In good hands after being referred to Dr Hurst, Ophthalmologist! I had confidence during the repair by laser for retinal detachment. Dr Hurst has state of the art technology in equipment, and is very willing to communicate - with screen results on view. Great staff. Efficient and professional.

I had my first appointment at the Peterborough Clinic with Dr. Hurst. I was so impressed with the “state of art equipment” and the team of staff that took me through test after test ending with a young lady showing me on a computer screen & explaining the procedure in removing a cataract. Then last but not least Dr. Hurst. He had all the info needed from the tests I had that were displayed on the screen in his office. Then he discussed with me my options. A very personal Dr. that made me feel comfortable with no pressure to make a decision in choosing my option. A follow up phone call will follow in a couple of days to check on me. I highly recommend this incredible clinic & very good Dr.

A friend of mine recommended him very highly after he completed a successful laser operation on her eyes. My problem is different from hers. I have Strabismus due to a stroke. After running tests, he suggested a surgery on the muscle of my left eye. After considering for a while I decided against it as both of my eyes will move... Just not together. I returned to him to find out what was involved, the risks and expected outcome; at which time he offered to refer me to a surgeon in Kingston or Toronto. He could not give me any info about the procedure and left in a huff when I told him I wasn't interested in travelling all over for what might be a waste of time.

One sentence... This Doctor is all about the money. He saw my mother a few months ago. He put a lot of pressure on us to accept a surgery at his private clinic, which is not covered by OHIP. I felt like his appointment was more like an marketing session.
