Dr breanne facey literally took away all my vision stress. For about a year I’ve been investigating what was going on with my eyes. I went to a different optometrist and got a test done and said I was all good. I knew I wasn’t but he seemed to brush me off and didn’t care. A friend of mine works for dr facey and told me they would be able to figure out what was going on with me so I got my GP to get me a referral to get an appointment. The place is a cute little office downtown Burlington. Easy to find and lots of parking and the girls were super friendly but lets talk about the real rockstar. Dr facey did so much more testing then I knew was supposed to be done. The first place I went to didn’t do nearly half the tests dr facey did. She asked me if my eyes were doing “this and that” before I could even explain to her that my eyes were doing “this and that”. She knew right off the bat was I was experiencing and what needed to be done. She was very informative especially with vision and it’s relation to thyroid issues (I’m hypothyroid hashimoto) which is comforting having someone experienced with that relation. We were also trying some different lenses and I told her I wasn’t confident with the answers I gave her because they all kind of looked the same to me and I couldn’t tell and she assured me she was confident with her answers from the testing and was just trying out the lenses to see but she already got what she needed which was a huge relief because I’ve never had eye problems so I don’t know how any of this works. Anyways she seemed very interested in having me as a new patient and seeing me for a yearly check up and it’s a nice feeling knowing someone cares about you and your progress. Getting me some glasses next week. Crossing my fingers. Thanks dr facey and my lovely friend Kayla for referring me :)

Both my children saw really noticeable improvements through doing vision therapy with Kayla and Dr Breanne Facey. I cannot recommend vision therapy enough, especially for young athletes and any children who are struggling in school. In my opinion it's the future of eye care.

I came here for an eye exam and ordered my glasses online. They came back blurry so I went to another optometrist office because this one didn’t have any frames I liked. Then I find out Dr. Facey gave me the completely wrong perscription!! Don’t go here, they don’t know what they’re doing.

I brought my 15 month old daughter for her eye apt. and I have to be honest, I was dreading the appointment. With it being our first time to an Optometrist, I had no idea how they would check such a young child's eyes without it being traumatic for her. Dr. Breanne Facey was absolutely amazing. She made the eye tests fun and not scary at all for my daughter. She made what could have been a scary situation - not scary at all...and actually a lot of fun. Dr. Facey & Kayla are wonderful practitioners. I have been seeing Dr. Facey for more than 6 years and she has helped me through multiple concussions which have directly affected my vision. Kayla is very knowledgeable about vision exercises and visual rehabilitation, as I worked with her for my second round of vision therapy when I sustained another TBI. When I first started vision therapy I was having a lot of trouble reading - over the course of several months, seeing Dr. Facey & Kayla every week, I made significant progress and now have no trouble reading and am back to where I was pre-concussion! My two year old son now sees Kayla for vision therapy as he was born with strabismus. He has had eye surgery to correct it, but still needs vision therapy as he still has a slight eye turn. The exercises are fun and easy for him to do - and she is great with him. I definitely recommend Dr. Facey and / or Kayla. Whether it’s for a yearly eye check up, or something more complicated that requires vision therapy, they both are very professional and knowledgeable and have helped both my son and I a tremendous amount. The ladies are reception are also amazing too - they always provide such wonderful customer service :)

Dr. Facey is amazing!!! I have two children (my eight year old does not require glasses however; my three year old does) and they LOVE coming to get their eyes checked. The recommendation of purchasing the NanoVista glasses for my son, was perfect!! They are destruction proof, he can't break them and - most importantly - they have survived day care. I did spend the extra $40.00 to have transition lenses (change to sunglasses) as my son is outside a lot and he requires them for distance. I recommend Dr. Facey to all my friends with children as she has the special touch to making them feel at ease, welcomed and that they can enjoy getting their eyes checked.

Disappointing experience here. They did try - but in the end it cost more than it should have and my 86 yr old mother is still struggling with her eyeglasses. I have 2 main issues. Came here in March 2018 for my Mom who is early-stage dementia and who is very frugal. She was constantly lifting her eyeglasses to read and to do things that involved details (picture puzzles). She has OHIP coverage only - no private medical plans/insurance. Saw doc #1, got a new prescription [progressives $350.00], went to the lab to have new lenses fitted into her old frames. She didn't have them on for 10 seconds before she said the right lens was awful and she could not wear it. The lab put her old lenses back in and we returned to Dr Brodie's to be retested and refitted, with the same doc. But doc #1 said she could find no issue with her orig diagnosis and fitting, so she recommended we see an ophthalmologist - waited 2 months for the appt - specialist said Mom had early-stage AMD (right eye) -- BUT there was "no reason why she shouldn't see perfectly well with the correct prescription and fitting". That's a DIRECT quote - I asked him point-blank. So we returned to Dr Brodie's with that evaluation and their response was "Ok - she has early AMD so that's why her vision in her right eye is not perfect. The end." Wait a sec - that's not what he said. You're over-simplifying the evaluation from the specialist you sent us to?! (Issue #1) I requested a third test by a different doctor. They said they can't do that - even though there are 3 doctors in the practice - once you're assigned a doctor - that's the one you have to stay with, OHIP will not allow a change. I insisted and said I would pay for my Mom to be re-examined by another doctor. So we saw doc #2 [$90.00] and doc #2 gave us a NEW prescription and a NEW fitting. ***PLEASE note this*** doc #2 determined my mom needed a different prescription AND a different fitting than doc #1 had TWICE determined - yet I STILL had to pay $90 to get that corrected (Issue #2). We ordered the new lenses [we did not have to pay for the corrected lenses - as we were still within their 90 day guarantee]. Went to the lab again - new lenses in old frames again. Initially these are much better, but over the next few days Mom says they are still not perfect. She is still using them - but still has to lift them to read or see small details... and when she closes her left eye the vision in the right is blurry. So we are out-of-pocket $440 yet we are exactly where we were when we walked through their door. I'm trying to convince Mom to get bifocals - no success yet. When I do, we will not go to Dr Brodie's, we will need to go somewhere that will provide an actual refund (Walmart) just in case bifocals don't do the job. I'm not an idiot - I understand that eyeglasses are a "Custom" product and a small independent business can't absorb an expense that would come with providing a money-back guarantee - but they have missed the bigger picture here. I also wear eyeglasses and will need new ones in Spring 2019 - and I'm still working so I have excellent coverage. They've lost 2 customers, not 1. Lastly - I must say everyone in the office is very nice. My Mom's memory is really bad, she can be demanding, opinionated and kinda rude if she gets annoyed. The staff here were patient with her, accommodating, polite, happy to help and in many cases, went over & above... except when doc #1 misdiagnosed us.

5 stars isn't high enough to rate Dr. Facey. She is gentle, knowledgeable, patient and perseverant. She wouldn't give up until we were both satisfied with my lenses. I honestly wouldn't bring my child to anyone else. She will ensure they get the perfect fit, guaranteed. The entire staff is friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Where's the 10 star button for these reviews?

I was 35 getting my first pair of glasses. I never had actually been to an Optometrist before and Dr. Facey took the time to walk me through the tests she was performing and answered all my questions. I have been going to her for a few years now and she works with my kids as well. Highly professional, but easy to connect with and her staff are excellent as well. A great place to go if you want your eyes well taken care of with a wonderful team of caring professionals.
