Do not go to this optometrist, he will tell you your vision is worst then it actually is so that he can make more money by urging you to get a new prescription and glasses. MONEY GRAB!!!!

Pros: They are polite, listen to you and try their best to give you best service. Cons: - I have had an issue with my glasses since I got them. Objects seem bent looking through glasses. I went there again and after a lot of trying they weren't able to fix / identify it. They are not true to their words. Initially before I was purchasing the Groupon, I asked them about insurance. I was told at the counter that the Groupon can be reimbursed from the Insurance provider. I specifically asked about it. They added that if there is some issue, they will provide a receipt too. However when now insurance is asking for a receipt, they said they cannot give the receipt since technically they didn't purchase the service from them. If they told the truth beforehand, I would have made a better decision.

Fair prices and the doctor was super nice and informative. He didn't just want you to buy stuff from his store, it seemed like he genuinely cared about my eyes and what was best for them. Everyone was nice and it was a great experience overall, definitely my new regular optometrist from now on :)

I came here for an eye exam before I got eye surgery. I felt quite pressured into getting the full post op package with them, I didn't feel comfortable committing to this without having met the dr/had an eye exam with him before. They wouldn't accommodate this at all and I was told I couldn't wait until after the eye exam to upgrade my eye exam to a full (yr long commitment, $300 upcharge) post op package. I was quite disappointed by this because I just wanted some experience with the Dr before committing to him for 1 full year (which also makes sense as the reviews for this place are not great). So I ended up just getting the eye exam, this meant that they didn't do the dilated refraction that my laser eye surgery clinic had asked me to get. That was ok because she warned me that he may not without the full package purchase. Eye exam was the fastest eye exam I've ever had, I'm going to be doing some calling around but I don't think I will be going here for my post op and honestly I'm a little concerned that due to how fast my eye exam was conducted it may not be accurate? This seems like something very important before I have eye surgery so I may go somewhere else to get an eye exam before my surgery too. Dr Gandham was friendly and professional and showed me some cool imagery of my eye I'd never seen before so I'm giving 3 stars in recognition of that. Update - it's two days later and I went to a different optometrist, they were infinitely better and produced a slightly different prescription which I trust more as they actually took the time to examine me and did everything right that this place did wrong. I will be doing my post op appointments with them, despite being an extra 30 mins further away than this place. I certainly will not return to Image Optometry. I have dropped a star from my original rating after experiencing this second optometrist and feeling so much more confident in the service she gave me (which involves paying as I go and not forcing me into a big lump sum before she did the exam, overall her pricing was the same too).

The eye exam was fine, it was the front end service that was terrible. My glasses arrived in a case that was too small and when I mentioned this the girl at the front said that was all they had. After a week of using my glasses I noticed a small mark on each of the lenses from the case being too small. I went in to see if they could fix it or if my scratch resistant package that I purchased covered it. Guess what....Nope! I asked if I wasted my money on the package and why it didn't cover it and she said "Well actually you paid for uv protection as well on that deal" The customer service is below par, it's actually crap and I will never go there again and neither should you. I am so glad we didn't get my wife's glasses there.

That Victor guy provides no customer service and is always on his phone. The company is so poorly managed that the management such like victor talks behind his own employee's back. If you want to get good glasses and not have to worry about refund go to Lenscrafters, its a little bit more expensive but at least if you change your mind you can have a refund. Also most doctors at Image are either just young interns or they are blacklisted from the optical industry. Victor, one of the manager is a prime example of one of the blacklisted member.

My Opinion

Disappointed at the way Dr. Ing conducted my eye exam. Did not give me option where I would get the chance of comparing the old and new prescription like all other doctor do. He assumes everything. And keeps talking to himself! In fact I have no intention of using his prescription and use my old one as I do not trust the new corrections he has made. I will NEVER want to see place again. I cannot believe the responses from the owner. Outrageous! How long will you continue running this business with such attitude is beyond belief!

I have been seeing Dr. Gandham and Dr. Mangat since they took over from my former optometrist. I am so grateful to them, they are wonderful doctors. Whether I have had to see them on an emergency basis, or I have made an appointment, they have always taken their time to address my concerns and I have always been fitted with the perfect prescription/glasses/contact lenses for my needs. The new store has a great selection of frames to choose from to fit ANY budget! I was thrilled to find frames at online-comparable pricing. Agnes went out of her way to find me suitable frames and the right lenses package within my conservative budget. I got my glasses within a week. One of the lenses came scratched, so they ordered a new one right away and at no cost to me. Really impressed with the customer service and how quickly everything was handled from start to finish.

