’t “super fast” but I feel like they took their time with me to run all necessary tests and the doctor even apologized to me about running behind but didn’t want to rush going over my results and condition which I appreciate greatly. They all were polite and were professional to correctly diagnose me and my condition which I feel may have gone undiagnosed or unanswered elsewhere. I left grateful that I have found such an amazing medical team and that I am in such great hands finally. Nothing but raving reviews and five stars for this Dr, the staff, the office and UPMC. THANK YOU <3
Huge F for the scheduling staff. Almost 4 hours of wait time on the phone stretching over 4 days and finally someone returning my call. When told I scheduled someone else she sounded upset I didnt waste more time calling again canceling my request.
The center is normally great, including Dr. Mammen and the other ophthalmologists I see for chronic eye problems. Dr. Prakash, however, talked to me like I was stupid and didn't listen. If it wasn't for me advocating for my own health, he would have sent me out of the office with bad advice. I'll never see him again.
I had "eye lift" surgery 1 yr ago...the staff was amazing and the exam was very thorough, I was NOT happy with the end result of the lift..I still have the same droopy lids I started with...I'm not the least bit happy with the results...if I had known this was going to be the end results I would have looked elsewhere.
I have been here many times. The staff is usually very friendly, but depends on who you have of course. The waits can be extremely long, so bring a book or something to keep you occupied. That being said, I still am happy to come here, I trust the staff and expect the best medical and vision care.
Dont go here unless you have all day to sit and wait they are slowwwwwwwwwwwwwww
Went to this office as emergency, detached retina. First evaluation was by Dr Gallagher, excellent. Very personable, explained everything that needed done and the urgency. Conferred with Dr. Rosin immediately he came in exam and discussed the importance of the surgery. Both doctors made sure I understood everything in simple terms and answered all questions. But were concerned with a heart procedure I was to have done the next day. I told them that had been canceled because my cardiologist thought this was more important to save my eye sight. Dr. Gallagher talked immediately to my cardiologist, he faxed over the clearance within minutes. Eye surgery was done next day. Very happy with the care I got would recommend them highly!!
This was my 1st appointment at the St Margaret office. My initial contact was with Anja who took the intake info and measured my eyes. She did a great job in explaining what she was doing. She was kind, patient and great at answering questions. She made me feel at ease. Then I saw Dr. Kamyar who was also very kind, knowledgeable and great explaining the testing and interpretation of the tests that were done. Her focus was on you and made you feel important. Vesla did scanning and was also pleasant and great with explanations. This is a class act office and 1st impression was an A+ for me.
Good luck calling any of these places to directly get in touch with your Doctor. One nurse(?) suggested I use the app. Like I’m supposed to text my Dr. these days?
7mounth appointments to get hard contact lenses( 3 appointments).. Most unprofessional and time wasting ever. That could be done in 2 weeks on other hospitals.
I’m very thankful for everything that Dr. Mammen has done for me. He pretty gave me my life back. I was having multiple issues with my cornea eroding and had to drop out of college and quit my job. I couldn’t even go outside during the day. After having Superficial Keratectomy surgery with epithelial debridement polishing in both corneas, I feel very grateful because I honestly wasn’t sure if I would ever be back to normal. I can go outside without having to cover my eyes for the first time in almost 3 years. Couldn’t ask for anything more
I am very happy with Dr. Anetakis. He is professional, and explains, plus the eyelea he injected is MUCH better than the other drug a previous doctor injected. Once you get in the office, the office staff is good, but the phone system is made to keep you jumping through hoops without getting a person instead of actually answering questions or even just confirming an appointment. If you want answers you have to go in person and expect a long wait. This place is always busy. Also, they really should have the fax number on the website--Calling to get records sent is a full time job for the patient!
Been coming here for five years after a minor problem and now I am blind in one eye. Yes, blind. I can’t even count how many surgeries I’ve had. Everything is the cookie-cutter approach. One size fits all. This place is not even in the rankings nationally and now I know why. On top of that, if you do come here plan on waiting a very long time for your appointment because they’re never on time. If you can travel, go to Johns Hopkins. It’s only three or four hours away from Pittsburgh and they are ranked number two in the country and they put this place to shame in every regard.
I am here with my daughter and 2 grandchildren her appointment was for 10:20 am and it is now 12:07 pm and she has yet to be seen by a doctor. A nurse rudely came and shut the door saying my grandchildren were to loud people were complaining well gee they are hungry and NO ONE should have to wait for a doctor an hour and 50 minutes after their appointment. Had we had been seen in a timely manner we would have been in and out within a half hour of appointment as doctor only looks at her for 20 minutes. Bad move for a health care facility I know I will go somewhere other than here!
Very professional and lucky to have this center in Pittsburgh. Emergency vitrectomy done without complications.
I've never been to a slower and more unprofessional doctor's office in my life. I really don't understand the point in making an appointment if you won't be seen until 2-3 hours after the time of the appointment. So if you need to go here for even the simplest exam then I recommend not having any other plans to do anything for that day because you will waste most of your day here
Best eye care for emergency situations. Very through investigation and diagnosis. Spent plenty of time explaining the situation. I guess how severe your problem is might dictate the speed of service
