I have been going to FYI for many years. Staff are friendly and kind. I recently went to see Dr. Hagedorn as my vision seemed off. She preformed a very thorough exam and took her time to make sure I was comfortable with my new prescription and that all my questions were answered. I also ended up with a fabulous pair of glasses. Highly recommend this clinic!

I went to their office 2 years ago to see dr Talisa Denise because of the eye infection and was amazed with her professionalism and knowledge. She was very detail oriented and addressed all my concerns with kindness and detail explanation. I also got small reading prescription. I am happy to say that each of the following visits went the same way - dr Denis thoroughly did the exam without assuming or skipping anything. Now all my family goes to dr Denis when needed for their eye care and glasses prescription. Definitely the best eye doctor I have ever seen!

I've been going here for years. Before they moved even and will continue to return. Always excellent service, very professional, very friendly. They have a great new retinal scanner, which though tricky to use, is good for monitoring the health of the eye and many clinics do not have these. It is a bit more expensive than other places but you get what you pay for! Quality work, excellent service - plus coffee! PS - I do not buy contacts or glasses from them - any in-store place charges ridiculous amounts in order to make a profit margin. Get your prescription done here and go buy them online.

Went for my eye exam for the first time in a long while. Absolutely loved my experience. The receptionist was very approachable and helpful in getting me through the prelim tests. As for Dr. Tony Wong, he was super friendly knowledgeable, and patiently explained to me all about my current eye condition, and preventative methods. Left the clinic a very happy man, highly recommend this location!

Nice place, super friendly and helpful staff. Getting my exam done and help with choosing frames was a great experience. I came back twice shortly after for some minor adjustments (nothing that was their fault) and everything was equally as good. Highly recommended.

whoever was on the phone with me had the worse customer service skill. Didn’t know how to explain the order that I asked and took too long get the idea across. Their doctor was nice so I gave 3 stars and that’s pretty much it! Will go somewhere else to order my contact.

Dr Jenny Ng, the optometrist I saw, was competent, professional and friendly. However, the optician I spoke to about lenses gave me inaccurate information which would encourage me to upgrade: she repeatedly said, "It's only $50 more," when they were actually $60 upgrades; and she told me the 1.5 index lenses do not have UV protection, and I would need the more expensive 1.6 index for that, which is false. I also realized the $199 lenses come free with a pair of $159 frames.

I had my eye appointment and my eyes were dilated so I was unable to see any glasses and try on. This lasted for 3.5 hrs after my appointment. I have been trying to make an appointment to come in to spend money on 2 pairs of glasses. I work till 5pm but am able to come in for 5:15pm (due to covid they only are allowing appointments to look, due to short staffing they are saying) They pushed that I was unable to come in because the sale has to be done by 530 so they can cash out for 6pm. I'm sorry I've worked customer service for 15 plus years. If you say you are open till 6pm, you take customers till 6pm. Cash out and everything else is after. I have never felt so much like a company just does not want my money. I intended to purchase two designer glasses. Have read the reviews and seeing I'm not the only one who has received poor attitude. The Yaletown location was extremely friendly. Not to sure whats going on at this one.

Updated review 2021: I had the opportunity to return for another eye test and contact lens fitting, and was just as impressed by Dr Shum's care and service, and the extra mile she went to make sure I had lenses that would serve my purpose at the right price point. Thanks again! Original review 2020: Dr Shum was thorough, personable and kind in performing my eye exam. I was happy with the Covid safety measures in place. I was also pleasantly surprised at the ease of my frame-shopping experience; I've struggled for years to find glasses that actually fit my face, and they had a great selection. Susan even took extra care to refit my old pair of glasses - which I'd bought elsewhere - since my new ones will still be a couple of weeks. The "over and above" is appreciated!