The doctor is very rude and unprofessional, along with the staff... They are nice but very unknowledgeable. Overpriced and it just seems shady. I accidentally went to this Dr.Gandham instead of Dr.Gilani who is also located in the mall. Save yourself the stress and go to the other optometrist because this one doesn't deserve your business. Left me with a bad taste in my mouth and an over $500 bill for 1 years worth of contacts and a pair of their cheapest lenses (DIDNT EVEN BUY ANY FRAMES!) Would give 0 stars if I could

One star is too many. This is a scam. A pair of glasses with your eye exam? Don’t go! The prescription was wrong, the exam was wrongfully done and the useless pair of lenses/glasses have no refund, exchange nor fixing. What a waste of money and time!! I just threw $90 to the garbage.

This location has good floor staff and made it easy to order contact lenses. However, Dr Gandham is bad at communication, and the manager Vikram Mangat, decided to deal with a wrong-frames mistake by saying that they were fine and getting frustrated instead of discussing solutions or checking if the frames worked. If you want customer service, I'd suggest going elsewhere.

Cannot adequately express how incompetent the people at this branch are. I have been chasing contact lenses up from them for over a month and everyone I speak to in the countless times I have had to phone to chase it up, says something different. They didn't provide the contact lenses initially phoned to chase them up the lady said we needed to track down an old order number from 4 years ago from the Kingsway branch. This took weeks of calls and leaving messages and emailing and finally they got back to us with that order number. Last week I phoned the Lougheed branch again and was told I would definitely get a call the next day. Five days later I am again chasing it up myself. The person I just spoke to now tells me they'll order the contact lenses from the eye test for glasses that they did initially and they didn't actually need that old order number. However they still have not ordered them despite making notes on the account. I have to chase it up to force them into ordering it. While on the phone trying to sort this out the woman put me on hold for 25 mins until they closed so never got back to me. I have now been trying to phone for half an hour. Now I will have to chase it up YET AGAIN! The original test over a month ago took over an hour because their system is so incredibly inefficient. The test itself took a few minutes. The rest was waiting while they passed us from one person to another and told us nothing. Again cannot express enough how incompetent these people are and how much time of your life you will spend chasing them up. The lady I spoke to now obviously just put me on hold until her shift was over then just left.

Since they came under new ownership I've experienced such an increase in reliability and customer service. The new staff are incredibly personable and were extremely helpful to me. After loosing my glasses they were able to have me all set with a new pair on the same day i went to get new ones. Overall having better experiences here!

I have been in the store a few times and surprised to see all the bad reviews and wonder how they are still in business. It's so tough to find good service now days, and seems this manager/owner has an attitude as well and needs a reality check just as their staff. REVIEWS like the many do help safe time and look elsewhere as there are many optical stores. Now what really surprises me is how this optician is still in business as well and why they have not fired him yet!

I had a wonderful experience at Image! Dr Gandham was helpful, informative, and friendly. It felt like they really look their time to make sure the exam was thorough and that I understood everything. After the exam itself I was helped by Agnes to find some new frames that fit my face and my budget, and she was lovely to deal with! Extremely friendly and chatty, and helped me to narrow down my choices and show me options when I told her some details I was looking for. I’ll definitely be back again!

Don't understand why the reviews are either 5 or 1 star. So that i decide to write my own since i am a "real person" :) . i had my eyes checked 2018 Nov, was a quick exam , did the 90 dollars exam i don't remember what the thing is called, but the doc walk me through my pic, and explain what health eyes are vs unhealthy ones. and then he ask if i have any question. i think it's fair enough, since it is not a restaurant waiter situation, its just more a consultant service. So nothing bad with it, but nothing worth 5 starts too.

I called in explicitly asking if they were able to do an eye exam providing a prescription for a 2 children, a 6 year old with autism and a 4 year old who is preliterate and doesn't yet know all his ABCs. I received very assertive answers that this was absolutely something they could provide. At the appointment both my kids were barely given cursory exams by the assistant and the doctor spend less than 5 minutes to tell me he couldn't get their Rx and then referred them on to a Pediatric Opthamologist with a 4 month wait list. Of course we were billed for both exams. Don't go here, they are just a billing mill and will scoot you out as fast as they can after they get their money.

Great service turnaround. Was able to effectively diagnose my light astigmatism and find me something that fits my benefit coverage and style. Best to visit them earlier in the day while they're open rather than later but as a transit operator, sometimes not always possible. Would recommend and repeat visit in the future 100%!

