Dr. Calotti is simply a magician!!! I have been extremely near sighted my whole life, with astigmatism in both eyes. Worn glasses since I was seven, and am currently 59. Long story short, my chemotherapy (for completely unrelated area), gave me glaucoma and cataracts. Of course I was terrified, as was losing my sight rapidly. My first visit at Dr. Calotti's office was wonderful. The friendly, knowledgeable staff, made me feel comfortable immediately, and assuaged my fears. My glaucoma is being treated, and I have had cataract surgery on both eyes. The toughest part I can report is the eyedrop regimen is a little overwhelming, but "ya gotta do, what ya gotta do" right?! I now have 20/20 vision, for the very first time in my life. All thanks to the skill and mastery of "THE MAGICIAN"!!!

My grandmother recently used Great Lake Eye Centre services. These are her words... I knew my vision was deteriorating and cataract surgery was pending. Referral was made to Dr Calotti. Initial visit July 2018. Both eyes had cataracts, glaucoma (in one eye glaucoma was already half irreversible) and also keratoconus. To me “my eyes were a mess” But I was fortunate to be in the expert care of Dr. Calotti and very soon treatments began. September 2019 my vision is good. The doctor has a busy office and has several capable assistants who do a great deal of testing. They are very accommodating. Dr. Calotti has great follow up so I’m relieved knowing my sight health is in expert hands. I’ll be having some further treatment this fall. After having Dr. Calotti laser my torn retinas a few years ago I was very happy to learn that he would also perform cataract surgery on both of my eyes. I am thrilled with the results! Dr. Calotti was sensitive to my lifestyle , and patiently, using language I could understand, explained the procedure and answered all the questions I had about the outcome. He is professional and friendly and has a lovely bedside manner. After each surgery someone from his office called to make sure I was using the prescribed eye drops. Hi, my name is Yvette Cook and I am very pleased to do a review for Great Lakes Eye Center. I had my first cataract surgery on June 1/17 and the left eye June 22/17. It was not an uncomfortable surgery. Everything was explained beforehand. I received excellent pre-op and post-op care. I had to use eye drops before hand and afterwards about 4 different kinds to be used in a scheduled manner. It was a little time consuming but well worth the trade-off to having my cataracts removed and implants inserted. I have had literally no pain except for once for about a minute. Not sure what that was about but it never returned. I've had no swelling in either eye. Today, I read, do computer, drive day and night and the only thing I have to deal with is a slight sensitivity to some lights, mostly outdoors. I can even thread a needle and pluck my eyebrows without glasses. All in all it was a great experience. I also notice colors are more vivid especially outside. I want to thank Dr. Calotti and his staff and the staff at the Brantford General Hospital for the good care I received and the courtesy I was shown. I contacted Dr. Calotti at great lakes eye centre for under eye fillers, and thought I would get the same answers I did from all the other cosmetic places I called... this was an actual doctor so how could I afford this and I'm sure I wouldn't be able to speak to someone... but I spoke with Ashleigh, who stated that Dr. Calotti would only use 1 syringe for BOTH eyes, this was something no other place said to me as they all were about more more more. Dr Calotti was very calming to talk to: I mean I'm sitting there about to get needles right under my eyes. And Ashleigh was very pleasant and personable. My results were instant and I actually only had 2 small bruises that are almost gone now. No pain and no swelling. I will continue to go back to have this procedure done only by him now.

