REVIEWS OF Dr. Katherine E. Paton IN British Columbia

Tim Douglas

This doctor has been treating my mums uveal melanoma unsuccessfully. Now that my mum needs to seek more treatment in the US, this doctor’s office has obstructed the process by not sending needed imaging results. She has not made my mother feel cared for and has contributed to significant anxiety at what is already a horrible time. A sign of a broken system. Early detection of cancer is meaningless if they can’t get biopsies and tests scheduled in a timely manner.

Doctor Katherine Paton has a combination of talent and wisdom (that comes with life and learning) which is rare to find in any profession!

Dr. Paton has been treating me since I diagnosed with retina blastoma as an infant. I'm in my 30's now - alive and kicking. Despite only annual check-ups, her work has had a profound impact on my life. Thanks for your commitment and contributions to the field.

Never have been to a dr or specialist and had to wait 5 hours. This has nothing to do with the doctor herself. Is the receptionist that overbooks and all this waiting time happens. This is unreal and no one has the time to just sit there, or not sit as not enough chairs are available having to wait this long to get in to be seen. Receptionist must be changed or taught how to not overbook, and book properly.

Don Adlam

She is excellent. Long wait times but only because she actually takes the time to listen and connect.

Really like this Doctor. Have been a patient of hers for just over 20 years.....Only negative thing is, that YES the wait times can be somewhat long (but so what) she's an excellent doctor, and she's worth waiting for.....She's been working at: Hospitals, Emergency and has had her own practice for years (so I am sure she knows a few things about eye health) and for those complaining about she's late because she was working Emergency or the hospital that day (Well, when you go into a hospital, you're definitely waiting alot longer there) My advice! She is worth going to......If time management is an issue, then maybe consider booking on a day that you have no other duties or obligations to fulfill.....

You may have to wait sometimes but you cant rush quality and you are getting the best.

Totally disorganized. Waited 5, yes FIVE hours for my first appointment because she goes to the hospital the same day she sees office patients. My appointment was at 3 and I saw her at 8 pm! They don't even try to reschedule local patients, let alone the out of town people who had no choice. The next 2 appointments - showed up - only to be told she again was delayed at the hospital. Wasted an hour each time. How about have a clinic day OR a hospital day?

First time I had to wait for 2.5 hours despite the appointment, however, it was little better in the next appointment.

Yesterday my elderly father had to wait 4 hours just to see Dr. Paton. It was 8pm on a Friday night, and our appointment was at 4pm. My father was really broken down and fatigued from the wait. It is quite ridiculous how she runs her business. She blamed it on emergency appointments and surgeries. However, she should have better time management. Her receptionist is also very rude and unsympathetic. What a pitiful, poorly ran office. I dread our next appointment.