It is quite unfortunate when the receptionist, first two letters of her name were Br, was quite rude and not giving me the information I would like to have, to ensure that my visit would be covered by my insurance. When I was asking for clarification, she suggested that I just go for the visit and "the insurance would pay what they would pay".

Absolutely over priced AND RIP OFF !!!!! Do not listen to the retail people. The guy who helped is named victor and he said "this store is selling at a low price so the glasses are at a good discounted price and can't give discount more than off tax. Guess what. Sunglass hut is selling at cheaper price without a discount. I paid 150 dollars more for buying 2 sunglasses here than buying from some other place like sunglass hut or online. I recommend you to go somewhere else if you wanna pay a Right amount of money not OVERPRICED. RIP OFF!!!!! If you want I can actually show the receipt and show sunglass hut website for how much they are selling without discount.

One star is too good for these guys. It's a money grab. Plain and simple. They took advantage of my senior father. He has cataracts and requires surgery. He was advised to purchase new lenses which he is unable to see out of and has never been able to see out of. He will need to replace with new lenses after his surgery because prescription will change. He's low income and will need to come up with money for an eye exam and new lenses. I've emailed them to complain and heard nothing back. Very disappointed with this entire company. Will be advising every to take their business elsewhere.

Gently reminded me to see the glaucoma specialist each year, and diagnosed my mom's running eyes! It is great to have someone actually care about their patients and their profession. !!!!!THIS LOCATION IS RIDICULOUS!!!!! I have been going to (almost all) the Image Optometry's in the Lower Mainland for about ten years now! And for about past 4 years my husband has been going. We have been going to THIS Location only because we live near by and visit this mall, daily! The prices are Fair but the service/attendants mainly at the front reception, AWEFUL! MOST RECENTLY, my husband ordered contacts Fri May 29. Paid in full. We went by there Sat June 6, the person at the front, young kid with a bby mntn sec school shirt on, informed us that the contacts were NOT Ordered until the Monday after (Mon Jun 1) I phoned this store on Mon June 8! No Answer, I left a Message, I still did not receive a call back Yesterday Thursday Jun 11, 2015 my husband called the store asking about his contacts, (upset bc his glasses wrecked and been waiting this long for these contacts) The PERSON WHO ANSWERED THE PHONE STATED "Oh, We tried calling you on JUNE 6 to let you know they were here for Pick Up!" WHAT B.S!!!! We Were In The Store Asking for Them ON JUNE 6th! He went to the store yesterday afternoon to pick them up, the regular workers would not even COME OUT to discuss what happened, they HID AWAY! They sent a 'new' person to the front to give my husbands contacts

Employees and owner care about reviews more then they care about customer service. I personally was lucky enough to not need the services of Image Optometry but sadly my girlfriend has had multiple terrible experiences that I personally witnessed. My girlfriend is forced through her insurance to come to this "establishment". After her first visit they were unorganized and unprofessional so she gave them a 1 star review, following this review the next time she came in to purchase contacts the lady's at the front informed us thar "her file was lost from their system" while they smirked because they knew she gave them a bad review. A week later she came back the same lady's weren't there but a gentleman employee kindly and effectively helped her purchase contacts with no problems. Together my girlfriend and I went to pick up the contacts when the same lady's as before heckled my girlfriend for giving them a bad review and asked her to delete and or change the rating and said if she refused to change her review they couldn't serve her anymore. This business should improve operations and customer service before they check reviews. They wouldn't have to worry about reviews if customer service was up to business practice standards.

I have no idea how other posts here described the doctor as caring and thorough, he is the opposite of those qualities. He conducted eye exams for my elderly parents in a rush manner and didn't care to listen and to take time to explain. We had to spend $90 on the optomap imaging that he didn't even care enough to look at. When I asked him about it, he just simply said that their eyes were all healthy which is completely not true. My father is 85 year old and has diabetes. His previous imaging showed bleeding in his eyes. My mom has macular degeneration. He had all of their history there but didn't bother to read. (we have been seeing another doctor at the same clinic and booked the appointment with that doctor but Dr.Gandham substituted him on that day). If I knew he would be the substitution, I would definitely have re-booked the appointment. I had bad experience with him before. I am asking the clinic to provide another session with our regular doctor. Sadly Dr. Gandham is the owner so not sure if my request would be met. If not, time to move to another location.