Very professional team! Friendly service too. Yes, another reviewer mentioned excellent coffee -- I second that. Went to FYI for the first time because I wasn't too happy with the place I was going to before. I appreciate that Dr Tony Wong was extremely patient with answering all my questions and he gave me information that other eye doctors have never bothered to mention to me. Leslie who is part of client care is very nice and helpful too. Also very cheery. I highly recommend this place. And did I mention the coffee is good? ;)

The worst customer service I have ever had.I booked an appointment for the eye exam and also I wanted to buy the glassed and there was snowing in Burnaby and I asked a friend to take care of my children to go to the appointment since they confirmed via the email and by the phone the day before that , surprisingly when I came there, they said that they do not know why my appointment canceled and the doctor was not there. I had to walk to home in the snow since I could take another the not exactly to my home and I had to go home by walk. This was really unexpected and unaccepted. I never go there and wanted to inform everybody for their services

I had an incredible experience at FYI Doctors - Burnaby. Upon arrival, I was promptly greeted by the staff with a warm welcome, complete with complimentary coffee. Dr. Dennis was kind, knowledgable, and helpful during my eye exam. She explained each step of the process and identified exactly why I had been squinting while watching TV late at night. Dr. Dennis completed my prescription and Susan helped me to find two pairs of eyeglasses that will help me see more clearly. I highly recommend Dr. Dennis at FYI Doctors - Burnaby.

I noticed my toddler's eyes were askew. As my spouse had work flexibility, he took my child to a doctor here. My spouse started the appointment with, "Nobody else notices, but my wife thinks ..." The appointment ended with the doctor saying she found nothing wrong. I knew what I was seeing and consulted with my family doctor who noticed the problem and referred us to an ophthalmologist. Fast forward a few months and I find out that the only way to fix the problem now is surgically. This was my experience.

Burnaby Vision Care provides an indepth look into not only your prescription but also the health of your eyes. Would recommend to anybody, and especially to those who may have family history of eye problems or a high prescription (like me!).

I visited Dr Jessica Ng a month ago to get an updated corrective lenses prescription and other general eye checkups. Dr Ng was friendly and patient as in my first visit with her. I requested 2 prescriptions, one for driving with full strength lenses and one for shorter distance purposes like watching tv and computer monitor. The first prescription for distance was perfect, but there're some mix-ups with the second prescription, and it's mostly my fault that I didn't explain clearly to her of what I need. I only discovered this situation after I've purchased my first pair of glasses and ready to order the second pair. I called the clinic and Dr Ng very graciously let me book another appointment with her free of charge, so that I can explain more succinctly to her of what my needs are, and she gave me an updated prescription. I am very pleased with the way she handled the situation, and would recommend others to consult with her if you're looking for a friendly, courteous and professional eye doctor!

The doctor is very nice and helpful and that's why I give 2 stars. The assistants speak bad English and one of them is very rude while taking photos only because my chair bumps to her chair. Keep in mind I have to shift my positions following their instructions and the room is super crowded. Anyway the manager called the next day. He asked me what happened and apologized for my bad experience. For that I add one more star.

This review gets 5 starts all because of Dr. Talisa Dennis. I HIGHLY recommend her!! My husband and I went for an eye exam, and he's extremely squeamish with anything to do with eyes. She was extremely patient, and informative. She explained every part of the examination process to put him at ease, and make it a comfortable experience for both of us. I also had to a contact lens fitting, and it was extremely thorough. Dr. Dennis was patient with helping me find a set that was fit for me. I didn't end up ordering right away, and almost a year later called back to order the contact lenses, and she remembered me! Also, super quick with responding and updating my file so I could order the contacts! The BEST optometrist in town!

I am very happy with my experience at Burnaby Vision Care. Dr. Jessica Ng took the time to examine my sight and the health of my eyes and explained my questions with care and time. I really appreciate her giving me info on how the health inside my eyes can explain what is happening with the rest of my body. I should also mention that it was really nice that Dr. Ng speaks Cantonese as I brought my grandmother to see her. Her fluency in English and Cantonese came in really handy that day as I am not a very good interpreter! I would definitely recommend Dr. Ng at Burnaby Vision Care for your optical and eye needs. Thank you Dr. Ng for taking care of my eyesight and health!

I have been a patient since they were still at the mall. Staff are always polite and Dr Ng has always taken the health of my eyes seriously. Prices for contacts are average at best, but the extras services provided at no charge, and the care for patients keeps me coming back.