Worth the wait. I waited about 2 month for my appointment & drove all the way from Burlington/Oakville. Had a consult earlier today with Dr. Calotti to address an issue with the inner corner of my right eye. He informed me it was a small cyst, pretty much only a cosmetic concern and educated me further on what it was & how it forms. I had a great experience, both him and his staff were very friendly & accommodating. Very greatful they were able to squeeze some extra time in today to have it removed. I went to Dr. Calotti for cataract surgery because my vision was blurred. He not only replaced the lens in my eyes, but corrected my astigmatism and high myopia. I can see further, sharper, clearer and with greater detail than I ever could with or without glasses. As a young child, my parents wondered why I couldn't catch a ball but I could not see it. In grade one, from the front of the class, I still could not read the blackboard so I got my first "coke bottle" eyeglasses. Over the years, improved plastics with higher indices of refraction improved the appearance of the glasses but limited the correction to best possible. Now I can see far and wide and also read without glasses. My optometrist will determine if and when glasses are needed, but thanks to Dr. Calotti and staff for a new lease on life at age 75. Dr Calotti and His Staff are very efficient and Friendly. They take the time to answer your questions and concerns. Sometimes I hear other Patients complain about the waiting , but i feel what is an hour or two of your time to keep your eyes healthy. I know if it wasnt for Dr Calotti I wouldnt have my eyesight . The waiting area is comfortable and if there was WIFI it would be better. The only complaint I really have is the Staff should have name tags. I know the Girls but sometimes forget their names. I was first referred to Dr. Calotti in late 2018 due to cataracts which if left untreated would make me unable to drive a car. Three months later he removed them and replaced them with new lenses. The result was spectacular and exactly what they had told me it would be. I could see clearly and in vibrant colour. 20 months later I was sent back to Dr. Calotti due to a clouding of the vision in my left eye, which I was told was due to deposits forming on the new lense, which can occur in some patients. He said it could be cleared up with laser treatment, which much to my surprise he performed right then and there. A quick and painless procedure. Again, my vision was restored to crisp and clear, noticeable the very next day. I am thankful for the professional and courteous treatment by Dr. Calotti and all the technicians and nurses in his office and at BGH, and would recommend him to anyone without hesitation.

It was not under the best of circumstances that I met Dr. Calotti. I was having extreme pain and vision problems in my right eye. It was a Sunday evening and therefore went to the Brantford General for evaluation. I was looked after immediately by nurses and emergency doctor. It became evident at that time my vision issue was an emergency. I was then reassured by the doctor that Dr. Calotti an Ophalmologist was on call and that I would be under his care. Very late Sunday night Dr. Calotti came to the hospital to perform a laser procedure on my eyes. Had Dr. Calotti not came in at that time, I very likely would of lost vision in my right eye. Upon meeting Dr. Calotti I felt reassured that I would receive the best possible care. He was very personable, caring and compassionate. I felt he understood how anxious I was. Needless to say he is a brilliant doctor. My sight was saved! Not enough words to express my gratitude and thanks.

My experience concerning cataract surgery for both eyes was a very anxious time for me at first. The initial visit to Dr. Calotti's office involved having my eyes tested on several different machines. The office staff & the technicians put me at ease as I went from machine to another to be assessed & measured . Dr. Calotti checked me very thoroughly & said I was ready to have the cataracts removed from both eyes & booked me for surgery two weeks apart. The surgery was done with a local anaesthetic in a matter of 30 minutes for my right eye & I went home for a few hours & then back into the Dr..'s office to be checked. My eye was fine & I started on the eye drops that day. The series of drops for 30 days is extremely important in the healing process. Blurred vision is to be expected for a few days but when it clears "wow!". It was a miracle as my eye sight was poor since early teenage years. Two weeks later my left eye was done. The operation took only 12 minutes. As of April 28th I only have 14 days to complete my 30 days of drops on the left eye. Dr.Calotti your expert surgical skills & compassion for your patients well being is truly appreciated. Many thanks to all your staff in answering any questions that I had. All the best. Dr Fadi Calotti and the entire team at the Great Lakes Eye Center are way above par. They take the time to explain everything to you and when they examine you. The Dr. Himself is very affable, does not rush and will spend the time you need with him. When he operated on my eyes I was very nervous at first but then his professional manner and understanding reassured me. Everyone I meet in his waiting room all say the same thing. The whole experience has been unbelievable. I can say, that I was indeed apprehensive when it came to the day of my first cataract surgery. This , of course, had nothing to do with the most impressive team of well skilled individuals. As a client of Great Lakes Eye Centre, and Dr Calotti as the Ophthalmologist, I had the best attentive service from all. Thank you certainly does not seem to be enough. From the very first appointment I was informed of what to expect, when to expect it and what to do as far as all the eye drops etc. I went in there with clouded vision wearing tri-focal glasses and with the insert of the better lenses to correct my astigmatism as well, I am now glasses free. Apparently, my vision is better than 20/20. Thank you Dr. Calotti and team.

Dr. Calotti performed my grandfather’s cataract surgery, the whole team was great throughout the process. Family members were welcomed to accompany my grandfather into the exam room during the surgical decision process. He was provided with a variety of refractive options to choose from, and service before, during and after surgery was outstanding. Dr. Calotti and the staff were all very professional and dedicated. My grandfather can’t say enough good things about them. He says he loves that he can now see colours better and everything is so much brighter than before surgery.
