I’ve been going to this place for years for my eye exams and purchase of contact lenses. Everyone is very friendly and the doctors always take their time to answer all my questions.
Been going to this place for yrs...never an issue..
Dr.Vikram is a great eye doctor :) highly recommended! One star off because the front entrance is very very small and very hard to accommodate people waiting. Also, they did not sanitize things in front of me, hoping they did it in advance. But I think it would make customers much more at ease if they see the sanitization process. Book your appointment or you could be stuck waiting a long time for walk-in. I got in super fast because I booked!
Extremely pleasant experience at the optometrist! Dr. Mangat was my optometrist, and he made sure I understood every details of my own exam. He explained in depth about my vision exam and clearly explained his concerns with my retinal scans. Very professional, would love to follow up every year here.
so basically, they don't sell me the contact lens if I don't keep paying them for eye exam every 2 years. Reception is non sense.
One of the best eye clinic! Dr. Dosanjh is super nice and friendly. He always makes sure you'll have a very comfortable experience. Maria was also super nice and helpful!
I've been going here since I was a child and they've always been very professional with me. I had no wait at all when I came in for my appointment. I was contacted within 5 days notifying me my trial contacts had arrived and they were fine with me coming to pick them up a couple days later.
Horrible customer service: once you're a customer they drop the service. 1) called for eye exam and I could come in one hour (wow, amazing) 2) asked the price for gas permeable contact lenses. Told me they were $250/pair. They told me they had bifocal contacts also for 250/pair. Awesome! After the eye exam I asked again for the bifocal contact lenses. Price was 250 a pair they assured me. Great I order them. They PROMISED me 3-5 workdays delivery. Very important because I lost one of my contacts and with only 1 lens I can't read, drive and so on. Next day they call me to TELL ME the price was now 500$ a pair. Did I still want them? Of course not. If I get twice a quote for 250/pair and you double the price overnight I don't want that. If they would have told me they were mistaken or sorry the story would have been different, but no such thing, so I assume there was no mistake made and they just doubled their price overnight. So I ordered just one normal hard contact lens (I don't need a pair since I only lost one). 3-5 workdays right? After a week I call them.... They will be here "end of the month". I said "Whaat?!" then it became suddenly "next Monday" Week after I came in on Wednesday (30th) and they still don't have my lens. Same excuse (Toronto store is closed now, I can't call them). Then she asked if I still want my order... That sounded really as if they not yet even ordered them in. Today delivery time changed in 8-10 workdays. Really lousy customer service. They are just not trustworthy. I wish I had read the reviews before I went. They I would have just gone for the exam. I was so lucky I ordered glasses at clearly.ca (KItsalano store) the same day. I am happily wearing those for almost two weeks already so I could drive and so on.
We visited DR. G.S. Rai, the 1st prescription was wrong and also very so not legible so that I had to call them and ask what are these numbers before ordering the glasses, not only by us but eyeglasses company. We had to reschedule 2nd visit due to the glasses causing bad headaches and distortion and obviously a wrong number, at first he said the glasses company made a mistake,,, then he started giving us options to which option #1 was wearing the glasses until get used to it, so I asked, so the glasses are made correctly? And he confirmed yes. Once I said this glasses as they are, are not usable -giving distortion and unbearable headaches- he suddenly became rude and said okay option 2 is I gave the same numbers as your current glasses and once we said yes, he jotted down quickly and handed me the prescription and left the room abruptly. Yet the worst part is when I checked the 2nd prescription,, it was obviously wrong since it didn’t have the farsightedness number at all for the left eye! So this was a disaster experience and wasted time/money on going for appointments twice and waiting 2 weeks for my glasses to be made with wrong prescription. Now I’m back to square one. Avoid this DR. Rai if you value your time/money, I’m surprised by the amount of unprofessionalism. Front desk tho I have to say were very nice and responsive.
I've been a patient here for the past few years. I see a different doctor each time. All the doctors I've encountered are upbeat and amiable. My only gripe is the wait time, as appointments typically don't run on time. I've waited anywhere between 15 minutes to 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment.
Dr Dusanjh is a pretty great doctor. He explains everything and goes beyond the basic eye exams that I'm used to. During my last visit he showed me actual photos of my optic nerve and everything looked good! I've never had that done before. The front staff is also easy going and helpful. Everyone at this office is very personable.
I’ve been going to this clinic for eye exams and anything eye related ever since I moved to Burnaby 7 years ago. Amazing service and never had a problem.
I've been getting my eyes tested here for years. Doctors are very friendly and it felt very safe for testing.