The initial tests were fine, done obviously by a new person who hadn't been trained that well because I had to ask on every machine to have the chin bar raised or I hit my head on the upper panel. I'm only 6 ft. but hey pay attention and adjust it. Then the Doc tested my eyes and they are apparently the same as they were 2 years ago, and he listed them as the same although I see better with my left eye and it is stronger and he agreed but it shows the same on the lens prescription??? OK, so then it's back for a couple more test for field of vision and whatever the last one was, turn your head and we'll take some pictures. Done, now time to go! What? Doens't the Dr. tell me how the last tests turned out? What do they indicate? No, he will tell you when you come back next year and compare them. Oh, yea, just like he told me how these tests compare to the test I had here 2 years ago??? He never told me anything about them!!!!! This sucks. I'm off to find another eye Dr. and will never go back to Dr. Gandham if he doesn't have the time to explain things any f'n better than this.

As you can tell from the owner's response to this review the staff are very unprofessional and hostile. The doctor is indifferent and does not seem to care at all about the eye exam, he even has Facebook open on his computer. The equipment smells bad. The staff lack the basic responsibility of following up patients with receipts and prescriptions when their printer is malfunctioning. They also seem to be fine with disclosing a patients reason for visiting on a public website. Avoid at all costs!

My eye exam was pretty quick, its been a long time since I've updated my prescription so it was a big difference too. They have a lot of options online and were willing to order one or transfer some for me if I saw one I liked! They have a really good range of prices, so I found prices that fit into my coverage.

Dr. Li may have been running behind, but it felt like she moved through the exam very quickly. I had an excellent experience shopping for and selecting my frames though, and I really appreciated the help from staff during that process.

Just purchased two pair of glasses, one sunglass from Image Optometry. Great service during the selection process. Glass are exactly what I wanted. It took the full two weeks to get them and I would have like to have them sooner. All in all a good experience

The service was horrible. You have to be ashamed of yourself. This is addressed to a guy who was rude to me and did not want to do anything to help with my request. He looked like of a Persian decent but I can be wrong on this one. He is tall and skinny with dark features. In any case, will never recommend your location to anyone.

Too bad you cant give zero stars because thats what Dr. G deserves. Also all of the positive reviews are so clearly written by people he knows or told them to write. As Im sure most people who deal with him know he doesn't care about his patients or his profession. Just his time and how to get you out as soon as possible. Rude, unprofessional and cheap (charges for many things which other optometry offices wont so do your research, save your money and go elsewhere for better service).

THE VERY BEST! The Doctor was wonderful, the prices are sooo low I wondered if they were fake, I don't know how they do it because these are real designer brands. They have these touchscreen keosks sp? (like at the airport), anyway, I picked a pair of glasses walk up to the touchscreen and then compared on the internet, my Ray Bans were >$50 cheaper than anywhere on the internet (& Tim who works there said that most of them online aren't even authentic - but these sure are!) They made them while I waited, put all the bill under one receipt, so I could submit it to my vision insurance. I've never wrote a review before, but I've never been so impressed - guys if you're going ANYWHERE else, you throwing money away!!

Doctor was fine, did a good job but seemed slow, confused and did not communicate properly. The staff however were so rude. The dark haired skinny guy with glasses has an attitude problem, and the rest have no clue what they are doing. Do not waste your time here.

Went there for prescription glasses that were on promo. Ended up giving me the sunglasses off the shelf. Still dirty with no prescription. The guy said before he gave them that the prescription was so low I wouldn't notice a difference. Which clearly was a lie and they sold me 10 dollar sunglasses for 60 dollars (free with promotion) let's see if I even get the tickets

Very poor public relations and customer service by some staff, not all! Do not go here. You will not get treated fairly. This is a cash grab and there is a reason why this place is rated so low, it is because they are shady. My relative went here for an eye test and ordered new lenses for her glasses from here. Right after the appointment, we realized that we didn't really have the funds this month to get new glasses and needed to wait to get new ones. After contacting them right after we get home (about an hour after the appointment), they told us that we couldn't cancel the glasses, and if we needed further help, we need to talk to a manager. So we asked to talk to a manager and they stopped responding to us completely.

I am not sure why there are so many 1 star reviews... I've been going here for the last 2 years now, and each time I go, it is a very pleasant experience. Staff are knowledgeable and are extremely helpful. All my eye exams have been a pleasant experience and if I ever had any issues with frames/lenses, I have been able to return and exchange them, free of charge. Overall, neither myself or other family members have had any bad experience with this business. In all honesty, I think the 1 stars are just a bunch of Karens and Bobs who didnt get their way...

Very bad service. Ordered some contact lens a month ago. They said they will call me when they arrive. Never called. So I called back to ask. Never gave me an answer. They are so hard to deal with. I gave up with them.

