Friendly staff, quick to get an appointment, and hardly ever a wait. The doctors are friendly and informative. I bought glasses from here, and they've been really good to fix/tune-up the glasses whenever I needed it!

The staff here were great and very patient with my 3 year old's first appointment which involved several tests over a 2 hour period. They were also very helpful choosing his glasses though in the end we ended up getting the glasses elsewhere. Not much of a selection for kid glasses and the ones they had were all metal which my 3 year old would have destroyed a few times by now.

After moving back to PEI and in need of an eye exam, I took the recommendation to go to Drs Hickey, Burke & Associates. I contacted them and they redirected me to Island Optical (an affiliate or something maybe?). I inquired about contact lenses and had an eye exam. When I had an eye exam, the doctor wanted me to come back a few months later for an eye scan. I tried my contact lenses, they didn't help my vision all that much. When I had my next appointment at Hickey, Burke I asked about the prescription since it seemed like a significant departure from my previous prescription and they said they couldn't look into it because I had lost one of the contact lenses (fair enough, my fault for losing it, I guess). They gave me a new trial set and said that they'd look into them when I had my scan. I had my scan at Island Optical in May 2019 at this clinic and they didn't even ask about the contact lenses. It's July now and I haven't even been contacted to ask how the lenses were or given any info about how the eye scan went. Their communication to patients could use a LOT of work. I would recommend to friends and family to look elsewhere. Or maybe I just got lost in the crack. Either way, better options are probably out there

These people are very friendly. Dr. Hickey is a very good doctor and person. If I had to choose an eye doctor, I'd hope he be as good as Dr. Hickey.

I was a loyal customer for 10 years. I brought my daughter, husband and mother here as well, having spent several thousands of dollars on glasses over the years. Recently however, I found they are so busy that you wait months for an appointment and there is a lot of new staff that don’t seem to be as conscientious as the long-term staff. Normally we would receive a call when a pair of glasses that we ordered comes in. We did not receive a call when my mother’s glasses were ready to be picked up. But of course when I called them, I was told I must have been called. Three days ago I called re my daughter’s glasses as they had been ordered on April 8th. Not in yet...some excuse about a staff member taking Monday off work has delayed things...give it a day or two. Today I was admittedly 16 min late for my appointment. First time any of our family has been late for an appointment there. I was told I would have to rebook...amazing isn’t it how as a customer I’m expected to forgive all their delays and mistakes but I don’t receive the same consideration. My daughter’s glasses are no where to be found by the way. They just lost 4 amazing customers!

The worst place ever to get any eye wear. They are extremely rude. The best thing about this branch is Dr. Acorn, she is an absolute sweetheart and very professional. The staff are just irresponsible and rude. The first time I went they gave me the wrong prescription contact lenses, my number is a -4 and they gave me a +6 so I had nothing to wear on Christmas day. The second time I went was for my sister who wanted contacts, they gave us an appointment here at island optical well before Christmas, they say to go here mid January and when we paid a taxi to take us there they told us her contacts had not even arrived yet! That is ridiculous because they sent us two text messages asking if we were coming in for the contacts on the day of our appointment yet they were extremely rude when we went there, so disrespectful and defensive for no reason. Waste of time and money.