My mom had some issues with her eye sight. Thinking maybe she needed new glasses, we went to see Dr Rai for regular eye exam /check-up for my mom and thanks to Dr Rai, it turns out, he was able to catch(find) another underlying medical condition that my mom had. He immediately sent us to hospital after the exam and he was right with his possible diagnosis. I couldn’t thank him enough for this; otherwise we probably would have never known or if we went to another doctor they maybe would have missed or would not urge us to go to a hospital. Thank you so much Dr Rai.
Went there a couple of weeks before for an eye consultation. The two girls at the reception told me they couldn't give me an appointment as the time slots are full. But but but........If I could pay $100 right out of my pocket, I'd getting an appointment that day. That's hilarious!!!!! Even the couple who were there for consultation got surprised by the thing they heard. I went there after taking the day off from work since my right eyelid had a swelling and it was painful. My situation was clearly visible to the girls out there. Even if you walk in there with a serious problem, the people wouldn't be helping you out. JUST BUSINESS FOR THEM. This is a money-making business right in the heart of metropolis. I saw the website says at the end Walk in are welcome (May be to send you back home :( ) This might be the new ethics.
What a bad experience! I went one day before to check the cost for a contact lens and the next day when I went to take the exam and pay the lents, the receptionist change everything that they told me the day before. What a waste of time!!!
The experience was absolutely horrible. Not only did they make me wait almost 50 minutes, even though an appointment was made, the optometrist was rude and unapologetic. I had an eye exam done and a prescription written for my contacts but his writing was scattered and illegible. I was turned away at clearly contacts in downtown because multiple people there were unable to read his writing and give me the proper set of contacts. What a waste of time. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. P.S. The receptionist was really nice though!
Dr. Gandham was very informative and thorough during the eye examination. The front staff were relatively friendly. I didn’t wait very long for my appointment on a Thursday afternoon.
Went to Metropolis Eyecare Center to replace glasses that broke during a flight to Vancouver. Staff and doctor were very nice and personable, regrettably I was given a prescription that did not work for me, making my near and mid vision blury. The only thing they were willing to do is to review the prescription 4 days later, in my opinion quite useless solution. So as nice as the people were this clinic gets a FAIL from me.
Don’t bother booking an appointment here because you’re just going to have to wait 20-40 mins. What’s the point of appointments when they’re not on time? The waiting room was packed. After being annoyed with waiting here I went to Eyes Inspire by The Bay in metro which did my exam immediately. I called before hand and they were free to do my eye exam. Won’t be back for eye exams.
Unfortunately, this place has gone downhill over the years. I was a patient of Dr. Rai for 15 years, (since a child), and have been going to get all my eye examinations done there. The office have recently hired newer, inexperienced receptionists, who always sound confused and are quite incompetent in their roles and responsibilities. My most recent visit involved an eye exam. When i showed up for it, I was told they were unable to take me that day, as the doctor that usually sees me, Dr Rai, was not in that day. Because he was overseeing my file for eye surgery, no other doctor could see me that day as I am his patient, and i would have to come back some time in the future. I informed them it took me over an hour to commute here, and that it was not my fault that their reception made a mistake. After arguing with the receptionist for a good 15minutes, they agreed to take me. Fast forward two weeks, I needed a referral note for eye surgery for extended health approval. The office rejected it and I was told they were not going to supply that. Again, after demanding them to speak to Dr Rai, they then provided the note. This office needs to either re-train its receptionists, or find better front of staff, otherwise I suspect more customers might transfer elsewhere. I, along with my mom are no longer customers here. Also, no notification of them transferring my files when i requested it to my new optometrist. Why wouldn't you confirm this? Anyways, this re-affirmed that it was the correct decision to leave this place.
With msp i spent 30 or 35 dollars , because it was Sat. so they told me to come again for some other checks. Then next Wed. I went there on time, they let me go to a room to do one check which was i need to click once i saw the white spots. After that , i went to the other room to do one more check again that i already did last Sat..... And then, that's all! No doctor, no other check, i came again on workday just for clicking the white spots.... Even when i did that nobody was with me.... So i really don't understand how special that room is ,, that i need to have to come on workdays. And where is the doctor? Where is the doctor? Where is the doctor?
One of the best eye doctors in BC. Sraff are pleasant.
Great staff, very fast service. Booked online and got appointment same day. Super clean as well, highly recommend will be going back next year!
Service was fine but I had to wait 40 minutes after my appointment time.
These optometrists are consistently kind, upbeat and friendly. I have been going here for decades and my grown children love them, too. The doctors are all very patient and will take the time to explain everything. You will not find better optometrists anywhere else!!!