For a newcomer who has limited experience as to what to expect from an eye test, the optometrist should be patient and ensure that the customer feels at ease at all times. I would however, like to commend Agnes, the lovely Scottish lady who, as well as being knowledgeable and helpful, is emotionally intelligent and creates a great rapport with her client. Thank you Agnes! If it wasn't for your customer excellence, I most probably would not have stayed. Be Kind & Stay Safe!

Dr. Gandham was very abrupt during my appointment almost yelling at me when I couldn't see the letter. He wrote a prescription that was too weak for me. He continously bad-mouthed my previous Optometrist, very unprofessional. After my new lenses were made by a different company- I couldn't read because they were too weak. I had the prescription checked and the lenses were made correctly. I made a follow up appointment. When Dr. Gandham came in he was flipping out that the other company made the lenses wrong. I asked for my current prescription and he said that my current prescription does not work and if I get them made in this prescription again I will have headaches?! What, I have had this prescription for 2 years and it works great. The prescription was not made wrong- he looked at my old glasses prescription and said that, that is what the company had just made. He and his staff are so incompetent they couldn't even get the prescription read out between my old glasses and my new ones correct. He was arrogant, rude and argumentative and as I have been seeing Optometrists for 35 years- he is absolutely the worst I have ever dealt with.

Now, I understand why you see 'NOT MONEY BACK' on the invoice. I had to go back to their store 3 time, and call them several times during three weeks, in order to receive my glasses and, I am STILL not 100% satisfied with them. I returned back my glasses TWICE, because they were not well-finished. Be aware, probably you are saving money, but you are going to have a lot of headaches, when the product that you finally receive, won't be the same that you were expecting for. In addition, be prepared to spend extra money in gas (going back to the store) and in phone calls (they NEVER will call you back). During my nightmare,the only answers that I received by phone and in person were;.. I am sorry, ...I am so sorry.... I'll call you back...I need to call the lab... or I don't know what's wrong with your glasses (after the CSR tried to fix them several times in front of me). TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE I won't recommend this place never. Again, probably you are saving some money, but for sure, you will go through a lot of troubles, in order to receive your glasses, (just if you are lucky enough)

Stay away! This optometry is complete rip off and lie! I went in for an emergency. I poked my eye and cut my cornea. I called to make an appointment and when I showed up, they said they require a full eye exam to see a doctor which cost you from $90 -$200. I said I came for a full medical reason and I don't want a full eye exam as I'm waiting for my benefit to become available from work. They said it's a normal procedure and no one can see a doctor without an exam unless I had an exam with them within last 6month. I told her that I never have seen any optometry refuse to see a patient without a full eye exam in this medical situation. She said, exam can be billed to MSP but my MSP was maxed out since I had an eye exam at another optometry. I told her that I never had an eye exam this year nor I have heard any MSP being maxed out for a medical reason. She said there is nothing she can do but follow the procedure she was told to do and recommend to pay to do a full exam in order to see the doctor. They don't tell you about this eye exam upon making an appointment. They only tell you after they let you wait a but after registering. They make it sounds like it is a normal procedure to do any optometry you go which is NOT true. What a way of ripping off the patient, especially when you are in an emergency situation. I left and went to another optometry. They charged me nothing but gave me a free drop they had it available and didn't even mention a word of "exam". This optometry is completele rip off and lie! They don't care but are shady to take your money.

I just found my favourite eye doctor in the world. Dr. Gandham is professional and easy to talk with. Whenever I visit him for the checkups, he is so thorough and the best part is that he makes his patients feel comfortable with him instantly. He genuinely cares about you as a patient and I would definitely be recommending his services.

Terrible. I have severe macular degeneration and asked over the phone if I could get a referral to an opthamologist. They said yes and asked what kind of eye test I wanted. I said I'm not sure and could I just discuss it with the Dr. They said yes. I get there and they insist that I have to decide on the procedure before I see the doctor. So I agree to an eye test which requires eye drops which I say I would prefer not to take as I want to talk to the doctor first. The receptionist was hostile and kept telling me that they have to do their job (like a robot). When I finally get to the doctor he is hostile as well as his staff told me I was a problem. Instead of giving me an eye exam, he's rude and dismissive and tells me it's his job to determine if I need a referral...like I don't know that. He continues to be rude and hostile to me so I walk out. Conclusion : this guy isn't a doctor, he's a technician. No concern about what the patient wants, just pump you through eye exams like a factory. Highly recommended not to use this lousy service and their robotic and hostile staff and doctor. What a terrible experience.
